Drove down from suburban Philly to look at a specific used vehicle on various websites (a 2017 VW Passat). I knew nothing about the dealership, planned on making another stop after to check out a similar vehicle in Maryland. The car was exactly as advertised, Tom H. could not have been more accommodating. Took a quick test drive, Jacob from used cars took a look at my current vehicle, which I never thought I would trade-in, figured on selling privately. 30 minutes later I was cancelling 2nd trip, purchased the Passat and traded in my ride down, thanks to excellent pricing on purchase and trade-in vehicle. Was never pressured, easiest car transaction ever! They detailed car and filled tank while waiting on paperwork, 2 hours from start to finish was driving home in car I spent a week or so looking for. Great experience, job well done by all at Porter Ford.

So I left a nasty review in the heat of the moment and I have realized that sometimes things are out of the hands of some of the ppl that the review directly effects. Porter Ford has been very good to my family, my mother bought her car in 2010 and has had numerous good experiences. I should have reviewed them as a whole and not just one bad experience. Thank u Porter for showing your concern and apology for a bad experience. The way the aftermath was handled should be the key factor as well as me and my being unhappy with my wait time. I am human and I do understand that some things cannot be avoided. Then there are times that things can be. Again I do not want to one experience to define my relationship with Porter Ford. The staff was very apologetic to me in person and courteous.

Took my fusion in for routine , oil change, asked to check tire for leak and patch if needed, also tire mobility alert light was on, got in my car after being told it was ready turned key same alert was on , went back in told service advisor she sent tech out he said the canister for tire repair was probably expired sent me to the parts dept . after I bought a new one he was kind enough to replace it in the parking lot. The next day my air pressure was low and I had to add air , found nail jutting out of tire that I requested them to check. Wondering if I actually had an oil change, will be taking my car to someone trustworthy next time. Oh they did recommend rear brake job while my car was in shop, so glad I didn't get that done !!

After visiting what feels like 10,000 car dealerships - we stopped by Porter and I could tell the difference immediately. Chris is approachable and friendly - and he also has strong business acumen. And they really were able to work a miracle with the financing - a dramatically lower interest rate than any of the previous dealerships. The whole team was just friendly and wonderful. Pretty sad. We have a 2016 lease and in the past 6 months it has been in the shop twice. First axle seal & second trans flex plate. Total in shop for just short of 4 weeks. Never offered rental. Feel Ford owes us one month lease payment because we did not have use of vehicle. NOT HAPPY

we purchased a rebuilt transmission from Porter , it lasted 2 weeks , that was in September 2018, we recently received notice we would be credited for the transmission , their customer service is almost as bad as their transmissions , which we wont use anymore , no jasper's for us , along with fords alternators that have the pulleys fall off, ford here's a better idea , make parts that don't fail , and if they do get it done for the customer ,

So this was my first new car buy - I bought some previous used cars and got screwed over royally. I was hesitant to go through the purchase for fear of that. I was going through talking with various dealerships but after talking with Chris, he was willing to work with me and actually LISTENED to what I wanted. He didn't try to sell me something else or try to get me into something outside of my budget. Both he and Drew helped me get not only the vehicle I wanted but the payment/interest rate I was hoping for (which I was not expecting given my credit). I was at the dealership MAYBE an hour, a little more just because it was getting detailed. While sitting with the finance manager, who explained everything to me and answered every single, possibly even silly question I had, he also told me about the business; specifically, that the location has been family owned and operated since around 1925. After completing my paperwork, Chris walked me around the dealership, introduced me to essentially everyone, and made me feel so welcome. Every single person was just as excited as I was about getting a new car which was really fun. Goes back to the family owned and operated aspect- felt taken care of, like (as cliche as this sounds) a member of the family. In the beginning, I was Miss Melissa Hatten, by the end I was "Lis." Chris made sure I was completely satisfied with everything about the car and even helped me grab my Ezpass when I left it in my trade in. While my requests were simple, for an oil change, routine inspection and check on my breaks, I have to say I was very impressed with their service. From the receptionist answering the phone, to Ramon who did the initial check in, to Justin as the service rep, and Jeff driving the shuttle, everyone had a professional and friendly attitude and really answered all of my questions with patience. My husband is looking for a “fun” car to share with our son, that they can take to car shows. We already own a Lexus, Mercedes, and 2 Infinitis . They’re researching their options and decided to look at the Mustang GT 350, or GT. Upon entering the dealership, we were asked if we’re prepared to purchase today. I’ve purchased numerous high end vehicles costing more than a Mustang. Not one salesperson has ever asked me that. We agreed to test drive a Mustang GT. My son and I weren’t allowed to sit in the passenger seat during the test drive, as the sales person said he has to ride up front, “in case there are any problems”. Again, I’ve never experienced that. For the test drive, they stayed in a 35mph zone and never got an opportunity to see if they actually liked the car. If you’re looking for great customer service, this wasn’t it. Go see Troy at Porter Chevy. He’s the definition of excellent customer service. I now don’t have to wonder why there are so many Mustangs for sale and so few Camaros.

I had a very bad experience with these people which I never forget and forgive.. I bought 2015 pre-certified car which was holding 275 points carmax certified. There was a major deffect in transmission where car was stopping suddenly after continously riding 30 miles. The response was vogue when I reported the same saying it is a machine no one can't guarantee and you can trade out if you need He threatened me saying sell this car for this so n so price if not we ll not buy.. Overall they cheated me by selling fault car with huge loss which i could not able to bare @Google: I don't know why there is no Reply option to Owner response. At least let me write that here. Spoke to manager whom you have given details here, but no luck. they do speak on business line by selling fault car and I lost $2000 just for buying from you guys. I never forgive and forget.

Terrible customer service. Why do I bother to make an appointment? Arrived very early for my 10am appointment to have my air bag replaced. Various websites indicate this service should take 1-1/2 to 2 hours to complete, so I had planned to remain with my car while the repair was made as I had other errands that I planned to handle after the repair. Shuttle took me home, which is a 45 minute drive to get to, after the service adviser told me my car would not be ready until the end of the day, but in the next breath told me it would be done in time for me to attend my grandson's baseball game at 3:45. Service adviser called me at home at 3pm to say my car would not be completed that day. Said he could send the shuttle to pick me up and I could rent a car, but then I would miss the ballgame. Rental section closes at 5pm, so if I went to the game I would be too late to pick up a car. Told Craig I would have my son-in-law bring me up to Newark when the car was ready the next day. I could go on with other complaints I have with Porter customer service, but I'm sure I would run out of space before I finished.

Edit: 4 months later, my car passed emissions after they claimed my entire exhaust system needed replacement. Remember this as you read through my review Specifically with regards to their service center. I brought my car here twice. The first time due to and alternator failure and the second due to an exhaust issue. They cheated me once and tried to cheat me twice. The first time, when my alternator failed, they said that my battery was also kaput. I argued that it was less than 3 months old. They wouldn't budge. I said OK, put in the new battery, but give me the old one back. After a lot of back and forth, they agreed. That 'kaput' battery is now powering another car - It just needed a charge. I made the mistake of bringing it in a second time. This time their was a rattling on my exhaust - It turns out it was a rattling heat shield. But they claimed that it was a bad catalytic converter that had infected the whole exhaust system, so the catalytic converter, exhaust pipe and muffler would need to be replaced for a small for of $1700. I refused and brought the car home. 2,000 miles later and the car is running fine and the rattle disappeared with the help of some zip ties. They also recommended a coolant flush, fuel filter change and carbon buildup removal. The coolant was flushed 10,000 miles ago and the fuel filter was changed a few months ago. Both experiences were with one service advisor, so maybe they aren't all bad, but this is my experience

They would not honor their own ad and tried to sell me the a new truck with only about 4K off as opposed to the over $12k off their ad clearly stated. Wasted my Saturday. Bait & Switch. Beware!!!

He was extremely helpful and we set up for me to meet with him that same day. I went there and he met with me immediately and did not leave me waiting as most dealerships have done before. He was very thorough and broke down every price and option for the trucks that he was showing me. I ended up buying the Fusion because I wanted something larger with more airbags for safety. The Fiesta was a nice little car but I'd rather have something I'm more comfortable in. This is shady place. I did multiple maintenance there just because I bought my car there. But every time after maintenance I got some problems. Here were my experiences of my last three visits to the shop. 1. Three days after a regular maintenance (40,000 miles if I remember correctly), I got a flat tire. I checked and no piercing object was found. 2. I went to the shop and asked for an explanation for the flat tire. They just ignored me and tried to charge me a new tire. Luckily I found a brochure right on the desk saying that the cost to replace a flat tire after maintenance (in two weeks if I remember correctly) is covered. The stuff denied first, but after I showed him the brochure he eventually agreed. And guess what, in about one week, that exact same tire broke again. I did not bother to go to their place and went to a local tire shop and replaced all four tires. Now it's been a year and they are doing all good. 3. This was the last visit to their shop. I did another maintenance (45,000 miles or something) there. (I probably just hate myself and made the decision to go to them again). They replaced the brake discs, and they broke around 50,000 miles. As I write this comment I just find how lucky I was not get killed by them. All these accidents happened when I was driving slowly on a local road. Hard to imagine what would happen if I was driving on the highway. Also, their attitudes towards me is really bad. They like to ignore me. They just didn't listen when I tried to say something. It's always like "wait a sec", "hold on", what kind of complicated stuff on their computer can take them this much attention? Probably because I'm Asian? There was one time I complained the noisy wiper after they replaced it, the stuff did not say anything and just charged me a new pair of wipers??? And of course, after they replaced it the noise continued. I had to go to a local shop and replaced them again. Now that I have moved away from this area, I can finally make this comment. I will never buy a ford again. I should have known all these as the turning signal light broken down in a month after I bought this car back in 2013. What the hell.

After visiting nearly a dozen dealerships in one weekend I concluded my truck shopping here and left frustrated. This dealership gave me one of the lowest offers on my car out of all the dealers by lowballing me $1,500 over most competitor's! I even brought in paperwork reflecting a local companies (Carmax) cash offer to BUY my car outright for over $7,000 and ran internet searches like KBB to validate my car's value, and still got a $5,000 trade in AFTER negotiating up. To humor myself, I attempted negotiations of a truck I was eyeballing that was last years "new" model to get the better incentives and did the math and concluded my estimated monthly payment would be under $450/mo with my personal banks interest and the listed price minus incentives I qualified for.....NOPE, I guess the math didn't work out for them so was told there's nothing they can do to get me to the numbers I had....which literally had nothing subtracted from the total other than incentives and the insulting 5,000 trade in value. What the heck.

I was recently looking for a specific car within a specific price range. I know I can be picky, but I wanted to be sure my money went where I wanted it to go. Looking online I saw something close at Porter Ford. Over the course of a few days I exchanged a number of emails with Rodney Redmond who went above and beyond his duty. He was timely in his replies, patience, informative and friendly. Living in the DC area it was over an hour and a half drive. Rodney met me for my first visit to look at a car, we went over a few numbers and I left feeling good about the prospect of the car. I had a few things I was hoping to change about the car (scuff marks on the leather, addition of a remote start) and Rodney walked me through the process to ensure I was getting exactly what I wanted. He set up the paperwork for the loan process to speed up things on the day of pick-up. He organized the return of my leased vehicle. He did it all. Just recently bought a C- Max from the good folks at Porter. Because we were driving from Philadelphia, it was important that all the facts be known before hand and that the car be correctly represented in the the communications we had. We did not want to have any surprises after making the trip. Purchase Advisor, Tom Hildebrandt was completely forthcoming and available. When we drove up, late in the business day, Tom had has the car prepped and it was parked right at the entrance. No time was wasted on a sales dance; Tom took us on a long test drive that included my wife and I both taking turns at the wheel. All this without any guarantee that we would be buying the car. The asking price actually beat the price advertised online and the paper work went smoothly and quickly--no pressure, no gimmicks. Rob Dollar, the finance manager, was also a gentleman. And the free tank fill up at the end was just the icing on the cake. A great experience to go with a great car.
