Katie in Hyundai service is the best! She is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My 2010 Elantra Touring needed an oil change and the tech recommended the transmission flush/refill as well. I was out within an hour and did not have an appointment before service.

I am not even willing to give one star. I had finalized the deal to buy a brand new car and had paid the deposit. They call me 2 days later and say something else. They don't stick to their words even after paying deposit. This incident has mentally tortured me. I don't trust them. Please be careful before buying car from them.

Francis Spence, our sales person, is one to whom our family has now returned to purchase our third family car. He and the team make you and your family feel comfortable and at easy about your decision. They never applys pressure and will answer all questions, without pushing their choice. I was encouraged to ask as many questions as possible and review all my options. The closing manager, Tim, was also very polite and informative. There were refreshments, a nice waiting area -with TV, and small children items for their amusement.

I had a great experience with Porter Hyundai. I bought a New Hyundai Sonata with them and the process was pretty smooth. Jeff Scott was really courteous and helpful, he went out of his way to get me the color of the car I wanted. Once I had the car, he went over and explained each and every features, helped me set up an android auto/apple play account and so on. Overall my experience is positive and I would recommend Porter Hyundai and Jeff Scott!

I’ve been to the dealership several times for repairs and have been disappointed each time. We took our car in for a factory recall (replacing an ABS sensor) then the next day the battery has two dead cells. We have it towed back and they claim it’s not their fault. We eat the cost of the new battery plus tow and forget about it. Ten months later another dead battery; check it with a multimeter and it’s got zero volts meaning something separated no the inside. When I pulled the battery to return it, as it’s still covered by the warranty, I found out they didn’t even bolt it down. Take it there and they can’t test it because their battery testing machine can’t read a completly fried battery (my $10 multimeter could). They fork over a new battery, but the kicker is when we asked them why wasn’t it secured when they installed the new battery last time their response was “if the holddown wasn’t there when we received the car, we don’t put it on”. In other words they couldn’t take the time to inform the customer they needed a $9 part that would have saved them from replacing a $90 battery ( the could have at least put a zip tie around the battery and let me know I needed to fix it) As a bonus they also did not put on the battery insulating sleeve, which I saved from the original battery before it was scraped, claiming since the sleeve was old it wouldn’t fit the new battery. When I was installing the battery hold down I was able to slip the sleeve on no problem. This entire conversation was had with the service manager of the dealership.

My husband and I did business once again with this location on Friday, July 25, 2014. We turned in our Genesis lease to purchase another lease...a Santa Fe. We spent several hours at Porter learning about the Santa Fe, test driving the vehicle and finalizing the paperwork for our purchase. Our Sales Consultant, Jack Dempsey was one of the easiest and knowledgeable consultants to do business with. This is extremely important to us since making a vehicle purchase is somewhat of a challenge at times. Jack has a terrific personality....it was like sitting across from my kitchen table with a long time friend...that's how comfortable this deal was. The entire Porter staff were professional and made the purchasing process a pleasant one. I certainly will continue to do business with Porter. Hyundai has already sold itself to me years ago, it is doing business with Porter that helps me love my Hyundai's even moreso. Thank you all for a great experience.

Was super stressed out about having to buy or lease another car for myself while still having to pay my husband's auto loan still. Jeff Scott was so helpful with my needs. Took my car in for a regular service thinking it only needed an oil change. Got a 20% off coupon in an email, great. They called me saying the car needed new break pads on both back tires and two bulbs replaced. Wasn’t expecting that, but ok. Over the phone they estimated that it would be about $400 total. I went in to pay and they charged me $500. They then told me that they couldn’t apply the coupon as that has to be applied when I first bring the car in for some reason. No mention of that in the email. Why lie to me about how much the service will cost? Why can’t the coupon be applied at checkout? Not taking my car here when it’s due for its next service.

Went in for an oil change and a light bulb replacement. Like most mechanics they try to push you to fix and change everything. When I walked in the receptionist was friendly for the most part. It got uncomfortable when one of the mechanics called and the receptionist aggressively told him that she didn't have time for him and hung up. The other customers had the typical annoyed look on their faces. Overall everything was done pretty quickly and I didn't have any issues getting out of there.

I can not say enough great things about the recent emergency service I received at Porter Hyundai. I was traveling on vacation with my family from out of town. My Hyundai EQUUS (now equivalent to today’s G90) developed a problem in the front air suspension system (at 65k miles of service). Mike, the service manager, worked tirelessly to help me out of this predicament and saved my vacation. He rearranged the schedule of his specialty technician (who was “EQUUS certified”) to help facilitate this repair. [Bringing him in after hours and on the weekend]. He contacted the underwriters of the extended service warranty company, which protected my car. He explained the situation I was in and was able to waive their lengthy inspection and review process. He contacted Hyundai parts departments to locate these “rarely-requested” high-end replacement parts. When he learned there would be a 2 day lead time in acquiring these parts, I was offered a loaner vehicle to keep my vacation on track. All of this was done for my benefit without ever meeting me before, without ever selling me a car before, and was done professionally. Amazingly, I was later to learn that this Hyundai location does not even carry the Genesis (G series) car line. Despite this fact, my EQUUS repair has been perfect. Hyundai corporate should take notice of this truly exceptional service experience—it illustrates the finest hallmark of the Hyundai brand! I returned to Hyundai to purchase my second car from this particular location. Very hesitant since I feel like the dealership wasn't honest or forthcoming when they tried passing a service vehicle as new for my 2015 model and when an issue arose within a week of purchase (no physical damage) , the dealership refused to do anything to take care of me. Still I returned, since I like the warranty hyundai offers. The sales representative I worked with showed 0 interest in wanting to show me the vehicles I came in to look at. Made 0 effort to even ask if I would like to test drive the car. Took me straight to talk numbers. When I saw how low they offered for my vehicle (a hyundai) and stated that it was over 2 grand less than what other dealerships had offered for a competitors car, I asked for a copy of the quote to take with me. Instead the representative took 15 minutes to come back with his sales manager who was very pushy trying to close the deal. I am now a proud owner of a Mazda from Nucar, which is 10 times more luxurious, more features, for less of a payment. Go ask for Mike!

I was given a quote over the phone for replacing my rear brakes that sounded reasonable and comparable to the replacement I had several years ago. When the bill came, I was charged nearly $150 more than the estimate. I had specifically asked on the phone if the quote included parts and labor, and I was told yes. Conveniently, the $150 upcharge was marked as 'labor' on my bill. When I questioned what I was quoted over the phone, I was told that they must have been mistaken. Just beware of the estimate you are given and get it in writing.

Great experience! had my 2009 Sonata serviced here after the charging system warning light came on. I thought it could be my alternator. They were able to take a look and it turned out to be only the drive belt. From my first phone call to them, to picking up my car after they fixed it the experience was great. Everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous. I highly recommend Porter Hyundai.

My wife and I had a great experience purchasing a new 2011 Santa Fe from Dave Burgess. He was very thorough and a pleasure to deal with, not pushy at all. Tell him that Rob Davis sent you! I cannot speak to the Service Dept. yet, but will let you know, as we purchased the service plan. UPDATE 2/15/2014: I don't think we'll do the service plan again as we've had to wait over 2 hours for an oil change. I've changed the oil myself a few times as the 20 min drive and wait isn't worth it. Otherwise, we love our Santa Fe and are currently thinking about updating to a 2014 for the 3rd row seating as the family grows.

The employees were fairly pleasant but be warned your car might not actually get fixed here and you will be charged for things you don't need. I brought my sonata in to have my headlights electrical checked because one side was not working. The bulb was not burned out and worked perfect in the other side. I waited 4 hours and had to call for over an hour to get someone to pick up the phone to see if my car was done. When I finally got ahold of them they said that I didn't install the bulb properly, and I caused it to blow. They wanted to charged me 83$ to replace it. They told me you could see it had burn marks on it. That's how I know no one even looked at my headlight, because the bulb still looked brand new when I took it home and looked at it after. I also tried it in the other side when I got home just to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the bulb was fine. They completely lied to me and never even looked at my headlight. I don't know if they were being sexist and just assumed I'm a girl who didn't know how to replace a bulb properly (so females beware), or they were just lazy. Either of which are completely unacceptable and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Purchased a used car on Monday July 10th. Engine light turned on that night. Needs a catalytic converter $889. They sold me a car that can't pass emmissions and won't do a thing about it. I wouldn't buy a used car here. And ... it just got worse. I also have to replace a CV joint. MD inspection is identical to DE. So no way this should have happened. Another $180 down.

The prices for services were reasonable but what set it apart for me was the printed personalized service inspection sheet I received along with my receipt. It details services that are in good repair, services that will need future attention, and services that need immediate attention. Great for a blue collar person like myself who needs to budget his hard earned dollars. Additionally the maintenance manager sent me a text the next day to make sure that I was satisfied with the service his team had provided. No other dealership has ever bothered to follow up on their work before. Most just want to take your money and be done with you. Special thanks to Rachel for her thoughtfulness helping a first time client.

Well.....my experience was like something out of the twilight zone! Visited this place because I was looking for a car and the saleswoman that helped me that day really struggled to get it together. The car I looked at wouldn't start...so it was given a jump....the saleswoman shared a story about how she waited till the very last minute to get gas while on vacation and had to "coast" to the pump.....and guess what? It happened while we were test driving the vehicle!!! The car literally stopped at the pump....shut down....wouldn't shift gears....it died!!!! We sat in the car while she begged for a jump...jumper cables....and she even had my boyfriend pish the car away from the pump....only for it not to start ! Someone from the dealership had to pick is up from the Wawa....which should have been done sooner.....but she didn't want to "look bad" because it was her 4th day there. That day sucked!

I needed two tires replaced which usually means call ahead and make sure they have the tires and then they order them. I was also due for my warranty service and there was a recall on my car for a fuel switch. I naturally wanted it done all in one trip but I wasn't expecting it on that day. They made it happen and i got a free loner as per my extended warranty. when I was done with my day I returned the loner and picked up my car. I was totally satisfied and definitely will recommend them for service and repair.

I would of rated this place a 0 if I could please DO NOT go to this place for any serious problem with your car they don't make sure the things are fixed nor do they care about whats wrong I took my car there four months ago. I still do not drive my car any one because of this dealership. I would advise you to go to a better dealer. I'm trying to say all this so you do not have to through all they I still am. Sad to say this, all I wanted was my car to be fixed. They made me deal with it after they refunded my money.?

I want to apologize for an earlier very bad review that I wrote earlier today. I was very frustrated and instead of asking to speak with the manager, I wrote a horrible review of service at the Newark Porter Hyundai. I am truly sorry for writing such a scathing review. Once, I spoke to the manager, Mike Bistline, he explained to me what was going on with my car and helped me to see what was happening. My car was fixed and Mike went above and beyond to make the situation better. I apologize to all who I shown my frustration to.
