Today, after work, an elderly man had a flat tire on his 2004 Volvo. He broke the lug wrench trying to unscrew the lug nut. He was from out of town, so I called the Volvo dealership to see if they had an extra wrench/adaptor that we could use. I spoke with Charlie and David, who were extremely willing to help and very friendly. They sent someone(I can’t remember his name)from the service department out to assist this gentleman. Now that is GREAT AND EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I’m blown away with how helpful they were to get this man’s tire replaced. I cannot thank them enough for their thoughtfulness and I hope these men get recognized for their quality customer service.

I was stranded in GA when I blew a tire and cracked the wheel of my Volvo wagon. I had the good fortune to be directed to the Volvo dealership in Athens. They had the wheel overnighted so that I was able to reach my home in Bham AL the next day. They could not have been more accommodating and they really seemed to take a personal interest in my situation. They even went so far as to mail the jacket I left in their lobby while I was waiting for my car to be repaired. My only complaint is that they are not located in Bham so I could have my vehicle serviced with them all the time.

They called and told us they had the car we were looking for, so we drove an hour to Athens only to find they did not have what we wanted but were going to try to convince us to buy a car that we didn't want, that was outside of our budget. Very frustrating. Marietta Volvo was much better.

If you are considering buying a used car, don’t go here. As said by someone else on here- poor poor inspection of used vehicles sold here (even the higher end ones). We just bought a vehicle from here and within a week of having it have had NUMEROUS issues that are beyond worrisome and unacceptable. Jimmy Branton fixed a taillight/ break light issue (great), and in the process- the repair shop managed to leave scratches and paint chip marks on my vehicle. Sloppy sloppy careless work. I also now have a headlight already having issues that will cost me at least 1k to get fixed anywhere, definitely NOT here. They refuse to fix it even with me ONLY owning the vehicle for a week!!!!!! If you are looking for great customer service & honest, good quality used vehicles... do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Just a bunch of snakes trying to collect their check with no care for their used vehicle customers!!!! A joke to deal with!!!!! By far the WORST car buying experience I have ever had. A total nightmare!

I made an appointment a few days ahead of time. When I arrived at the dealership, I was warmly greeted, the paperwork was ready, my loaner car brought to the door of the service department and I was on my way. I had been told my car wouldn't be ready until the following day, but to my delight, I received a call saying my car would be ready the same afternoon. When I arrived to pick it up, I was greeted by name, paperwork ready and the service manager even took the time to answer a couple of questions for me. I was on my way in no time. A wonderful experience!!!

They charged $175.48 to replace a cabin filter and wiper blades as part of service. Both had been recently replaced a month ago. Just because it's "on the list" you should still look at it and see. This is my wife's car (who doesn't know cars) and I feel she was taken advantage of. They also recommended 4 new tires. Two have less than 10k miles, the other two 33,000 with plenty of tread. To top it off, there are smudges of greasy hands on the steering wheel. If you're going to charge 650 for routine service, yes, 650 clean up after yourself. I'll take it to Buford Volvo or do it myself the next time.

WOW....what a pleasant experience buying a car with Volvo Athens was! Having driven my first Volvo for 177,000 miles, I knew my next car would have to be another Volvo because 1)they fit me perfectly...I can see easily out of them 2) they have the best cargo space. PERIOD. 3) everyone I talk with agrees they are the safest car on the market 4) the 4 cylinder Turbo in the XC70 gives good gas mileage 5) the newest safety options are superb...especially the adaptive cruise control...that is a true game changer . I had done my homework on which XC I wanted and worked through the USAA Buying Service. The car that fit all my requirements was all the way down in Georgia. I live in New Hampshire, close to the Canadian border. With USAA, you get a verified offer, so when the dealership received the message from USAA, their manager, Jimmy assigned me a personal assistant, Eric, who put me in the hands of Andrew, the salesman. Andrew confirmed a few things for me, such as the fabulous 7 year/100,000 mile Volvo Certified Used Car Warranty, and the fact that this car had a heated steering wheel. Upon that news, I told Andrew I was on a tight timeline. I would fly down the next day to pick up the car and could he make all that happen because I had somewhere important to be the next night and needed to get on the road quickly. Andrew put me in touch with their finance person, Bethany, who confirmed how easy things would be because of their willingness to work through USAA. Andrew had a driver pick me up at the Atlanta airport. When I got to the dealership, we took it for a quick test ride. The car was EXACTLY as described. I had a few minutes to say hi to everyone who was part of the process and within an hour, I was on my way. My Volvo XC70 Platinum 4 cylinder Turbo is a dream car. A beautiful Java color on the outside, with a creamy beige on the inside. Drives exceptionally smoothly. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Volvo for making a high quality car that is fun and safe to drive and good to the environment. And thank you for everyone at Volvo Cars Athens for making the purchase easy and fun.
