My experience with the entire dealership was been very positive. The service department does its best to work into your schedule, not the other way around...and all the people in that department seem to genuinely want to give you the best service possible every time. The collision department does the best work I have ever seen or experienced. The work is perfect (I'm very meticulous) but they do it in such a quick turnaround time that it is nothing short of industry best. My review is based on using both departments multiple times in the last year so the feedback I'm providing is consistent from experience to experience.

Just had my Corvette repaired at the body shop. I was nervous because my car is a rare color, but they did a phenomenal job paint matching it. I coudnt even tell the difference. The customer was excellent as well. If you are looking to have work done I highly reccomend taking your car there.

Parts manager refused to order a part becauae he said he had to order 5 and had the nerve to ecpect me to pay for all 5. So, i went to the smyrna location where the part was available. I got the last one they had in stock so, clearly they sold the other 4. He was rude and very unprofessional. This is my 2nd contact with this dealership. The first was last year and the Service Tech was excellent. To bad he's not the parts manager!

We have been Townsend Chevrolet customers for years and have bought our cars from there as recently as of March this year. This was the 1st time having service there since the change over and new branding. The service agent Dan was not knowledgeable and when asked to check the records because everything that he was recommending to be done next, I knew had been done, he responded that due to the transition in the company he had no access to those records and did not make an effort to ask another agent or go beyond that. I went to Paul whom I've known for years and he pulled everything up and updated the service record. I don't feel as confident as before when taking my car there for service . This is not the service I have been accustomed to from you guys.

Definitely great customer service. It’s an older building so the waiting area isn’t quite as awesome as the porter Chevrolet in Newark. But I locked my keys in my car by accident and they got them out at no charge ... that said my diagnostics will run 150$ each and I need two different ones so 300$ before repairs to start but I guess that’s the way it works. Unfortunately I have a situation where the only one who can fix my car is the dealer so no small town repair shop this time!

Went in for an oil change/tire rotation and I had a known issue concerning one of my tires so when I went back to tell them that I know my tires were not rotated, one of the service guys was very rude and basically called me a liar even when showing proof. The service manager sat there and allowed him to go back and forth with me and then tried to cover everything up. This was a very bad experience. I try to stick with the dealership I purchased the car from but after this experience and interaction afterwards, I’m afraid to take car back because don’t trust them.

I bought my car from there back in April and the place was great. When they went under new management it went down hill. Everyone was very rude. In my opinion cared more about making money I stead of caring about the customers. I took my car in f9r an oil change and I sat for 5 hrs waiting and my mom even called and complained that they would not give me a rental because "I am under age" but yet I had gotten a rental a month prior from then when my navigation was installed. I would not recommend going there ever since new management it is a terrible dealer!!!

If your looking for a vehicle keep riding past this place me and my husband have purchased several vehicles and have never had a issue until we decided to buy one here on 8/5 in early September the vehicle started having issues so we took it to get looked at and no one knew the answer so they did a quick fix and the issue wasn't resolved so being that they had no idea we suggested that we would like another vehicle they acted like that wouldn't be a issue told us they would help us and that we thought they were doing they did nothing but lie they first told us a car that we were interested in was being detailed at another location lies so they told us to wait and they would give us a call we had to call them back they then said car had been sold at auction but had just told us it was in the middle of being detailed so then another car was discussed called back and said they were working with banks on approval lies they had never even run info they kept giving us the run around they are out to get your money and give u a bad vehicle they are full of lies and the people in charge have a I don't care attitude and teach their sales reps to lie if your looking for a nice Chevy please I repeat please look else where bunch of scam artist and the technicians aren't knowledgeable Update : 9/23/2016 found out the motor was bad sold my husband a vehicle with a bad motor that would eventually just lock and stop working no wonder they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it they didn't want to put out the money to fix it shame on Chevy of Dover

Bought a car late 11/28. Had to sign and initial blank paperwork because of some undetermined issue. Was contacted by their finance and the new finance company. STILL no completed paperwork. Besides the small slip of paper the salesman had the terms on I have no idea what my trade was or nothing. They assured me it wasn't a problem. I made two dumb mistakes. Looks like the BBB and I need to contact GM. this is insane.

Emailed dealership Monday, December 4th and expressed interest in a 2010 Ford Mustang that was listed on cargurus. Got a call back from Diana Wells which connected me to Ryan Caulfield(F&I Director) to discuss price and financing. I asked him to send me a buyers invoice over for me to take to the bank, but he never did. I then emailed Diana back and told her I still haven't heard anything back from Ryan. She told me he was terrible with follow ups and she would let him know that I called. Thursday, December 7th, still no email, call, or buyers invoice so I called the dealership back and spoke with Charles Crippen(Sales Manager) which stated car was sent to auction for sale, but he would try to stop the process. By now I've been emailing and calling for 4 days about a vehicle. Call dealership Saturday to find out if the car sold at the auction and spoken with Charles Gianaski(General Sales Manager) told him my dilemma and he told me to send my information and he would call me back in 4 minutes. Didn't hear anything back so I sent a email back to Dianna, Charles and Charles. Dianna did call me back today and apologize about the hassle and connected me back to Ryan which said he had my information and he would call me back once again (which didn't happen AGAIN), so I called Diana back about 5pm and told her I still haven't received a call back! SO I finally received a call from Ryan which acted like I was harassing him about selling a vehicle. I would NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. Very poor customer service. Great Leadership comes from great managers, which everyone who promised to contact me was at the top of the chain and did no such thing!

Went in to sell them a car. Staff was pushy and tried to get me to sign a blank power of attorney giving them the right to do anything they wanted with the car. When I refused and told the lady in the back office there was no way I'd sign that, she got incredibly rude and begrudgingly completed proper sales paperwork. Don't sell your car here unless you're willing to cut corners.

Stopped by to buy the Chevy Colorado which is hard to find in stock these days. They said it was sold. I asked when, they said over a month ago. I asked why it has been on the website daily for the past 30 days and why nobody told me on the phone before I wasted a trip. Typical bait and switch operation. I ended up ordering one, but not from there. I can't endorse bait and switch. The place just seemed a disorganized mess. In this day and age with so many options on the web and so many hungry for business, why bother with a place that uses all the old tactics of deception the car business was famous for that one couldn't catch prior to the internet

Me and my wife went to Chevrolet of Dover to trade in our 2005 Cadillac SRX and get into a newer, affordable SUV. We knew we had some credit challenges, but Will Sheppard was able to get us into a vehicle we were satisfied with. The courteous service we got from Will is the only reason this is not a one star review. We got fair trade-in value for our old car, and we were happy with our 2015 Chevy Traverse. The payment was higher than the budget we told them, but they promised we would be able to refinance in the near future as long as we made our payments on time. Fast forward eight months later, and we went back in to refinance. They ran our credit through five different companies, but we had a verbal agreement with Will on a new deal. We were supposed to come in a few days later to finalize and sign. When we came back in, five days later, another associate, Ryan, ran our credit 5 MORE TIMES through the same companies! He then gave us a false promise about getting us into a 2018 Traverse that we never even asked for. So in less than a week, Chevy of Dover put 10 inquiries on our credit report and we have nothing to show for it, even though we had a verbal agreement. A month later, we had TWO MORE INQUIRIES from the same companies show up on our credit report, AND WE WERE NEVER EVEN AT THE BUILDING! They ran our credit without our consent, apparently didn't like what they saw, and never even bothered to place a follow up call with us after their false promises. I still have more business to do with this dealership, but after it is complete I will never return again, and I hope this review prevents another person from being misled and used.

What a great refreshing experience this was. I stopped in just to see a truck that caught my eye from the road. The staff was truly amazing, from the salesman Jon to the Store manager Charles. There was no pressure or games being played like other dealerships where you have spend hours going back and forth trying to get the best deal. I was really happy with the service provided to my car. Although I was disappointed in the fact that papers in my car was moved from where they were at and one of the were crumpled a little bit. This made me very angry because all I got done was an oil change and tire rotation so the only time that should of been spent driving my car was taking it to and from the working location. Also that by the account of the paper given to me my car was finished being serviced at 2:47(appointment was at 2) and I didn't get told everything was done till 3:30. I don't know why it took so long to tell me that it was done but people want to get in and out as fast as possible because while waiting for their car to get done they are just sitting in the waiting room.

So After a few hiccups Dealing with the regular sales floor, I dealt with the dealer principle and owner Matt Kersey. He honestly completly changed my view after getting involved directly. My wife and I had a Baby on the way and needed to get a bigger vehicle and he made that happen. There are few Chevrolet Dealers in Dover mainly 2 and Willis has the worst service department of them all. That's when I started to take my car to Townsend Bros. Basic stuff like oil change etc. Is fine, when you have a real issue that needs to be looked at they'll rip you off. I talked to the service manager about an issue I had with my car that they supposedly "fixed" 3 days after the fact and he just told me "sorry" and hung up on me when I called them about it. Then when I went to see him in person the guy that worked on my car lied and told the manager my vehicle was okay after a test drive when it had severe problems. I ended up having a local shop fix it instead and it works great again. Aside from the Service dept. My time with the Sales Dept. hasn't been so great. I had a sales rep lie to me about a car I was looking at by telling me it was sold and another vehicle I was looking at was sold when none of them were sold. I guess he was trying to lean me into a quick sale buy showing me the vehicles he thought were within my budget or were discounted to get a quicksale out of me. Pretty shady and it didn't give me confidence in this place at all. 9-10 years ago they were great to get your car fixed and parts was excellent. Today it's just another dealership like the rest. Just try not to get taken advantage of if you bring or buy your car here.

The customer representative was very professional in attending to me but I was overcharged for the service I came for - this was different from the cost stated on their webpage. My online-booked appointment was available on Chevrolet' end - they did not have my information. After paying huge amount (79 dollars) for basic services (less than 4 items on Express service), they could not complete some of the service I paid for - saying a multipoint inspection was bad. AAA never charges for multipoint inspection. I was highly disappointed with service I was offered in Chevrolet. Waited forever yet was not satisfied.

Me and my wife recently went to the dealership to try and purchase a 2010 Traverse. I get the gm employee discount pricing so haggeling isn't necessary. Well to make a long story short they wasted 3 hours of my life to not even come close on the financing. But that isn't all I decided to take my Hummer in for warranty work. Since this can be done at any GM dealer they should have no problems doing it. Well their service department manager said he would not do any warranty work on my Hummer. I am not the only one who has been told this. I have had multiple friends who owned Chevy's and they told them that since they didn't buy it from them they wouldn't fix it under warranty. I called hummer and let them know about all of this hopefully they will fix it. I highly doubt it. I wouldn't recommend townsend to anyone because they just don't care about customers or getting new one's at that.

I will never take my car back to Townsend Chevrolet again. I should have learned my lesson a long time ago when I brought my car in for a problem they claimed they fixed, but didn't. Took my car to pep boys who told me what needed to be done to my car was still under warranty, and to have them fix it before my warranty runs out because they most likely were just waiting for my warranty to expire to then have me pay out of pocket. Fast forward to February 2017. Took my car to valvoline for my routine car maintenance, they explained that I may have a leak and to take it to dealership. As much as I didn't want to take it to Townsend I did. They ran dye through my car and discovered a small leak and problem with oil switch and changed oil filter. Now here I am May 2017 and I get a message on my dashboard oil pressure low stop engine. I immediately called services and explained how I just brought my vehicle in for oil leak which they claimed was fix, but obviously not!! The lady on the phone was not too kind and told me that if it's not related to the original problem I am responsible to pay again! No thank you im taking my car elsewhere! Updated: I got my car looked over by another mechanic, who basically told me chevy just took the easy way out of fixing my car, and didn't fix the real issue that I originally brought it in for. Thank god that I found someone who is trustworthy and is fixing my car the CORRECT WAY and NOT OVERCHARGING ME FOR THEIR CRAPPY WORK. I will be reporting this business to the BBB.

Making Dreams Come True!!! Mike has definitely made that dream come true for me. My heart goes pitter patter every time I look or drive my new Camaro. Even before I stepped into the dealership I told them that I hate the long wait and the process of buying a car...this was the least painful car buying experience I have ever had. Overall, a disappointing experience. I was very upfront and honest about what I was willing to spend and my maximum budget when I came in- under 10,000. I wasn't expecting something fancy or new. The sales guy didn't seem interested at all in even showing me the used cars they had, until he found out I'm military- his eyes lit up with dollar signs and suddenly the "it's gonna be tough to find something in that range" became a "oh, we can work something out, you're military!" I know I may have a serious case of baby face, but I'm not stupid. Just because I'm military doesn't mean my budget suddenly changes. Then came the high pressure sales tactics. They didn't show me anything under twice my budget, and finally when the sales manager came to see what he could do and I had to repeat for the umpteenth time "under 10,000", he gives me a blank stare and parrots off some prepared spiel about a "great deal" they have for me, which was way above my budget. I eventually had to just walk away, because it was getting so incredibly ridiculous. The sales guy even tried telling me he was in the Air Force reserves to try and persuade me to spend more than I had. Thanks Chevrolet of Dover, you've made a lifelong Chevy lover and owner a Honda fan.

I Arrived a little early for my appointment and they had my paper work already and all I had to do was sign it and they put it into the queue for next available technician. The waiting room was very comfortable and the Keurig Coffee was my brand and I enjoyed a hot cup of coffee while watching the big screen TV. The Hummer-H3 was ready within an hour, Thanks.

After talking to a service technician regarding the diagnostic code and the cost to repair, I was quoted a price of $35 for the part and a labor cost of $125 or a max of $160 'or less'.However, bill was for the amount of $246 and indicated a different code than I was told. Additionally, the removed parts were to be saved for me but they were not. This makes me very suspicious of their integrity. I would not recommended them to anyone and I have dealt with this dealership under the previous ownership for nearly 30 years!

I'm been a chevrolet lover ever since my first car but now I'm starting to look away. Thanksgiving of 2016, my car broke down. Engine light flashing as well as stability and traction lights flashing like a pinball machine. I get my car towed to dover chevrolet. It takes them a while to find that my car is under warranty to fix. Thank goodness because I wouldn't have been able to afford the repairs. They fix my engine after a week and when I pick up my car, the check engine light comes on again the following day. Now to spend another couple days without a car while they fix that. Then I pick up my car again and the same thing happens. Car was finally fixed (or so I thought) until last night. Coming home and all of a sudden, the same thing is happening. Lights, engine noise and I didn't even make it all the way through the oil change cycle. I'm very upset about my car or Chevrolet of Dover. I feel screwed out of having my car to go to work.

The labor cost is ridiculously high! $140/hour. My car windows weren't working, it ended up being a super easy fix. The part was under $10 and I paid over $150 because the machanic said it took him 1.5 hours to fix. I wasn't even there for 1.5 hours! Pretty sure I just got ripped off! So frustrating...
