Most importantly I had an even worse time with terrible sales people who did not think I was serious about buying a car. I went to this place and told them to check my car. I waited about 3 hrs for them to charge me $140 for checking it and then telling me it was going to cost to repair an error $1700 plus taxes. I said right a way no and payed the $140. On the way back to home, my car was leaking coolant from the radiator and had to take it immediately to a mechanic. The mechanic said when they checked it, they must have had made a hole in the radiator. He also fixed the rest of issues for $350 with taxes included. TRUE STORY.

I never got far enough to see if there is a positive to the dealership. I made an appt. for an oil change. I gave them make/model/year, etc. I arrived and sat down. 15 minutes later they came by and sad "...bad news, we don't have an oil filter for your car, we could probably get one tomorrow depending on when the truck delivers." I made an appt. Order it before I get there. IQ Test...failed.

They sent me an e-mail insisting that I not fill out the surveys with anything but five stars until I tried talk to them about making sure I had a five-star experience. Well, I didn't necessarily expect a five star experience, and I didn't get one. I spent $1,000 getting a coolant temperature sensor and leaky thermostat housing replaced as well as vacuum leaks causing a check engine light which they said they fixed. However two days later the vacuum leak came back with the check engine light, and when I took it to my preferred mechanic in Carroll County they straight up laughed at the electrical tape patch job that the mechanics at the dealership head tried to pass off. There were multiple places where they hadn't even applied the electrical tape to the vacuum hose themselves, but rather the protective covering that encased them. It's hard when you're in a position of not necessarily knowing everything about the vehicle, and then at the dealership there is guy whose sole job is to communicate how awesome and complicated the work they did on your car was, and how good of a deal you are getting. And yet, this guy isn't doing the work so I'll just go ahead and judge their work by the results. Somewhere between laughable, and good work at steep prices. Thankfully I did not go for the $700 tires, because yes they needed to be replaced but no they WERE NOT showing wire as I was told and were available for under $400 at Worleys in Berryville. So yes after all this I still give 4 out of 5 stars because I feel like I was treated with respect and I honestly didn't expect any better. But I do resent being told how to give my opinion on surveys, so thank you Google!

Would not recommend. Daughter purchased a VW Jetta and less than 3 weeks into ownership (doesn't even have title to tag yet) and still under warranty there was a failure with the turbo and service department says "if turbo went out then it would be covered" however since it is a vital component of the turbo but " not under warranty ". So long story short if she chose to drive long enough for turbo to completely fail it would be covered however since it just a part of the turbo ( won't function properly without repairing) they won't honor the repair under warranty. To add color to the story this is her first major purchase since leaving home (19 yrs old) and has worked diligently to build a credit score to do so and her first experience with car dealerships and car manufacturers is to not stand by the workmanship and quality that they claim as a part of their integrity is a bit of a disappointment to say the least. Once Crain service manager washed his hands of the situation he sent me to VW customer service and while the woman I spoke to was very amicable they were not able to provide documentation that states what is covered under warranty as that is "somewhat subjective to the individual dealerships". So Crain had an opportunity to assist in teaching a valuable life lesson in two ways. One to be noble and honor an insignificant cost to them or to require a 19 yr old college student trying to do the right things and set up her future for success to pay grossly inflated costs for parts and labor for repair. Part is $130 at other suppliers $330 if ordered through Crain with an additional $300 of labor for literally removing 2 bolts ( done in my driveway in less than 5 minutes). Oh and went ahead and charged her $130 to simply read the code which took 2 days to complete.

Apparently the phone lines were down at the VW dealership so the calls were directed to Crain Hyundai . I scheduled an oil change with the lady who answered and she assured me that I would be on the schedule for the service. When I called a few days prior to so called scheduled service I was informed that I was not on the schedule and they did not have any available for when I needed it. The gentleman at the VW dealership was not concerned how their miscommunication was an inconvenience to me. A paying customer who is trying to establish a relationship with a local dealer. It is unfortunate that this will not happen. I will say I do love my VW Passat. Great car

My experience at Crain VW was exceptional from the moment I walked in. The facility is gorgeous and the people are both pleasant and knowledgeable. I was greeted immediately for a scheduled service appointment after parking inside the gleaming service area. The dealership has multiple waiting areas - all with modern, comfortable furnishings. My service was completed and quickly and I was continually updated by the service staff. Overall, a truly immpressive dealership.

AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE and I don't say that about very many things ... especially an auto dealership!! The associates in the repair department (Manny and Maria) very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The Service Department completed the oil change and tune up in record time (an hour!!) and even found an issue I didn't know about. The surroundings were immaculate. They had complimentary coffee, bottled water and GLAZED DONUTS!! To top it off, they washed and vacuumed the car before giving it back to me. It was a very favorable experience. If you drive a Volkswagen and are in the Fayetteville area, Crain 'VW is the place to go!!

I would rather drive to Joplin, MO or Tulsa,OK to have my car serviced than to bring it back here. What's unfortunate is that most people don't have that flexibility. I spent 2hrs 5mins waiting on an oil change and tire rotation @2pm on a Monday, with an appointment, and one other person in the lobby. After an hour and a half I went to inquire about my vehicle and was told it would be 5-8 more minutes... 35 mins later I got the keys. Mind you, I was told that my car would be serviced faster if I had an appt... Talk about poor management of customer expectations. If someone would have told me up front it was going to take more than 2 hours I could've planned for that or taken my car elsewhere.

They were unbelievably helpful. Short Backstory: I was in the market for a car ~$5000 as mine had an electrical problem and burnt down a few days prior. We were visiting this location to schedule a check up on a car we were considering by a private seller, just to make sure there were no hidden problems before we purchased it. The salesman "Cliff" greeted us kindly and listened to our situation. Very friendly. He took us to the back and showed us a beautiful 2008 Mazda3 Touring (my personal favorite Mazda in our budget) with 90k miles and let us test drive it on the spot. Needless to say, he gave us an amazing deal and we drove it off the lot 30 minutes later. I highly suggest this dealership.

They contacted me and let me know they would try to fit my car in early if possible so they could finish it faster for me, the staff gave me multiple updates on my car and were very professional. Had the oil changed on my wife Audi. No Audi dealer close and they have $59.99 coupon for full synthetic. Not happy but I can't really give 1 star. They did change the oil. Just buyer beware. That $60 oil change cost us $90. Not sure why. "Up to 5 quarts". I know her Audi didn't take more than 5 quarts. Sales tax should have been $6-$7. Watch out for hidden stuff from their service department. I'll go elsewhere. When I get my Jeep oil changed @ Lewis it's exactly what the coupon says + tax when I leave. Let me guess, extra charge for the filter, lol. Oil disposal fee, labor. when you have a quoted price, stick to it. None of the underhanded hiden stuff. It was only $30 more. Not that big of a deal. Not the point. Time to trade. Won't be going there or any Crain. Honesty goes a long way.

Overall, my husband and I were quite pleased with our experience here! Wesley and Derek are very informative, helpful, and friendly. Purchasing our first vehicle with VW Crain was not stressful in the least. The only reason I give 4/5 instead of 5/5 is due to the receptionist I spoke with on the phone when I very first called the dealership. I did not catch her name, but being a musician by trade I'm a little hard of hearing. When I asked if I was calling the correct place, her response was, "Yeah, that's what I just said," in an impatient manner. That alone nearly kept us from visiting the dealership, but thankfully the next person I spoke with (Wesley) was much friendlier so we gave it a chance. No regrets!

If there were negative ratings I would use them. I would not recommend anyone to Crain. The staff is loud, very unprofessional, RUDE, and treat people as if they are stupid. My salesman had to get help 4 different times from his co-workers because he didn't even know how to use his computer. I purchased a used vehicle from Crain (which is 2 hours away from where I live)...5,000 miles and 1 1/2 years later I decided to trade in on a new vehicle. So I made the 2 hour trip and basically got kicked out the door because they said my car ( which I purchased from THEM) depreciated $10k over that time period and they couldn't help me. One week later I went to a local dealership (Not Crain) to see if they could help me out, and I am now sitting RIGHT SIDE UP in a BRAND NEW vehicle.

I called and called and talked to one of the finance guys and he said he would handle it. Two weeks went by and still nothing. Finally talked to someone else and got it figured out! I had a car issue on the way to thanksgiving with the family and arrived at 445 to see about getting my car fixed. They were able to get me a loaner and send my on the way to be with my family and had our car fixed by mid afternoon the next day. All on a holiday weekend. Definitely thankful this thanksgiving for their quick service! Of course dealer repairs aren't cheap but everyone knows that and you do get what you pay for. I know the people that worked on my car were knowledgeable about Volkswagen and they used the right parts. Thanks again.

Run away!! I purchased a vehicle from them June 30. 36hrs later when I opened the glove box, cockroaches came crawling out AND it smelled of pet excrement. They covered up the smell with Febreeze. I took the vehicle back in and they did a "detail" job, which did not help with the smell. They said it needed to air out. It is September and the smell is still there and now having cockroaches again! I asked for a different vehicle, they said no! I asked if they would do 1/2 the cost of the upholstery, they said no! Horrible customer service!!! All I got was, "I'm so sorry this happened."

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's better to drive to Tulsa or another place of your choosing to do busjness. This place won't their word on a shaken hand deal. If you make a deal be sure to get it in writing! Also make sure they share everything with you, new things kept popping up in our "deal" when doing our paper work. I won't be going back. I wouldn't have bought my wife's car from there if we hadn't gotten the price we did.

They have the worst team of sellers AND Mechanics ever, the staff is unfriendly and will say mean things and not apologize for it, i heard one of the sales man say he hated the noise of a crying baby right infront of the mother and when she confronted him about it he said he ment the "smell" of the dippers not the crying and then left... they also said i needed a new engine because mine blew and was not replaceable, i was gonna spemd 15k out of my pocket because the warrenty did not want to pay for it ON A NEW 2016 VW GTI WITH ONLY 8K MILES.. i took it to a mechanic and the fixed it... only had a bent pipe.. spend 2k on it... this guys are really money hungry and will not keep their word on the contract agreement... also watch out they tend to up the price 2000 more on ANY CAR FOR Their own pockets.

This is a real split review: My salesmen Kenny Ford was awesome. Nice guy, very personable and a pleasure to just talk to and purchases car from. If this review was just on him and his salesmanship this would be a 5 star... Now Chuck... If this rating was based on him... I would give it 1 star. I have never had a manager be so rude about price negotiation. Though we settle on a price that was at fair market value his friendliness went out the door. It actually the first time I purchased a vehicle and the manager didn't thank me. It's obvious the guy runs a game of intimidation and is more worried about his profit margin and trying to upsale based on monthly payment than get a person a good deal in the car that they want. Overall pleased with the car and hope that I can square it away and chalk up the experience as catching a manager on a bad day.

Visiting family in Arkansas and my brand new Tiguan purchased in Georgia hits a bolt in the road that was literally a foot long. It not only punctured the tire but went through the wheel. Manny in service took my call, listened to me cry, ordered the wheel and tire immediately so it would be in the next day. He stayed in touch with me and was so professional and kind! He knew how stressed I was and offered to wave the labor charges to help me out. I should have stayed with Honda. If I could give the car back and come out even I would, and go back to Honda. It doesnt look like I am the only one having issues with the GTI either. Bought a brand new 2015 GTI in October. A sensor has already gone out that controls the transmission shifting. Parts still haven't come in, they've had it since Monday. The service department is also very snippy.

Went here yesterday to drive a 2011 4WD Tiguan we saw online. We really liked the car and were interested to see what they would give us as trade-in on my car. They never gave us a trade-in value and kept trying to sell us on a 2016 2WD that was $10K more with financing that didn't fit our lifestyle. The manager didn't ask us anything about us or what we wanted in a car. Really disappointing since we were interested in the 2011.

Don't EVER buy Tires from Crain Automotive. I spent over $800 on a brand new set and with 13,000 mile one of the tires failed. These tires are rated for more that 50,000 miles. The sidewall started to separate and bubble. When I got there the service manager Christopher came out and said "oh yeah, thats an obvious defect." With 20 minutes he changed his whole tune and told me that they would only warranty half the tire. He stated it was a "VW thing" not to fully warranty the tire. And, he told me that someone should have told me this when we purchased the tires a little over a year ago. Then he proceeded to tell me that I must have damaged the tire by hitting a rock. This was a "bubble" on the side of the tire, how would hitting a rock damage the side of the tire?? And If I hit a rock, the rim would have shown obvious damage. Complete bogus lie by Christopher. Great job guys, you got me for $85 bucks. But, I'll never come back and I'll tell everyone I can about how crappy a long term Crain VW customer was treated. You guys should be proud!

I made the mistake of timing my visit with the "sales" event. The "salesmen" I ended up being "paired" with were apparently assigned from North Carolina and not professional. With apparent bad communication skills, my total loss insurance check I mentioned, was immediately stored in a back room away from me, and I was shown inventory that made me question everything. I asked for trunk space, and mentioned my preference towards a golf station wagon which I thought, a VW dealership (SportWagen, Alltrack, Used Passat Wagons?) could help me get to, which was completely ignored. I was first shown a Jetta sedan (???) with the excuse they thought I only had the check amount to work with..still...I would expect "trunk space" being the vital criteria in choosing a car to present to me. I, for the second time, stated my budget being between 15-17k, thinking I was dealing with professionals, and this group of two continued to try to up-sell me. After being put into two Subarus (??? I could have gone down the block to Adventure Subaru if that was my interest) I ended the day with being put in a brand new Tiguan, upon inquiring about pricing of the vehicle, I received no answer for 30 min while being "entertained" on a test drive and introduced to all the features of the vehicle. Finally I was told the car would be 26k. That's a long shot from 17k...if you ask me. When I said if we are talking new cars, maybe I could be shown a base model on the all track, I was told those run long order wait times by the salesmen and was never shown even one model. The unavailability statement was negated by a regular Crain salesman later on that day. I then was shown a base model 2015 28,000 mile Tiguan for 21k...When local competition has a 2013 loaded SEL Tiguan with 29,000 for 17,000. It was clear that this particular sales bunch was just trying to pull extra money out of my pocket. I chose Crain as my first try to purchase a vehicle after losing my beloved 2012 2.0 Beetle Turbo in an accident, because I have had good experience with servicing my Beetle there. People were friendly and service was done promptly. However, whoever decided to bring in these external Salespeople for a week, needs to reconsider everything. I would have expected being listened to, and professional handling of my interests in a car, in regards to my budget, while presenting cars that lie within the respective fair price range, especially during a "sales" event. I'm giving them 2 stars, because I hope they return to normality and VW quality after this "sales" event is over.

The only reason I went with VW was because we could always count on the customer service being 100% and always having a way to live our lives with little disruption. Today VW has failed our family. We have 1 car for our family. We shopped many companies before going with VW. I bought a brand new one in hopes it would last. And if it didnt i had VW loaners to help us until they cpuld fix our car or get us into a new one. That is not the case today. My car is in the shop sti under warranty. I have no way of getting my husband from work except to pay a heavty amount of money to get him home and then turn around and pay them again to get him to work until they can magically find a loaner for me or get it fixed. My son missed his appointments. For a normal kids its ok. For a child with ASD missing an appointment can set them back. Going with VW was suppose to lessen our worries. Thats how thry put it! but its only done the opposite. I get u all only have so many loaners but when promised at the point of sale to always have a car as long as my car was under warranty I expect that. Tell the uppers u need more loaners. Maybeu all should be able to get loaners from sister stores. I was warned to stay away from VW but I have only had great experiences so I ignored them. You all showed me. I'm very disappointed in ur store and in this company. Lessons learned. U can't count on VW. I will not return to VW or any sister stores to buy our next car. But i make a promise to you all that i will not fall short on lile u all did. I promise to post this review on each and every site reviews are asked. Have a good day!

Early in the process but overall impressed with this dealership. In about an hour I was able to get a tour of the dealership and drive 2 Jettas. My sales associate Alfredo had a great attitude and inspired my trust. I also met his sales managers Tommy and Joy. Both took time to listen and moved quickly to address my needs/wants. Lead service advisor Andrew provided fast and accurate answers to tech/mech questions. Halfway through the process I am impressed. Absolutely no pressure, this team is professional and works together very well. Worst customer service I've EVER had shopping for a car. I've talked to several staff members, but all are very arrogant. A manAger returned my phone call yesterday. I've gotten very busy at work and couldn't call him back again. We decided to just drive down next morning. As one review stated, they let us wait, had to ask twice how much the trade in value will be. Than I introduced myself, he immediately said: YOU DID NOT CALL ME BACK! I said, what did you just say? He repeated VERY arrogantly: that you did not call me back. I stood up and said, we are leaving. I am appalled!!! This dealership has no pride, is rude and zero skills in customer service. As one person said on here. RUN AWAY! Btw, we purchased a Toyota and were treated respectfully.
