This place is usually hit or miss. Mostly miss, and misses by a lot. I have never before been told that I should pay sticker price for a car without discount until I came to this place. Play games like discounting vehicle price and then trying to grossly undercut the trade in. Much better Subaru dealers exist. This is not one of them.

Have taken my 2005 Subaru here for many years when the dealer where I bought it from was unable to repair a faulty moonroof after 3 times taking it in to repair. Delaware Subaru replaced faulty (a part was broken) moonroof at no charge as it was defective and under warranty and I have gone back to them ever since. I will buy my next Subaru from them.

I was previously denied service at Concordville Subaru for simply questioning the service manager about repairs needed done to my car. I took my car into Delaware Subaru and all I can say is that Greg & Katherine are asboulty amazing. They were professional, understanding and transparent. They know the meaning of customer service and should be the model people for having to deal with a situation like we did together. Greg went up to bat for me with Subaru of America for my 2017 WRX engine replacement at 24k miles, unfortunately it was denied having to pay out of pocket. Greg gave me a fair price, $2k UNDER other nearby Subaru dealerships estimates. After Greg knowing knew that this repair is more than 6 months of an average persons mortgage, he went OUT of his way to make sure this engine replacement was perfect. Let me tell you for the money I spent, it was. Will I be purchasing another Subaru vehicle ever again? As long as I’m alive on this earth NEVER! Subaru of North America doesn’t know what customer service is and could learn a great deal from Greg and Katherine. Until my lease is over and I buy it outwright to sell, Greg and Catherine’s team will be the only people that will be touching my car, PERIOD! I really hope they will be recognized by Team Delaware and Subaru of North America on what an asset they are to your brand. So I am forever in debit to you two for doing what you’ve done for me when that wasn’t in your job description. Delaware Subaru, you will have my business for the reminded of the car. Subaru of North America, screw you and your little dog too. I’m a firm believer in karma and what comes around goes around so I’d buckle up if I were you!

What great Hospitality Delaware Subaru shows! I am new to the area, and I was looking for a great dealership that was willing to work with my financial needs, but more importantly an atmosphere where you don’t feel under pressure with your big purchase. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Dorian , who gave an awesome first impression with his warm welcome and lively personality. I explained to him what I was looking for, he listened to exactly what I had in mind, and right away he showed me a few cars on the lot. The Dealership has a smaller staff, which I liked, they work well together and their communication between each other made my purchase smooth and on a timely matter. I drove an hour from Philly to this dealer to look at a 2018 STI on their lot and they made sure that it wasn't for nothing. I can't say enough how great my experience was here and the deal they gave me was so incredible I can't even disclose the details! After visiting 8 different dealerships to test drive various models, we met a ton of friendly sales people. The thing my wife and I enjoyed the most about our experience was that Mr. Dobbins along with the rest of the Delaware Subaru team, never came across as "sales people". Instead they came across as a reliable and trustworthy group who had our best interest in mind. This was extremely appreciated as buying a car is a big family purchase. Large purchases are decisions that are not normally easy for me to make. Working with Gary truly made joining the Subaru family an exciting one.

Stay away. Went there to buy a crosstrek limited, and the salesman Jim Callahan is a racist. I went ready to buy a car, had the cheque and he walked away from the table after 5 minutes of a discussion ! It would’ve been a slam dunk sale for him. Issues with this visit : Accused me of being “gamey” / not serious when I wanted to check about a similarly priced and featured Outback ! Didn’t spend time explaining the features of the crosstrek, or pointing things out on the car, basically ignored us for a while after our test drive. It was a very unpleasant experience. Went to Cherryhill Subaru next day and got a similar msrp crosstrek with remote starter added for $1,200 less than what I offered to this guy. And it was an awesome experience.

Two weeks ago we unexpectedly found ourselves looking for a new car after a collision with a deer. Our interactions with Delaware Subaru were positive from the onset. We knew that we wanted a 2015 Impreza Limited with Eyesight which is a rare combination. We located that exact car on the Delaware Subaru website. We were greeted by Charles Gianakis when we came to the dealership. He told us that he would offer us a good deal; he lived up to his word, easily beating deals offered by the likes of Costco and other buying programs. He made the purchase a pleasure in contrast to the usual auto buying ordeal. The finance officer, April Gambacorta, matched Charles’ professionalism. She was well-prepared and the purchase went smoothly. We had done our homework on the Internet and knew costs, profits, etc. Delaware Subaru respected our knowledge and efforts; at each turn they offered us a fair deal. Charles and April were efficient, responsive and professional in our purchase. We look forward to years of safe and enjoyable driving with our new Subaru.

Ketti always makes service appointments for my Outback a breeze. She's welcoming and helpful from the moment you walk into the service department. She's very knowledgeable and will happily answer any questions you may have, either on the spot or she'll follow up to make sure to get you an answer. Best of all, she'll check for and apply any service specials they're running to make sure you're getting their best price and so you don't have to worry about missing out on a discount. I used to do all my own oil changes and routine maintenance, but having a trustworthy service department right down the street makes it tough to justify being under the car with a flashlight when it's 30° outside just to try and save a few bucks.

Had gone to the other Subaru dealership in northern Delaware on Friday night and just didn't walk away feeling great. Came here first thing Saturday morning and met with Gary Dobbins, who instantly gave us the feeling that we had made the right choice by coming here. Great buying experience for my 2016 Crosstrek where I left feeling like we had made a great deal without a ton of pressure. Will definitely be going back for my next purchase!

Not the biggest of dealerships which I felt provided a more personalized experience. I was able to request info online and within a few days had an appointment set up and a new vehicle in inventory waiting to test drive. Ultimately, Nick and Dave made the transaction incredibly smooth and extended their work day by nearly 1 hour in order to assist me. Everyone's eyes bug out when I say that I take my car to a dealership for maintenance. Here is why I do though...when I bring my car in, no one has ever tried to sell me something that I didn't need. If they can, they give me a heads up that something may need to be replaced the next time or possibly the time after that. I can have someone else look to see if it is true. I am sure that I could find someone else for less money, but I come back out of loyalty. When something is fixed on my car, it is fixed the first time. I have had mechanics, over the years, tell me one thing is wrong, they fix it, but the problem still exists. So then they fix something else. I would still have the problem & then take my car to another mechanic. In Pennsylvania, I had a service station doing the state inspection on the car. They replaced my windshield wipers, in order for it to pass inspection. The brand new windshield wipers that had just been replaced earlier that week. I have experienced the gamut of being ripped off, attempted to be ripped off, or just dealing with mechanics that didn't know what they were doing. Going to Delaware Subaru & Delaware Cadillac for service, I don't worry about a bad experience after dealing with them for over 5 years.

Went to Delaware Subaru after searching all the site and test driving another car elsewhere. Other dealer didn't have thee car I was looking for after telling me he had it, wasted my time. Next morning went to Delaware Subaru was greeted by a nice young man who let me test drive the 2 cars I was interested in. When I came back James the salesman took over. He took his time to explain the difference between the two cars. We worked out a deal without too much hassle and both came away happy with the sale. I recently had a break in on my vehicle where my back passenger window was completely bashed out. After the authorities and insurance company, my first call was to Delaware Subaru. They let me bring the car in right away and had the window overnight shipped in. They went above and beyond and kept my vehicle out of the elements and in their garage until the window was replaced. A day later I not only had my car back, but they completely cleaned the inside, outside, and even shined my tires and wheels. They took a situation that had me feeling horrible about my vehicle and gave it back to me the next day feeling like the brand new car I drove off their lot! These guys were so good to me. I was driving through from Massachusetts and on the NJ turnpike my window wouldn't go back up (and of course it started raining). After calling another dealer who simply said they had no appointments this week, I called Delaware Subaru. They were busy too but offered to at least take a look since I was pretty sure the window track just needed some lube. Sure enough that's what it was, and they got me back on the road in less than five minutes. They didn't even charge me. Thanks guys! Definitely recommend the service department here.

When I arrived to pick up my vehicle which I had left overnight for an oil change and a detailing I was presented with a bill that was significantly higher than I was anticipating. Turns out they had performed and charged me for services that I neither scheduled nor approved. I brought this to the asst. manager’s attention and he quickly adjusted the cost so that I was only charged for an oil change and not for their full 6000 mile service. However, the cost for an oil change at this Subaru location in Wilmington is $30 more than the same service in Newark!! Shame on me for not catching that... won’t happen again. The icing on the cake when I got into my vehicle which had received a “detail” cleaning was to find a pretty poor job had been performed. There was lint and white cleaner streaks across the dash, coffee spills still present and the car still smelled bad. I have a tree in front of my new house that drops a really annoying fruit in the fall. Some of that got into my carpet and was making a terrible smell which is why I brought it in for a shampoo. It smells like all they did was fill the car with some super potent air freshener to mask the odor in the carpet. I will never be back to this location again.

Was trying to negotiate via email with one person, this person could not discuss the deal. Ask for a quote specifically with a list of accessories. Could not get this straight. Asked about purchase options since I was looking to purchase remotely, if I could put a deposit down etc. Was finally forced to talk to another person, which took a total attitude with me at the mention of a deposit. Seems enough people just have to have subarus such that they can have this attitude. this is not the first Subaru dealer I spoke to with an attitude. I like the cars, but I don't need one that bad that I'm going to put up with this. perhaps time to consider a different company altogether.

I bought a BRZ which is a rarer model, but they had 3 on the lot at the time. I asked for certain options and they told me they could put them in after market. I said I know that the car comes with them I want them even if I have to wait. They basically forced me to pick one off of the lot. They did have one in transport with most of the options that I wanted (not all) so I chose to put money down on this car. They then started pressuring me telling I had to buy the car right away or they would sell it (note I already had a deposit so they couldn't sell it) I wanted to go through my bank and make sure the loan was done properly and all. After they had the plates come in, but never gave me the registration, I didn't even realize I never received until a few months later when I was going through the car, so I stopped in and they basically called me a liar and said I had to go to DMV and wait there for a replacement (fine, but don't call me a liar). Their service is not any better had my oil changed there and they wouldn't even talk to me. If you want good customer service I do not recommend this dealership.

I had a terrible experience trying to purchase a car here. The salesman was incredibly unhelpful and uninformed about the WRX I was trying to purchase. Firstly, it was marked up $3000 over MSRP for "market adjustment," when every other dealer around had their WRXs listed for MSRP. Second, this dealer puts wheel well molding, door edge guards, and pinstripes on every single car in their lot. It's an incredibly pathetic attempt to get more money out of the customer. Third, as soon as I started shopping around, the sales person started pressuring me into purchasing their vehicle to the point where he tried to make it seem like they were my only option. They weren't. I went to Matt Slap and purchased my WRB WRX from Dorian Bell, and I could not be happier. I addition, I got it for $5000 less than it would have cost at Delaware Subaru with more add ons, as well.

Just bought my 3rd Subaru, but my first from Delaware Subaru. This was by far the most pleasant buying experience I've ever had. Absolutely no pressure, a fair price, and in and out of the business office in under 15 minutes. Edit to add after recent service appointment... Fast, friendly, clean. Had an interesting conversation with the other folks waiting for service... all four of us were bragging about our cars (and previous Subies) and agreeing on how much we appreciate the service at Delaware Subaru. What other brand (or dealership) can say that?

Customer service leaves much to be desired. I told them I would wait for my car and that I had a meeting that I needed to step out for. In the mean time they finished the initial work but found I needed a new tire. They did try to call me, I was on a conference call that I told them I'd be stepping out for and that I could not leave, and came out but I could not leave my call. I came in right after (was only 20 mins) and they had already taken my car off the lift and asked if I could come back later in the day. I work full-time and had to WFH to get the service done, so no I couldn't come back. No other accomedations were offered except "I called you" . If you are a busy person don't expect to have them be flexible, it's your problem. I called my local shop who had a tire in an hour and took me right in, on a busy day for them. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Great experience from beginning to end. Our Sales Consultant, Jim Calihan, was the consummate professional: exhaustive product knowledge and outstanding customer service. Jennifer Beamish made the business process quick and easy. Both Jim and Jen are real pros--the best I've ever experienced!. And most importantly, we couldn't be happier with our brand new Forester. Bought my Forested XT about 5 months ago. The Forested XT is a rare model anymore since they did away with the manual trans. Charles understood this was the model i wanted and did not try to sway me into buying a different model on the lot that same day. This was my first new car purchase and it was a breeze. My trade in was worth more here than Matt Slap. Great service. Easy buy. Not much else to say. Just deal with Charles Gianakis. Great guy who makes it easy and just lays it all on the table
