I drove down from Philadelphia to look at this car at Hertrich Capitol in Dover 1127 s Dupont Hwy (2006 Pontiac GTO), with the promise of them being flexible on their total price of $15,999. I set up an inspection for the car it cost me $50. They found the drive shaft was shaking bad ( $1000 fix), back passenger shock was leaking ($200 fix), and the differential was leaking not sure on fix price. So I wasn't even able to give the car a proper test drive. Travis, the manager their, told me they will not budge on their total price, they will not fix the problems, no warranty at all for the car and they will not reimburse me for the $50 inspection. They knew I was driving 1 hour and 45 mins to look at the car, and this is how I get treated. They told me their mechanics looked at this car and everything was good. And I had a family member previously test drive this car, and Mieneke deemed it unsafe to drive (they gave me and an employee name Steve visible proof of the bad components on the car) . So how do you think I feel knowing they could have been injured just because Hertrich Capitol in Dover wanted to sell this car. I regret going there and I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase vehicles from Hertrich Capitol in Dover because my experience shows they are deceitful. On a different note Mieneke at 1312 S Dupont Hwy are honest and professional thank you, I would highly recommend.

I was very disappointed with the service provided this morning, 1 I show up and the car Katie and I discussed more than once was not there even after she text me at 8am to make sure I was driving up to look at the car, 2 the “Manager” did nothing to help put me in a vehicle, I’ve never been to a dealership where the sales team didn’t try their best to put a client in a car, the Manager had the biggest male ego told me he couldn’t help and sent me off, didn’t say “well what about this car or this car” like any other dealership... mind you the dealership was empty! I don’t recommend this dealer. I drove off in a 2015 from Willis ford, so thank you For turning me away!

I never knew 5 star vehicle service until I came here. I think the google hours are only for sales and not for service. I arrived 8 minutes before 8:30am (hours shown on Google) and it looked like they had been open for a while. Check their website for correct hours. It would take too long to explain the top notch service. Just give them a try and you will see.

My drivers side door handle and window weren't working. I was charged two diagnostic fees for problems in the same area. The part needed for my "scheduled" appointment wasn't ready; so i had to come back the next day. I didn't receive my complimentary car wash and i was told they can't tell me the cost to fix my drivers side window unles I pay ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC FEE. I walked away very hurt, upset and disappointed. I loved my Mazda experience when I lived in NJ. But the service I've received in DE has been far less than I am used to...very, very sad

Certainly wish I could give less than a 1-star review. Loved my sales person when I bought my car. Not once have I had a good experience with the service department. No one smiles, no one greets you, and no one returns phone calls. Actually talked with a salesman the night I dropped my vehicle off, and he had me looking at the inventory online considering trading in my car. After the latest and final fiasco with the service department, I'll be buying my new vehicle somewhere else.

Dissapointed, it was my fiances and I first time going to this dealer and since we live a hour away we called ahead to make sure the dealer had the car we wanted to look at. A girl named kristi said that they did and they had a selection of cars we were interested in at this location . So we drove a hour to get to the dealer to find out they did not have any! They pulled out a car that my fiance was not interested in, the sales man was not knowledgeable at all. Then we went back in to see if they could actually get the car he was interested in, then tried getting him to sign a paper saying if they bring the car he will buy it. Rediculous definitely wont be going back! Big waste of time and gas!

I was thinking of trading in my car and my boyfriend got a mazda not too long ago from here and I really liked what I saw....Well within an hour of me being there I already knew I was getting myself a car. I wish I could give no stars I was recommended by a friend because I was looking for a car. I know my credit is bad and they said they could work with me. Well needless to say I was once again put into a vehicle I didn't really want. I took it because I needed a car badly. I was pushed into the vehicle the other cars I tried to get them to get me financed for I was told required more money down. Even the SUVs usually require a larger down payment. Needless to say I waited for hours signed papers only to see I was paying double on a 2004. Then I had to wait another few hours while they fixed the brakes. I spoke to my salesperson whose small talk went to a brush off because now you have the sale and the gm to see if I could cancel the contract of course I was told no. I was told to speak with the finance manager and I'm sure my salesman warned her because her voicemail said that she was gone until Monday but when I went back to the Hertrich she walked right past me. All I want is to swap it out. I told the salesman before I started the process that I didn't want to pay 400 for 48 months that's why I came there. Well I'm paying 417 for 51 months. Dylan Spence if you could give me the name of the dealership that let you swap out your car it will be greatly appreciated. Then I was told they filled my tank up complimentary gee thanks. Never again and I'm not recommending anyone to do business there either.

Tina Major is the lady to see at Capitol. Unlike most dealers who try to put you ANYTHING to get you to buy, tell her what you want and that's what she shows you. Bought my 2013 MKX from her and went back the next year and bought a 2014 Mazda 6 from her for wife. I won't buy from anyone else. Told her my absolutes and she delivered! We still keep in touch.

I got my 2006 jeep liberty for a good price, but it was all downhill from there. I've driven only 8000 miles in the 9 months that I've had it and in that period first I've had to bring it back for leaking oil and motoring rotors in two different instances. Both times it took a long time to get the car serviced. Last month my car started to make grinding sounds when braking and after bringing it back again they indicated that my calipers had seized and I had a leaking power steering hose. The seizes calipers had led to my rotors being eaten completely. The repair cost was $820 for $150 in parts (1 caliper and brake pads) and rest labor. I indicated that I was amazed with that there where issues again with parts that had had issues and have been repaired before, but they said that these parts can go any time. Even if I've only driven the car for 8000 miles. I ended up saying that I would take the car somewhere else when they indicated that they felt the car was unsafe to drive. I took it somewhere else anyway and the car got fixed (with both calipers being replaced plus brake pads and rotors) for $430. I will not go back to hertrich ever, and I won't recommend it to anyone else. And don't trust the positive reviews you read. They offer free oil changes if you give positive reviews after buying a vehicle so that's why it looks so good. Too bad there's a big difference sometimes in looking good vs being good...

I could not enter a "no rating" so I had to give a 1 star score. I had what had to be the worst buying experience in my nearly 40 years of buying vehicles. I was able to get the vehicle I wanted and negotiated a very good set of terms in my favor but the process of doing so was just painful and frustrating. There is not enough time to document the litany of mis-steps, poor communication, and ineptness but for those who are interested in buying a vehicle, I would offer these suggestions. 1. DO NOT commit to buying a car on your first visit - emotion will often cloud clear thinking. Strike the most aggressive deal you can, have them put their initial offer in writing, re-review the numbers without the pressure of the sales person, and come back with the terms you want. In my case, I found an additional $400 in savings when re-reviewing the details of the initial offer. If it takes 2-3 visits to hammer the deal thru, it will be worth your time. 2. Document everything during the negotiation process. I cannot tell you the # of times I was told one thing only to find out later the story had changed. 3. If you expect a quick response (reply email, return call, etc), it ain't going to happen. Too often it was I who had to follow up on a un-replied email to get an update on what was happening. 4. Stay firm on the terms of the deal. Don't fall for the typical sales tactics that car dealers will do to throw smoke into the negotiation. This is particularly true If you want a vehicle that the dealership needs to search for and secure from another dealership. They will continue to try and route the conversation on buying a car they have on their lot. 5. Don't assume the sales manager and your sales person are on the same page. Try and strike a line of communication with both of them to ensure you are getting the same story. In my case, I heard two different stories in one memorable re-visit to the dealership. I am happy I finally got the vehicle I wanted at the terms I wanted. Credit is due to the dealership in ultimately honoring the deal - albeit the protracted process was so painful. Hope this helps.

I bought a 1 year old truck from Hertrich Capitol which was in great condition. I wanted to leave the vehicle to be detailed since it was dirty.They insisted they could clean it in an hour no problem. It was not bad it only need to be wiped down and cleaned for slight smell. I gave them two more chances to clean the truck. like i said it was not bad. Every time i picked up the truck they only cleaned the few things i pointed out even when they said they would give it full detail i still had a dirty dash. the last time I went to pick it up I had the salesman wipe his hand on the dash and after he told me if I wanted a cleaner car i would have to buy a new one. When he looked at his hand it was covered in dirt and dust. He had nothing to say after that. I am very understanding and just wanted the truck to be clean. The one thing that rings with me is that the salesman said to me he goes over every car with a fine tooth comb to make sure it was done right. I deeply feel they wanted my money and pushed me out the door. It is a shame because i liked the place and the people just not the way they handled my purchase.

My wife Jill and I stopped by to test drive the Mazda CX5. We had done our homework but were in no rush to buy. Butthe sales rep didnt try to steer us toward anything more than we wanted and then the sales manager quickly got to his best deal - and it was the deal we wanted. We drove off in our new Mazda an hour later. I later discovered that 8 of my co-workers and friends have also had great experiences with these guys and they also bought vehicles from them. I purchased a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder from hertrich Capitol I have had it 8 months it was sold as a CPO VEHICLE IN THE EIGHT MONTHS THAT HAVE HAD IT I HAD TO CHANGE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS I WAS TOLD MY BRAKES NEED REPLACING AND MY CABIN AIR FILTER NEEDS REPLACING. YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT IF THIS WAS A TRUE CPO VEHICLE THOSE PARTS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED SO SOON. I prchased a new/used 2011 Toyota Corolla S from thomas and absolutely loved the service. They did everything they could to accomodate me with payments, pricing of the car and intrest rate of my loan. The very least I can say is that I am very unhappy with this business. This car dealership is a stereotypical con artist dealership. I bought a car from them and the next day not even 10 hours later said I wasn't comfortable with the car and I would like to return it and the sales manager said absolutely not so obviously this place does not care about customer satisfaction. I called two other non hertrich dealerships and I explained the situation they said that they would've taken the car back if it was from them so I find this very odd that hertrich capital seems to not care about their customers. I would not recommend hertrich capital to anyone I will be making sure that I tell everyone that I come in contact with about my experience here. I had to go all the way to another hertrich dealership and they agreed to do an exchange I am specifically very unhappy with hertrich capital this establishment does not even deserve a one star review at hertrich capital.

One dreary cold night I stumbled into the lot at Hertrich's Capitol and was greeted by my salesman, Jerry Dennin. I had been searching for months for the right car and had been test driving various makes and models of cars for several days straight. I had read the many reviews about the Mazda 3 Hatchback and was not disappointed when I finally test drove that sweet car! I wanted a lease and was trading in my Bimmer which was equally awesome, a BMW x3 SUV- the mileage I was getting on a tank of gas was killing me! I didn't realize that the dealer name was Hertrich's otherwise I would have run away as fast as I could! I had a REALLY aweful experience at another Hertrich's while recently looking at Prius's and another horrible experience when I had bought a ford focus for my son a few years back. When Jerry had gotten permission from his manager, Eric Mayan for me to take the Mazda 3 overnight to show my husband, we were chatting and joking around( the guy has an amazing sense of humor) I started telling him about the nightmares I had experienced at Hertrich's in the past, and he calmly said to me..."Do you know the name of our dealership,Jen?" And I replied "Capitol Mazda- Lincoln- Suzuki, why?" That's when he broke the news to me that I was at Hertich's Capitol. Boy did we laugh! The next day after having the Mazda 3 overnight, my husband test drove it back to the dealership and was very impressed. Although the wheeling and dealing and finalization of the deal was an all day process( Needs a bit of work, guys), we left with my 2013 Mazda 3 Hatchback and a good deal. Both Jerry Dennin and Eric Mayan are great guys and actually fun to work with, The also make an excellent cup of coffee with their Keurig Coffee Machine!

Loathing going into any dealership, upon meeting with salesman Aric Carney, it changed any prior experience I have ever had... his sales manager just as pleasant. While I have yet to purchase a vehicle, it is my recommendation - if you want an honest, empathetic experience - not a convoluted typical experience - see Aric Carney, and his sales manager, Jason.

Took the Miata for a recall to be repaired. Everyone we came in contact with was very pleasant. They even washed the car for us. (We were not expecting that especially for a recall) All together it took a little more than a hour to get everything done including including inspection tires, fluids etc. Waiting room was comfortable with water and coffee available. Overall very pleased.

Worse place to buy or take your car!!! There are way too many other dealers around Dover that will take care of you. Bought at 2015 scion to only have the heater/ac break refuses to give a lender car and when the car was done they did damage to the passenger side door, and the heater/ac is still broke . Now they want to try and fix the car again so it will stay broken and know what else damage they’ll cause , stay away from this place!!!!!

I was told when I bought my vehicle that if I purchase the extended warranty and do not use it, I would get that money back. The Only reason I purchased the $1900 package. Verified that I was to get the money in July when I stopped in to inquire. Go in today to inquire how this worked and was told flat out it didn't apply to me and I was wrong. Not the person who sold it to me was wrong, by the way she doesn't work there anymore, but I was wrong. And regardless they are not refunded me that money. But they are really sorry and want to make it up to me the next time I purchase from them. Fat chance of that, they will never see anymore money from me in the future. It was a shame to, because the salesman was good to us and he is going to loose future commission, due to the dishonesty portrayed by their sales department!!!

I purchased a 2014 Mazda 6 from Hertrich in Dover.The sales representative Louis was very knowledgeable and made the entire process the easiest car buying experience i've ever encountered. The staff was very helpful as well and worked with me to get the best deal on my trade. Overall my experience with Louis and the sales staff was great and I love my new purchase. I've owned 4 Madza's and haven't had any major issues or concerns. I still have 3 Madza's looking to purchase another Madza for my son as his First car.

After logging in and using thier online service to schedule my appointment and receiving a confirmation email...the day of service I get a phone call asking what my car needed and why it was dropped off. They were unaware of the service scheduled. Upon picking up my vehicle, my air conditioning magically stopped working. It was working the morning I dropped the car off and the second I got my car back it was not. To say I am frustrated is an understatement and I will not be returning for any future needs.

Just had keys made for my Mazda this weekend. Told me it would take 1 hr to cut and program but took almost 2 hrs because "the technician was new" . quoted me $130 and when the time came to pay it was $147 because of a $17 shop fee? When asked they said it was standard through out DE and that fee was for disposing hazardous waste/material. ??? I'M GETTING A KEY PROGRAMMED! What is there to dispose? Had Audi, Nissan and Toyota keys programmed and all took less that 45 min and with no hidden cost! Should of listen to the poor service reviews on YELP and here so from now on I'll try to stay away from this dealer! Heed the warning!

When they delivered my car it only came with one key. Tried and tried to get a second key. Was told used cars only come with one key. If I wanted a second key it would cost me over $400.00. Never again!

Wow, if I knew buying a car wasn't as difficult as the last dealership I went to, I would have traded mine in a long time ago! I came in with a 2011 with 40k on it, initially to look at a 2001 BMW, figuring I would have to go older to lower my payments (I knew I was going to have a hefty rollover from my 2011). I had been in contact with the salesman Luis Garcia during the day, he had taken the BMW out, and had it ready and waiting for me when I got there! After a quick drive I let them run my credit and the manager Travis came to talk to me. I couldn't be approved for an older model but I had options. They got me in a BRAND NEW 2012 Mazda 3 (last year's model obviously but with only 9 miles on it!) AND reduced my payment $120! I was in and out with a brand new car in 3 hours, and a majority of that wait was getting all the paperwork done, because they were pretty busy for a Friday night. Even the guy in finance was awesome. They were all very friendly, knowledgeable, they obviously enjoyed not only working there, but with each other. Great place to go. And I never have to go back to the "OTHER" dealership again!!

I’m new to the area and have always taken my car to Martin Mazda in Newark. I found this place online and it was super convenient location wise and also with scheduling an appointment. Calvin is who checked my and was super nice, but my issues weren’t with him. When I dropped my car off I signed a paper with the services and cost which I was okay with. Once I returned to pick up my car is where my experience turned bad. I checked out and the bill was higher then I signed ( nothing changed in the service). I was told I was getting a car wash and it never happened. No one took the time to go over the results in the inspection. Even tho Martin Mazda is not as close I’ll take that extra drive for the more personal experience, with a car wash, vacuum and oil change which is way less expensive.

We stopped at Hertrich's Capital prior to going to an appointment at another dealership. Jordan greeted us and listened to the criteria we had for a new vehicle. He looked at his inventory and found lovely 2008 Acadia. As lifelong GM owners, this made my husband and myself very happy. Although the vehicle had greater mileage than we had originally specified, the rest of the SUV was wonderful. Eric, the sales manager and Jordan worked to get the price of our trade and the payment of the new vehicle to a comfortable (for us) amount. It shouldn't take 2 months to work on a car and fix it. I had to go through their warranty company. The warranty girl said they wouldn't accept anything if I didn't have proof of oil changes even though I was having transmition issues. The warranty girl at hert capital told me she would send it in to see what they would say. I call the warranty company to see what's taking so long and they said they never got a claim that warranty girl never sent one in. When I finally got some paper work around for my oil changes that we do at home it took another month for the car to even be worked on. They never kept me updated on the statues of my vehicle or why it was taking so long. It was the worst experience ever if I can help it I'm never going there again. Marina Wharton
