Updated: The manager called me to express his concern for my experience based on my review. He apologized for what had happened & refunded me some of my money, since the amount due was different than what I was quoted. He said he talked with the staff to rectify this for future customers. This was an extremely unpleasant experience that I had here this past week. They said my car needed new tires, but they didn't have the ones I needed, then suddenly they found the ones I needed, but they'd be more expensive. We kept playing phone tag to determine if I would get them, because I had walked my kids to a nearby shop so they wouldn't be a bother, but I had a flat with no spare & was already there. I didn't have much choice. I called & left a voicemail to go ahead & do it. When I walked back, they hadn't replaced my tires because they said they didn't get the voicemail & they'd now need my car overnight. Also, it would be a little more expensive than originally thought. So, I had to take the rental, which took a long time to find one for me & all they had was a car, when I usually drive a minivan. My kids were out of control because it was way past their bedtime at this point, but what can you do? Finally we get out of there & the next day I call several times to check on the status of my car, so I could know when I come pick it up. I come 30 minutes before pick up time & the front desk lady asked me whey I was there & I said because they said my car will be ready in 30 minutes & I need to take all the carseats out & wasn't sure if there was any paperwork to do to transfer back to my own car. She said there's not, so you can take the keys & get back out of here until it's ready, as if I wasn't welcome to sit there with my kids for 30 minutes. I was furious & so hurt, but just said, we will wait, they've already been in the car for an hour & 1/2 to get here, so I don't want them to be in the car any longer. She said up to you & rolled her eyes. Both women at the front desk were unkind to me both days & the guy who told me what was wrong with my car was no where to be found the second day & he again misquoted me the amount, so when I signed to pay, it was another $200 on top of what he had told me. There were a few kind gentlemen in the service department that tried to help me, but overall, this was a horrible experience. Though this is way closer to my house, I will drive an hour to the next dealership to never have to come to this one again. Customer service is supposed to be #1 & this was not the case here.

I have been bought 5 Toyota cars from Newark Toyota World since 1990. All of them are excellent cars without giving me much trouble except regular maintenance. We recently purchased a Toyota Corolla this summer. The service man is extremely helpful to show us all of the options so that we could decide what we needed and wanted. which resulted in a much better experience since we understood the vehicle and its features much better. It's a wonderful purchase experience as usual.

My vehicle was processed in, and the scope of work to be performed was summarized. I was given an approximate time that my vehicle would be ready. The service advisor informed when the service was performed. The service reviewed the paperwork and the inspection report on the vehicle.

Chris delivered my 2015 Avalon Hybrid to me by driving fro Newark DE to my home near Baltimore, looked over the car and within 30 minutes papers were signed. Did not spend 2-3 hrs or more in a dealership. If a could I would trade my wife's 2018 Chevy Equinox . Will recommended to anyone in the market for a new or used car.

Advice from someone with a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering who has has auto industry experience: NEVER DO YOUR SERVICES IN THIS LOCATION. I did my 10,000 miles Toyota Camry service in this location, and when I got my car back I noticed oil stains on the seats, dash, and door handles (pictures attached). I called the service department several times, but they never got back to me. I then called the main location to speak with a manager and ended up speaking with a front desk customer services at the location, she said the manager would call me but they never ever contacted me. I did several attempts but got no response. In conclusion, people here are very irresponsible. Don't go there.

As a 2016 Toyota Corolla owner I was a huge Toyota fan because of their reliability and cheap maintenance. I have used this dealer in the past for servicing my vehicle as I have moved from New Jersey to Delaware, however, I’m done with this place. I have no problems with their services just the attitude of one of their employees. This morning I was out for a run 7 miles from my apartment and I had to use the bathroom. I knocked on the door and a grouchy man answered the door at 8:00 am on the dot and when I asked if I could use the bathroom and he said no and locked the door. I was shocked. I felt as though they would put more value on not just a customer but a person who was in need of courtesy. No worries for me as the Subaru dealer across the street kindly let me in their facilities and even offered me coffee! I spoke to three of Subaru’s employees and they were so kind it made my day. I guess when it’s time to buy a new car I will no longer be going with a basic Toyota. I’ll take my customer lifetime value elsewhere!

Jason was courteous and helpful. He went over all the inspection points and walked with my around my car to inspect the lights and other details with me. He went over all of my paperwork and talked me through what will be expected at my next appointment and asked if I'd like to schedule. Even with the car wash being down that morning, he offered for a free wash when it's back up as a courtesy. Very professional, efficient, and worthy of repeated business.

I did not have any intention of purchasing a car the day I went to the dealership. I wanted to see what options I had first. After speaking with Bruce Low and the Dave Goodwin, they gave me a deal that I was happy with. Bruce was attentive and kept me in the loop and was straight forward with me. I am and honest person and expect the same in return, which Bruce and Dave did through the whole process. Dave Goodwin was helpful and friendly. He gave me several options and went over everything when it came time to sign the paperwork. He took the time to answer all my questions and explain in detail on areas that I was not clear with. We sold a car to Newark Toyota World and could not have more disappointed with the lack of customer service. Almost 6 weeks after we sold the car to Newark Toyota World, did we receive a check for the proceeds of the vehicle. 3 weeks after we sold the car, we received a call from the new owners asking us why we sold the car. I promptly called the dealership to find out why they have not distributed the funds, only get get voicemail after voicemail. When I finally did speak with someone we were told to call the bank who held our loan to find out if they sent the title to the dealership. The lien holder had of course sent the title as soon as it received notice the car was sold. We were told we had to speak with the title department which of course was closed at the time. After many more phone calls and a few visits to the showroom did we finally get an answer that we would have a check the next business day. After the person we were speaking with says "well we are a multi-million dollar company." Right, so after we sign the title over, you cannot afford to write us a check. Not even after you have sold our car?! Now fast forward to when we actually received the check, it is dated 1 month ago! 1 month! Very disappointing. We are not in the market for a Toyota, and should that day come, we will never be purchasing from this dealership. Bottom line is if you are looking for service, look elsewhere.

This rating is based on two used car purchases from this location in a 2.5 year span. My first purchase in 2016 was easily a 5-star experience. Edgar Estrada was attentive, knowledgeful, patient, and insisted on me making a smart choice helping to save me money. The overall experience was pressure-free and enjoyable. My second purchase was unfortunately a 3-star experience. My initial call in response to an online inquiry ignored my written questions, though she dug up the info when I verbally asked. I came in the next day for a test drive to find the vehicle in a messy state. Granted, I was profusely apologized to for this, and they cleaned it afterward! The drive went well, and they held onto the vehicle for me until I was ready to make the purchase. Chris Delpeche did some of the paperwork over the phone for me to make it faster when I came in to buy the car. Him and anyone I interacted with were extremely pleasant and gave me honest answers to any questions I had. However, they seemed to know little about any pre-installed features of the vehicle (as in what it came with). I had to investigate the car on my own including reading the manual to ensure I didn't pay for anything it already had. In doing this, I saw that the "professional detailing service" I was told the vehicle went through managed to miss all three interior passenger door handles (covered in salt stains), left wipe streaks on the center display, and the edges of the screens, buttons, handles, etc were all smudged. A damp cloth and 30 minutes cleaned it all up, but nonetheless it was disappointing. Finally, I felt like there was some disconnect in the paperwork and setup process that made things a bit awkward toward the end, but everything did eventually get done. Overall the employees themselves saved the experience, and left me open to coming back in the future. Suggestions to Newark ToyotaWorld: - When calling a potential customer who inquired about an online posting, offer to provide info regarding trim, options, and price before jumping to scheduling a test drive visitation. - I understand that everyone has different levels of clean, but please make sure vital areas such as door handles and the touchscreen display are fully wiped down by your detailing service. - Investigate all features installed with a used car and discuss them in person, even if you think the buyer already knows. If anything, it will allow for upgrade recommendations to be specific to what's not included already.

Took my wife's car in for brake inspection and new tires to Newark Toyotaworld. Cheryl Gephart was the associate who took care of us. As always there was a smile when we came in and a good morning. She called us later that morning to let us know what was going on with our car. It did not need brakes and the tires were done. We picked the car up later and we were very happy with the results. We just went to Newark Toyota World to check out a few new cars and maybe take a test drive. Eric Mosely assisted us with a test drive of a 2019 Highlander. Everything was casual and no pressure at all. We received a great deal on a new 2019 Highlander and a nice offer on our old Highlander. We ended up purchasing a vehicle that day. The entire process from test drive, purchasing and financing was very relaxed, with no pressure. We were offered options, but never pressured into purchasing anything we didn't want. This was an extremely horrible experience that I had here yesterday. I went to buy a new car and they offered me a normal price without any discounts and I have told them the quote by another toyota dealer for the higher version.But, they could not make even close to that price for a lower version . Received an amazing offer letter in the mail as a loyal Toyota customer so we called and spoke with Rose who was upbeat and positive and confirming of Toyota's commitment to us as longtime Toyota customers. We scheduled an appointment for 2 days later with the intention to upgrade from a 2014 and re-establish our warranties. When we arrived, we met Ken in the parking lot who was nice as pie and was a longtime salesperson for ToyotaWorld. He saw us looking at the newly released RAV4 XSE Hybrid and immediately allowed us to drive it. He was very knowledgeable about the car and the differences between XSE, Limited and VLE models. Unfortunately, it broke down pretty badly from here. Turns out that they did not actually have the XSE car my husband had discussed over the phone. We thought it best to begin the appointment by thinking through a few of the financials at a highlevel to ensure we could look at cars that were in our budget (approx. $30K). Therefore, we asked Ken if we can begin the budget conversation early and he said 'Not Yet' for 90 minutes! We went to the General Manager Jeff Ickes and he made it known that the letter we received was just a marketing ploy and not meant to confirm Toyota's commitment to loyal customers. He said the XSE we were looking at was in high demand and really did not care whether we bought it or not because 'that car will sell tonight to someone else in a couple of hours'. He also said the XSE parts made in China are being held up by the Trump tariffs but perhaps in October the new US factory will be able to get XSE cars to dealerships in a timely fashion. He never asked if we wanted to upgrade our 2014 to something else on the lot nor did he care. He advised we simply buy the purple 1 XSE he had or go home. He said all of this with a smile and a laugh but nevertheless offensive to us after being baited and held for 90 minutes while Ken was running around pretending to find new inventory. Finally, minutes after this conversation with Jeff, Ken had located a color that was suitable but wanted us to buy it without driving it from a sister dealership 40 minutes away for $37K with a trade in value of our car $3K lower than Kelly Blue Book. The payment would have come to ~$700 per month. Now this is nothing for us since we both drive high end cars to work, but we came in only wanting to upgrade our 2014 front wheel drive, to a 2018/2019 All wheel drive. We had in mind a payment of about $400. We politely said to them that the ToyotaWorld instore customer service could have worked a lot better if Ken had asked us at the beginning of the appointment what we would consider as payment and what features we were looking for. We would have told them (as we said to Rose) 1.) 2018 or higher, 2.) All wheel drive, 3.) $400 payment, 4.) trade in value of $14,000. We left feeling baited, insulted, cheated, and want no part of ToyotaWorld nor Toyota for a long while. Rule #1 in business, if you get a customer ready to buy, don't let them leave unhappy. Would have been great to have Ken, Jeff, and Jim exclaim, 'hey we want to keep you as a customer! The car you want is out of your price range and not in inventory but we can satisfy your requirements by upgrading you to a new 2018 AWD gas model for two years and then we will switch you into the XSE since by then the inventory will be in a better place.' Sending this to the owner of the franchise in the event he wants to do something about the linear myopic customer service model. Bottom line is that Toyota could have had sales tonight of $67,000 (ours and the XSE that will sell tonight) but instead they went out of their way to dampen a $30,000 sale. Is this a business?????

If there were 6 stars I would have given Newark ToyotaWorld it. I made an online time reservation for Saturday at 1pm. I was hoping to get in earlier so I arrived at 12:30. I drove into the service center and was promptly met by Christine. She asked me if it was my first time coming in (it was) and what I was there for. She went over what they would do and where I could wait. I asked her how long it would be and she told me it would be around an hour. I waited in their spacious customer area and helped myself to a complimentary beverage and watched TV. About an hour later Christine came to me told me what was done and showed me where my car was. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience and I am now very big on Newark ToyotaWorld. I highly recommend buying a car there and taking it fir service there as well. Great service center.

Wow- what a great experience I had working with both the dealership and service department of Newark ToyotaWorld!!!!! My wife had an emergency issue with her 10 year old vehicle and we were forced to limp her car off the highway and into the service dept. Completely booked with appointments, it would be impossible for the car to be diagnosed that day….. Jamar in the service department went out of his way to make sure that we were taken care of- he set us up for an appointment first thing the next day and made sure we were provided a rental car so we could get home. After inspection the vehicle problems Jamar was honest and up front about what was needed to return our car to safe working order again. Due to the age of the car and the number of things we needed repairing- we decided to see what might be done on the sales side of the house. Jamar reached out and put us into contact with our VERY helpful and friendly salesman Chris. After arriving at the dealership that evening we were met by Chris who worked with us to see what options we had with our situation. With 0 pressures at all we were able to make the decision to purchase a new vehicle at an amazingly good price (0% finance & rebates!!) and all incurred costs with our disabled vehicle were absorbed. Chris helped us with ease in choosing which vehicle was best for us based on what features/requirements we had. From start-to-finish, in both Service and Sales, we were truly taken care of like family by the Newark ToyotaWorld team. Excellent customer experience. We were very comfortable browsing the lot and showroom at our own pace. When we wanted more information, a salesman was eager to help. Our sales professional was Eric Mosely. He was very knowledgeable about the product line, options, and the differences between other brand cars when compared to Toyota. There was no pressure or hype and a good vibe in the showroom. The car we wanted was not in the lot. Rather than try to sell us their inventory, Eric searched for and found us the car we wanted. We made a purchase. The day of the purchase, Eric ensured all went seamlessly. No issues. Everything was as promised and the car was in perfect condition. I got the quoted price for the car I was interested online and made an appointment to check it. When I was at the store, I was informed that car was already sold. Kind of disappointed. Then I was shown a similar car but with "more" options. Especially I had to get the "paint & fabric" protection for additional $599, which I do not need at all. Later I found out by google that is one of things to avoid from dealer and the chemical used for this was super cheap from Walmart. Anyway then I was told in order to get the quoted price, I had to do finance, which was not mentioned in the quote at all. By the way it was really a long time at the store (I came to the store at ~10am, out ~2pm). I was hungry, tired and did not really negotiate the price, which I regret the most. Later I found out by google again other people in DE get the same model with discount (MSRP minus OTD) at least $1000 more. adding together with the unwanted $599 paint & fabric, I paid $1600 more in total. I should never buy anything if I do not like and never made any decision if I was really tired. This lesson cost me $1600.

It took almost two months for the spare key of my brand new car to be made and delivered! Yes, it was missing. The salesperson who attended me doesn’t know what he’s doing. My temporary license plate will expire in one week and I still didn’t get my tag and documents from the DMV; sent an email and once again received a very vague response. Do I drive with an expired license plate then?
