I appreciated the ease in dropping off our vehicle and keys after hours in your well lit, clean and safe vestibule area. I was greeted at the end of the next day by a friendly young lady at the customer service desk. Icing on the cake was to walk out a side door to a drive-thru pick-up area where a kind and considerate attendant brought my vehicle to me, assisted me into the vehicle and wished me a good day! :-) :-) Great Service!

I use this service department regularly and my wife and I have bought several vehicles from their dealership. I am not sure what is going on over there, I called to check the status of a part that was supposed to be in over a week ago. The female that answered at 8:15 this morning was going to call me back and let me know what was going on. NO call back by 3:30. So I called again to find out. I was transferred literally 9 times, 8 of which without being told. All to find out that my part is in and they forgot to call. Then I was transferred again 2 times to schedule an appointment to have my part installed. The female at the service desk again transferred me again without telling me. Bottom line, I still was not able to talk to anyone who could schedule me an appointment. I left a message for the service manager, we will see where this gets me!?!?!

My salesman Francis was friendly and knowledgeable about the product and what 2016 vehicles he had available on the lot. He was not pushy and he did not use jargon, which I found helpful. Throughout the price negotiation process, he was respectful and listened to what I was saying. He explained the functions of the vehicle very well and he was patient as he explained the various components of the sale. It was a pleasure working with him. Everyone at the dealership was friendly. It was the easiest vehicle that I have ever purchased and I got a very good deal.

My experience with them was terrible. If I could give a negative star I would. I had to have my 2011 Hyundai Sonata towed to their shop after the engine blew up with only 42K miles on it. I regularly changed the oil and checked the oil. The last oil change was in April and the engine blew in July. Oil only had 2800 miles on it. No leakage at all and oil level was checked a week before the engine failed. Porter looked it over and originally said it would be covered. Two days later they said it wouldn't be covered because oil filter was loose. After fighting their claim for two months took the car to different garage to get engine replaced. I had a motor put in with 4K less miles then what they offered at half the price. Also when they had the car I asked numerous times for them to pull the skid plate off to look at area around filter because I did not buy their claim that the oil leaked out from around filter and I wanted them to look for oil around filter. They said they did but I know for a fact that their didn't when I got car to other garage we checked it and found that not only was the skid plate never removed there wasn't a single drop of oil around the oil filter or on the skid plate directly under the oil filter or on the fan housing that is less than two inches from the oil filter. If oil was shooting out of the filter at 40psi there would be oil all over the place. I have photos to prove this. I have no doubt in my mind that they tampered with the filter to void the warranty. I am still going though Hyundai to resolve this issue and plan on taking this further.

Very poor. when i went in to get the details of a car one guy said you need to be a citizen of US to get the finance. Actually i thought of buying the car upfront he is not even interested whether i finance or i do upfront. Even they didnot even ask me to sit. The guys who work there thinks as if they are the owners of Chevrolet. Really disappointed and very bad experience.

Francis did an outstanding job. He sized up his customer, made a suggestion for a car and payment, and eventually we came around to the selection he had made. Of course, GM could support him somewhat better with a fuller inventory. We had some questions about the availabilities of cars but then they were beyond Francis' control. Plus the difference in octane for the vehicles was a major decision factor in our choice. We would have selected a model with some additional options but the wife is really satisfied with our final selection.

You have heard of rude ignorant and down right sneaky knifing . The worst of the worst. That is what you will find in the used corner lot.. Salesman name changes all of the sudden.. I talked to the guy three time today and now no one works there with that name.. The sales man was ignorantly rude like he could care less.. Didn't unlock the truck. Made me come get them from him while he was leaning on the next truck.. Can't buy a warranty ( ? ) . And the A/C is shot.. Not so happy, the person that checked my car in said I was there to soon for my first free service, I explained I was going to Florida, she said I could get it done there, I said at Disney, she said she would do me a favor, just this one time, but no tire rotation, I reminded her I was driving to Florida, she reiterated, No tire rotation, I hope there will replace these tires when they wear uneven, I, imagine she was doing me a favor. I have a scratch on the truck, they said they would repair, but when I have tried to get it done, even if I make an appointment for a month from now, they might not get to it right away, it's a scratch, they cannot confirm that I will have the car back in a week. I think my salesman, is great could not be happier. But it's all down hill from there, the management team is terrible. I hate to say this but my next car will probably be foreign, they want the business, and want to help, or you can go to Porter Nissan, my wife has a Nissan, and all I ever here is yes we can, how can we help, and it's good to see you, how can I help you today.

Sleazy Used Car salesmen all the way! I contacted them about a Jeep and said I could leave my work in MD early if they held the car for me...I get there exactly when I said I would (I even texted him when I was leaving to let him know I was on the way)...only to find out that David Helenic never actually held the car for me and that there was already someone trying to buy it! Then he told me that he has been in sales longer than I had been alive and that he prides himself on being a good sales man, so I should wait to see if the person who they are currently trying to sell the car does not end up buying it. Basically making me drive up there to become a stalking horse so they can sell the car to another. Way to NOT do what you say, way to NOT care about potential customers or their time, and way to Keep the sleazy sales guy attitude alive David

While the service was not bad, the issue with my vehicle has not been resolved. The service technicians said they were not able to duplicate the issue, and decided to just give the vehicle back to me instead of investigating further. While I know an intermittent issue is not easy to resolve, I did provide video proof of the three messages that I was receiving on the dashboard message center and the error light that was coming on. I was never told if GM was ever contacted to see if this is something they have seen in the past (google search would indicate that I am not the first person to deal with an issue with the traction control and stabilitrak system) and whether they possibly had a diagnostic plan they could provide. After taking my vehicle back, the error messages and light returned 5 miles away from the dealership. I needed my vehicle for the weekend, so I decided to deal with it and bring it back the following week. I did that, and my vehicle was kept for over 4 days, and again I was told that after 38 total test miles in those 4 days, the techs were unable to duplicate the issue so they told me to pick my vehicle up (still not fixed) again. It has been 2 1/2 days since I picked it up and the messages/error light came back again today. There is obviously an issue with my vehicle, and I don't completely fault the dealership shop for not getting this fixed, even after 6 total days (two separate times they've had it) of being able to diagnose it. I'm concerned something more extreme than the messages showing up, loss of traction control system, loss of stabilitrak system, and acceleration that becomes very jumpy will happen in the future. I am disappointed that I'm basically being told that GM is not going to work on the issue unless it is actively happening. This is costing me money in a rental car for the first time I brought the vehicle in for service, personal time, and time I have to remove myself from work.

Took my car that I bought from Porter Chevrolet for service. They messed up my car so that the steering wheel is off center. I brought it immediately back. They never did the alignment they were supposed to do, and now they are telling me it's going to be more to replace more parts and I'll have to bring it in again. There are new banging noises after I just spent over $3,000 and left it at the shop for 2 days. I am changing my review from a one star to 4 stars. I met with Rob the service manager. He took ownership of the mistakes that happened with my vehicle. He also found a significant amount of rust with the frame. He spoke with his boss and they helped me with trading in the equinox for a new pre owned vehicle. Overall I am happy, and I appreciate that Porter took steps to make it right.

Not my first visit to the service dept., normally all goes smoothly. Yesterday was started with OK check-in, polite by not friendly. I had made an appointment online, with the belief I would get in and out quickly, in the past I have been told to just come in whenever was convenient. I arrived 10 minutes early, but it took a full 2 hours to do an oil change. I thought It was going to be a while when I found only 2 open seats in the waiting area, needless to say I will consider using another company for my next oil change. I asked at check out why it took so long and was just told people were ahead of me, again, polite but not friendly.

Randy does not treat you like a client, he is the most straight forward, no gimmick salesman I've ever dealt with. I brought my Saturn Ion in to have it looked at and possibly fix an issue with my air conditioner leaking into my car. It was brought in, relatively quickly serviced, and had a good interaction with Misty (a service associate/manager/paperworker) during the process. My car was "drained" for a good hour and I was told there was another control assembly associated with the air conditioner that needed to be replaced and that Misty would contact their aftermarket dealers and get back to me. I called every 2-3 days for the next two weeks, while there is still a developing puddle in my front passenger foot area, talking with Misty who never contacted her aftermarket dealers, and never followed through with calling me back. While I greatly appreciate immediate customer service when I was there in person, if someone says they will call me back (especially on multiple occasions), I expect to be given a call. I will not be taking my car back to Porter Chevrolet, and don't recommend them.

Went there 3 years ago looking for truck. Sales person I talked to that day didn't even so much return my call or email or even attempt to follow up with me after exchanging contact info. I bought a truck 3 days later from another dealer. Went there last week to look for a car for my wife. Sales person let me look at a car. It was close to closing so said I got his card and contact info and said would email him what I'm looking for with Vin#'s of comps. Not even a call or response to my email this time either. I emailed Williams Chevrolet and they called immediately. I have an appointment with Williams Chevrolet this evening. Just stating the facts.

The service experience initially was going well. However, when I came back to pick up my car from having the work done (parts under the bumper replaced, and bumper repainted) the bumper was painted the wrong color red. We told the staff and our rep that the color was wrong, but they said that's how it was when it came in; basically pushing us out the door. The next business day I had to go back to speak to the manager, and he noticed immediately that it wasn't the correct red. Not to mention that there we footprints on my trunk mat from when they worked on it. After picking up the car again, the paint color was correct this time, but I noticed that the right tail light had been chipped in the corner. This was replaced at no charge, but it was another trip to the shop. The rentals were great, so that was much appreciated. I won't be going back for any further body work, and I won't recommend it to anyone. I also informed my insurance company of the issues that I had as well.

Don't take this the wrong way. Porter is friendy and efficient with good staff to assist you, clean reception area with a comfortable waiting room and WiFi, as well as a full vehicle report... and you are going to pay for all these extras, and there is nothing wrong with that if you have the finances for it. Having purchased a car from Porter, I get free oil changes. But, when it comes to other vehicle maintenance and repair, I go to a smaller independent mechanic to save money. Porter's customer service is impeccable and worthy of your business if you are living comfortably.

I’ve visited them 2 times and both times i was dissatisfied . This last time which was a week ago . I got my car back , they said they fixed the problem but the problem recurred and i called to let them know bout it and they give me run around , left voice messages and no one responds. I’ll be taken my services somewhere else and i advise everyone to do the same. It’s hard out here to get good customer service (smh) now i have to go somewhere else to find out why my stabilitrak service warning keeps popping up n grinding noise keeps happening everytime i turn my wheel

Made an appointment for 11am to look at my windshield wiper and see why a light came on in my car they told me it’d be $119.95 for each issue just to look at them and that everyone was at lunch so it wouldn’t get into the shop until 1pm which left me wondering why they had me make an appointment for 11am!! I waited until 1:30 just for them to tell me it’d Be $600 to fix a windshield wiper and that I need a new battery. Mind you I just got 75,000 mileage service an oil change etc on my vehicle a month before so why wasn’t this said to me then when they supposedly check everything on your vehicle! After spending 3 hours there leaving at 2pm and being out of $200 for a windshield wiper and battery that is not fixed I will never be going here EVER AGAIN

Recent repairs to my 2010 Chevy Traverse started very frustratingly but turned out very well. The dedication of Rich and the rest of the service department stayed on the hidden problem and finally resolved the issue with the ABS and Stabilitrac. They did not charge any more than the initial visit and diagnosis and worked with me until the real problem of faulty wiring. I certainly will keep Porter in mind for my future purchase.

I just had the best sales experience ever. Dealt with Pete in the used car sales. Worst mistake ever. I honestly believe I did more work figuring things out for my truck than he did. He does not deserve what ever commission he got. Every step of the way was like pulling teeth. I should also add he forgot to register my truck and send my tags. So i went a whole week and half without being able to drive my new truck due to expired tags and registration. I had to send him my car insurance information atleast 4 times because I guess he didn't know what he was doing when trying to get my tags. He then proceeded to lie to me saying they were on the way and they weren't. Then after about a week I started dealing with his manager because Pete was to dumb to do his job. Then instead of overnighting my week late tags they 3 day Ship it. Worst car buying experience ever. If the truck was not exactly what I wanted I would have left . Save yourself the headache and go else where.

The auto body shop at Porter Chevrolet is a joke. I took my car in to get the front bumper fixed and painted. They took over a week to complete it giving me a run around about when it would be complete. Finally the day comes they say I can pick my car up. I asked for them to keep it inside until I get there. They said no problem but to my amazement when I arrived it was outside. I was frustrated to say the least. Finally someone comes out to go over the car with me. Before I could even really look at it the representative walked away and told me to have a good day. Fast forward to getting my car detailed and ceramic coat applied a few months later. The detail shop calls me and says whoever painted the front bumper did a horrible job. There was dirt in the paint, fish eyes and that the bumper would have to be repainted. I called the auto body shop and I was told a manager would be reaching back out to me. Nothing. Haven't heard anything. Now I have an appointment with another auto body shop to get an estimate to have it fixed. But I'm out over $1,000 because Porter Chevrolet couldn't get it right. Our family used to only come here to buy vehicles but after this horrible experience I wouldn't recommend the body shop or dealership to anyone. Very frustrated!!

I went into Porter Chevrolet a week ago to talk about trading-in my current car and purchasing a new one. I was directed to Randy Day who couldn't have been any more helpful. He answered all of my questions (which were a lot), and was patient with me throughout the week long process. In the end, I traded in my car and leased a brand new 2014 Chevy Cruze. I wasn't too fond on leasing in the past, but that was mostly because I didn't fully understand the reason to leasing. 0 star is understimate for the service department. Service department is a rip off. I called to get diagnosis for my car that had airbag light on. I was told over the phone that cost $89 to run. I took the car in person and they said I have to pay 170 to do that, then they ran the diagnosis and call me that they need to replace clock spring for 350( which it’s $32 online). I said to the woman if for sure that will turn off the airbag light , do what’s needed to get done. Then she called me again saying that didn’t fix the issue and they need to replace the airbag module which they wanted to charge me $900( still it’s $320 online). I told Robert (service manager which had very bad attitude and absolutely doesn’t know any customer service)to take out the part they put it in the car and I will just pay for diagnosis.he got very smart and said I have to pay it or pick up the car. This place is a ripoff and I had such a horrible experience.DO NOT go to this place... I will definitely contact corporate...

Due to my current situation, I have decided on the Chevy Suburban as our next vehicle. I went to this Chevy dealer on 10/20 to look at one because I have needs due to my military disability and my family size & I wanted to ensure that the Suburban would fit those needs. I walked through the showroom and to the lot with the SUVs & trucks and looked for 10 minutes. My issue is that not one person asked me if I needed help, offered to show me the options, or talk to me about cost. Employees looked me in my face without even a hello and as I slow-walked back through the showroom, they looked at me again and put their heads down. I left without help and was frustrated. I looked to Chevy because they supposedly "Care about military". I would hate to think that being black had anything to do with the lack of service, but because no one said a thing to me it did cross my mind. I have contacted Chevy's corporate customer service and they have heard from Porter either. It has been a week with no response. I'm taking my business elsewhere!

What's a green light warning? Seems like an Oxymoron. 6/32 of tire tread is about 2x the minimum and 6 mm for relatively new brakes seems strange for a 'warning'. So, 'Define a green light warning'. It also appears that someone who smoked drove or sat in the vehicle. The windows had to stay open on the drive home. I (Ron) have asthma and I'm sensitive to the smell. The shuttle driver was very pleasant.

I had asked to have my wipers replaced as I was there for a recall. When I got my car back I was told that the wipers were fine. I had to return and get them as they were still smeared. I also had my oil changed. They didn't put the oil cap back on correctly. My car smells like oil. My husband now has to go and fix it so my car doesn't catch on fire..Just disappointed.

My experience was great , of all the dealerships I visited over a few days your team was more professional and actually seemed like you wanted to sell me a vehicle. I was set on a certain color but could not find it with the deals that were offered, after talking with Jim and him looking on the computer he said that the color was out there but with the deals, so he asked me if I was not opposed to white that he had some truck on the lot if I wanted to look at them with the deals. Have taken my vehicle 2 times in a month for a simple oil change. The first time they started they didn't have enough time to complete my oil change after it sat over night in the parking lot. More recently me and my 4 year old son sat in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours (with a scheduled appointment) and no work was completed on my vehicle. I was told my driver side mirror was diagnosed (under warranty) but the part was not in to fix it and the oil change and tire rotation was not completed..... not once was I approached and told or informed until the truck was pulled up to the lobby that none of the work would be completed. Porter Chevrolet is the absolute worst.

Certified car within 2 year, 24000 mile warranty, dealer wants to charge $320 to clean the battery? On top of charging a $90 inspection fee! My Audi costs less than this for a maintainence! Would never go back again!

I was having transmission issues so I dropped my traverse off. They drove it for many miles and didn't find anything so I just payed the $90 fee which I was fine with. However, when I got back to pick it up they said it was stuck and couldn't be reversed. I looked up uber to go back to work, home and then back to work the next morning and it would have cost me an extra $120. They didn't really seem to care much about that. I asked if I could see my car and what happened was they hit the broken down car in front of my car. My bumper was stuck on the other car and that's why they couldn't back it up. My front bumper was dented and is still dented. They did nothing and didn't offer me anything as I left. I finally talked to robert the service manager who seemed apologetic after I had to try calling several times. I have tried calling at least 5 times again because I am interested in service but I have not gotten any calls back or any sort of way for them to make it right. Every time I call they all know who I am and what happened so they seem to be avoiding me. I'm not looking for free service but a call back would be the least they could do. I am never going back to this place to buy a car or get service.

Sept. 5, 2017 I took my Suburban in for an oil change. The young lady that checked me in was very nice and efficient. Their wheel alignment device in the bay discovered that my right front wheel was toed out so I asked them to do the alignment. The young lady told me she would have me out in 1 1/2 hours and offered to call their shuttle if I needed to be dropped somewhere rather than wait. All work was completed and I was out in 1 1/2 hours. Right on time! Well done! Over $300 'labor' to replace 2 heater hoses on an '09 Suburban?? Give me a break! That is outrageous! ******** UPDATE: 3/17/17 Last week the service manager, Lyle Price, called me regarding my post above. He was very pleasant on the phone. I made sure he knew that all I was complaining about was the 'labor' cost. Every single person I spoke to in the service department was polite and efficient and the actual work performed was first rate. In fact, my Suburban was ready for pick up earlier than I was expecting. I will also point out (I'm pretty sure I didn't mention this to Mr. Price) that when I was called to okay the repairs I asked if I shouldn't replace the upper and lower radiator hoses too while they were at it. The person I spoke to said he'd looked at them and they were in good shape and said I shouldn't replace them. If he'd said 'yes' (and taken advantage of me) I definitely would have replaced them and it would have cost me even more $$. Mr. Price said he pulled the work order and confirmed that I was charged the correct price. (In fact, he said it could have been a little more.) He went on to explain that they (and all other dealerships) use a 'standard' labor rate which originates with an outside company, not Porters management team. I was charged this 'standard' labor rate for the work performed. Fair enough. I really appreciate that Mr. Price called me to address my concerns. He sent me an oil change voucher that arrived in the mail today with his business card attached. That he took the time to call me, fully explain where the numbers come from and try to 'make it right' tells me that Porter really does care about their customers. So, I'm correcting my review to 5 stars thanks to Mr. Price and I will continue to do business with Porter Chevrolet in Newark, DE.

The staff were all extremely nice and slightly attentive but I went in for a simple oil change deal. Change oil, top off fluids, rotate tires, put air in them, etc. $39 bucks seemed like a good deal. Do not, i repeat do NOT go to this place for service. They have thieves or at least one thief in the service dept. I took my jeep in to get a regular oil change two days ago on sep. 11th. I didnt notice until the next day but i had a prescription in my glove box that was stolen. Yes it was my fault for leaving it on the glove box i honestly forgot it was in there. But still , I should be able to leave whatever i want in my vehicle without any one touching my belongings. Very upset.
