All Mercedes dealerships are NOT created equal...I was a loyal BMW owner for years but due to poor customer service I began to shop other car companies. On my search I met with Marc Sexton at Lokey Mercedes. I expressed to him my dissatisfaction with BMW and he assured me Mercedes had the best customer service. I ended up purchasing a Mercedes from the Tampa dealership because they were able to give me the best deal. Tampa Mercedes was an amazing buying experience with Sean Dutton. Furthermore, their customer service has been phenomenal! Fast forward to now...I live near the Lokey Clearwater Mercedes dealership and I was under the impression I could get my car ran through the wash, as I'm a Mercedes customer and the Clearwater dealership will be my service location. When I arrived and asked for them to run my car through they notified me the car wash was only for service customers. I notified them I would be a service customer, but I have only had my car a month and do not need service. The service manager, Dan Polen, then told me you can only get your car washed on the day you receive service. I confirmed I understood what he was saying and I would not make this mistake again, but asked if since I was there could they run it through for me this one time. The service manager, Dan Polen, declined. I contacted Sean Dutton at Tampa Mercedes and apologized for the experience I had at Lokey Mercedes (although the two dealerships have no affiliation) and arranged for me to get my car washed at Tampa Mercedes. Needless to say, I am not going to drive to Tampa just for a carwash (that is silly), but Sean's customer service has solidified my decision to only do business with Tampa Mercedes from here on out. Lokey Clearwater Mercedes dealership has subpar customer service and I am thankful they are not the dealership I chose to purchase my vehicle from. If you want the best customer service and dealership experience, I recommend Mercedes Benz of Tampa! The Lokey Clearwater Mercedes Dealership is not interested in customer service, only their bottom line...I expected more from a Mercedes dealership.

Awesome experience at Lokey! We live in Orlando and went to a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Orlando and had a less than positive experience. While speaking to the salesman in Orlando, I found a CPO at Lokey. Called and confirmed it was there, spoke with Joe. When I drove over the next day and started talking the salesman said, "You must be Tom". Needless to say we bought the SUV and Joe made the process as easy as it could be, even driving me to the car rental place so I could return our rental. Where shall I start, how about last Saturday around 11 o’clock in the morning, I went to the LOKEY’S dealership to look for a used Mercedes. I had purchased two used cars in the past both times it was a great experience. I worked with a man named Joe Ryndak, prior to Saturday I met him a few times before while searching for a used car. Joe and I found a 2016 used Mercedes E400 Cabriolet. We took it for a test ride, I loved it, we went inside to negotiate. Joe says the internet price is $44,997 BUT you can get it for $37,899 a savings of $7,098.00. I’m very interested. I wanted to get $20,000 for my 2014 E 350 coupe, Joe left the room for a few minutes, comes back and placed an offer sheet down on the desk. He draws a line on it and makes a large X on it, he says put down the number that you would buy the car today, I do some quick math and write $ 19,999.99. That would make the number that I would pay for the car. Joe goes out, comes back and shakes my hand, YOU HAVE A DEAL. We talk for a while and we decide that I would return on Tuesday morning the 10th to finalize the deal. Me trading my car paying the balance with a check. I return on Tuesday and go into Joe’s office. Another man comes in, he wants to re-evaluate my car, I say “WHAT’S GOING ON” this is the first time this has happened to me. Him and Joe leave and a few minutes later come back, Joe puts the original offer sheet down and says YOU need an additional $1400.00 to do the deal. After a few minutes of jawing back and forth both of them get up to leave. I get up and say “that’s it”. Joe says to make the deal work we need $1400 more. Now I’m really upset. They leave the room, I’m sitting there thinking of my options, Joe’s boss comes in and says if you are not going to buy the car please leave. I say I’m not going anywhere. He says please leave or else I will call the cops. After a few minutes of thinking, I get up and leave. So my message is watch out for the old BAIT & SWITCH trick, they know you are interested so add on some money and he’ll pay the $1400.00. Well I didn’t, they lost a loyal customer. Be careful.

Years ago (2006) I owned a Mercedes and had a bad experience with lokey. I never stepped foot on the dealership again until now, so many years later. I walked in just to browse and was greeted by Paul Brown. If I could give 0 stars I would. My friend and I stopped in to look at a 2018 used Mercedes GLE 350. The salesman and his managers were extremely rude and almost predatory in nature. When I asked what they could do on a trade in of my car, they told me to look it up on Kelly's Blue Book. The sticker price on their Mercedes was $55,000. When I asked what they could do, they said "it depends on your trade" which they wouldn't give me a number for. Then my friend looked up their car on their website, and it was prices at $49,000. No joke, same car. When I told the salesmen I could drive 8 miles down the road to Crown Mercedes, he said, "oh, I know the sales manager, she's a looker. Tell her I sent you." What a jerk. To make a long story short, I went to Crown and bought a new 2020 Mercedes GLE 350 for $60,000. Buyer beware! These guys are exactly what you would expect when you hear the term “used car dealer.”

I worked with Paul Brown in looking for a vehicle. I actually stopped by the dealership after hours. He saw me on the lot and came out to speak with me, which was impressive. We discussed what I was looking for, he took careful notes and we exchanged contact information. Although he did have one vehicle for sale, it was close to what I wanted, but not exactly, he said he would see what he could do. He contacted me regularly via email and by phone to keep me updated. I eventually found the exact vehicle I was looking for from a private party. When I mentioned that to him, he was happy for me and actually offered to answer any questions I might have about the vehicle. He didn't even sell it to me, and there was no profit in it for him, except that I consider that a trait of excellent customer service. If I need a vehicle in the future, I know where I'm going, I'm going to see Paul Brown at Lokey.

A month ago I wanted to put an order in for a new G63 so I called about 10 of my closest dealerships to check on estimated wait times. They all said around a year except Marc Sexton at Lokey said 6 months. I told him it was hard to believe given what everyone else said, including from around the country online, but he said he really felt it would be 6 months because there weren’t many in front of me in the queue. I figured worst case scenario I’d just have to wait same as I would with other dealerships so I sent him my build via email. He replied via email saying he got it and I spoke with him on the phone later that day and he said he had put the order in and he would keep me in the loop as to queue movement. He never mentioned deposit. He was difficult to reach by phone or email all through the process. The past two days I tried contacting him to see how things were looking. After not being able to reach him, I emailed the sales manager. The manager replied - promptly to his credit, but with bad news. He had no record of an order for me and their wait is now 12-18 months. He approves all orders and they take $2500 deposits. Needless to say this is very frustrating and disappointing. What the sales persons motivation for lying and leading me on without even putting in an order is beyond me. Purchased a White GL450 Mercedes from them in January - sight unseen except pictures as I lived far away. I was assured by them (after I stated that I wanted it inspected like they were going to buy it) that they were professional and I would enjoy my experience as they are the oldest (or one of the oldest) dealers in Florida and their reputation is impeccable so not to worry. I was so very excited about this purchase as I'd been looking for this combination of bells for a couple of years now so my search was finally over. Thank goodness I purchased a CPO (probably got reamed on that). They promised it went through a very strict CPO inspection process - it obviously did not. Upon delivery all this was noticed in my 5 min "girl" inspection: The ding chip in the back was not fixed but painted over, rims were scratched and not repaired, 3rd row seat was broken, broken power adapters in the 2nd row. Then after driving back to my house (10 min drive) noticed it didn't even have a dealer tag!! WTH - why would a dealership not have the dealer tag, oh and at this time I did not have a paid receipt - so I had absolutely NOTHING saying I owned the car! Try explaining that to the police officer. Yes my phone call to them was quite incensed wherein they in turn PDF'd me a tag (and my buyer docs) -now I look wonderful in my Mercedes with a piece of COPY PAPER for a tag. And going out of town the next day they did happen to overnight me a tag which didn't arrive in time. So now I'm out of town in NC and the damn thing overheats! Yep overheats - blows a hose. So now I'm calling Lokey (justifiably unhappy to say the least)- and they tell me to call the Mercedes towing as I had a CPO. More fun as Lokey dropped the ball and HAD NOT put in my CPO info to Mercedes so it showed the old owner so I couldn't even use MY CPO for a tow! Yep another phone call - and after a rude and condescending discussion by them they went in and remedied same which should have been done on the date of purchase. All this on my first outing with my big white Mercedes purchased through Lokey - and with kids to boot. Now that should top your day. I should have heard nothing from them but "Ma'am we will get right on that let me take full responsibility and get that tow over there and we will handle it from here" - NO it took hours of stress when they could have handled it with one phone call! Thank goodness for S. Charlotte Mercedes who took me under their wing and smoothed things over. I even asked them to look at the car to see what I saw and question the CPO Inspection and they said it should have NEVER I repeat NEVER been delivered to me without looking pristine and couldn't believe they sent me a CPO car with things BROKEN. Lokey had plenty of time to handle it and they could have easily called and told me they needed a couple of days with the car to make sure it was ready and hold off. But they allowed the car to be delivered hoping I wouldn't notice. And when I mentioned all this to them they kept saying oh your CPO will cover it. WHAT??!!!! You sent me a car I have to take to my dealer because Lokey dropped the ball and didn't make sure everything worked properly- OH and by the way Lokey I also had a crack in the upper right of the windshield but I guess that was not noticed by your CPO inspection! I had to demand that Lokey take care of the bill from NC and pay for repairs to the rims which thank goodness Baker Motor of Charleston did repaired brilliantly and didn't charge me extra as Lokey sent me less than what it would have cost! The Mercedes is beautiful NO thanks to Lokey Motors that was all due to the past owner! But if I had to deal with this location again it would be to soon!

The high reviews on the dealership makes it seem as though it is a great place to buy. I personally had an awful experience and don't ever want to do business with the Lowkey Brothers. The dealership does not seem to respect younger individuals with the means to buy the car in cash. It is unfortunate to have the sales manager of this company belittle you on the phone after having an appointment set up for a week, and making you waste over an hour of your time driving over.

Bought a 2012 BMW 335i from Joe Rydnak at Lokey on 04/02/2019. Throughout our test drive, and in his office afterwards; he assured me all their vehicles undergo a "150 point inspection", that "Mr. Lokey stands bye". The problem is, during our test drive we did not take this car on the highway; and when I drove up there to drop off papers the following day (04/02/2019), I noticed when I got up to highway speed, the car would pull me across all three lanes if I allowed it. To explain further, I left the dealership in the evening the day before, and with the traffic on route 19, I don't think went over 50 mph that first day. I called Joe the next morning and he advised me to check the tire pressure, and if that did not do the trick they would get it right. I thanked him, and over the weekend made sure all the tires were inflated to their manufacturer's recommendation. This did not solve the problem. So, I called Joe again at the end of the week (was extremely busy with my dissertation and teaching), and told him not only did it not solve the problem. Additionally, I informed him the vehicle was now sputtering at stop lights (literally almost to the point of stalling). He seemed very concerned, and asked me when I could bring the car up there so they could "throw it up on the machine" and make sure it was running as I had expected it would. We BOTH decided Saturday probably was not the best day as they're quite busy. Not a problem. WE agreed I would bring it up there on Monday at 11:00am and he would "let the service guys know I was coming". I was so relieved and thanked him. When I arrived on Monday morning for my "appointment", it was quite obvious they were not expecting me. The young man receiving vehicles at the service department even went so far as to ask me, "you do realize you are at a Mercedes dealership?" I assured him I did, and told him I had spoke to Joe Rydnak over at the used dealership and he told me to bring it there, at that time. He had no record of my "appointment", I thanked him, and told him I would go see Joe. When I walked into the dealership Joe was in the hallway, having just finished peeling an orange I believe. When I told him the him I had just gone next door, and they had no idea I was coming his response was (hands out), "well you bought it as is." This man had lied to, embarrassed me, and dismissed me. He did offer to "see what his sales manager says" (Charlie Monroe, I presume). I simply replied "I was wondering if you were going to say that", and turned and left, having seen the entire puzzle coming together in that moment. Today it is 15 days since I purchased this vehicle. Before I make my first payment on it, not only will I have to pay for a front end alignment , but now the air-conditioner does not work either (Today's surprise). Both of course, accompanying the sputtering when the motor is stopped and in gear. I do not know Mr. Lokey, but having built such a successful business, I wonder if he would "put his name behind" (Joe's words not mine), a "150 point inspection" that did not account for a properly aligned front end, working air conditioner, or properly idling engine. I also wonder if he would "put his name behind" employees who mislead customers. While I am aware I did not buy the most expensive car on the lot (truth be told it was probably the least expensive); I thought I would be extended the decency of not being lied to, embarrassed, and positioned as a "mark" for the sake of commission. Sadly, I thought (naively in retrospect) that because I was buying from THIS dealership I was purchasing a quality vehicle, that I would be ecstatic to drive. Unfortunately, it appears I have more money to spend before I can approach satisfaction with my purchase. Moreover, I am suspect I will ever be able to positively reflect on this buying experience. Update (5/21/19) I am not even two months in (just made first payment) and just have had to bring it in for $2200 in repairs. It needs another $2500 in repairs. THANK YOU FOR RUINING MY LIFE. I hope it was worth the commission.

We showed up in the evening, kids in tow, and he humored us by going on separate test drives with the the wife and I as we took turns watching the kids. This dealership does not honor their pricing even when given in writing. The dealership decided they wanted to raise the price of the car $4400 and make more profit in the middle of process. Representative put in writing they would honor original price discussed but when paperwork was sent to sign 4 days later the price was way higher. When questioned they said they price to market and I can buy it at the new price or not buy it. I have bought many luxury cars and would expect more from Mercedes. They treat customers similar to a highway stop used car dealer.

Greig was the right combination of listening to my needs/wants, information on features, and straight to the pointedness that I wanted. Kudos to the team to not lose a sell by overpressuring me and allowing me to structure the deal, and come back the next day to transact. In truth, I found a separate vehicle that escaped our earlier search, later that evening while firming up things on my end and first thing the next morning called Greig to let him know. The service I received when I went into the Service Center with my husband was good but when I go alone it is horrible. I went to the Service Center at Lokey Mercedes on yesterday, Saturday , March 23, 2019 without my husband to inquire about my oil change and the Service Rep "Master Certified Advisor" Brian Collins was very disrespectful, rude, mean and nasty to me. The other service rep tried to assist me but Brian Collins told him "I got this"-if you don't get your oil changed here we cant help you, you will need to just wait until the next time your oil needs to be changed and we may service your car, he called me a liar when I tried to explain to him my conversation with a rep I spoke with over the phone regarding getting a oil changed at Lokey. Brian told me very rudely to call the service manager on Monday if I had a problem. Believe you me I will. My husband and I will never purchase another car from Lokey Mercedes- Brian Collins told me he worked for Lokey for 10 years-what a shame such a disrespectful person could last at a job for so long. The staff is kind and the work is quality. I have to go to Mercedes in case of emergency, because I have a smart car, and no mom and pop just have a tiny tire available. I spent half of what I did when i got my replacement a while back, and they even washed my car. For a tire change and a wash it took an even hour. Whereas the mercedes in tampa took 2 hours to balance out a new tire that i then had to go out and install myself.

Ask for Russell Bauer. This man is a consummate professional who combines a high level of product knowledge with superb interpersonal skills. Bought a used Mercedes G550 at Lokey. And took the extended warranty. My confidence in the brand has grown and I’ll tell you why. The vehicle has had minor issues, normal for a 77k mile vehicle. Suspension, air ride, nothing big. BUT, they have cheerfully fixed it, given me a loaner, made it painless and they keep you informed all along the way. Not a dime out of my pocket other than maintenance, oil changes, etc. I also like the fact it’s a single point of contact that gets it all done. My service advisor, Brian Collins, is the one you want.
