They often quote inflated prices for repairs. I have found their service quotes to be significantly higher than other acura dealers on multiple occasions. They also keep trying to convince me to unnecessarily make expensive repairs when the cars manual and the maintenance minder shows otherwise. Edit based on the response from Tony, the GM: I asked the service manager an explanation for the inflated price and he denied any responsibility of it. I also approached the GM, Tony in person, who asked me to wait for couple of minutes. I waited patiently for more than half an hour while he talked to people about horses and sports and then left his office not to return any time soon. So I don't see the point in calling as no one showed any interest in resolving the complaint when I was there in person.

Saw a car for sale on their website. Tried to contact the sales team over the phone via email, etc but no response till today. It has been 5 days. I was surprised that they don’t want to sell their cars.

I have been servicing my RL with the Berlin location for several years; the service staff and management (Perry) are always kind and supportive (especially with the last airbag recalls). I just had some work done last week, and Keith Davis, my go-to adviser was very supportive (as usual) end-to-end with this repair. I purchased my vehicle at this dealership in December 2015 and have had nothing but problems. Acura of Berlin has proved themselves to be incredibly unreliable and unprofessional as a whole. The issues I've experienced include: 1. A week after I bought my car (signed all paperwork & brought my vehicle home) I was told by Acura of Berlin I needed to come back to the dealership because they "forgot to have me sign something"; 2. At the time I bought my car Acura of Berlin promised me second key and told me they would call me when it came in. I followed up a short while later and placed calls for WEEKS before I got a call back / appointment; 3. Most recently I called Acura of Berlin to order a part, get a quote for labor and to make an appointment. I was told I would get a call back. I placed over 5 more calls and spoke with someone each time who "tried to reach an advisor". The last call I placed I expressed my frustration, as I wanted to get the part replaced as soon as possible. I also expressed that I wanted to give the business to the dealership where I bought my car. The representative advised me she sent an “urgent” email out and I would get a call back. It’s been almost a full week since I placed the initial call and STILL have not received a call back. After having no other choice, I called a different Acura dealership and got an answer from them instantly. At this point I will be taking my car elsewhere to get serviced. My entire experience with them has been terrible. I would also advise others to avoid Acura of Berlin as well.

My wife and I recently purchased a car from Acura of Berlin and to our surprise the experience was not as we expected. Larissa Hartline (our sales contact) was great. Her personality is not of the "typical car sales associate" stigma that we have experienced in the past. Her knowledge of the different capabilities with each different car model is exceptional. Not to mention her knowledge of the technical features (navigation, voice commands, entertainment system) which she provides a private, one on one review to ensure you understand the cars true capability. If you are someone that is not tech savvy...don't worry, Larissa has your back. Her determination and work ethic is exemplary. The dealership is a "no haggle pricing" dealership which I believe is good and bad. I'm sure their margins are better protected with this approach and seeing there aren't many Acura dealerships in CT, the options are limited. I believe I could have paid a little less than what I did pay, but I'm hoping that with this approach of "no haggle pricing", they truly do focus on customer satisfaction as they preach. So far so good.... Also, Tony Braglia the GM is helpful and personable.... thanks for the TH! My recommendation is to give them shot. Plus, the cars they sell, are really sweet!

My experience with Acura of Berlin was very pleasant. I bought a brand new RDX from Gerald Campana. He was great. This guy ran around like crazy to get me what I want. Before coming to Acura of Berlin, I visited several other dealers. All of them game me less money for my trade and wanted more for this car. In addition, some dealers made me promises that they couldn't keep and even had sales people with an attitude. When I eventually came to see Gerald, he was able to get me a better deal than anyone else. I got this car for less and they gave me more money for my trade. They were also able to find me a very low interest rate for financing. On the top of that, they got me a car in the color that I wanted even though they didn't have one in stock. I wish I could give 0 star. I had oil change with this dealer five months ago. My car ran out of oil even though it still had 40% oil life. I took my car back to this dealer for oil change again ( to add oil actually), so they said that my car is burning oil. They told me that I need to drive 1000 mile and come back. I did. They did oil consumption test today and said my car does not burn oil. It is my understanding that they did not change oil at all and just resetted my car oil life last time. I am not taking my car to this dealer again.

They absolutely were settled on the price of the car I was looking at. It was originally $20,500. They brought it down to $20,200 and that was the best they could do. I dealt with them for 2 weeks. Glad I didn't buy the car there. Out of curiosity I went online to see if they still had the car a few weeks later and they did. It was listed at $19,900 But I thought $20,200 was the absolute best they could ever do?... Their inability to negotiate better lost them a customer.. I bought an identical ILX with fewer miles and a better warranty from Hoffman’s

Always the best car shopping experience anywhere around! I was assisting my Aunt with her next car purchase, going with her to compare many makes and models over a period of 3 months. As soon as she decided that Acura was the next car she wanted, I knew that I would suggest buying it from Acura of Berlin. Even though there were many other Acura dealers closer to her, she took my advice and we both weren't disappointed one bit! This was the worst experience i have ever had a car dealership. The front desk receptionist had 0 knowledge of anything. I tried to turn in a lease early they refused to accept the car back until we drove it off there property and waited for them to schedule an end of lease turn in inspection which cannot be done at the dealership. The rudeness was incredibly off putting. buyer beware when leasing from this dealership they only care about customers at the beginning of the process. On top of terrible attitude the lack of knowledge and willingness to help was absolutely appalling. I would never give them my business or refer anyone here.

There was no question that I would return to Acura of Berlin, and specifically Larissa to work with me on my next Acura. She accommodated my very complicated schedule, "jumped through hoops" to meet me at my convenience, and ultimately helped me with the decision making process in an unbiased way. I got an MDX 2016 from this place, the car has a recall ON TAIL LIGHTS for over 4 months and I found out online, they have never called me to let me know, I have a Kia 2015 from Kia dealer in New London, had 3 recalls thus far and I was called right away every single time. ( not to mention I took the MDX 4 month after buying it and they wanted to charge me $150 for a part, that should be under warranty. BE CAREFUL !!

AND THEN THE REP CALLED ASKING WHERE I AM AFTER I LEFT A MESSAGE WITH THAT REP OF WHAT HAPPENED. IF YOU CANT EVEN SAY HIGH TO A CUSTOMER WHEN THEY WALK IN I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT ELSE IS TO COME .... The service guy told me my car had an oil leak and that I had to pay $600 to get it fixed. I explained I have no oil leak because I park my car in the garage an have never seen a wet spot. I took it to Acura in Milford and they explained to me I have no oil leak and they don't know why Acura in Berlin said what they said. I will never go back to Berlin, I would rather travel 45 minutes to Milford. I will be purchasing my new 2017 from Acura Milford. Acura Berlin should be ashamed and embarrassed, they have lost so many customers to North Haven and Milford. They are remodeling a new spot for the dealership in Berlin, they should also start by thinking about hiring new people that know what they are doing.

I had a good experience at this dealership. Being a past Honda Platinum Technician and ASE Master Technician, I wanted to take it to a dealer. Knowing that they have factory trained technicians meant a lot to me. I took my 2006 RL in to diagnose an AWD fault light since I did not have the scan tool to check the code. The tech who worked on my car found a faulty AWD control unit. I took his word, went ahead and replaced the unit myself. It fixed the problem. I was happy with the diagnosis charge and service I received. It is nice to know you can still count on professionals to do a quality diagnosis at a reasonable cost.

Same as another reviewer. Used car has been on the lot since November. 4 1/2 months later still there. Its a fairly reliable and hard to come by at finding used Subarus. They were not going to budge on the price at all stating the "We base our vehicle according to the market and what similar ones are selling for". Well obviously your not selling this one because you refuse to negotiate anything. I would think that after 4.5 months of sitting on the lot someone would want to sell it. All I wanted was to pay what they are asking out the door which meant tax, fees and etc are included. So they rather not sell a car that's been stale for 4.5 by incorporating 1987.22. While this model works for car places like Carmax, regular dealerships should not limit themselves.

Went to purchase a used vehicle from this dealership yesterday, gavethem a call and they didnt pick up so I called again and a very rude and confrontational man picked up the phone to tell me the car was sold. The call got dropped as I was driving through a dead zone. This was followed by a phone call back to me where the same man said, "that was rude" and proceeded to hang up on me. I eventually got in touch with someone that told me that man was incorrect and the car was still up for sale. But the lying continued. I went looked at the car took it for a test drive and the car I was told had no damage at all was clearly in a minor accident at some point. Big scrape across the front bumper, 3 wheels were curbed and the front bumper was cracked in two places. I was told, "we have priced the vehicle accordingly". After all of that I was putting in the credit appt when they told me I need a deposit to show commitment to the bank, this is untrue. And I was threatened that they would not continue with my app if I did not put a deposit. After i spoke to the manager who said no that is not required I was also told that someone else has a deposit on the car. If someone has a deposit on a car you should not still be trying to sell it. The point of a deposit is to know they wont be selling the car to someone else while you are trying to purchase it. So I was lied to 3 times in the process, needless to say. Will not be recommending this dealer to anybody I know.

In order to be fair I will provide both negative and positive experience from this dealership from which my husband and I, over the last 15 years, have purchased 4 vehicles. I have always held Acura at a high standard for their sales and service but this last experience really changed our minds. We randomly dropped in on a Sunday and after looking at a few vehicles Easton came out and began speaking to us. Things were going ok until we went inside and we began to talk numbers. My husband and I told him we weren't sure on budget if we love the vehicle we would see at that point but he denied us a test drive because "we were wasting his time and ours" and "that he had a family". He told us he wasn't going to show us a vehicle we could not afford and that he had other customers to get to (there was barely anyone there) . We then told Easton that we had been there over the winter and had a great sales person help us and she let us test drive multiple vehicles. Easton, then made comments about that coworker and said "she could have gotten fired" completely unprofessional! We were so insulted by his comments and attitude we left angry. We went home and thought about it. I emailed I believe was the general manager to let him know we are valued Acura clients and honestly was not very helpful and never really addressed the rude, sales person only that we should come back and see Larissa and honestly, that is the only reason we decided to give them another chance was because past experiences were pleasant. Larissa was great. And if you are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable sales person, Larissa is your gal. We ended up purchasing the vehicle from her and we are happy with that decision. A good sales person makes a huge difference but Acura should look into this so it doesn't happen to any other valued and returning customers.

I just bought my first brand new car in April; a 2018 TLX from Acura of Berlin. Larissa was the best match I could have asked for in terms of working with a sales person. In the initial meeting with her, she started by asking what I was looking for in a car. She listened to price points, features, and what I liked about my previous car, and driving habits. Based off that information, she had me test drive two different vehicles. When I had trouble deciding between the two because I liked them both, Larissa was patient, understanding, and in no way, shape or form, pressured me into buying before I was ready.
