MCLAUGHLIN MOTORS SUBARU IN MOLINE ILLINOIS IS THE MOST DISHONEST DEALERSHIP & SERVICE IN ALL OF THE QUAD CITIES and Beyond!!!! If I could leave a negative stars, I would. The sales department is just as SUPER shady. But THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS COMPLETELY DISHONEST! They really should be investigated for deceptive practices, i.e. bait and switching. Not bothering to talk to the customer or ask the proper questions and getting important information needed to service you adequately. When you get your car trapped down there, they then tell you the repair is going to cost you 10x+ the amount. I found SHERRIE SCHMITT (Service) & Michelle GAU (Service Manager) to be extremely un-knowledgeable, arrogant, ignorant and revengeful when they are TOTALLY WRONG!
I called to ask what it would cost to fix my car - Sherri didn't bother to talk to me about the repair other than she just threw me a price at me. Then when I got my non-running car towed there said it was going to cost way more then they told me. Well, if Sherri would have bothered to talk to me about the service I needed, I would have made a good decision and not towed it to McLaughlin because having McLaughlin work on it was going to be way too expensive. Completely a clear case of bait and switch. I would have NEVER paid to tow my car there if they were going to do nothing other than increase the price from $116 to $1,800!!!
In addition, this wasn't my first HORRIBLE experience there and for me 3 strikes and you're OUT! When we came to a settlement on our situation - MICHELLE GAU, the service manager, OUT OF SPITE, REVENGEFULLY called QC Towing to tow my vehicle, KNOWING I called a another towing company to collect my car - They BLOCKED my car in to make it impossible to remove my car - holding it hostage EVEN AFTER I was extorted to pay them for exactly NOTHING!
Can you believe it?!? They were gonna have my car impounded less than an hour of paying them and they KNEW I called a tow truck. All because I didn't get my car off their lot fast enough?!?!...lucky for me my tow truck driver took my car BEFORE QC TOWING could get to it.
McLaughlin doesn't care about their customers unless you are a senior citizen who only buys a brand new Cadillac for $80,000 and allow them to fix everything on the car without asking questions. McLaughlin prefer customers they can take advantage of, and that is it!!!
McLaughlin claim to be a ‘family’ dealership. They are NOT! McLaughlin is only interested in you if you are a customer who wants to drop a ton of money on repairs without asking questions. They don’t take the time to ask the right questions, to make you feel like they are there to serve and help you. Sherri SCHMITT, at McLaughlin couldn’t be inconvenience to even take my call or call me back to ask me exactly what I was need of and then mad at ME for quoting me the wrong price. Hey, McLaughlin, please hire people who care about customers and not the bottom line of up-selling to make more money. Every customer matters, not just the ones with deep pockets. I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE ANY CAR DOWN THERE FOR REPAIR OR SERVICE AGAIN!!! I will absolutely will be sharing my DISAPPROVAL & ABSOLUTELY DISGUST with anyone who is interested in a car or in need of service. I will be delighted to tell them to AVOID MCLAUGHLIN MOTORS OF MOLINE, ILLINOIS like the PLAGUE!!!
