Friday around noon I called and let the dealer know I was interested in a Mini Cooper. I asked if the price was firm and if the vehicle was in good condition. I was told he would get back to me soon and advise. 3 hours later I emailed and called the dealership trying to finalize the purchase and couldn't get ahold of anyone. 30 mins prior to closing, 2.5 hours after original call, I was told that he was on the floor, that he would call me in the morning and the vehicle was on hold. I had plans that morning to go snowboarding but figured it was on hold so I'd be fine. I got a email in the morning, not a call, while I was on the mountain that a $500 deposit needed to be made to hold the vehicle. I email him and said any way I could make the deposit on Monday because I was on the mountain and didn't have my wallet. I received a email saying the vehicle was already sold by Noon! I went to my car and gave him a call by 4pm to make the deposit and was given the run around and was unable to speak to anyone of importance and to call back on Monday. Still no call on Monday after I was told I'd get one on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Several emails later and pointing the finger at the costumer I was told that this wasn't their policy to hold a vehicle without deposit. Why was I told it was on hold? Makes you feel like the vehicle is yours even, guess not. Here are the emails: 1:19pm "Hello Chris, Thanks for your inquiry and interest in the Mini..the vehicle is available and is in top condition. If I can help you please let me know Best regards, Kevin Kilroy" I followed by calling at 1:20 PM since I work from home and a email 2.5 hours later. "Are we thinking we can get something done today? Chris Faerber" His response 3:49 PM "Still waiting for shipping quote Chris..sorry have been with a client on the floor...the vehicle is in perfect condition, we'll speak in the morning..I have it on hold Kevin" My response 5:30 PM Sounds good, thanks. "I want the vehicle so don't sell it on me :) Chris" His response 9:30 AM while I was snowboarding "Chris..we do not have a shipping quotation from our carrier yet but I would think it would be around 1400 or so..the is no discount on the mini..the web price is the price. The vehicle is in perfect condition...I checked it out. If you want to hold it until we can finish the deal we do need a $500 deposit. Please advise Best, Kevin Kilroy" I followed by a email and phone call when I checked my phone. Never received a call but had my phone on me all day for this purpose. Piss poor communication and I felt a bad review should be the result.

Volvo of Danbury stands behind their cars. I have a 2010 S-80, a great sedan. It had a window slippage that wouldn't have been covered under warranty. They took care of it anyway, and let me have a loaner to boot. The loaner was a 2015 XC-60. A very nice SVU.

This is my first time writing a review for a car dealership but in this case I just felt I had too. The professionalism and courteousness I received was second to none. Let me start by saying I walked in not knowing which model Volvo I wanted. The entire sales department was so knowledgeable and friendly. I didn't feel any pressure to make a quick decision. Their HONESTY was greatly appreciated. They treated me like family. I also wanted to mention the sales manager Ken W. i'm not sure how to spell his last name but he came over to talk to me personally. Everyone was so helpful. I have used the sales and parts department in the past with a prior vehicle. I was always completely satisfied with my experience. The business manager Joe was so easy to speak to he explained the warranties in length and was so impressive in the way he spoke to me. I cannot say enough how pleasant my whole experience of VOLVO OF DANBURY was. I would definitely recommend this dealership to my family and friends. I will be back again definitely.

Danbury Volvo explained and clarified 60K service would be comp'd. After service, I was charged. This company is dishonest and I would never recommend Danbury Volvo after my 12 years of dedicated customer loyalty. This is my 3rd Volvo and my last!!! Purchased a certified used 2014 XC60. Test drives were fine. Detailing was fine. Unfortunately for me, I did not notice a large dent in the left rear quarter until after I got the car home-notified them and they made no effort to fix it either. Upon delivery of the car the car had only front wheel drive. You think they would have picked that up when they "certified" the car?? The service department was very quick to take care of that for me-just a software update. Beware of the bait and switch when you get to the finance department. The salesman quoted me one price for the monthly payment, and then I got told a much higher number when I went in to sign the paperwork. They said that did not include the "gap insurance" that all CPO cars must get. I made a couple calls and found that I could not purchase that privately unless it was brand new. I ended up paying for it anyway, but wish I hadn't. Salesman told me I had 6 months of free SIRIUS radio. He informed me that SIRIUS would shut it off after 3 months, but to call him and he would reinstate it. Well, I emailed him when they shut it off, and he said CPO cars only get 3 months. No shock to me at this point that the dealership had pulled another stunt to close the sale. I like the car, but probably should have bought it somewhere else. Maybe they are only good with new cars???

I was looking for a white volvo xc90 about a year ago and found one at the Danbury volvo dealership. I called to make sure it was still available and was assured that it was available and was told that it would be held for me to test drive. I drove down to the dealership on my lunch break, which took me two hours, and was promptly told that the car had been sold over the phone to someone else. The sales people were unbelievably rude. The sales manager didn't even have the decency to return my phone calls after I called to complain. I subsequently purchased a S60 at volvo of meriden. If you want a volvo go to the Meriden dealership. The danbury dealership is horrible.

The people deliver exceptional service from the moment I walked in the door. Tucker thoroughly explained every feature in my new car and even went the extra mile to set up my bluetooth, apple car play, SOS etc. Rich checked in throughout the process to make sure it was going smoothly. Jerry, the credit manager, made me feel very comfortable and explained all of the terms and options in my financing. The used car manager (I can't recall his name at the moment) was extremely fair and made me feel well taken care of. Overall they took a stressful situation and make it enjoyable. First let me start how I really hate typing (although I feel reading reviews are essential) That being said I am truly COMPELLED to write following the awesome experience I had over the past week at Danbury Volvo. In truth this is the 3rd car I have purchased (plus 1 more seviced) from them over the past 6 years ( which for those who know me speaks volumes of the SERVICE DEPT)... In fact Melanie and the entire crew are top notch, integrity driven and customer focused. HOWEVER this review is driven by my lease Friday of a new S90. Tommy Jannetty cold called me to inform me of the pull ahead Lease program (smart kid) He was informative w/o being pushy ALWAYS AVAILABLE and able to handle my onslaught of questions. Every deal always feels a little like a small power struggle with some bumps in the road. THE DIFFERENCE HERE was a true win win. Every item was fully explained and even last minute changes presented NO PROBLEMS in fact the ONLY SURPRISE was an ADDITIONAL DISCOUNT, As the final car that was located was closer (then Maine) hence they (to my surprise at contract signing) LOWERED the price. Talk about INTEGRITY. At transfer the Finance manager Jerry DiDminico was the MOST prepared guy I ever worked with (and I buy/lease a new car every 3 years X 2 cars = 20 plus deals) NO PRESSURE FOR ANY ADD ON'S (a first) Even the sales manager Neel Casimir got into the good feeling act with his warm welcoming friendly approach. He was so helpful he opted to check my my lease return and not JUST remembered to remove my EZ pass took the time to peel off the glue strips. I trust you now sense why I felt compelled to write this ( not to mention why I hate to write as I am way to wordy.) IN SUM CONTINUES TO BE GREAT DEALERSHIP WITH EXTRAORDINARY STAFF. Found a pre-owned car I wanted to purchase on their website, called to make sure it was still available and was told that it was indeed available and was told to come on in to take a look. Immediately I drove an hour to the dealership only to find out they had sold it out from under me. I'm sure they had another interested party, and offered it to them first, but didn't bother to tell me about that. Complete waste of my time. Typical sleazy salespeople.

Everything about this dealership was horrible.If it's not a Volvo DO NOT buy it because they use cheap parts and it costs you thousands extra to replace on your own.they will just tell you it's your problem. Also DO NOT pay cash because Jerry the financial manager will try to push you to take a loan and look you right in the face and tell you that your cash means nothing to him!!! Drive the extra distance to another dealership that respects there customers and values there used cars.

Service is always a challenge. Have had several issues with the Danbury Volvo service department over time. Once so bad that they returned me my car without connecting one of the radiator hoses. So 1/2 mile into my drive home the car was billowing smoke. My experience with them has always been hit or miss.

If you want to go to the local Circus but can't find one go visit these guys. Managed to mess up the insurance once and then the registration twice . Sales mans excuse was that he doesn't read paperwork or emails. Buying a second hand Car for my Daughter. The finance guys excuse was that he forgot to tell my wife and daughter all the numbers. The maintenance manager was the only one that was okay and kept appologizing for all the others. Will never buy from them again and suggest you look elsewhere .

I contacted the dealership to express interest in a used vehicle. The dealership is about an hour from my home. I specifically asked the dealership if the car in question was at the dealership and available to drive. I was told yes. Perhaps it was my mistake not getting this information form an actual sales manager; however, the staff answering the phone should be providing accurate information. I was told that the sales manager Neel would have my folder and my information to save time when I arrived. I drove to test drive the vehicle, and upon arriving, the sales manager had no information and was prepared to put me in an arbitrary XC60 to test drive. I explained that I was here to inquire about a specific used XC60. At this point they started to “look for” the vehicle, and could not find it after I waited for about 20 minutes. Neel said perhaps it was moved to another location without his knowledge. This was immediately suspicious because with the technology now a days, in my opinion, a dealer should know where every car is in real time. Although I enjoyed my interaction with Neel and found him informative and professional, and he did offer me a good value on my trade-in, he then tried to find me a comparable vehicle - but was really only able to find a new vehicle with the same features for $10k more, or a stripped down version for the same price. He asked how I wanted to proceed and I said, “I’d like you to find the vehicle I came here to test drive.” This seemed like quite a bait and switch situation. Neel indicated he he would call me with an update the next business day, and did not. My partner called a second time and his call was not returned either. Upon reviewing the car fax, It was evident to me that the vehicle had been sold 2 weeks prior. This vehicle is still listed on their site as available. I can’t help but think this was a bait and switch, as the dealer has made no attempt to find a comparable vehicle since or communicate as promised or apologize for the inconvenience. I am a highly motivated buyer and was prepared to purchase the vehicle of interest. There is no explanation why this car is still listed st this dealership. Be weary of any used car here and be sure you actually see if before going to the dealer (photo with a newspaper, FaceTime, etc). Whah a disappointment and highly unprofessional.

After searching for months to replace my car that I'd had for 10 years, I decided on a Volvo. It was Volvo of Danbury that got me to drive an hour to finally purchase a car. Jacob, who was my salesman, offered me a great deal and was extremely helpful in every way and in particular since I lived out of state. This was my first service experience at Volvo of Danbury. My S60 was in for a recall involving a software upgrade and for a routine 20K miles service. The service manager, Melanie, and service writer, Mike, were welcoming and friendly. I waited while the work was being done and found the waiting area open and well lit. Snacks and drinks were available, as was a TV. The work was completed in a timely fashion and Mike reviewed the check list that was used in servicing my car. When it was returned, the car had been thoroughly washed and dried and looked new. I plan to return for any future dealer-based work that is required.

horrible customer service. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I asked to place a deposit on a car to two sales associates I was told it wasn't needed. I drove 2 and half hours to pull up to them showing the car I was interested in to someone else. then told by the manager the person who buys the car the fastest gets it. this is no way to treat a customer. they also ran my credit several times because I had to finance through them it was said it was soft hit...wrong a hard hit on my credit report. don't waist your time going here. Isnt it funny read below a guy had the same issue I did. the car I was interested in sat on the lot for almost 4 months. car salesmen have horrible reputations of being sneaky and slimy well Rich and Tucker are the portrat for that.

I typically would not rate a dealership, but with the recent experience I had, when buying a 2012 certified used Volvo XC70, it needed to be recognized. -I sent and email inquiry after hours on a weekend, it was responded to by an actual salesperson , almost immediately. -The price they were asking was already competitive, after my first meeting with them and their review of my trade, they sharpened their pencils still more. -They advised me that I could pick up the car that evening, even with an outstanding loan on it and a new one to be created. -Stephanie in sales, and the finance manager were professional and efficient. Overall, amazing experience, much better than the many other Volvo dealers my family has worked with for the past 20 year!

My battery has been working just fine for the time I’ve owned the car. Just before the service the car starts right up with no issues. As I was about to leave the dealership they informed me about my battery level “being low, and the battery being in need of replacement.” The moment I leave the dealership it’s as if I have a completely different battery. The car barely starts. And later on in the night my battery dies and leaves me in need of a jump. Absolute scum working this dealership. I firmly believe they have either replaced my battery with a different one, or allowed the battery to run to empty while in service.

We have bought four Volvos from this dealership. Each has been a pleasant and straight forward transaction. Tucker is our our favorite sales rep. Service department is top notch as well. They do not have a big turnover, which from a consumer's point of view is valuable. Through the years, we have gotten to know Mike and Rob (now manager), and it's always been pleasant in every aspect.

First let me say the salesman was great. He was very nice and a pleasure to deal with. Once the manager came in on the deal it soured quickly. I'm not sure of the managers name, but he was the manager of used car sales. Basically the car obviously had an accident (not on the carfax) and had been repaired very shotty. When I inquired about it, the manager came out. He denied it about 5 times, then goes "oh I remember, it did have damage but we had our mobile paint guy paint it in the parking lot". I say I was a little concerned. Now here's the kicker. He waves his hand in my face in a condescending manner and says "don't like it, LEAVE". The car was terrible anyways (and certainly a parking lot paint job is not the proper repair), but man I've received better customer service at McDonald's. DANBURY VOLVO, YOU SHOULD REALLY LOOK INTO YOUR NEW MANAGER.

Worst buying experience I have ever had...lost receipt for down payment, lost title, requested plates---no plates after 1 month, car was sold to me with Volvo On Call and was told Volvo would email me. Car does not have Volvo On Call capability per customer service. Joe missed asking me to sign the checks so I asked them to follow up on the aforementioned issues so we could button it all up at once in one visit. ...and nothing. BUT TODAY I WALK INTO MY OFFICE TO HAVE A VM FROM JOE threatening me if I don't sign the checks. Still no word on the plates, Volvo On Call etc.

My husband and I where very excited to be looking at the Volvo C70 T5 convertable. We are retiring in July and where looking to buy our car that would take us into our sunset years. We fell in love with this car and took a ride up to Danbury to take a test ride. We where given a name of a dealer to meet with. When we got there,the dealer did not really know anything about the car, but said he would get the information for us. We took the test ride and really liked the car and we where ready to take the next step. We where told to wait, someone would be with us. We never got the information about the questions we asked, nor did someone come to discuss terms with us. We waited quite a while and feeling ignored, decided to leave. Needless to say, we where disappointed and did not expect this kind of treatment from a reputable car company.

Our salesman Tom was so patient and helpful. He spent all day practically with us to help us close a deal. He followed up after we initially looked at the car and then followed up with us the next day. He was well-informed and happy to answer all of our questions. Quite possibly the best experience I've ever had buying a car. I had gone to multiple locations in CT and NYC trying to find a CPO Volvo for a good price at a trusted location. I was lucky to have waited as long as I did after finding the model vehicle I was looking for with low mileage and at the best price I could find. The salesman Greg as well as the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating answering all my questions as well as allowing me to extensively test out the vehicle while never being pushy making the whole experience relaxing and fun. By far one of the best service experiences that I have ever had. I live in Middletown therefore going to Danbury is completely out of my way but since I had a terrible experience with Gengras Volvo and will NEVER go back there I decided to give Danbury Volvo a shot. The moment I got there they greeted me with a smile and let me know everything they were going to do. When they were finished they called me and when I arrived to pick up my car it was cleaned and ready to go. They once again explained everything that they completed. Melanie was awesome and I can say this with certainty because I am in the business and I know the difference between good service and bad and their service was TREMENDOUS. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for service. It may be out of the way but sometimes great service may not be convenient but it was always be great and that is what Volvo of Danbury is.
