Visited McDonald Volvo last week and was greeted by a very courteous and professional salesman, Joe Cimino. What I liked about Joe was a no pressure sales pitch to buy a vehicle. Joe spent a lot of time with my family going over the details of a Volvo XC90. From upper management to the sales team, there was never any pressure to buy a vehicle from the dealership that day or even in a week or a month. I truly valued their hands off approach to not pressuring me to buy a car from them. The story ends happily as my family did end up buying the XC90 from Joe. The entire buying process was smooth and painless. Joe did everything in his powers to get us the vehicle we wanted with all the options we wanted. This is our second purchase from McDonald Volvo and we were just as impressed the second time as we were the first time around.

This place is shady. My experience suggests that they're using bait and switch scams to lure you in then try to sell you a vehicle for 2X as much. I found a vehicle advertised online that was a crazy good deal - enough for us to drive 1.5 hours to come see it. It had been on CarGurus for 5 months and price dropped several times. We got there at 10:30am on Monday and by that time the sales person told us "oh, it just sold this morning - you'd be surprised how often that happens." In researching why cars would sit on the lot for that long, I saw some comments in forums about bait and switch scams. I was still being trusting, had messaged (even that am) with a sales person who told us to come on in and see it. Sure enough, by the time we got there, the car was "gone." No one could explain why other cars weren't selling at the same low price - the stories were really weak excuses for what now appears to be a lie that they were just trying to cover up... You'd think that by the next day or 2 days later (today) that the inventory would be updated with the "sold" car removed. It was updated the next day, but just another $1K price drop. Buyer beware. I wouldn't shop here. The inexperienced sales woman insulted my husband’s intelligence about cars right in front of me (the buyer - he’s been working on cars since he was 5; meanwhile she’s been trying to sell them for 5 months) and the test drive was awkward. They lowballed my trade in by an insane amount, and instead of selling us a ~$30K used car that we came to see, they tried to get us into a ~$60K lease with payments well over 2X what I am paying now. They wasted 3+ hours of our time, never-mind the 3 hour round trip drive. My husband and I both left with a really bad vibe that I haven’t been able to shake. When I saw the $1K price drop this am on the “bait car” that they allegedly “sold” yesterday, all of my suspicions were confirmed.

This is an update from my review from 17 hours ago. Came in and spoke with the service manager Tim and the lead mechanic Shannon. They took a look at my wife's rear lights right there in the driveway, found the right reverse light and right rear fog light were in fact out and replaced them on the spot. Also looked over the vehicle in regards to the oil low level indication on the dash and we're able to fully explain the situation. Shannon said that at our next scheduled maintenance he would be the one doing the service so we know it was done right and we can follow up on the oil consumption issue. McDonald Volvo made the wronged situation right

He asked questions and listened. We discussed the differences in other options in the market like BMW and Audi that I was also considering. Every person you talk to gives you a different story about what they have in stock and what they dont. They gave me the run around for over an hour just to then tell me they didn't have what I wanted so I should buy something else they have. I went specifically for one exact vehicle! Oh and the best part, is if they get your phone number they will call and text you 4 times a day. Not even joking.

Richard Ruybal was very arrogant.He has no business being in his position because he CLEARLY has no idea what he's talking about in regards to services on vehicles. He insisted the light on my dash was an oil light after I was clear I knew that was not the problem. Finally a technician came and clarified I was right. Richard is only good for reading a list off to me provided by technicians. I had questions and he had zero answers, replying only "that's what the list says" if you are going to be the face, the front person, of the service department I expect you to have at minimum SOME knowledge of the vehicle. Very frustrating experience.

I can't say enough positive things about our recent experience buying a car from McDonald Volvo. We worked with two separate sales associates, and both were the opposite of "pushy." We have been looking for a car for a very long time but hated going to dealerships because of how relentless the sales associates were. Keith Peterson immediately put us at ease and allowed us to drive the XC60 while calmly letting us know about the features and allowing us to ask questions. We never once felt like he was reading from a script or just giving us the party line. After going to another dealership to look at a couple other models, we knew we had to come back and buy a Volvo from Keith. Unfortunately, he didn't work the following morning; but we were able to work with Warren and found a very similar experience with him. We ran Warren through the ringer as we sent him to bring a couple different cars up front so we could see them side-by-side before making our decision, in addition to working with our trade-in and getting all the paperwork going. When Keith came in, they worked side-by-side to help us get the vehicle we wanted. I would highly recommend this dealership and these two sales associates to anyone who wants a pleasant car-buying experience.

I purchased my car from McDonald Volvo in April. The receptionist a young blonde was extremely rude when we walked in to check in. She literally just stared at myself, husband, and children which made us awkward. She made no indication of wanting to help or offering any form of a Hi. Not a great way to start off but we still wanted the Volvo XC90! I had been emailing Aucencio for a few days and set up a time to meet with him and he was training a new sales guy TJ. We spent literally 8 hours at the dealership. I was initially denied because my DTI is a bit steep due to having student loans who doesn’t. So, I was literally on my way to Mike Ward Infiniti to look at the QX60. I got the call from the Sales Manager saying I had been approved. I turned around went back started the process. The numbers we had discussed were FAR off from what they sent to the bank. At that point I was over being at the dealership and my son was extremely cranky. Finally keys in hand! After driving the car for a week I noticed the brakes squealing insanely loud, and the music would cut out 10 minutes into my commute and wouldn’t come back on at all even with turning the car off and then back on. Took the car in the shop to have it looked at. They had the car for almost two weeks and put over 100 miles on it to replicate the brakes squealing and the music cutting out. Apparently they had to call Sweden a lot because they hadn’t had this problem before. I Spoke with Rob M. The general manager of McDonald Volvo and voiced my concerns I have never felt invalidated in my entire life! He said to be verbatim expect when you back expensive luxury cars for them to have issues that’s why warranties come with cars. No the car didn’t even have more than 600 miles on that’s way too early to be exercising the warranty in my opinion. I asked to trade the car in he told me no there’s nothing wrong with it. But there is the brakes are unbearable and I can’t enjoy my car with the music. They replaced the amps, oiled the bearings and joints and whatnot. Had the car back for no more than 10 minutes and same issue with the music. I’m livid at this point because I didn’t change anything didn’t do anything. Shannon the certified Volvo tech was baffled that it would go out so quickly after working on it. According to them there’s only been three cars to ever do this. Sounds like a manufacturing defect to me!!! Rob tells me well maybe you shouldn’t listen to your music so loudly. Okay, so listening to my music at a 30-50% volume ratio is “too” loud or even max at 70% volume he says no one in their right mind listens to their music that loud. Wow, okay so with all the windows down sunroof open you try to listen to the music at 30%-50% volume it comes in at a quiet whisper that can barely be heard. I spoke with the VP of Operations Chris Powers to which he never returned my calls I got handed off to Craig to which he said he’s been trying to replicate the same issue my car has had and has only had it happened a few times. Apparently, I have a base model XC90 Volvo that cannot handle bass or loud volumes. The model above mine that has a Bowers and Wilkins sound system and that one can tolerate more bass and volumes above 70%. To which Rob replied you barely got approved for the first one I doubt you could get approved for that model which is $70k+ I was shocked he was say something so tasteless to me. I then again asked to trade the car in he told me know it’s already been tagged, titled, and the value has depreciated. No more calls returned, countless voicemails left. I felt I should be able to trade the car in without a financial loss to which Craig and Chris were suppose to get in touch with Volvo to handle the trade difference. Again no calls or follow ups. I consistently fear my music will go out listening to up 50% so I can’t even enjoy the car to its fullest potential without worrying about having to bring it back to the shop for them to work on again for another two weeks. Save your time and money go to Rickenbaugh volvo they care and listen to you.

If there’s 0 star I will definitely give 0. No profession at all, treat customers like idiots. Grady used word “losing money” and “no way” again and again, ignoring the fact that their used car price was actually over market. On Saturday, the sale manager Micah promised a price with $1000 special while on Monday( it’s the earliest day to reach out after Sunday off) the price raised back 500 even after checking with the same person!! Nobody would accept such change in 2 days and I sincerely want this car because we drove 1h to their center twice and sent an email to follow up( though no reply). Their reply was that it was 30th so they wanted to sell more cars while today it’s 1st. Nobody even told us this when we left on Saturday. Sounds ridiculous and disappointing. For these two visits, there’re two groups of people, it seemed the second group didn’t care about us at all because only the one I was in touch would get the trade.

While a Volvo can sell itself, the staff made sure we understood thoroughly what McDonald Volvo could provide for us. Dylan is a remarkable teacher and demonstrated mastery with our model's features. Jacob did not rush nor did he pressure any of the finance or service options being offered. Robert and Ray made sure everything was going well - like good hosts at a gathering - yet rightfully taking pride with the quality service we were receiving. Although we were at a car dealership, you would not really know there were cars parked in the showroom as there were no irritating automotive odors. It was obvious that attention to even minor details is important with this team. Afterwards, we had no problem driving over 300 miles home and enjoyed the trip - not just because of the great car - but the effort by the staff to assure we felt confident about our transaction without buyer's remorse. Trenton's follow-up for details has been great. Very professional group. I highly recommend others considering a vehicle acquisition to first visit with McDonald Volvo.

I intended to check out Volvo on the recommendation of my son-in-law as part of my plan to check out 5 vehicles and hopefully make a decision within a day or two at the latest. I almost left when the only salesperson on the floor was busy ad it appeared no one else was working. When I started to leave, that sole salesperson called to me and quickly apologized for and explained why there was a lack of salespersons in the showroom but said he would be happy to show me the S60. Ryan Tarket not only was the reason I stayed to learn more about the vehicle, but his knowledge of the car and his responsiveness to my questions and issues made me decide on the car without the need to check of the remaining scheduled test drives of your competitors. Moreover, closing the deal with Ryan showed him to be a person of candor and integrity and I never had the feeling I got at other dealers where you waited for the other shoe to drop on every aspect of the deal. There were some bumps in finalizing the deal but the only reason I felt comfortable making the decision to buy the S60 was your salesperson combined with an outstanding vehicle.

I'm not a fan of social media and never thought I would find myself clicking onto anything to write a review. However, the experience I had at McDonald Volvo in purchasing a new car was exceptional. Seriously. I found a car I was interested in and emailed Aucencio who promptly replied and I was at the dealership for a test drive the next day. I met with Jason who took me on the test drive and he too was exceptional. I loved the car! They gave me a great price and didn't try to pressure me into purchasing anything extra. After the test drive I told them that I didn't have a lot of time and I needed to be out in 15 minutes. The manager, whose name I can't recall, smiled and then actually made it happen. I signed the paperwork for the new car in less than an hour and I was gone! I highly recommend the team at Mc Donald Volvo! A car can be found anywhere but great service is a rare commodity!

Due Diligence Still Required! They may have gorgeous, minimalist sales offices and be a main dealer, but after I purchases a used XC70, the service I received after purchase was no different from any of the cheap car dealers further up Broadway. After the vehicle suffered component failures 3 weeks after purchase , the service department fixed it for $300, notified me of a pre-existing engine problem and offered to fix it for a further $500. The $800 invoice didn't even elicit an embarrassed smile from the salesman, who offered a surly "I'll talk to my manager and get back to you", but of course, never did.....

My wife brought her Pre-owned vehicle she purchased from this dealership in for a low oil light and burnt out reverse lights and rear fog lights. The service tech blew smoke and told my wife that Volvo does not have a rear passenger fog light. I just crawled under the SUV and low and behold, there sits a burnt out rear passenger bulb. The mechanic also stated that they checked all the lights... Rear passenger reverse light is still burnt out. Why pay for a service plan when you apparently have to do the service yourself to get it done right?

Absolutely terrible service. Wasted hours to test drive a vehicle that was not ready to be driven even though I had an appointment set up. Vehicle was apparently just traded in and sitting on a lift. It was disgusting inside and should not have been shown. I was told it would be ready the following day and sales would follow up with me...never heard from them for over a week. Was then told it was still being “cleared.” After waiting weeks for it to clear, I followed up yet again and was told it has been sold. Great way to treat potential buyers. I will never consider buying from a McDonald dealership again.

I finally had enough. After nine years and three Volvos with Volvo McDonald's I quit with them. It is unprofessional from the moment you buy the car, wrong entered info in the system, warranty contract which is changed after signing, car maintenance which breaks the car, customer service that does not pay attention to detail or customers time, no loaner cars. The mechanic team turned my 2016 V60/T5 into a lemon after only three years.

Worst experience ever. Dave in service was a complete dick. It took an hour to just communicate to him what I wanted done, just a fluid flush, but he made it very clear he was frustrated that I was showing up 40 minutes before close. I have never experienced such terrible service for such a simple request. Dave kept saying I wasn't answering all his questions and yet I kept asking him what questions do you want answers to? I dont even know why a fluid flush would require me to answer any questions. After lots of frustration from Dave, I decided to just leave and drove a couple blocks over and had the best service ever. In and out. I can't believe McDonald would have someone like Dave working for them. Check and see if they have a Dave with little hands in service before you decide on buying a volvo from there. Trust me, that is not someone you will want to deal with.

I test drove the XC Volvo 40 here a few months back because I was interested in the vehicle. I also had one of those $50 gift card coupons that a friend has signed me up for. I went to McDonald and it took awhile for someone to come out to even greet me. I guess if you are not completely suited up, you are not worth their time. Due to the length of time it took to receive assistance, I was then running low on time, but still wanted to drive the vehicle. I did a quick test drive and the whole experience was extremely awkward. I was taken through a construction zone while the car salesman kept trying to show me things on the touch screen. Im a very safety conscious person, hence why I was interestes in the Volvo, but that was just ridiculous and weird. At the end of the test drive, I handed him my coupon for the $50 coupon. My friend, who also test drove the XC 40 received his gift card within 24 hours. It has now been 2 months and I was fed a bunch of information where they skirted the issue, passed off the delay to a third party company and would not give me contact information for the third party. Overall, this is your typical skeezy dealer ship and I did not buy my vehicle from them, but went elsewhere.

I would give this dealership 0 stars if I could. I purchased my Volvo from them just barely over two years ago. I have since taken my car to them for each service appointment and had great experiences until my last visit and my most recent. My last visit coincidentally wasn't covered under the "warranty" and they wanted me to pay nearly $700 to have something simple fixed. My husband was able to order the OEM part and fix it for $120... Then today after traveling 45 minutes to have my car serviced found out that the "service" plan that was forced on us when we purchased the car to get the better interest rate was not the plan we were told it was. When we purchased the car the finance manager had said it would cover any services on the car other than the tires and brakes. Well of course today that wasn't the case, even after expressing my concerns about the dishonesty of the "salesman" the manager of the service dept said the only solution would be for me to buy a maintenance plan for $3295. Yes $3295 after being lied to and oh did I mention I had already been there an hour before this solution was presented to me. I have never been treated with such disrespect and dishonesty. I left without having my car serviced and will never visit this dealership again. I am incrediably disappointed in how the manager handled himself and made no attempt to take care of me. Because I wasn't buying a car and earning him a commission he had no desire to help me.

My purchase was done entirely over the phone and online; I live too far from the dealership to have come up for a test drive. I knew that I was a fan of the Volvo XC60, however, given that my family already owns one. Under normal circumstances I would have been fairly wary about completing a purchase remotely, but Josh Smith was excellent and made me feel sufficiently reassured that I was dealing with good folks at McDonald. I appreciated his honesty, which was exemplified by his willingness to do a Facetime walk-around of the vehicle in which he pointed out any minute nicks and scratches, all of which had been repaired. As such, the vehicle arrived exactly as described. The only issue I ran into concerned the delivery. We had agreed that the car would be accompanied by all-weather mats, but upon delivery they had not been installed. However, I got in touch with Josh and he promptly apologized for the oversight and agreed to send the mats to my home address. I would not hesitate to recommend this dealership.

Hello, My name is Sam V., and I want to tell you about a rare, great experience that my 16 year old daughter had relative to a car dealership. I know its not very often someone takes the time to tell a positive story about their dealings with a business, but if ever a story needed to be told it is this one. My daughter started saving for a car when she was 14, and late this past summer she found her dream car. It was a 2007 Volvo being sold by a private party, so wanting to make sure she did not experience problems, I (her dad) took the car into McDonald Volvo in Littleton to have a used car check done. The car only appeared to have minor problems, and with an overall thumbs up rating from the dealership, she bought the car. Long story short, it turned out that there were a number of problems relative to the cars engine, and the only option was to replace the entire engine. At substantial cost to the dealership, they stepped up in a big way and replaced the engine at no cost to my daughter. This story does not happen often. In spite of the fact that the damage could and was easily missed and that my daughter did not even purchase the car through McDonald, they replaced the engine at their expense. They took a potential financial heart breaking story for my daughter and with many man hours and expense, they made sure it was one of happiness for her with her car and her first car buying experience. ROUGH START, BUT GREAT ENDING As I shared earlier, we had a bit of a rough start through a series of miscommunications. But I'm happy to report that McDonald and their GM, Robert, were quick to respond and make things right. Since then, everyone - and I mean everyone from the GM to the showroom receptionist - has really bent over backwards to not only fix the snafu, but also to ensure that my wife and I had a great experience. If you're looking to buy, I highly recommend reaching out and requesting to work with Laurence. We met with him on our first visit, and he was kind enough to spend nearly 2 hours with my wife and I setting up the car (This is after we bought, so his only incentive was to make sure we were happy - and we were). He was absolutely great. What started out a little rough has turned into one of the best car shopping experiences, and we're absolutely delighted with our 2019 XC 60. It's amazing. Thank you to Rob, Laurence, Grady and everyone at McDonald. BAIT AND SWITCH: Update: 10.23.18 GM Robert was kind enough to reply online (smart marketing move). We traded emails and he vowed to help. Will report back whether or not they really fix things or just post Marketing-savvy responses to negative reviews. 10.19.18. I had a similar experience. Received a signed offer, took off work on a Friday, filled out a credit app (844) only to be told, “Sorry, that car was put into the loaner fleet. We can’t lease it to you. But we do have this more expensive one in the color you want.” The sales guy was cool, and tried to offer me a good deal but it was several thousands more expensive. He even said, “I know this sounds like a bait and switch, but it’s not.” NO, this is precisely the definition of bait and switch. Bait me in on one car, then switch. Could have been an honest error, but that would mean these guys are clueless. And they’re not. Had always received good service. But this left a bad taste in my mouth. And no car. Wasted day off and unhappy wife. Back to shopping around. I’ll add an update if there’s any new news.

It could have been so much better. While I came in looking for the new XC60, I decided to drive the larger XC90 and with Dylan my salesperson providing valuable insight to the car's long list of features, I left that evening more or less sold on the vehicle. Given I consider myself an informed buyer and prefer to purchase from the dealer closest to me, I returned the following day, Saturday, for another test drive with my wife as it was her car we were replacing. Dylan was available at the agreed upon time, the second test drive a success, and we quickly arranged a deal made easier by some newly offered Volvo incentives. All good to this point. Four hours later (!) we left with the car and while admittedly a Saturday, that was way too long for a deal without financing. Considering the wait, we mutually agreed with Dylan to return later for a few post sale items and a proper delivery of the car. This is the point where I began to get discouraged as addressing these post sale items was way too involved on my and Dylan's part and while he truly tried to help, it was obvious the dealership's process to handle these concerns was weak. Two trips later and a number of different phone calls and text messages with different areas of the dealership (service, clear bra, etc.) the work was complete but the experience fell well short of what I would have expected for what is considered a premium brand and at least in my case a $70K car. Volvo has a great product line and if MacDonald expects a piece of their success, they need to greatly improve their post sale process. Other dealerships in their competitive space often have a 'concierge' person who handles all the 'we owe' parts of the sale and that would have greatly improved the start of our relationship. Again the car is great and Dylan was perfect, just a shame the balance of the process isn't better supported.

I bought a used Volvo about a month ago. It is my first and last experience buying from Volvo, based on my experience. Here's what you need to be aware of: (1) The A/C does not work on the driver side, although the car was advertised as having Air Conditioning. The response from the Used Car Sales Manager after I communicated the issue was the following, (this is a quote from him): "We would make sure this car blows cold air but not necessarily through all the vents." When he agreed to bring the car in to be checked, the service department identified a problem, but the Used Car Sales Manager refused to cover the cost because he felt there was nothing wrong, and that the A/C 'blows cold just not to your liking.' (Again, another quote from him.) They offered to pay for half of the repairs ($300 of maintenance within a week of purchase ... if they had responded to me then to fix a leak and recharge the system.) Again, this is the driver-side Air Conditioning that does not work, essentially meaning that the car can't be driven above a certain temperature outside because it is too hot inside. (2) The sales person I worked with told me on two separate occasions that the transmission had been service and/or rebuilt 'very recently' so I didn't have to worry about that. When I pressed him on specifics, he looked around and said he couldn't find the specifics, but new it was just done. When I called about the Air Conditioning the week I bought the car, and mentioned what felt like a kick in the transmission, he suddenly had the exact time the transmission was last serviced, which was 70,000 miles prior to the current mileage. Had he told me that originally, I would not have bought the car. I purchased a used car. I don't expect it to be perfect. But I went to what I believed to be a reputable dealer representing a respected brand, purposely avoiding 'corner' dealerships not associated with a brand. My experience with McDonald Volvo's sales department was that I was just another sucker that they pawned a car off on. To advertise Air Conditioning and then justify it not working is very shady and the entire discussion of the transmission feels like a lot of critical information given to misrepresent the reality of the situation. So ... beware. Whatever you're being told here may or may not be true ('the transmission was just serviced.') And whatever features - critical or not - that are advertised may not actually work 'to your liking' (as in the air conditioner might not work on the driver side and that is the customer's problem, not theirs). The standards here are obviously very low. Or possibly those are the standards of Volvo in general. Disappointing, because this has not been my experience when dealing with other brand dealerships. Unfortunately, McDonald Volvo follows no higher moral compass than a stereotypical huckster dealership. Buyer Beware should be in very large capital letters. I will say that their service people were very nice and helpful, but completely overshadowed by the Used Car Sales staff and management.

I have heard wonderful things about all Volvo dealerships and was confident that the Volvo specialists would take care of both my vehicle and me as a customer. I could not be more wrong. This service department is nothing but problems. The initial consult was great and helpful, I was told that turn around was “usually” one day and I would be hearing from them by the afternoon. Well as time passed I had to reach out to get and update and be told after 4 hours that they still weren’t done. I did finally get my service video, which was helpful and seemed honest. When I called for an estimate, they didn’t have one and didn’t know about the parts I needed. I unfortunately missed their call when they finally had the information and when I called back, my service rep was gone for the day even though he said he would be there for another half hour. I talked to another rep that had no idea about my car and we had trouble communicating what exactly I would authorize. I got in touch with my rep in the morning to specifically get only the service I wanted. He said it was taken care of and he would keep me updated, which he did not. I continually had to reach out to get updates and was NEVER informed that my parts had to be ordered and the car would not be ready for an extended period of time. My “one day turnaround” has now “turndaround” to a 5 day nightmare. I finally had to have my husband call because I was so fed up with the story of being “updated.” My car was NEVER ready when they said it was and when it was finally ready to be picked up, it was throwing engine codes the techs had no idea how to fix. It went in for transmission problems and when it was picked up the light advised “transmission service required.” They did not check their work or bother to drive it prior to it being picked up. I am writing this as it is still in the shop, because after over 20 minutes they still cannot diagnose it. They have no manager on duty at this time, but it is clear this lack of oversight has been going on for a while. I will be following up with management about their deplorable customer service and now the awful service performed. I will NEVER return and hope this helps others before they bring their vehicle here.

These guys are a joke, I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to be ignored & lied to. My experience in dealing with McDonald has gotten worse the more I've pointed out their incompetence. Let me explain, I ordered a new Volvo that delivery was promised in May of ’12. At the end of may, after not hearing from anyone, I called to see what was going on. It took them nearly a week to call me back, and then I was told delivery was delayed. No reason, no apology, just delivery delayed. Finally in July, I got a call saying the car was there but, they dropped it off the truck and I needed to come see the damages. Given the situation and the fact I’d paid four payments on a car that was not in my possession I was not happy. My expectation was that it would be immediately repaired. But no, repairs took two weeks and a part was still missing (back-ordered) after a month. Then at 800 miles the e-brake locked up in my garage and the car was towed to McDonald. At 6000 miles a front wheel bearing went out, towed to McDonald. I called and explained that this was a BIG inconvenience, they promised a loaner car. My wife and I got down there and, no loaner. So now we’ve wasted both of our time and no loaner. Finally after two hours we got the loaner but, the point of the loaner car was to not waste our time because of a vehicle repair. So now at 8000 miles the other wheel bearing went out, back to McDonald again. After the repair I asked the service rep: “was this a commonly occurring problem, or related to them dropping the car at delivery?”. He assured me that this was not and the car was good to go. My wife drove it home and when she got home realized there was a part of the car on the passenger side floor. We called McDonald and left a message for the manager. Two weeks have gone by and still have not heard from anyone.

I have been a huge Volvo SUV fan since my first one in 2007. I bought a brand new one in 2016 due to the large amount of business travel I do. On my way from Florida to the Rockies outside of Denver, my engine light came on. Knowing I could not go up to the mountains with that issue, I called this service center and explained my dilemma. I was set up with service advisor Chris, and he was overwhelmingly helpful in squeezing me in first thing the next morning. When I arrived for my appointment, my vehicle was hooked up to a diagnostic computer and a YouTube video was created explaining the issue with my vehicle. It was fairly minor and the cost minimal. I was on my way within a few hours with the issue taken care of. During the entire time I was there, I was communicated with regularly. The entire staff was extremely friendly and upbeat...you could see they enjoyed helping solve customer issues! This dealership takes customer service to the highest level! I highly recommend them! The Good: They offer Lyft rides while your vehicle is being serviced. The Bad: I was quoted about $550 for the 80k mile maintenance on my XC70. When I dropped it off at my scheduled appointment time, it went up to about $660 because of taxes and “shop fees”. Why weren’t those added in already when I got the first quote and made the appointment? The Ugly: I dropped my car off at the scheduled time of 8:45 am and was told that my car would be done the same day. When I texted Max at about 3:40 to see if my car was ready, he told me that their shop got “extremely backed up” and if it got done today it would be at the end of the day. I called Max immediately to talk in person rather than over text. He said that they were extremely busy and had people stranded waiting for their cars. How does a business SCHEDULE REGULAR MAINTENANCE early in the day and NOT get it done? He said that it was unlikely that my car would be done today and offered the use of Lyft rides in the meantime. That’s great and all, but how are they going to schedule Lyft rides for me after hours when I need a ride at an unscheduled time? My wife, who is the primary user of the car, had numerous appointments around town the next morning and Lyft (which was compared to a chauffeur service) would not be convenient. I also asked Max why my car would not be done the same day when I had made an appointment and was told that it would be done. He said that the appointment is only to schedule the “drop off” and not for the actual service. After my wife called and spoke to Max about her schedule the next day, she told me that his customer service skills were very poor. I immediately asked Max to send me a Lyft as I would not be leaving the car there overnight. First he gave Lyft the wrong address, but he got it right on the second time. When I arrived to pick up my car, Max gave me the key and started to hand back a Costco coupon for a service discount that I had presented originally. I told him he could throw it away because I would not be doing business with a company that did not live up to their agreements on timeframe and treated me poorly. Max then offered to provide a loaner car if I rescheduled. That really blew my mind! He could have provided that option out the chute when I called him and discussed my displeasure with my car not being done the same day, or when my wife called to discuss her Lyft needs for the following day. At that point, it was certainly too late for that kind of deal making. Max continued to holler at me as I walked out the door saying that he had tried to accommodate me, but did he really? His customer service is absolutely terrible and he could have circumvented things by apologizing and offering a loner care before I told him I would take my Volvo to Rickenbaugh from here on out even though it is a much further drive for me.

If you own a Volvo, I wouldn't take it anywhere except McDonald. I was referred by a friend and other Volvo owner when I bought mine. Their service department staff is always friendly, courteous, and high energy, like they enjoy their work, and all my vehicle service issues and maintenance have been resolved for a reasonable price. I've gone to other mom and pop type places closer to my home out of convenience and received astronomical (double and triple) quotes for services, but McDonald has always been better with prices. They are Volvo experts, I have confidence that they are honest and that my vehicle is safe to drive once it's been with them. Every experience I've had with them over the past 3 years has been a good one, and they're consistent. It's a busy place for a reason.

We had a week to put the deal together and the team at McDonald Volvo made this a seemless experience. I have no clue why he did it to 40k miles inspection regional miles was only 32k miles, than he service charge me 700 dollar. I though all cover by warranty, please all Volvo customer watch and read it all paper work from them, service people never ever tell customer cover or not cover by warranty.. After you signs, your done they said that you signs!!!!!

I've been going to McDonald Volvo for the last 16 years for service on my different Volvos. I had always trusted them to be honest, fair and most importantly NOT take advantage of me since I don't know anything about cars. I trusted them to help a family member recently, never thinking that I would have to be concerned about McDonald Volvo Service's integrity. The Service Adviser, Christopher Maydick "strongly advised" an unnecessary service, to which she said she would call him right back, which she did. She informed Mr. Maydick she did not want the additional service and he replied, "They may have started already, I'll check and call you back." He did not call back, so she called him back an hour later, no response. She then got a message saying the service was already done and they emailed her the bill. Doing a repair without consent is unethical and not only has McDonald Volvo lost her future business, they've lost mine and the rest of my family's business too. Trust is paramount and I no longer trust them. Follow Up: The Volvo Service Manager did eventually make it right and credit the service to her bill. We appreciate them accepting responsibility for the mistake.

In the beginning of March I was looking for a used car and noticed a nice acura TL for about $8500 , burgundy on the website. I emailed McDonald Volvo and got a prompt response that someone had just come in earlier that day and bought it and put $7K down and was there any other cars they could help me with. I said no. 2 weeks later the car was still on the site so I emailed again. I was told the car just sold again. Now a week later the car is still there. Anyone smell a bait and switch. I came to find out a friend bought a used car from there and they told him it was perfect working order. two weeks later it broke down and he has had nothing but problems with the car and the dealer. I was extremely happy with my buying experience at McDonald Volvo. This was my third Volvo purchase but the first from McDonald and it could not have been any better. My sales person was Bob Sealy and the sales manager was "Randy". I had done a lot of research on the vehicle and I knew exactly what I wanted and knew that the vehicle would have to be "special ordered" from the factory. Bob and Randy made everything easy and informed me step by step of the process. I also had researched what would be a "good" purchase price and they offered to sell the vehicle in that price range without any prompting by me. This helped to avoid the negotiation process which can sometimes be the unpleasant part of buying a car at some dealerships. After the car was ordered, Bob kept me informed of the timing and process of both the building of the car and its delivery. I frequently had questions during the process and Bob would either e-mail or call me quickly with answers to my questions. When the car was delivered, Bob spent a lot of time with me and my wife explaining all the features of the vehicle and had even set up the special settings on the vehicle to my liking before we arrived to take possession of it. Even after I took possession , I had a few technical questions that were not fully explained in the owner's manual and Bob offered to come to my residence to assist me. It was a pleasure to deal with Bob. He has a dry sense of humor and a great "bed side manner", and the few times the conversations slipped into "car salesman gibberish" he quickly recognized it, laughed, and returned to "straight talk" that any potential buyer of a new car would surely appreciate. All in all, it was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in buying a new Volvo. I am already retired but if I live long enough to outlast this particular Volvo, I certainly would consider returning to McDonald to purchase another.

Had the worst experience ever. Test drove a preowned vehicle and I enjoyed the ride however the sales rep that went with me made me feel every awkward and kept repeating “it’s a nice car.” Had no prior knowledge of the car just kept saying, “it’s nice it’s nice” I asked question never got answered, the guy just shrugged his shoulders and didn’t care whatsoever. Couldn’t wait to end that conversation and leave the dealership otherwise I might’ve bought the car.

8/7/19: Changing my review from 2 stars to 1 star for the typical car dealer BS response saying the issues I experienced are untrue. The receipt from Taco Bell is real... tough one for you to deny. Literally, you just validated the reasoning for posting my (accurate and detailed) negative review. McDonald Volvo has a ton of 1 star reviews for a reason. Sadly, I am done with this sub-standard dealership. I will not spend 1 more minute of my life dealing with those clowns. 8/6/19: I had to change my review for McDonald Volvo to 2 stars. I have recommended this dealership to many of my personal friends and business associates. I cannot do so at this time. When the new location opened, the Service Department started to disappoint. Sadly, it has snowballed to where I cannot recommend this dealership. They have cleaned house quite a bit, which speaks volumes. There are outstanding Volvo dealerships in the Front Range and one has been stellar in their care of our Volvo. Two items exemplify my final experiences with McDonald Volvo. First, one of their techs took my car for a taco run (dude dropped the timestamped receipt in my car). When I talked to the management at McDonald Volvo, he actually claimed that it was my receipt even though the Taco Bell location was 2 blocks away from the dealership. He didn't even care that I was so concerned about my car enough to have it towed it to the dealership. The timestamp from AAA drop off was within minutes of the timestamp at Taco Bell. I guess it was more important for their tech to run to the border and grab lunch before inspecting the car for my concerns. I think the breaking point with the McDonald Volvo Service Department was when one of their loaner cars had a used prophylactic in the back seat. It was revolting and just gross. After that, I sold my S60. Unfortunately, all of these issues have all gone on deaf ears when discussed with local management. In my opinion, there is only one way for McDonald Volvo to get their ship together. They need to hire Pete Coleman to run the ENTIRE Service Department. I have complete confidence he will right the ship and bring the level of service back to the high Volvo USA standards. I only know Pete through his time at McDonald Volvo. I trusted Pete's word and appreciated how he took care of our Volvos. I think he reflected the image that ownership would appreciate. He is the kind of guy that creates loyalty to a dealership.

I spent about two months researching, driving, and thinking about what car I wanted to purchase. I drove everything from an Audi to a Volvo. I had sales people at other dealerships who were pushy, or didn't show up for the appointments I had made. I found Ryan at McDonald to be the complete opposite. He was patient, informative, and ready to show me cars at my convenience and on my time frame. As the process proceeded, I actually decided that a Volvo was not the car for me at this particular point in my life; but I still wanted to buy a car from Ryan. To my great fortune, a pre-owned Lexus came up for sale at McDonald Volvo. We felt very good about the deal we came to, how they worked with us and the best part yet, I got to buy my car from Ryan. I will always recommend Ryan and McDonald Volvo to my friends. We live very close by, and I assume that some time in the very far future, I will purchase another vehicle from there.
