I was very hesitant on going to this car dealership, due to what I've heard in the past. I'm glad that I didn't allow hearsay to effect my decision on visiting Gwatney Chevrolet in Jacksonville. I've been looking and wanting a car for a very long time, and was disappointed each time I would try to get one from other dealerships. From the time I spoke to Cheryl on the phone and came into the dealership that day, I was treated with outstanding customer service from the beginning till the end. Long story but, Short story for readers, I was Blessed to get a car, with no money down and with payments I could afford to pay. But the most amazing part was when I spoke to the finance manager Caleb Morris and he was able to get my payments a bit lower than what they said at first. My wife and i purchased a preowned suv with 8,000 miles from here in Nov. Of 2017. We drove the car back home to Jonesboro on a Saturday night. We took it to church sunday and noticed the running board was loose. I climbed underneath and noticed a whole the size of s quarter in the front transfercase and it was bone dry. Also i could see damage to the frame and several other trim and plastic components. I called the dealership monday morning wanting to cancel the deal, they said they could not and that they think maybe one of the employees there may have ran over a curb, they said they would replace the transfer case and assured me it would be fine. That did change that but nothing else, about a month later paint started coming off the front bumper and the fender trim was coming off. I took it to a body shop and had it fixed. We recently located the carfax on the car and it shows an accident with significant damage as well as frame damage. It was our fault for not pulling the carfax before we bought but also it was almost new and the salesman and manager had the whole back story we believed about the previous owner. We now own a 40k dollar suv that will always show that damage when we try and get value for our trade. I am upset that they had this type of vehicle on the lot and also tried to pass it off as like new. We thought buying from a larger dealer would help to protect us some but it did not. I hope that someone reads this that is in a position at gwatney to makes changes to prevent this in the future.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I will not buy a car from Gwatney again. First they sold us a car that's air unit was messed up and didn't say anything to us about it, and didn't give an extended warranty on the car. So we went today, 8 months later, to re-finance the car and they said we couldn't do it because my credit score was not 650. We got in the car and I looked at my credit score on my app my credit score was 650 and they ran something on it that took away 30 points. So not only did it make it where we couldn't re-finance it also now made my credit score "below average". I tried to call to talk to a manager as to why we got denied and why they ran something and did not tell us they ran it that cost me thirty points, and got sent to a voicemail. They never returned my call.

I had a good experience until I discovered my truck was scratched while in their care. The waiting room was pleasant, Mr. Gwatney came by and greeted everyone, I also had a great talk about classic cars with one of the service guys. Of course, they denied they were at-fault and they claimed the cameras would not show what happened 6 or 7 days back. I alerted them about the scratches the next day and received a cell phone number to text the photos to on the following day. Why didn't they look at the camera day 2 or day 3?Bottom line, I will not go back to Jacksonville's Gwatney Chevrolet.

Rusty was my sales guy and handled the showing/test drive all they way to changing my plates from old to new. I ask him about a level kit for my truck and he handled that taking it to A0 sports to get it installed. Again remember Rusty Howard if you want to buy. Did what he said he was gunna do—5 stars Was very respectful—5 stars Delivered on time and everything right—5 stars Showed me the inside of truck and how to work-5 stars. What brought me to the place was a flyer in the mail. A scratch off. It said I won $1000 cash. We call the number and the lady says, "You're ticket is a winner. You're guaranteed one of the prizes on the flyer, but I can't see witch one." So we go. I see a vehicle we take interest in, but first I want to get the winning out of the way. I looked at the vehicle and walked around for 15 minutes before a snippy young woman asked what I wanted. I told her I seen a vehicle we liked but first I wanted to get the scratch off out of the way. So she "runs" the winning card to see how much we could get off of a car, apparently voiding the prize we won, and with out saying a word. Guaranteed a prize, and walked away with nothing. It's not so much about the prize, but about the scam. I know dealerships are out to make money, and they do little things to bring in customers, but if they will go as far as sending out false advertisement, you can bet that they'll cut corners on the car you're buying. They will rip you off more than usual. A place that is brave enough to send out false guarantees, that even in the small print guaranteed a prize, albeit a $10 Wal-Mart gift card, and send you away with the attitude this young lady had, which was only mildly worse than the one the old lady had, is not afraid to take you to the cleaners on your next car. I know generally car dealerships bend the truth and tell white lies, but this is a new level of low. We're talking lower than whale dung. Do not shop here. Do not give your hard earned money to a place as dishonest as this, with people that treat you so horribly. The sad thing is, if they had honored the $1000 cash, I would've bought the Ford Flex without haggling on the price, and since it was used, they would've made the $1000 back easily.

I originally had a horrible experience here. I bought my car used and 3 months later the engine is blown. I hated my sales person. I was given another salesman who did not keep me in the know of what was going on. After bugging one of the managers, Marcus, so much he got me set up with a great sales man, Nash, and left in something nicer than I had originally. I say it really depends on who you get because it wasn’t until my 3rd salesmen that gave me a tour and actually sat in the car and explained my car to me and assisted me with setting up onstar. I just saw a Chevy commercial and was reminded of Gwatney. This car dealership ripped off and took advantage of my father. He was 84 at the time and had Dementia and Parkinsons. They sold him a car AFTER I requested they not do it because of his dementia and Parkinsons. It was a new Impala, which on top of it, had a lot of electrical issues. The dashboard never really worked. The service department said it was because the car wasnt driven enough. Seriously? The staff completely ignored me. One guy even laughed when I told him my fathers health state. They over charged him for the car by $8,000 (USBank and Chevrolet corporate confirmed this) and they added a lot extra charges on top. My father was a Korea / Vietnam war veteran. After my father passed away 9 months later I returned the car. I definitely will not return to this place or buy a Chevy anywhere else. This dealership and Chevrolet is run by heartless, money grubbing people. Stay clear.

Kept my truck 4 days, no communication on issue with popping in driveline. U joints popping when put in gear and rear end pops on turn in reverse. Tech said couldn’t hear it. Replaced leaf spring and shackles, still didn’t fix popping noise. Shane basically blows off customers, ignored my request for tech to check issue again. Picked up my truck today and taking it to Russell Chevrolet 10 mins down the road.

Took my 08 Acadia for some issues and normal service. I felt they were honest when they identified the problem. Although I always wish the cost of the repair was cheaper, I think it was fair. My only disappointment came when I noticed a noise that didn't exist prior to the repair. Fortunately, it was an easy fix which was promptly repaired. Still, the vehicle should not have been handed over until fixed.

This is the first time i have bought a car on my own, and the Gwatney team made it a painless process. I typically HATE car shopping but I had a very pleasant experience there. There are two people that should be singled out for their EXCELLENT customer service: Ryan Miller and Josh Shirley. Ryan was the salesman and worked hard to get me into the vehicle i wanted. He even worked on his day off to iron out some of the logistics. Josh is the finance manager i worked with. He spent several hours with me explaining my credit score, trying to get me the best interest rate, and explaining additional options. He made clear recommendations about what I needed, but was very frank about what was not worth purchasing. Unlike other dealerships, he was not pushy or aggressive. I intend to return here for all of my auto needs in the future.

Well I was only planning to 'look' at some new colorado trucks. Mike Tanner was the sales associate that was helping me. At first I thought this deal was not going to go through...however Mike was persistent and over the course of 2 days he worked some magic and put me into the exact truck I wanted and did it $100 under my monthly budget. I really enjoyed my experience at Gwatney Chevrolet. Blake was very professional not pushy, high pressure sales tactics. He really listened to me and followed up with me just the right amount of time. He and the manager found a demo which fit in my price range. The deal was so good. I usually haggle a lot and never buy the car the same day but in this case I did not need to spend another day shopping. The manager told me I will work with you if you will give a little for me. I went to about 7 dealerships and this was by far the best deal. Blake helped me unload my trunk, changed my license plate and it was hot. He was totally professional in every way. Again, Blake was not pushy at all. He had my car detailed and filled it up with a tank of gas and even gave me a coffee cup. I know a coffee cup really doesn’t matter but it was nice token.

My experience with Gwatney Chevrolet and specifically Sales Associate - Rusty Howard - was pleasant, stress free and more than satisfying. Rusty was sincerely interested in what I was looking for, spent several hours helping me decide on what type of truck would accommodate my needs and took the time to work a fair deal in not only the price of the new truck but also was fair in offering me a good deal for my trade-in. Even after we agreed on the deal, I made further requests for additional options be included in the price and Rusty was able to get everything I requested. Rusty is easy going and applies no pressure in his sales presentation. I'm approximately 2 months post purchasing the vehicle and I periodically will either get a phone call, text or receive something in the mail from Rusty making sure I am still satisfied with the vehicle. That is simply unprecedented compared to other experiences I've had purchasing a vehicle.
