I had a poor experience at Felton Holly Kia about a week and a half ago. I was looking for a Kia Soul and went shopping with my father. Found a car that I liked, but they were unwilling to negotiate. I wanted a Soul with under 33k miles for under $15k and they were unwillingly to break $17k. Sales associates seemed very uninformed about products and there are NO price stickers on used vehicles. Sales associates are required to take the VIN # to the one manager working and receive a quote---seemed a little sketchy. My father said he didn't want to spend anything other 15k and they had VERY few cars under that price. Our sales associate, Denise, had us running all around the lot cause she didn't know where the cars were. She also had an attitude while working with us. I felt offended by the way that she spoke to my father and I, and made some remarks in a mocking way, whether she realized it or not. My overall impression of my interactions with her is that she didn't really want to sell a car today because we received poor customer service. A few hours after leaving the dealership, I went online and found a newer Kia Soul, with less miles, for under $15k at Scott Select Honda in West Chester, Pa. I would gladly drive the distance again for the customer service there compared to Felton Holly Kia.

My experience with Felton holly kia is a mixed bag. Customer service is great when getting maintenance performed, but initial delivery is lacking. I brought two cars from holly kia and both were damaged in the detail shop prior to my taking delivery.

My overall experience has been great, especially with the sales and service departments. My sales person was excellent, he was very knowledgeable about the product and put us in the vehicle that was best for OUR needs not his. The service manager is excellent as well. Let me tell you about my horrendous experience with Holly Kia in Felton, Delaware. First mistake...NEVER buy a Ford from a Kia dealership or any vehicle for that matter. I purchased a 2008 Ford Escape in February 2014. In July of the same year the fuel pump failed and my elderly parents and I were stranded on I-195 on that Sunday. My Pop went with the tow truck and my Escape back home to Delaware. My mom and I had to call my aunt and uncle who were 45 minutes away to pick us up. Pop came the next day to take us home. The salesman quoted scriptures saying he would take care of us. He didn't. While quoting Bible scriptures, he sent me to the Ford dealership saying they couldn't fix the problem because it is a hybrid after telling me that they thoroughly checked it and it was fine. They refused to fix the problem until I called, "Jim wants to see you in a Holly Kia." The service Mgr lied to me and Winner Ford but it was eventually fixed. Fast forward to last Saturday. My ABS break lights came on and I went to Pep Boys who said I had to take it to the dealership. The brakes would cost $5,000 to be repaired plus 1,200 to repair the front end and steering. If you want a good deal with honest people, go to Winner Ford. I wouldn't buy a pair of roller skates or a stick of gum from Holly Kia in Felton.Save yourself from the misery I endured.... Bad business. ..proceed with caution! You've been warned. . So I owed 11,900 on the Escape...I purchased a 2016 Ford Focus with 34 miles on it. They gave me $5,500 on the Escape minus a $3,000 rebate. I owe $11,900 on the Focus which is what I owed on the Escape. $150.00 more car payment on a new car which is $100.00 more than the 2008 Escape. You do the math.

We headed down to Holly Kia today in spite of the reviews we've read. We arrived with a small list of three used cars we wanted to look at that are listed on the Felton Holly Kia website and we discussed briefly that we weren't too interested in a new car. One of the used cars was a Ford Edge and the rest were Kias. The sales person (I won't give his name) got on his computer and said the Ford was no longer available. He then looked again on his computer and after we told him we were interested in the Sorento (two of the used Kias were Sorentos) he said he would be back in a few minutes and he went to get some keys. We thought he was going to take us around the lot and show us the cars, but that was not the case. 5-10 minutes passed and the salesman pulled up outside in a 2015 Sorento. Guess he didn't catch my emphasis on not wanting a new car because of the higher costs. So my wife and I talked briefly and said we'd look at the newer one since I knew they started in the low $20K range. We drove it and liked it so we thought it may be possible to purchase new. Here is where the fun starts. MSRP on the car was $27k. They had offered $6k on our trade so this would take the price to $21k before any haggling (not including tax, tags and fees). Well, that's with my crazy math. So, when we told him our financing terms (outstanding credit) he went to the manager and then came back with a price of over $31K!!! So the price went up?!?!? While they were figuring the price out on the first one we went on the lot and found one in the color we wanted and the MSRP was $24K. So we had him find the price for this one. Guess what, yep, $27.5k. As it turns out Holly Kia works much differently than other dealers. With most other dealers you take the MSRP and you start negotiating DOWN from there to find a meeting point and then you subtract incentives from that. When I questioned the pricing methods of Kia the dealer proceeded to tell me there was the two MSRP prices on the car sticker and then there was a second sticker (that not all of the vehicles had posted) and that is the "Holly Kia Price." The dealer called this the Holly Kia Markup. So, when it comes down to it, their prices are WAY too high and they are very misleading on their pricing. Oh, and remember that used Ford Edge were were interested in? Well, as we walked the lot we found it. Right in the front row and still for sale. And as far as the other used Sorentos we were interested in, we never got to see them. I have never had an experience like this with a dealer adding $3,500 of their own mark-up to the MSRP. Keep in mind, if you ever look at dealer invoices there is already a 3% profit built in for Kia. It's called "holdout" price. Do a search on Edmonds and they have great articles to tell you where the dealers are making their money. So, Holly Kia wanted to make about $4,500 profit. What a disgrace! This shady pricing strategy and dishonesty about the used car being available is crazy. We went to Hertrich and bought a car. Started at MSRP and negotiated down from there...the way it's supposed to work.

We recently needed a new van. We went to Holly Kia to just look around and see what they had. Greg came right out and asked if he could help. We told him we were looking for a new mini van (well used). He took us over to the vans. I told him there was only 2 things I was looking for, auto locks and fold in seats. He showed us a used van that had just been brought up to them from another lot. It was a 2012 and looked brand new! We said we'd like to buy it. Their finance crew did everything they could to get us in that van and they did. We love it! The people are super friendly and helpful. We recently had an oil change the service was great. Wait time wasn't to bad. They only thing I wish they had done was vacuum out my van. Where we usually get oil changes they vacuum out the van when they are done.

I would have previously recommended this dealership, but after the way I was treated today, I will never go to them again for anything. Their service department has no record of my extended warranty so I had to track it down myself even though the car was purchased at their dealership. After speaking with the warranty department (not part of Holly Kia), I was advised that I could receive a refund of my GAP insurance premium because of paying off my car early. I ended up speaking with the GM of new car sales who for some reason immediately had an attitude with me. Maybe he was having a bad day, but whatever the reason he had an attitude the whole conversation. He even hung up on me. When I called back, he lied and told me that I had hung up on him.

My last oil service did not go as well as I'd hope. I made an appt for 1030 and my car didn't go into the bay until 1130. I don't see the point in making an appt if your vehicle isn't seen within 15mins of the scheduled appt.

Was interested in the K900. They made me an offer for a 36 month lease. They verified that the care was available. I accepted. I gave them a full lease application and the down stroke by credit card. No problem, nice car. Two days later they called to cancel the deal. Someone (the managers father) had now put down a deposit 12 hours ahead of me. Suspicious story. No car available. No replacement inventory. Just deliver the vehicle at the price quoted and I'd be content and upgrade my review. Sorry guys just telling the story as it unfolded.

I bought my Kia Sportage two years ago from Felton Holly Kia and have had all the services done there. Every time I go in there they're always very polite and helpful. The services are usually done within the time frame they tell me. One time it took especially long for an oil change. I didn't say anything because I just assumed they were busy. They must have realized it themselves because they didn't charge me anything for that days service. My favorite service person to deal with is Rick. He always makes sure I understand the charges on the bill, walks me out to the car and opens the door. He seems to just go one extra step further in the customer service department in my opinion. I've dealt with other members of the service team as well but Rick is the best one by far.

Well within 2hrs I was done and he was shaking my hand. I sat there and started crying and I was praising God!! Helpful and very clean. Disappointed in my tires/service deal. Had a flat 2 weeks after my last visit and even with my 100% converge on tires and new tires free when needed, they did NOTHING to help cover anything to do with the flat. They were told I had a slow leak during my oilchange/service but even after they say they checked it and found nothing, I feel they didn't. They rushed me to pay and sent me out the door. Thinking twice on my purchase, even though I love my car. Disappointed in the service dept.

I have had nothing but pleasant experiences since I purchased my 2011 KIA Sorrento in February. The staff did everything in their power to get me into a vehicle that I would be happy with. My credit isnt so great but they made it happen. I later came to realize just how fortunate I was as I started receiving all the rejection letters from all the financial institutions that were contacted. Denise was was my Sales Rep and she was so pleasant. One thing that I am very impressed with is they continue to keep in contact with you after the purchase. I've dealt with other dealerships that once you left the lot in the vehicle you never heard from them again. I also recently brought my vehicle in for an oil change and the service department was pleasant, professional and very prompt. I definitely am very pleased with my decision to do business with them and have recomended them to several people.

While the service department has always been fine, I would not buy a car there again. The first car I bought there was a 2011 Sorrento. Loved the car but traded it in after 2 years bc the gas mileage was not to my liking. So I wanted to get a 2013 Soul. I was having a little credit problem at the time so it took a while to get financed. In the meantime, before it was financed, they sold my Sorrento! So after a while, they did get the Soul down to manageable cost. Now, usually when you but a new car, your registration is for 5 years. Now, 2 years later I am driving down the street and a Dover cop pulls me over and tells me registration is expired! Luckily for me, he was very nice and didn't give me a ticket! So I go to get a new registration and I get charged a $20 penalty! Was I ever told the registration was only for 2 years? NO! When I called the dealership did I get help? NO! I am on a fixed income and didn't need the $60 cost. AND, now I will have the added cost of $40/year when I was not expecting it. The woman who works in the office and does the paperwork is also very rude. I just got my free oil change and I will not be going back. They told me I needed 3 bulbs replaced and it would be $50. Forget it!

The maintenance is very important to me to maintain my car (but) Kia's prices are extremely high and in order to keep my warranty into effect, I have to have it all done at Kia, which is no problem (but again) I cannot afford the prices. While I was at Kia waiting for my routine maintenance to be done, I decided to get a cup of coffee which is suppose to be available to the customers, there was no coffee at all, I had to ask for it. Also when I had to use the restroom, there was no toilet paper or hand soap to wash my hands, I used plain water, there were no paper towels or hand dryer. When my car was ready and time to pay, they tried to charge me for something I was not suppose to pay for. I have noticed at other Kia branches, they have more to offer there customers, while they wait. Other than all of this, the staff is nice.

Felton holly Kia is horrible... the service department tells you one thing when you set your appointment and something totally different when you get there. The managers in the parts and service centers are rude and unhelpful as is the branch manager Ben... they really let me leave there shop with a car that “shouldn’t” catch on fire but there’s a small risk it could and when I asked why they didn’t fix the problem like I was told when I set the appointment I was informed that they couldn’t get the part any sooner than next week no offer of a rental until I called corporate and the only thing anyone actually said was they were sorry but it’s the best I can do...

Next time I need service I will definitely go back to them. I came back again for the great service. The battery died in my vehicle. The vehicle is 10 years old and this was the original battery. I had to have the van towed to Kia. Not only did they replace the battery, they checked to make sure there were no other problems. Everyone there is so nice. Rick, in the service department is great. I read another review stating that they don't like fixing cars under warranty and I experienced the same thing . Took my car to them and they told me nothing was wrong with it. I took my car to the kia where I bought it and something was wrong with the suspension. The parts were expensive, aluminum. And it was all covered under warranty.

My saleperson Denise was too cowardly too tell me herself so pass me off to her boss. I called the owner in Berlin MD and never received a call back. Now I have a call into Consumer Protection.

This is THE WORST dealership! DO NOT give them your business! We bought a van from this dealership several years ago & got screwed so many times by their service department. After the horrible experiences we had with this dealership we should not have dealt with them again, but we found a used vehicle there recently that was exactly what we were looking for & we reluctantly gave them our business a 2nd time. Once again, the experience has been a NIGHTMARE! The service department lost the keys to our van & acted like it was no big deal. Every time we call to try to get a solution to the problem, we are on hold for 5-10 minutes before they ask if we can leave our name & # (again)....however, the service department or sales manager never call us back. Service department sucks! Got a factory remote start for my wife. I was quoted a 1hr installation charge of $120. When we got there they said it takes 2 1/2 hours. The product it self says 1 hour to install no programming necessary. They told us it would take an hour to install and hour to program. It says right in the box no programming? Just called Kia of Wilmington and they only charge 1 hour labor. It's all plug and play no wire splicing.

Recently I received two separate notices of services required on our 2014 KIA Soul. One was a notice of recall for a possible problem involving the accelerator pedal; the other was a notice of a required upgrade in the onboard software. On Friday, April 17th, I was driving past Felton Holly KIA anyway, so I stopped in to make an appointment. To my surprise (the pleasant kind), an appointment was available on the following Monday at 2:00 p.m. Sweet! I was informed that the services would take about an hour and a half. I arrived at the Felton Holly KIA service department shortly before 2:00 p.m. The assistant service manager immediately took my car back, and directed me to the customer waiting lounge. After forty minutes, I was informed that my car was ready. Again -- Sweet! In addition to the two services noted above, the service techs also performed a multi-part check of my car. I would have picked NO stars, but that was not an option. From the person that took my phone call, to the technician, that didn't even refill my antifreeze after it exploded in my engine, to the clerk checking me out, it was a terrible experience. I asked if my antifreeze was refilled and the clerk said, "probably." When I told her I needed to know, she said she is not the person that worked on my car. Obviously, she was not the person that worked on my car. I found it very rude. I couldn't speak with the service manager because he was dealing with another irate customer on the phone. My service slip said they did a 99 point inspection, i guess antifreeze is not one of the 99 points!

They ran my credit through more than 8 different finance sources when I told them that I already had financing set up with Dover federal credit Union. The finance manager that I thought was a friend of mine told me that all of those inquiries or should I say hard inquiries would fall off of my credit report with in 30 days because they credit bureaus would be able to see that I was purchasing a new automobile. It has now been almost 2 years later and the hard inquiries are still on my credit reports on all 3 reporting Agencies! Therefore anyone that goes there be for warned! Buyer beware!

I had no issues with this company I went in after going to several dealerships they met my demands with no problems from my end they did their best and I got what I wanted. I don't have the greatest credit had no down payment or trade in I did not pay for anything and drove right off the lot with what I feel is a fair price. My APR is appropriate for my credit but I plan on paying the car off within the next two years for another purpose so I am fine. Denise Moen was my sales rep and she did an outstanding job and became a good friend of mine its always fun and a pleasure to bump into her at the dealership. Ms. Moen read everything clearly to me, I new what I was signing and if I was confused about anything she could not answer she quickly brought in someone who could her honesty reflects on he company so I feel they all did a great job The other sales reps made me feel comfortable and when I went in for a service it was super professional and fast they answered all my questions and communicated clearly. Update 10/09/15 After a few services from Felton Holly Kia, I am still impressed and very satisfied. The services were fast accurate and the employees very respectful and made me feel like I was part of a family. Keep up the great work.
