They only deserve that one start just so I can comment. And they are nice people. Staff does not communicate with on another came In on Saturday 3/23/2019. Just cause I kept getting calls. To see what they was about. Got approved got the vehicle i wanted. Made my payment told them I would be back Monday. To get the vehicle they had to get take to get the radio done decide to go into work late on Tuesday to get the vehicle. Get there they say the vehicle is not there. They go to get it and find out the other staff got it the day before didnt inform none. Then get the vehicle ready he says I have to take it through inspection I cant find the receipt. Get back vehicle doesn't pass inspection. Had to get my money back and leaves with no vehicle. You would think since I my insurance on the vehicle did all I had to do the would of had everything done. But no. They had nothing prepared in my folder.

I had a nice experience at DriveTime in New Castle. I live close to the dealership but I didn't have a ride so Ben and Sarah picked me up. They were very nice I didn't have much of a credit history and they worked with me and I was so happy. Be careful when reading their reviews though. They ask you to write a review when you're waiting for everything to be processed. The combination of you being excited for your new car and knowing that they're going to read it while you're sitting in their office leads to A LOT of "5-star" reviews. If they use the person's named who helped them in their review, they're probably filling it out at the dealership. If you are in a situation where you can get a car somewhere else, do so. Their warranties aren't that great and almost all of their cars are stock models that they bought at auction from Enterprise or a similar place. If you have credit issues, DriveTime is A LOT better than many other places. My initial review was 5 stars and had a lot of exclamation marks. I just wanted to watch out for anyone in the market for a car.

The next day n then tell me i have to pay the car off to get it back. N they all say we want to help u get back in the car but wont work with you when u r only 1 payment behind n was only late because of a death in the family.. Never again they have no sympathy.. They want to treat every account the same n dont care about the circumstances of why.. Just take your car to add to everything your dealing..

I have looked at the website (have not been in store) but the purport affordable cars, which is not the case. The cheapest is over 7k. If you are in a wreck and your car declared totaled as I am sure mine will be because the parts for it are no longer available on the market to make it safe to drive / pass inspection, you will not have enough to cover the cost of a replacement car, at least, not here. I will have to keep looking - I cannot afford anything over 1k due to accident injuries and issues with my employer. The sad thing is, I work 2 jobs (and will lose both jobs without a car) and could barely afford the car insurance for the car that will likely be declared totaled (if I shop here, my insurance will skyrocket from 160 to at least 300 a month because I just bought the possibly totaled car in November and it was my first car). The accident wasn't even my fault and the insurance company has declared that already (a driver tried going straight from a center turn lane and all lanes are turn lanes going in one direction).

3 weeks into driving the car DriveTime sold me, my passenger side mirror fell out. It look fine and I was driving maybe 15 mph and it came off. I called the dealership,drive time and was transferred to the insurance company which said they don’t cover that. It’s not a big deal I can fix it myself. The problem is I kinda feel like I could of gotten a better car, a better deal and definitely a lower interest rate. Most which is my fault for not doing enough research. There’s no need to cry over spilt milk. I have to work with what I have. Nonetheless the customer service at drive time is good.

i brought a car from here and had it for 1/5 i had to return it. the car was in the shop for 4 days after i had got it, all exspenses were covered thank god but honestly looking at your paper work and money that your paying the bank back its really all included in you payments.. it was multiple things wrong with the car, my tires has waaaay to much air pressure in them, ect.. i havent even driven my new car for 2 full days before i had to take it back and get my money back. i was sad, just glad i didnt use my car as a trade in. The staff was nice i blame nothing on them but the fact that they sold me a bad car. its really just a lesson learned. it was actually a great experience, but next time i will bring a guy with me to do a mini inspection.

****** 0 stars buyers beware ******** Bought a Dodge Dart today. Jeff and Michelle went out of their way to help us get approved today. They were excellent they even stayed late to assist us with the process!! I strongly recommend DriveTime! Bought the car March 16th, 2018 I just wanted to update my experience with DriveTime! I have now had my car 3 weeks. I had a extra key fob that was for another that came with my car. DriveTime told me there wasnt anything they could do since the vehicle came with one working key. I was really thinking about taking the car back and the answer i got was “just remember anything over a certain mileage you have to pay for”. SilverRock covered to have a new key fob and key made for my car. So about the issues with the car. First thing my remote start wouldn’t work due to a hood latch sensor being bad. Secondly, i took the car for md inspection since i bought it in Delaware. The car failed inspection due to the rear rims being bent. One day i got into the vehicle the abs traction and check engine light were all on. I took it to the shop the wheel hub was bad and the abs sensor. The issues were all paid for by the warranty company itself and i greatly appreciate it. But had i known this car would have been in the shop for 1 1/2 weeks since i owned it i think i would’ve found another place to get a car with a lower interest rate.. I am updating my experience with DriveTime again.. i have been experiencing more problems with my vehicle, the car upon start up is idling low and attempting to stall. The car is also not shifting into gear properly it’s hanging up. I have made several calls today to DriveTime, customer relations, and bridge crest. I was informed that since i am buying a used car i should be expecting problems to occur. I was also informed that since the warranty is still active for another 3 days that i can’t return my vehicle. If and when it gets to the shop and gets denied then i can have bridge crest voluntarily repose the vehicle. Which to be advised will go on MY credit for 7-10 YEARS!! I am in fear of driving the vehicle due to having 3 small children that need to be with me. Since i have got no help in reference to these issues i will be contacting the bbb and attorney generals office and possibly seeking legal action. *********0 stars buyers beware!!!!!********

I completed my application online and went in like any other car lot. I should have known something was going to be wrong when the down payment amount start changing from what they actually approved me for on the website. The amount that it approves you for is a small car that nobody wants. After changing the down payment amount to fit the car I wanted and they already knew my situation before I put any money down they could not work with the problem that they actually could have avoided from the start. The sales Lady was Lawanda she was nice but long story short took my reserve money order could not get the vehicle approved and wasted my time. I explained everything regarding my situation from the start either you can do it or not but do not take my money and fill out my entire money order and don’t sell me no car. For the inconvenience I would not recommend anyone to purchase a car from a place that takes you thru hell and back. NO GO!!!!!!! I should have followed my first mind.

I stopped in to the New Castle, DE location looking to buy a car, they pulled my credit from Experian (they said) and gave me a piece of paper that had a credit score 70 points lower than my actual score. I have an account with Experian so I can log on and see my score 24/7. I questioned it, even showed them my score online. They said they had to go by the score they pulled. And, as a result of that, they tried to sell me a car with a huge interest rate. I walked out, went to a new car dealer, they pulled my score (same day) and it was accurate. I bought a car that day at the other dealership. So beware. They must try to get over on people and show a false credit score to charge huge interest rates. Maybe it works sometimes, I dont know. But, this place is shady.

And if not for a rusty muffler I'd have drove home that day but it was replaced quickly and we drove home today with our new vehicle (new for us) (aka used). A surprisingly pleasant car buying experience! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. My salesman, Jeff even drove up to a dealership outside of Philly to pick up the vehicle I was interested in. After a bad experience at another dealership, I was welcomed and accepted at DriveTime and was able to drive away in a great "new to me" car (minus the intense smell of cigarette smoke). I only have 2 minor gripes- 1) I had to request that the car be washed, and I will need to do an odor "bomb" to remove the smell of cigarette smoke. 2) It would be nice if you left the dealership with at least a half a tank of gas. I live in MD and had to make the trip home on less than a 1/4 of a tank of gas- I made it home thankfully but that is something you shouldn't have to worry about with a new to you vehicle.

This program isn't true at all they run your credit without even bringing the proposal to the finance manager who ultimately knows if the bank is going to approve loan, they take and insist on a cash deposit without even being approved just so they can return it to you through the mail with a check which is a unnecessary burden especially for someone in desperate need of a car. If I could give 0 stars I would! We got there at 10:00 in the morning had to wait an hour for anyone to wait on us. There were no customers in the dealership at that time. They were all sitting at their desk with their headsets on. After we finally got waited on it took literally all day to sign papers. We didn’t leave til after 6 that evening. After getting home we see our contract had been switched with another contract and wasn’t our singnatures on the contract. They copy and pasted an automatic singnature to the new contract. Yes I should have read the contract before leaving the dealership life lesson learned. We ended up with an extra $5,000 of taxes and fees on our payment plan. Our beginning sales price was $15,000 and we put a total of $2,400 down on the car. Our monthly note was $230. That included the protection plan, motion gps, sales tax and lincenes fee, and the gap insurance. We signed the contract by hand no computer screen. When I called to address this problem they told me they could not help me and they gave me the run around and they did remember me and my son. They remembered everything we discussed but the contract is what we signed and we could not return the car because it was after 5 days and they hung up the phone. Make sure you clear your entire day and read everything carefully. I will never send anyone there and I will not be back.

Purchased a 2016 GMC Terrain from them not even a full 2 months ago, and I’ve already had to take the truck to be serviced 3 times. First there was an issue with the brake sensor, then I was having issues with the air conditioner, and now problems with the engine. It’s just my luck that this last issue isn’t covered in the warranty so now I’m paying over $700 to get it fixed. Just doesn’t seem probable that this was truly a “certified” used vehicle, for me to be having expensive problems with it so soon. Don’t waste any of your hard earned money with these people !!!

I filled out the application online and then got a message I was pre-approved and the information was at the local store so I called. The guy I talked to was pretty gruff with me and told me what he needed from me and I should bring it right down. I let him know that I had no transportation and would need to get a ride. He seemed uninterested or like I was not into getting a car. I wasn't impressed with his attitude. Sent my son a message anyway to make plans for Saturday to go in. Then Melissa called and started talking to me and I told her I was doing what the other guy asked and was shooting to come in Saturday. The place was packed with buyers and I had forgotten the papers and sent my ride to get them. Where do i begin with my experience. So monday i went in to Drivetime to purchase a vehicle. (Obviously) so my first sales rep was chuck he was polite and friendly and was working at a pace where i can be in an out! We decied on a 2011 chevy cruze. They had to pick the vehicle up from another drive time located somewhere in maryland. So i was informed that i was going to have to wait a day for my vehile to arrive. That was okay with me being though i placed my $100 deposit down and had 2 trade in vehicles for a downpayment as well i felt like my purchase was secure. So im waiting until Wednesday upon arrvial of my vehicle i wasnt informed from neither my sales person chuck ( he called out sick) or the sales manager ( Michelle ingram) in fact i had to call several times throughout the day just to check on the status of the vehicle just to make sure things were okay.. Michelle ingram was not a very pleasant woman. While i asked to speak to my sales rep because i wasn’t comfortable with discusing the details of my situation with every representative she informed me that they know how to their job and that they are very experienced sells representatives. Which really didn't have any relevance to my topic and handling my sitatuon. He misinformed me stating she was the only manager in the building and constantly had a witty and unruly attitude that was simply unnecessary. Furthering this my transaction was passed to another sales rep I think his name was like he was just clueless and had an attitude of he just here to sell a vehicle. I only say this because he didn't know anything of my trades none of my paperwork was processed and knew nothing if the new vehicle I was purchasing was serviced or not. Lol to make matters worst he told me that drive toms commits to a half take of gas for a purchase. HA! I've PURCHASED 3 USED CARS AND THEY WERE FROM A DEALER AND I RECEIVED A DETAIL AND FULL TANK OF GAS! The day of the test drive was terrible I came straight after work and the car seem to be running OK but it had some kind of acceleration issue yet again my sales representative didn’t know anything about if the car got service before or ever he said “ it should have” HA HA . Over all i got a refund of my money and took my business else where Oliver just apologized and did nothing!
