We called this dealership to secure the purchase of a truck. As we were coming from 5 hours away we assured them we had a cashier's check for the amount to cover any and everything. My fiancee took off work the following day and made arrangements to travel to the dealership to procure the vehicle. I spoke with Quasha (whom was working with the salesman by the name of Joe) and when I asked her "so you are going to hold this for us? We will be there with the check tomorrow." Her exact response was "yes, I am moving it aside right now for you." I get a phone call not long after saying they sold the truck. After all that they sold it to someone else. Not the kind of dealership I want to do business with.

CPO Ford Explorer – A Cliché Car Buying Experience A typical car buying experience with Sheridan Ford. If you know every step of the vehicle buying process, exactly what you want in a vehicle, and are willing to fight through 10 hours of a car buying process, you should be fine. If you want an easy, pleasant experience, look elsewhere. 1. Down payment was listed as $1500 as opposed to the $3000 we actually paid. 2. Had to walk out the door to get an appropriate price on the vehicle. Classic! 3. Misled about continuance on vehicle warranty. Was told original was warranty was good through the end of the year. Has in fact already expired. 4. Misled to about the quality of my trade in. Manager stated they would have to repaint the bumper for a scratch. This was refuted by a different manager the next day, my trade in value did not go back up. 5. Finance did not bother looking at Ford CPO offerings resulting in a 1% increase (a $1400 difference over the term of the loan), despite me telling them ahead of time to work with Ford. 6. Did not tell me they would be filing the financing jointly, resulting in my wife needing to make another trip to sign paperwork. 7. My wife caught the APR after my correction at .1% higher than the corrected amount. Resulting in me needing to go back to sign paperwork AGAIN. 8. Battery repaired twice while with Sheridan Ford prior to sale, yet not listed as such on the CPO paperwork. Dealer would not replace. 9. Not fully detailed upon purchase, despite being told it would be. Garbage left in the trunk and a CPO Ford Flag left under the driver floor mat. 10. Repeatedly had to correct the salesman on the features available in the vehicle, specifically the engine was not a V6 turbo (a 100 hp difference).

Everyone is shy about using a dealership because of sticker shock. This is not the case at Sheridan Ford on Kirkwood hwy. I shopped around for 4 tires and got the best deal and fastest service at Sheridan Ford. I have also used their service before. They have great oil change deals. During a time when I had a broken wrist, my tire pressure alarm went off. I pulled in, broken wrist and all. They checked out all my tires, fixed the issue, and didn't charge me. I will be back

Not only was the Sheridan discount on my 2018 Mustang Ecoboost Premium by far the highest discount of Ford dealerships I visited, but the service and honesty was exceptional. I was in and out with a new car in a few hours on a Monday morning. Of course I recommend potential buyers being informed and prepared before shopping, but I can say that I never felt pressure or uncertainty around financing options.

A couple of weeks ago I drove 2 hours to look at a 2013 Explorer, I liked the vehicle but I felt the offer on my trade was a little low, also they took my registration for my trade to do the appraisal, I decided I wanted to leave and think about it as I wanted a $1000 more for my trade or to be taken off the new vehicle price but they said that was the best they could do. I realized when I got home they never put the registration back in my car, I called and they said they'd email me a copy as they would need it when I trade anyway.After some consideration I decided to buy a similar vehicle elsewhere as it was a better deal overall and I felt no pressure, so I asked them to mail my registration back to me, its been 2 weeks and I still don't have it. A few days after I purchased the other vehicle I got a message through an app saying the price of the Explorer had been reduced a $1000!! which is what I'd asked for! I called today to find out about my registration and to say I was disappointed they hadn't just worked with me on the $1000 as I preferred their vehicle, the salesperson said she mailed it, didn't know anything about the price reduction, she was abrupt and offered no apology about my now missing registration (I kept my trade) On top of all that I'm in MD so I was told by Sheridan that I would have to take it and get the state inspection done on my time and my dollar and they would cover any necessary repairs but that was vague, eventually offered me $100 towards it if I "bought today" In contrast IG Burton had someone drive all the way to MD to take my vehicle for state inspection and left me a loaner while it was being done!... and the main reason I'm writing this is because my email to them about my registration and general experience was never answered!

I was quite disappointed with my recent service appointment. 1) I made an appointment for an oil change (21k), tire rotation, vehicle check and recall check. 2) I made my appointment for 9am. I called at 12:30pm to check status. I had to call 3 times to get through in order to speak to a human. 3) Service agent informed my they just pulled my vehicle in. 3hrs after my appointment and after the time I requested to pickup the vehicle. 4) I called back again at 3pm and was informed that the last the agent knew the technician had trouble taking my wheels off the vehicle in order to rotate my tires. He did not have any other status and asked me if I wanted him to get an update. I did, so he checked and called me back 30 min later upon which I was told I needed rear breaks and rotors. (6mm left on front and 2mm left on rear) I was suspect and quite surprised to hear I needed new breaks with just about 21k miles on my vehicle. I declined the break maintenance recommendation. 5) When I picked up my vehicle there was no documentation regarding any recall checks performed. Ironically I received a service bulletin for my vehicle that same day in the mail but unfortunately did not see it until I got home. 6) I took my vehicle to a auto shop who also performed a break check and found the rear breaks to be in fine shape and not require any service at this time. 7) Lastly when I looked at my vehicle there were greasy hand prints all over my front fenders which validated there was very little attention to detail when working on my vehicle. This was my first experience (and likely the last) with this dealership. I honestly went in hoping for the best as the location would work well for future maintenance needs but unfortunately they no longer look like an option for me.

Went in for a check engine light and a oil change came back out with a $2500 + estimate. I have a code reader and I was told I need a whole new fuel pump $1200, I needed a fuel pump module, spent $355 for the fuel module, module had short in it. Be aware either they were trying to up sell or the techs they have working are incompetent.

We bought my Ford Focus in 2014 brand new. In the first month, a fuse blew and luckily a friend of mine is a mechanic and fixed it for me. A year later, my sister got into a car accident so they needed to replace the door. They said it would only take 3 days. They ordered the wrong door and it ended up taking even longer due to the over sight. A few months later there was a recall on a part invoking my transmission, they said I could get it taken care of in about a month when the parts would come in. They didn’t take care of it until 4 months later. Customer service wise, they’re very friendly. But when it comes to getting my car serviced in the time frame they set for themselves, they have fallen extremely short. As of late, they seem to have gotten better but I’ve only been going for oil changes. I don’t often go to them for anything else at this point.

2009 Nissan Maxima I set an appointment to drop my car off early Monday morning to have my rear bumper fixed. I was told repairs would take 2-3 days, however my car was not given back until the Tuesday of the following week. Upon receiving my car I found that the trunk piece that you must take off to get the bumper off was not replaced. The cover along with the clips were sitting in my trunk. The customer service was a bright spot as there is always someone to greet you and are professional. They apologized for the inconvenience and allowed me to bring my car back the following day to put the cover they forgot back in place. My biggest issues were the time in which it took to get the repair done after being told it’d take only 2-3 days. And opening my trunk to find the cover and clips not being placed back in. But, besides that all else was good.

2 weeks ago my daughter had a check engine light come on in her 2011 Edge with 35,000 miles, she dropped it off at Sheridan where the car was purchased new by my aunt, they call a few hours later and said the car needed a new engine 7500$, I was in shock, I asked if they could call Ford for help since it only had 35k miles, I was told to call them myself, I than took the car to Porter Ford for a 2nd opinion, the installed timing chain for $2800, NOT an engine, Ford paid 2400 of the 2800$ repair. Glad we went to Porter

Let me start off by saying I’ve owned two Ford Fusions (currently in my second) and enjoy the brand. Ford is a solid company and overall am impressed with the degree of its loyalty to returning customers. With that said, I am baffled by my recent experience at this particular location. After discussing the basics with the sales manager, I was led to believe the dealership had “numbers” to discuss with me. When I appeared in person to ascertain and review such “numbers” I was quickly deferred to another sales person. While she was very personable, my time wasn’t valued. Following the test drive, the “numbers” still weren’t available. It wasn’t until after noting I would be leaving to make a standing appointment as I had been in the dealership about 3hours that I was presented with an offer. Laughable at best as I requested a new 2019 Ford Fusion Energy. The offer was for a loaner car current driven by the sales manager. While I do appreciate the offer, my initial request was not reasonably considered. I would have been opened to reviewing that offer in addition to the initial new car request. And this dealership offered about 2K less for my trade-in as compared to another dealership. Upon leaving, I asked the sales manager to follow up with the revised proposal as I could no longer wait. Rather than following up via email or phone, I received a prospect call four days later asking about my interest in a new car. Customers value a couple of things: their time, ability to actively communicate, and the belief their requests are honored. This dealership failed to meet the Ford Quality my family and I have known. There is no need to ask me to follow up with an email to some named person. You have my number and such. The folks here were pleasant and I wish no harm to them as I know sales can be a challenging market. My advisement: do better as Ford is a solid company. Gratefully, other dealerships are working with me and they are delivering creditably enjoyable experiences Ford is known for. Best regards.

I live in Maryland and my car broke down in Brooklyn, NY and it's not drivable so I decided to tow it to a dealership halfway to Maryland which is Delaware. I did a night drop off and in the morning I spoke with John and from that day everything gets taking care smoothly until my car gets fixed even I'm 100 miles away and just talking over the phone, unlike other dealership you are already waiting and still they don't care about the customer. My first visit to Sheridan because the Ford Dealership closet to me could not “fit me in” for 6 weeks. That group shall never service my car again (Porter). Sheridan was slammed by the recall, also, but somehow they succeeded in serving a bunch of us with courtesy, efficiency, and a dose of good humor (my favorite characteristic). They washed my car, changed the oil, fixed the recall and sent me on my way in s most respectable time. And they definitely have a new customer for good.

I am a woman, and it’s hard for me to trust anyone with my car. So this experience just makes it worse for me. Excellent service. Even with their computers temporarily down. Had my brakes fixed before noon. Even put clips on my bumper for no charge. Fixed the recall without me even having to ask!!! And washed it! The courtesy shuttle was easy and convenient. Checking out was super fast. Less than 5 minutes. At some dealers I’ve waited over 20 minuets just to pay. I just wish they were open on Saturday, but I can understand everyone likes to have a weekend.

The staff is lazy and incompetent plus my car broke in just over 72hrs plus they want to charge you for a loaner car. I'm losing money not having my car and have to pay insurance on a car I traded it because the title person can't do her job or call people back Edit: Keith and Ken took care of my mechanical issues but the office people are seriously lacking in honesty. I've yet to get my registration for my tags and the paper work was to of been filed soon as I got my inspection. I got it the day after I got my car and called to notify them. Left 2 messages and never received a call back from tag and title person. Now they are giving me the run around as to why they didn't do as they said they were. In MD if you drop insurance on a car and the tags are still registered to that vehicle you pay a fine. So I'm now going on my second month of paying insurance on a vehicle I no longer own. I bought the extended warranty and after constantly fighting with this place I got them to let me take my car to another dealer for my service needs. They have blocked me from commenting on their stuff on Facebook trying to warn people of their crappy customer service and horrible mechanics that takes 2 weeks to change an AC compressor and axle seal. You have been warned!

I've had my Ford Edge in for service a few times. A fuel tank recall was handled moderately well. Communication could have been better, but overall it was an ok experience. Currently there is an airbag recall, and the experience has been awful. I went in to talk to the service department and they were completely dismissive to me. Told me my problem was with Ford and not Sheridan. Zero empathy. People are dying because of this, I expected at least a little understanding. I was the only customer in the service area, and I was dismissed as if a troublemaker. I can't speak for sales, but service alone would keep me away from doing business here again. Treat me with respect and understand my concern, that shouldn't be too much to ask.

Had truck scheduled at 7AM for recall work. Service department said it would be 2 to 4 hours. I arranged for a ride. 6 hours later and they still had not started working on truck. Why should I inconvenience myself with early appointment if they won't honor appointment time. I took truck without work being done. Matt Slapp Subaru always has vehicle complete in stated time or before. If they produced a truck I would dump Ford. Be buying a new car next year. Sticking with Subaru. Much better service department plus free loaner cars.

Update 5/29:. Also found out they replaced the air filter with an incorrect one. WOW! They did, however pay half the cost of repairing the oil pan, but it took me saying that my mom bought one car and I leased two cars from them for them to agree to pay half. I can't even give them two stars because I shouldn't have had to say anything when this whole issue could have been avoided if they had just been honest with me from the beginning and said that they could not repaired this because they did not have the parts. If they were willing to repair it then they should have goteen a PO and I could have taken the car to Volkswagen across the street to repair it. When I bought the Volkswagen they promised me they would "take care of the last payment" of my previous car, which was a lease, and I would not have to make that payment. Speed ahead to the signing of the documents and of course they did not keep the promise and said that is not what they meant. As always, car sales people are scam artists. They replaced the brakes which was needed prior to picking it up, but just found out that they glued the oil pan together because low oil pressure light came on. Oil was leaking very badly. Took it to Volkswagen dealership and that's when they noticed all the glue. Instead of Sheridan telling me about the oil pan prior to picking up the car, they covered it up, which could have cost me more money than what it has. I brought my Mustang to them that I bought while in Tennessee to check on a problem where the car just died while driving. The service manager asked if he could keep the car a few days and I said yes. I asked them what they did to diagnose the problem and all they did was drive the car and connect it to their diagnostic computer. I'm not a mechanic but I can certainly tell you that not everything shows up on a diagnostic test. It's a computer (need I say more). They did not bother checking any fluids and what the issue ended up being was that I did not have enough engine fluid. Seriously, Sheridan, you never bothered to check the engine fluid? Maybe I should be a mechanic. My family and I have bought several cars from this dealership and all I can say is that their honesty and service SUCKS Now! It has gone downhill 1000%. They are more concerned about screwing the customer over then they are about customer satisfaction. How this place is now staying in business is beyond me. I will not recommend them to anyone. Had faith in them at one point but now no more. Better off buying from any other Ford dealership.

I bought a 2016 Ford Explorer XLT over the weekend. Customer service was sloooooooooow. I was in the dealership from 11am until after 3:30pm. When I received my vehicle it was given to me extremely dirty on the inside (despite waiting over an hour do it could be “detailed”) the only thing they did was wash the exterior. None of the windows were cleaned. Smudge marks were all over the sun roof in the backseat. There was old lollipop sticks behind the driver’s seat. Other wrappers. A blue slime on the floor mats. It was disgusting. Extremely disappointed. Shouldn’t feel this way 24 hours after a new car purchase.

Typical games you get at any dealerships, you say a price you want - the sales person disappears and comes back with a nearly insulting price, you walk out, they give a better - but still bad price either on your way out or the next day....etc etc..... Turns out I was negotiating on a car that wasn't even owned by Sheridan nor at their lot, so it could not be test driven.....The same car was already purchased by someone else while WE WERE STILL NEGOTIATING!!! I'm confused on how that could even happen??? Wasted 6 hours of time and left aggravated. Manager Tim was friendly, and at least appeared as if he genuinely cared. I had gotten a recall and my coolant flushed and I am happy to say it went well until I got my car and noticed a new scratch on it that wasn't previously there. I do not believe it was intentionally done since it was by my coolant but I was not pleased since I was not informed about it and it was left there even though it was very obvious since it was 2-3" long. The cost for the coolant flush package was also very expensive compared to their quotes I had received so that was another downside, I only went there since I needed the recall fixed.

Service area is horrible. Tara the only decent one in service dept. My truck has been in 5 times since June. They had my truck for 3 weeks the first go. When the transmission was acting up again when it was replaced 3 months prior. Check engine light continued to come on. They began guessing what the problems were. I have the extended warranty. Catalidac converter replaced, spark plugs, next day check engine light back on. This last time I left it 2 days. I was told they called Ford in Michigain they didn't know what was wrong they could smell the gas in the car but at this point they've been guessing. Great so for the last 5 months we've been guessing what's wrong with it. I asked to leave my truck out and I would pick it up that night. I took it to another Ford dealership who easily diagnosed the problem. We also have a ford code reader so we know what the error codes are. And when they say they would call you back they won't. You need to be on top of it.
