Currently here for an oil change and tire rotation. I called and scheduled it for 10 am it's now after noon and they still aren't done. Very friendly people, but it shouldn't take over two hours to change oil and rotate tires for someone who had an appointment.

This has been my 5th vehicle I have purchased from Alaska Sales and service in the last 5-6 years.. And John Isaacson has done an outstanding job with helping me out through the entire process. The whole team there makes sure that your properly taken care and the go the extra mile to check in with you after the sale to see that everything going well. I have referred my friends and family and they all have similar stories.. Keep up the great work..

This company is not trust worthy at all. I tried to purchase a SUV there two months ago. I test drove the car for 2 months (literally) because they could not get the financing secure. I had put 7,000 down on the SUV. After all was said and done I was told I would get the $7,000 back if for any reason they could not finance the car. I took the car back after two months in perfect condition. However I've had to yell and scream and beg to get my down payment back. It was unbelievable - I had plan to purchase a new car and with my $7,000, but because I was not issued my $7,000 back immediately I was delayed in purchasing a new car. I would not ever do business with them again. You can not trust them.

They had employee lose their cool and screamed at my wife, and 9 year old daughter! This employee was dropping F-bombs and everything (I found out after the fact, it wouldnt have gone down like that if I was there) Then the employee refused to give her name or position to my wife. we got no help for anyone there either, management won't even talk to you.

Parts department is awesome.

Alaska Sales and Service Anchorage, is very well equipped with the tools necessary to take care of you the customer! They have a robust selection of new and used inventory that makes you feel like you don't have to drive to 10 different dealerships to buy something you can just get it here. The environment was very professional and upscale! My sales associate, Michelle was very polite, professional, courteous, and patient with me. Michelle was very charismatic at her job which made me feel better about my purchase. I highly recommend these folks for your next vehicle purchase or vehicle service.

Shannon Chase-Jensen

Very awesome service. Brought my mom to trade in her car. Service was fast and friendly.

Ken Millard

I was offered a complimentary detail on my vehicle because when I initially picked it up there was lint left of the dash and doors. I brought the vehicle in for another details and there was more lint on the dash and doors which I had to wipe off. I was also told the dealership could give me more details on the service included with my new vehicle and specific details that I would need to know in regards to operating and maintaining a diesel vehicle as this is my first. This was not really done. I asked a few questions about DEF and fuel filters; while the staff member was looking on Google I found the answers in the owner's manual on my phone.

Jacob Phillips

If there was a negative experience star I would have used that. My car was bright there because is wouldn't start (STARTING DISABLED DUE TO THEFT SYSTEM) they replaced my shifter. Gear cable. And ignition. All costed $995. 2 weeks later my car is having issues starting right away. Exactly 3 weeks my car gets back into theft mode again. I dropped it off 4 days ago and they still haven't "diagnosed" my car.

it was great service

My chevy truck needed a new transmission. The dealership provided a free car rental for the time my truck was at the shop. My warranty got me a new transmission and free rental. Great customer service. They provided update s of the status of my truck, so felt that I wasnt forgotten in a high volume of car repairs. My truck feel like a new truck Niko in the car repair department was a great help Would definitely recommend

Chris DAGAMER250

They have shuttle service to get you where you need to be after you drop off your vehicle. Was very happy about that--it was so helpful.

Jim Kelly

Purchased a 2016 High Country Silverado in April 2016 from this dealership. All the high pressure tactics were employed. Such pitches are ridiculous yet expected. Sadly. We have visited the service department for routine oil changes & replacement runners over the past 15 months . Each work request went along, okay. This past couple weeks we were alarmed over oil substance leaking from hubcaps. We had to wait 6 days before appointment. We were instructed to bring truck in at 7 am for service promised to be completed by 10am the same day. After numerous calls which went unanswered we were informed at 6PM truck still had not been seen. Service department was alerted to the absolute need the truck has in the daily lives of several disabled children. On opening day the following morning we had to call four times to reach a real person. We were told the truck would be inspected soon. After 11am we learned the truck still had not been taken into department for inspection. We waited 29 minutes on hold to be told the service department was backlogged from the previous Friday. We told sales agent to pass onto service department we would be at dealership to pick up truck within the hour during a change in our work shifts. We would take truck elsewhere. Upon arriving truck was queued second in line to inspection stall. Never seen we were billed $97 for three hours labor to look at hubcaps. Further lies were printed in invoice which claimed truck was driven to evaluate issues. However the mileage when delivered for service was exactly the same at pick up. The service rep we were assigned to we were told quit in the 25 hour period she was overseeing our repairs. Anne never indicated she was preparing to leave her position. We have demanded our $97 funds back. We have put Alaska Sales and Service on notice should anything happen to truck or passengers with their clean bill of health on truck they are liable. We gave them tens of thousands of dollars in a cashiers check in April 2016. We were return customers. This is how they treat us, good luck to everyone else. Stay far away. You've been warned. Alaska Sales and Service are liars & cheaters.

I was in Anchorage for a class/business and needed to get some vehicle work done on my 09 GMC Sierra Dually. Alaska Sales & Service was the ONLY GM Dealership that would even say they would look at my vehicle within a week (warranty work). I understand (seems that most other's that posted here don't) that this is Alaska. The infrastructure isn't like it is in the lower 48. Yes, you have to wait for things up here. The dealership got me worked in within the next day, diagnosed the problem and had it repaired that same day. An exceptional service department and technician. I would also like to point out that they (dealership) did understand my plight. I was just in town for a short time and needed to get the vehicle repaired for a trip from Anchorage to Valdez, through Delta and back to Fairbanks. The fact that the dealership was able to prioritize their service requirements of their customers and place emphasis on the problems/customers that needed special attention is a huge deal and I believe requires a special note. I would like to thank the service department (Mr. Merchant) and the repair crew for their professional repair (clean interior after the repair is a HUGE deal for me) and the attention to detail they placed on my needs and taking my situation into consideration when working my vehicle in for the dead-line repair they performed. Thanks for taking care of me guys! ~Corey

Habiba Kone

Outstanding performance and very fast

Jason and Jennifer Wilhelm

Great job as always! The Service Department was able to get us in fast, thank you!

Hope Baird

Melissa in the service department was very pleasant and professional. She checked availability of the requested parts, quoted me a price and scheduled my appointment for repairs. On arrival, I received a warm welcome, she confirmed the work order and escorted me to the waiting area. When the work was complete on my vehicle. I was concerned that it wasn’t done as previously discussed. She then accompanied me to my vehicle and all doubts deminished. Excellent customer service. If Melissa represents the high quality standards of Alaska Sales & Service, you’ve gotten a lifetime, reoccurring customer. Along with all my friends and family

Gary Baker

Parts department was very helpful and professional. They thoroughly explained how to program my key, and the price was much cheaper than I expected.

teresa komakhuk

was awsome, got all work done in timely fashion. very professional thru out the service department, even got a ride from and picked up by a very courteous driver.

Like other people have mentioned, they definitely don't deserve a one star but zero stars isn't an option. To make a very long story short; I traded in a truck for a brand new escalade. The salesman I was working with gave me verbal and text confirmation of what the expectation was on my trade in. Somewhere there was a miscommunication between my salesman and the manager. When it came time for them to uphold their end of the deal, they refused. I showed the manager text messages of what his salesman said to me and was told that didn't matter. There is a lot more to the story but I ended up taking my escalade back after owning it for 5 days and kept my truck. I loved the car but I don't agree with how they handled this situation and I'll take my $84,000 somewhere else. Sad day but unfortunately, I refuse to do any business with someone who won't be held accountable for their words. If you can avoid this place, I would highly advise that.

Tom HEBNES

Always a joy working with Mike, he made a suggestion that should help me in the long run

T & G Colwell

Needed to have my vehicle serviced while on a long trip. The shop was super busy but the service manager made time to help me deal with our problem. He was not able fix my vehicle on that day, but I was able to continue to use the vehicle.

Chris Layton

The main suggestion I have is this - I set an appointment for a 10am oil change, but every customer is first come first serve, so the dealer services walk in customers for their oil changes as long as their cars were there in line before me - so I waited 2 hours for my oil to be changed. If I took to the time to schedule an appointment, that appointment should be honored instead of just putting me in line with those who simply did a walk in and arrived prior to me. If I had known this I would have just come in earlier - I'm honestly not sure why I would bother scheduling something.

Kizzy Brown

Friendly staff. Bit pricey, but only a few places in town that service my car as Saturns are no longer made; therefore no more parts being made.

Kevin McNamara

Mike Marchant was most helpful in handling my issue. Thank you Mike.

Isaac Luvu

Made an appt for 9 to change tires. Called at 11 they said they were working on it. 1pm I am still waiting....apparently the tech stopped in the middle of service for lunch. Tire changes are usually fairly quick every where else. Do not recommend.

john carrico

I live in Homer, so it is not often that I get up to Anchorage. So it was late on a Friday afternoon when I pulled in to see if they could fit in an oil change. They explained that they were about to close up shop. I was thinking I was out of luck, when they said "let me see if I have anyone that can stay late." They found their man that could stay and was glad to complete the service. It is a great team at Alaska Sales and Service.

Deborah Maddox

I Would have given a ---Star but there isn't an option for that! Alaska Sales and Service-Anchorage has the very worst customer service I have had experience with. None of the departments have any type of communication. The sales staff promise you things that the service department wont honor. I have had nothing but trouble with my 2017 Chevy Silverado. The service staff want to just say that the clunking and jerk from the transmission is NORMAL for the 8-speed transmission. I am no mechanic but I do know that a BRAND NEW truck transmission should not have a big clunk or jerk about it. Especially when we have paid over $50,000! Again I am completely and utterly UN-SATISFIED.

Melissa Brewer

My husband and I have purchased 2 vehicles in the last 2 weeks from AK Sales - one from Mr. 'T', and another from Braun - they were both fantastic... not pushy, and very informative about the vehicles on hand. The finance guys are really good, very personable and did a great job with our paperwork. We will definitely be returning for our next vehicle purchase.

Everta Mooter

Long time waiting

John Langland

A shout out to the service dept. You have a great guy working for you named Mike Marchant.... never been treated so good by any service person ... friendly and courtesy will get you a long way in my book... Just wanted to make sure everyone knew about him...Thanks Mike !!!!

michael giles

Really good people, they took care of me and look out for military folks. If you need ride go and see LE in sales office

David Montague

Anne and Scot where outstanding and professional in everything they did.

Debra Miller

Awesome service! Continue repeat customer!

Anita Hernandez

Great customer service.

Came for maintenance of my company fleet vehicle. They did not have my appointment on record despite me calling several weeks ago for one. Although they let me drop off the vehicle that day, they did not start working on it until the next day, resulting in delays. On day of pickup, they had no record of payment by the fleet management company so I had to call the latter party and have them explain everything (i.e. the bill goes to the fleet management, not to the driver). Overall poor communication. The staff are nice and seem eager to help, but my overall experience was less than optimal for the aforementioned reasons.

Carolyn Crandell

I have bought five vehicles and and my daughter bought hers, at Alaska Sales & Service. It feels like home, everyone is friendly and helpful.

ERIC MCGINTY

Great people in the sales and service department. However the mechanics seem to leave much to be desired.

cancernurmouth .

Kim in service department is inept at here job she asked for vin to look up my truck . Didn’t repeat to verify if it was correct vin but proceeded to tell me she didn’t know why it didn’t work. Then she tells me she had to switch to a different computer system

Joshua O'Brien

Great job as all ways. Able to get in and out with no hassle.

Larry Doroff

I'm not sure if there is enough room to tell you about everything that went wrong with my recent visit. I will hit on the high points. The multi-point vehicle report says that they checked and filled my windshield wash fluid. It was not filled. I tried it as i left the dealership and it was as empty as when i drove in. I had my ties rotated. I am not sure if they were rotated or not and they were different tire pressures. Although i try to keep my tires up to proper inflation there is always some differences in tread wear. The sheet says all of my tires, after 3 1/2 years, are all the same depth. I am wondering if my oil was actually changed and if the inspection that they said was done was performed on my car. I need an appointment to bring my car in for an oil change. I brought it in for my 8:15am appointment and i had to call back at 4pm to find out if my car was ready. When i went to pick it up i stood at the desk of the service writer for about 5 minutes, waiting for him to acknowledge me while he typed something on his computer. When he finally looked up, he got my paperwork and told me he would have someone bring my car around. After paying for my service i waited more than 5 minutes and my car still was not brought around. I went back to find out where my car was and he has not even given my keys to anyone to bring it around. When i finally got my car the person who had brought it around got out and there was no floor mat or seat cover in my car.

Liz Greene

My 2011 Sierra had a backup light and a headlight out so for accuracy and expediency sake I asked the Service Dept to handle this for me. I was amazed at the quality and care given to me and my truck. I did not mind paying a bit more for the service versus attempting this myself and when all was said and done, I have No regrets whatsoever. The appointment did not take long and the service hours available were very flexible to accommodate me. I highly recommend the service department for affordable and quality service. Thank You.

Irene chirigotis

They do not lock their cars or trucks when you bring in your own to get operated on because something got recalled. They don’t have cameras either so if something gets stolen. Your stuff is long gone. Next to downtown crime. I do not recommend this place. Oh wait they do lock their cars but when this big dealership says they have camera but they don’t work and it’s for show. My truck got broken into. There was an employee emergency so we never got a call back when to pick up our truck. So we picked it up the next day. So they had our truck there overnight. The next day I pick up my truck and there’s a bunch of things missing out of it. It could be the employees or it could of been broken into we really don’t know the truth. I do not recommend this place. I understand this happens and you can’t trust anchorage anywhere now a days but when the employees act like it’s no big deal is where there’s a problem. If your going to be one of the biggest car dealerships in anchorage you should pay to get the cameras to actually work.

Nunya Business

On the up side, at least I didn't have a gun stolen from my car while they had it like other people. So they have that going for them I guess? Moving forward however, if you want to regret purchasing a vehicle look no further. Again i was turned away with the same engine code from onstar. They charge for doing nothing to fix the issue. Again. Now again but at least this time I didn't get a bill for it just the knowledge my vehicle is destroying itself so they can try to sell me another. I really wanted to like this place, but they just won't let that happen it seems.

Pete Robinson

I'm an automotive repair shop owner in NC and we found that Alaska Sales and Service had a rare original GM part we were searching for on a national locator. I called, and the representative, Tony, was kind enough to text us photos of all angles of the part before purchasing it. He even called me personally to follow up. In today's world of "Take it or leave it" service these days, I found this so refreshing that it led me to leave this review for Tony's exceptional service.

Dale Richards

They should change the name to "All sales and NO service" absolute worst place to deal with. I will never buy another vehicle here again.

Travis Clark

Wanted a Tahoe, had such a bad experience at the other Chevy dealer in town that I swear I will never go back. Met with Travis, and he showed us our options and never not once put any pressure on us. We went over numbers with Le and Travis, and struck up a deal. Absolute pleasure doing business here, will definitely be back!

Carolyn Bromley

My rotation of winter to summer tires and an oil change at Alaska Sales and Service could not have gone better. The dealership stored my tires on rims free of charge during the period they were off the car and not in use and installed my tires for the summer season. I was checked into the service department promptly on arrival and kept apprised of the progress until service was completed and Mike took me to the cashiers counter, gave me the car keys, shook my hand and told me where the car was parked. The overall experience could not have been handled better!

Louis Howard

1st, I reserved my 8 a.m. appt. for "wait for vehicle" and have the email confirmation but once at service dept. was told, sorry you are "drop off vehicle" category and there are at least 5 OTHER vehicles ahead of you, it is going to be several hours. So instead of waiting I chose to get the shuttle back to E.R. 12:35 p.m. (4 1/2 hours later for a simple oil change and rotation) I received call my silverado 2500 HD was ready. Got it and the reminder tag on the windshield and it has the wrong mileage 8,xxx and I have 13,700 on it already. I never pay attention to them anyway since I have the Oil Life Monitor for that. The Oil Life Monitor was not reset and I had to reset it myself. I went to look for my McGard wheel lock key, no where to be found in vehicle. Service slip says tires were rotated, so the technician lost the key or never changed the tires.the tires read the same 5# under recommended pressure for front and rear exactly as it was when I brought it in, so that is suspect but I can't prove it one way or the other that rotation actually occurred. Great! I checked the oil just to make sure it was actually changed, it looked new and clean. I had to order a replacement at my expense at $14.99 for a replacement.Need to be able to remove the wheel/tires in case of a flat. Sent a message to your "Contact Us" about it but never got a response. Don't expect a response from this survey either. Don't expect me back to the dealership for anything else but warranty work since the last complimentary "free" Oil & Filter & Rotation service was sub-par.

William J Soule

Great dealership with a really good parts department.

It's me Me again

I went in last week to get my truck serviced with my grandmother and it was great. The staff and mechanics are all very kind. The young man who changed my oil was a very respectful. His name was jay. I asked him a good many questions about my truck and instead of pointing to one of the service advisors he answered all my questions very thoroughly. I will definitely be coming here in the future.

Robert Lorentz

I went to the service department today to see if I could get my truck hooked up to one of the portable computers to see if my alternator was causing my battery to die due to lack of charging. Well, I could have taken my truck to one of the local parts stores to do this but since I did buy my truck from Alaska Sales I thought I should see if there was anything else that might need to be taken care of if a code came up. I was asked three times if I had been helped by three different people in the 20 min that I was standing there. Each one of them asked " have you been helped yet?" In which I said no each time and then they followed up with " well someone will be with you shortly” After 20 additional minutes I stopped one of the service folks and asked if there was someone who could just run a quick check on the truck. I was met with the response " sir, do you have an appointment?" I realized at that moment that this wasn't going to be the day I get to have the truck checked out. I was told that it could be 2-3 days before they could schedule me to have the portable computer check my truck. I looked around with one truck in the oil change line and no other vehicles around and said I was just going to go to NAPA to get the free service that takes 2 min to do. It’s a shame that you pay so much for these trucks and the parts stores are more incline to get you taken care of than the Dealer. I have had good experiences at this location, but they fell flat on their faces today. Really too bad.

Maureen Haggblom

We found a great sales person at Alaska Sales and Service that I recommend to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. Very helpful, very patient, answers all questions. His name is Jason - and his nickname is Tuna. The best sales person I have ever had at any dealership - anywhere. He will look at all options - used and new. Honest and straight-forward, he is a great guy! We bought two used vehicles from him over the weekend of 3/23. Thank you so much Tuna - you worked very hard for us and we truly appreciate it! And all of Anchorage - easy name to remember - go see Tuna at Alaska Sales and Service - he will work super hard and find a vehicle for you that meets your needs! Next time we are looking for a vehicle- we will stop in at Alaska Sales and Service first. And the guy that will find you the best finance deal around is Tim V. Thank you for all your help, staying late and making the numbers work!

Tiffany Rogers

Wonderful service! Anne and Mr. T got us in the perfect vehicle!

Aaron Merideth

If I could give no stars, I would.

Michelle Petrisko

Outstanding customer service!!

Arthur Salzman

I was just coming in for my routine oil change & alignment check. However, I got a call from my Service Advisor (Mr. Mike Marchant) saying that I had a possible leak in my transmission lines. Although it wasn't on the docket to be done, your folks were able to get the minor problem fixed so that it didn't grow into a much larger and potentially dangerous situation. Everyone keeps asking me why I keep coming back and my respose is "The service I get from my Advisor and the good work that keeps me and my car running on the roads." I can't say it enough, thanks Mr.Mike for keeping safe!! I do appreciate it!

timothy chavis

$980 for one rim! $170 to do a diagnostic that resulted in saying we need a new rim. My wife hoped our extended warranty would cover something but it didn't. We're taking our buick anywhere else but here, starting with a whole new set of rims for about the same price.

Brenden Anders

Alan Latuska always takes good care of us! He helped me decide what truck to buy, which I bought from you guys and he always gives me solid advice on maintaining our commercial vehicles! Give that man a raise!

Tellin Secrets

my rep was real nice and responsive, when she was not available she made sure someone else was there to assist me and contact me with all updates through the process.

Dave & Mary Wilts

Worked with Tim Kelley in sales - he helped to make this a non-stressful and great experience. He found us exactly what we were looking for...even in the middle of a snowstorm :) He works hard to help the customer. His dedication and expertise are clearly evident; he even spent an hour+ to go over every detail of our new vehicle. We drove away happy and confident in our new truck. He deserves a major thumbs up, and we would recommend him to all. A shout out to Tim V and Michael in the finance department too. Dave Wilts

Kevin Stensgaard

Appointment at noon for an oil change and inspection. Waited till 530 to pick my car up. They offer shuttle service tho.

A Fox

This isn't the first time I was mistreated by Alaska Sales & Service. When trying to gain a better understanding of my vehicles needs I was hung up on by the Service Agent. The customer service is very disappointing. The only reason I am considering staying in my GMC is my salesman at Alaska Sales & Service is awesome. Otherwise I have been considering upgrading to a full-size SUV with another manufacturer.

Gary Haas

We replaced a 2002 Trailblazer and 160k miles with a 2014 Equinox. This means it has been a while since car shopping. I was very reluctant, but met with Anne Kuhl at Alaska Sales and Service. I had done quite a bit of research on the internet and pretty well knew what we were looking for. Anne has a fantastic personality, was extremely easy to work with. The new car was for my wife and she and my wife hit it off immediately. My wife was very pleased with the new car purchase. We have already recommended Anne to friends who are car shopping. Parts is very helpful.

Excellent service , knowledgeable and friendly employees. Thank you.

Great place to buy a car, purchased 6 cars over the years from them and always had a pleasant experience

Yukon 2008

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, when I say TERRIBLE, I MEAN IT!! This people are a joke. not an honest company, I'm so disappointed with the service I have received this past month. I had to replace a mirror and side trim (cosmetic issues) it's not only taken them for ever to get this done. They have had my car for weeks at a time, with no call back or update on the matter, I've had to call to ask if parts had finally arrive in three different occasions for the same issue not to mention I've had to call to ask when I could have my car back. It has been so incovinient, not only because I don't have a car but I have small children the attend school, this people are incosiderate and rude to their customers.. Not to mention the hidden fees that they don't mention to you until they have diagnosed your car and give you a surprise bill of 300$ just for a diagnose fee to which they refused to waive even though I was having my car fix there anyways and all ready spending 1500$ for cosmetic issues. They are rude and they do not make their customers a priority. I recommend Chevrolet south instead of these people. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE YOU WILL FOR EVER REGRET IT. CROOKS!

Jessica Wimberly

My husband and I brought our Yukon here several times over the last 3 years. Almost every time we got our tires changes over they lost the key to get my tires off and of course charged for a new one. Dropped off my car for a tire change (with an appointment) and didn’t get it back until the next day because they said they were busy.... give someone else your business

Becky Schwanke

Haven't had our 2006 GMC into the dealer for a while for repairs. We live out of town so we made an appointment for Monday morning. They assessed our laundry list of repairs and called with professional recommendations. We did most, passed on one. They had our truck running amazing by the end of the day! Extremely professional service, the shop was immaculate and our truck runs better than it has in years. Thank you AK Sales and Service. When we're ready for a new truck, we'll be seeing you first.

Anthony Pleasant

I purchased a vehicle from here and got a decent deal. Service is terrible once you go in for maintenance though. I would not advise purchasing non GM vehicles from here. You'll have to take it to a different dealer for everything. They only do tire rotations and oil changes. IE if you buy a dodge you'll need to take it to dodge for flushes ect.. might as well buy new from that dealer. Less hassle.

Anders Priebe

Sales guys are super friendly and helpful would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone lookjng for a good deal on a car or truck

Jeff Hemstreet

Got ripped off. We bought a Silverado from the TUNA.....We paid 34,000 when the price should of been 30,000 at the max.....our fault but I will never do business with these thieves EVER again....For that price we should of gotten touch screen, power seats, the workS.....Next time I will go to Chevrolet of South Anchorage.....SCREW ALASKA SALES AND SERVICE....you have been warned!

Joshua Fox

Best place in Anchorage for your Chevy

Mrs. Lemley

Best place, fair prices, worth every investment

Criminal is the best word to describe this place and the people that work here. After having my truck for 6 weeks they didn't fix the simple issue it was brought in for. Aside from them not fixing my truck it was robbed while in their possession. They didn't seem to care that a gun was stolen and have not been helpful in any regards to helping the police find it.

John Peterson

We were told living on a island in Alaska their would be no problems with taking it to a shop here to getting warranty done wouldn't be a problem. Now that it is time to have recalls done to vehicle Alaska Sales is saying we have to bring it to dealer, even though we have the extended warranty. Not happy at all with warranty department at Alaska Sales and Service.

Chester Ince

Cody did an excellent, No pressure, No BS sales tactic with us. If he was not sure he said so, and looked it up. GMC has been a great product and thier advances in the user interface shows in the 2018 models.

Tiffany Vassar

Mike has always taken really good care of me and my vehicle. He's responsive, honest, and quick.

Francisco Salado

Prompt service. Even on saturday.

Laura Sawyer

I took my car in for a recall. I was never told who my adviser was. Not even her name. I was never called not even once on my vehicle update or information. I had to call them. I did not find out anything about my vehicle including what the recall was until my husband and father-in-law when in to pick it up. Not a very good way to do business. However, I was set for an appointment at a reasonable time and date and they fixed the recall. I was still dissatisfied with the lack of care the adviser had on communication. They should really consider bringing back the value and way they were when it was family run with all the older crew.

Alisha Elwell

If I could give Them 0 stars I would. My experience started over a year ago when I took my car in for wobbling and vibrations along with a clicking in my front tire. I own a 2017 GMC Acadia. Upon initial diagnostics of the car they discovered that my car needed a new CV axle. They ordered the part and told me that I needed to balance my tires as well. But since that wasn’t covered under warranty I told them I would take it elsewhere to have that done. When I checked my car in to have the CV axle replaced they ended up not replacing it and told me that there was a bulletin that came up on the vehicle that told them to machine my rotor and clean something out and that stopped the clicking noise. They performed this work without my knowledge and I wasn’t told about it until I picked up my car and saw that they did not replace the CV axle. When I took my car there was a vibration that continued sometimes subtle and barely noticeable and other times it was extremely Overbearing causing my steering wheel and seat to vibrate. I took the car to the tire shop where they balanced the tires. I then took the car back to Alaska sales and service as I continued to experience vibrations that we’re not normal in a vehicle as new as mine. The car continued to vibrate and sometimes with violently shake on the highway. After the service techs driving the car a few miles they could not duplicate the issue though frustrated I picked up my car for the third time. After driving a vehicle for a while having the same symptoms I would wait for them to get worse and take the car in again. I took the vehicle in for the fourth time just before my warranty was about to expire. They drove the car only a few times in the 12 days it’s out there on their lot. I told them I drove the car for work and they did not offer a rental vehicle. I also told them that I did not feel comfortable picking up the car until there was some kind of resolution. Jim Greason the service manager got involved and I told him I was going to take my vehicle to the Chevy dealership to see what they could find. He told me to cancel my appointment because he was going to “take care of it”. He did not in fact take care of it all he did was drive the car again and claim to not be able to feel the vibrations. When I got my car back we took it to an independent mechanic who told us that there were parts of the front end that appeared to have been taken apart but none of it was on my service records so we were confused. When we addressed this with Alaska sales and service they could not give me an answer. By this time I was now out of warranty and could no longer take it to Chevrolet of South Anchorage without paying out of pocket. Alaska sales and service screwed me on fixing my car. Furthermore GM told them they could not do anything other than drive it. When I asked them to check things like the axle and the bearings they refused saying unless they could feel it while they drove they wouldn’t do anything further. Now I am stuck and my only choice is to pay out-of-pocket to have my car fixed. I contacted GM’s customer service line where supposedly they are supposed to be advocates for the customer. However they said that the dealership is their eyes and ears so essentially everything they say is gold. I did not have anyone to advocate or help me find resolution. I could understand if this was an issue that happened for the first time. But by the time everything was said and done my car had been in the shop five times with less than 36,000 miles on it. I can’t even begin to tell you how upset and defeated I feel. Alaska sales and service has offered me zero options for further resolution. GM will not extend my warranty to cover it going to another dealership. They will not buy the car back. They will not even guarantee that if I can find the issue that they will fix it. They offered me a $100 service voucher that’s only good for future repairs not for diagnostics. I feel like I’ve been slapped in the face save yourself the pain and agony and buy a different car.

Monica Brown

Ask for John Isaacson! He sold my Husband and I both of our vehicles and is incredibly nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this dealership. They didn't pressure us into buying anything and when I told them our budget, they showed us vehicles within that price point.

Stephen Helms

Recently bought a new vehicle from Ak Sales, i found them to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable about details with regard to options for my vehicle. Kevin Pfeiffer and Buff Westin went out of their way to make my purchase very stressless, and i got everything i wanted as far as the vehicle was concerned, i highly recommend this dealership.

William Clover

What a bunch of rude people. Rude and liars I would avoid going to this place at all cost.

32pearlywhites .

Hands down the best service I have ever received in Anchorage while looking for a car. I haven't stopped referring people to Alaska Sales and Service since our purchace. T was our salesman, he is relatable and honest. I recommend anyone looking for a vehicle to stop in here- you will get the best deal.

Rocky Waterbury

Mark Vitaly and Kevin were amazing as always

Trish Dorman

Jake White (Warranty Administrator) really was a BIG help to assist me with having my vehicle serviced under the warranty program. He was receptive to my concern regarding scheduling an appointment for an oil change and then having to wait a couple of additional hours due to "first-come-first-serve" customers showing up for tire changes that day. Jake was quick to provided a solution and was able to have a technician get me right in - they were done within 30 minutes. I had forgotten to mention that the tire levels also needed to be checked (via a message I had received from On-Star) but when I checked later on, I was pleasantly surprised that they had done it. I would recommend, with confidence, AK Sales & Service to anyone if they are looking to purchase a vehicle in the future.

Steve Jones

Lousy dealer, waste of time. Brought my 2012 f250 lariat in to trade for 2011 Denali. My truck had 10k fewer miles and platinum warranty. Lead salesman took 2 hours and offered me $10k on trade for his $33k older higher miles truck. He gave no reason for the insulting offer and then refused to give us the $25 gift card. I’ll go to Boise before I give them one dime.

Roger McAlear

I love this dealership! Lots of parking, Tons cars to choose from, easy going non-pushy, friendly staff, and they got me approved on my first brand new truck, AND got me out from under 2 vehicles I was buried in. I got a gorgeous new truck, and lowered my monthly bills $300+ bucks, and no longer have to wonder if my check engine light on the Ford will come on. Best experience ever!

Damien Hunting

Jose is the only salesman to work with!

Rafael Alfaro

Purchased vehicles from them in the past and learned why people call them Aladka Sales and NO Service.

JB Belford

Busy professional trying to buy a 60k truck... I send a polite inquiry making a offer that is aggressive but doable on the last day of the month. After waiting 2 hours for Anne Kuhl to get her managers approval she sends me an email response that says "thanks you for your offer, but we cannot meet your offer. Wishing you all the best" Anne Kuhl Alaska Sales and Service. Really? What can you do? Is this Sales and Service or burger King? I'm in Sales, and this is an embarrassment. What about a counter offer or an invitation to come in? Is the dealership mentality all the money or nothing? Discouraging to say the least! I could understand if I had horrible credit, or asking for something unreasonable. I've since asked for her managers info. Why is it hard to make a quick, no hassle deal the last day of the month. I even promised a perfect survey. I need a sales professional.

Sean Doughe

Went there a week ago to ask the service department for a quote on a couple repairs. The lady tells me she doesn't know "much about GM." She worked for Ford for 15 years. I left my number because it was obviously out of her realm. Never got a call back. Avoid if possible.

Maddi Tenney

Great service and fair pricing! Michelle was GREAT and very friendly. Love my new car and so glad I bought from a reputable dealer.

Chris Tadda

Vette!!

Loren Hovis

If u didn't drive away with a different car you are still under pressure of I don't know what I want!!!

Gordon Rosser

They got me in with no prior appointments today to fix a electronic key issue. Mostly fixed, ay $313 for 2 key fobs, but I discovered today I need to return to have them fix it again. Driver's side door remains unlocked after locking with fob.

Michael Snodgrass

Very courteous and knowlegable team

Angel M

I was extremely upset and disappointed with the service offered. I came in for 2 services and I was required to make payment up front for 1 job as it was reported being their policy because of the age of the vehicle and the other was a recall. I kept reporting only the services I wanted done. After making payment and several days later I was told that they did not do what was asked but the services I did not want done they did. Then to add insult to the issue a vebal assumption was made that I didn't or wouldn't want my vehicle any more. I had to contact a tow company right away to get my vehicle away from this service and had to pay more money out to have it released. Never again.

Manuel Colon

I've been a customer of theirs since 1989. They accepted delivery a Chevy Blazer that I purchased through the military sales overseas. No one else would. I've been with them ever since and have received outstanding service.

James Moriarty

Tim Kelly, my dealer, provided excellent service, way above and beyond the call of duty! Very professional, great correspondence, just an all around pleasant experience buying my new 2019 Chevy premium Equinnox. Thank you, James E. Moriarty

Robert Tofaeono

I had my wife drop off my truck to get the lights fixed and that was the only thing that needed to get done, being that she dont know anything about trucks your sales people in the service department told her that the truck needed a oil change and tires rotated which was all a lie and she signed for it, talk about taking advantage of your customers,I just recently changed my oil and my tires are still new. I have bought several new trucks from Alaska Sales and I will no longer be doing business with AK SALES...just so disappointed and angry cause they took advantage of my wife and that is wrong, I hope that his little commission was worth it

BLYAK

They can't give a trade in value unless you have already picked put a vehicle. Staff is very rude and condescending. They acted like they didnt want us as customers. Rude arrogant sales staff.

Kovaleski Wes

Great service !!!

Keith Taylor

Not a bad dealership.

Jenni Nelson

Poor customer sales service they are more for the money then taking great care of the customer, Felt very pressured into a deal with high interest rates and high pricing wouldn’t even give me a full tank of gas for a purchase that would have cost about a total of $42,000 with interest and warranty on a used truck! Had a total of four guys trying to keep me from walking out I kept saying no deal very uncomfortable experience. I Don’t recommend this dealership!

Deanna Price

Are you trying to buy a car? Well you are probably not getting that best deal there is at Alaska Sales and Service. Last week I was referred to AS&S to see a car I was interested in. Haggle for a little while and took it for a test drive. I offered what I thought was a fair price and the typical "song and dance" routine of, "let me take your offer to the back". Comes back with a number and the salesman swears this is the absolute lowest price. Talking about list price, then Internet price, how they have been holding on to the car all winter blah blah blah, this is the price. So I say I will think it over. Next day haggling still not budging. 3rd day I say I just can't do it for that price. So the very next day I look on the Internet and low and behold is the same car I was looking at for $500 less than their absolute lowest price they quoted me. Now I am not angry at the Salesman, he was just doing what he was told by his boss (probably the General Sales manager), that is the guy that I'm pissed with. So, long story I know, but if you want a good deal on a car or truck... I would probably look at another dealership other than AS&S.

Larry Burke

Terrible service, when I asked to speak to a service manager to complain they refused to transfer the call. I one day job turned into a five-day job.

Lucy Jones

Update: I finally received reimbursement for my expenses. Thankful that they kept their word. ------------------------- My car had an appt at A.S.S. on April 17 to have the timing chain replaced as well as some basic maintenance done. I dropped my vehicle off on time and was told my car should be ready by the end of the week. I rented a car for that week. I'm a single mom with 3 children and have to have transportation for appts, etc. I had to call A.S.S. on Friday (April 20) because no one called me and the rental was due back. I was assured my car would be ready Monday (April 23) so I kept the rental over the weekend in anticipation that my car would be finished on Monday. I returned the rental and I had the rental place give me a ride to A.S.S. When I got to A.S.S., I was not happy to find out that my car hadn't been touched the entire time it had been there... which was 7 days at this point. I tried to be understanding. They offered me a shuttle home because I didn't have any more money for a rental. On Thursday (April 26), A.S.S. called me and told me they'd have to order some additional parts to complete the repair. I was willing to pay the extra to have the part sent overnight. I understood that the part wouldn't arrive until Monday (April 30). On Wednesday (May 2), I called to check on my car again since I had no updates from A.S.S. The woman I spoke with informed me that the person working on my vehicle had gone home early (it was barely after 12 pm when I called). At this point, my car had been there for 15 days. I had rent to pay, we were running out of food because I couldn't go grocery shopping, I had to reschedule 2 doctor appts, and my son had a surgical procedure scheduled for Friday (May 4) that I had no way to get him to. I called a mgr at A.S.S. and left him a message stating this. A.S.S. called me back assuring me that my car would be finished on Friday (May 4) no matter what. They also offered to pay for a rental starting on Thursday so I could take my son to his appt on Friday and get my rent paid. Day 18: I was at the doctor with my son when A.S.S. called to tell me my car was finished. After we were done there, I drove my son directly home so he could rest and went to drop off the rental. The rental place told me I'd had the vehicle longer than A.S.S. authorized. They gave me a ride to A.S.S. and I asked a female service adviser about this. She rolled her eyes and told me don't worry about it and that it'll be taken care of. My service adviser was annoyed with me as well. I brought it up to him and he also told me not to worry about it and that it'd be taken care of. Unaccompanied, I paid the $4090 repair bill and went out to find my car. Normally, the service advisers walk you to the cashier but not this time. When I went to get my car from the parking lot, it was filthy. It was absolutely covered in bird poop and dirt. I have never been to a car dealer where they give you car back dirtier than it was when you dropped it off. As of today, May 14, the charges for the rental are still posted on my bank account. I called A.S.S. on Friday (May 11) and left a message with "my" service adviser about these charges that I was assured would be taken care of. At this point, A.S.S. has not called me back and I'm left paying out of pocket for something they offered to pay for since my car had been there so long. I was never rude to any employee at A.S.S. I tried to be understanding and polite and I ended up without a car for nearly 3 weeks. I imagine it would've been longer if I hadn't called a manager. My car was returned to me absolutely filthy, I'm stuck paying for a rental that was their idea in the first place and that they offered to pay for, I was charged twice for the oil and coolant ($61.54). If I could give them zero stars I would.

I would warn anyone looking for a vehicle to seek another alternative than Alaska Sales. My experience was a nightmare. I purchased a used GMC Yukon, I test drove it and it seemed fine on the short test drive, plus I looked it over pretty good checking for signs of abuse and it seemed ok. I asked the salesperson if everything worked and she yes absolutely, we do a 150 point inspection so it is a solid vehicle (not entirely true by the way). Initially I did not see any problems with the vehicle except the Key Fob needing a battery, which they did NOT replace, so I had to pay for it. I wound up having a ton of issues with the vehicle, some very major, and not one person at the dealer seemed to care at all. I asked to speak with any manager, from service to the general manager and I heard crickets. They do not stand behind the vehicles they sell, in addition the customer service and they way they treat people is probably the worst experience I have had from a car dealer. All of the departments, from sales to service really need to learn how to treat people, well the parts folks are not too bad actually. I don't have enough room here to write all of the details of my issues, but as a life long GM owner I can say with certainty that I will may not buy GM again, all because of the horrible customer service and general lack of taking care of customers from this dealer.

Chuck Farmer

Service Center performed a winter tire change-over on my vehicle, and addressed and completed recall-mandated services. The service center advisor/representative, Mike Merchant, took personal responsibility for my vehicle and kept me informed of progress and delays. I love and appreciate personal service, and I was not disappointed.

L Boogie

I'll pass. The lady I worked with was beyond pushy, but had the nerve to be nonchalant. For some odd reason, the were behaving like they are the "end all be all". Nope, I'll take my business elsewhere. All they were worried about was getting my money, but I'm not dumb enough. Lol sorry, not sorry. And after reading all the bad reviews, I'm SO GLAD I didn't buy from them.

Allan Robichaux

Great selection of vehicles, good prices

Vitaly, you want a car see him! By far the best service we had in our shopping experience was from him. He was extremely helpful with finding us what we were looking for. He has an awesome personality too! Seriously he's the guy you want to see.

I always have a good experience of customer service and auto repair when I go to Alaska Sales and Service. My loyalty lies with Mike Marchant as my service adviser, you can never go wrong working with him. I already had an appointment setup for the day may car was when it broke down unexpectedly. I called Mike when this happened. He referenced a reliable and reputable towing company. My car was fixed that day with issues that had come up, Mike kept me updated on the process of it being diagnosis and what repairs where needed. It was like my car was only in for an oil change and not all day or longer for repairs. Sweet Deal for me! Thank you to MIke, the mechanic (please let the mechanic know) and Sales.

jsdjordan

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! Corrupt dealership, will take your money, don't trust this place

Great car buying experience—see Steve D—no hassle, great service and quick process as car buying goes—thank you!

Beautiful brand new cars. Have you seen the prices lately?

Sarah Hopson

Went to AK Sales & Service TWICE for 1 issue - My car revs in idle/neutral. These guys fixed my bad breaks (which are bad again), fixed my heater. Two trips was nearly $1,000 EACH TIME. When finally finished, I asked about the intake gasket or whatever the heck the revving comes from, NOPE DID NOT FIX IT, They said maybe it was the air conditioner causing it to rev trying to warm up the car. I was offered a complimentary check up on the revving if it did not stop. THANKS - $2,000 dollars and 4 weeks later - no thank you. Take your money elsewhere people!

Robert Walker

I just purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra 3500 flat bed 4x4. the service I received was excellent, the salesman was knowledgeable and went the extra mile to make sure I got the best price for the truck. He also took a little extra time to find out if we qualified for any additional discounts. (which we did thanks again for that BUFF!) I enjoyed that I was well informed on the changes and developments during the sale process. I will make sure to tell people about your quality and ability you go to satisfy your costumers. Thank Again David Heppe

Jose Sanchez was extremely helpful and patient during the purchase of my new truck. He was extremely knowledgeable with the various options offered within the different models. He was able to get me into a loaded GMC with an extended warranty while keeping my monthly payment where I wanted it. 1 of the vehicles I traded in had some minor title issues. I work on the North Slope and the title issue had jammed up our original deal. Jose kept in contact during my hitch and upon my return, he ensured all the necessary paperwork was dialed in to close the deal. He definitely had to go above and beyond what is usually expected to make it happen.

Kelly Drake

I pulled our new 2018 GMC truck in for its first oil change and the service manager was excellent. The waiting area was nice with coffee available and TV to watch. They finished in a very reasonable amount of time. The service manager brought me the keys and insured me all inspected items passed and asked if there were any questions or problems about the vehicle. This is our fourth truck in 17 years with Alaska Sales and Service and we have always been satisfied with their sales and service staff.

Chore No More, LLC

I've brought my BRAND NEW truck in twice and not received any fixes that I need. The first time I had an appointment for two issues. One, I said there was an issue with the driver's window, it keeps giving me an error that says "roll down window and roll back up". The second issue was the acceleration seemed to "flutter" at about 40 miles an hour. The tech adjusted my window pressure sensor, and then tried to charge me for it - the weathertech guard was causing the issue (you guys installed it). The other issue, the fluttering, was said to be fixed by an update to the computer system that just came out. I left the lot and immediately had the same fluttering, and a few days later, the window alarms. I am very busy and wasn't able to successfully bring the truck in for sometime, and this visit was the second visit. I reported both of the same things, along with an odd clicking sound that had started from under the hood. I had also hit a large piece of snow in the road, and bent my air damper in the front and asked that to be appraised for repair or replacement. The guy who processed my truck for inspection, down-played the clicking noise saying that that was normal, down-played the acceleration fluttering, saying that was normal for newer trucks, and also down-played the window problem, saying it was the weather tech, and nothing can fix it! So all in all, my truck got in for an oil change AND THAT'S IT! After telling him all of this and him diagnosing and "fixing" the issues, he joked to me, "well we've taken care of all your issue so far, you could almost drive away now". I never received an estimate for the damper damage either. I do not understand how a brand new truck can have these issues, and the service technicians say that the condiditions are normal. I will be taking much truck elsewhere for maintenance going forward, and to diagnose the current issues your tech refused to submit on the work order for inspection. What was a fairly pleasant buying experience, and would've garnished my word-of-mouth referrals, has turned into a word-of-mouth cautionary warning to anyone who asks me about your dealership due to the poor service dept follow-up. The fluttering, just to add more detail, only happens when I am cruising at about 40 miles an hour, which is fairly common for city driving. When I accelerate at that speed, not a hard accelerate, but just pushing up to 41 or 42mph to adjust to traffic conditions, it flutters. It seems like the fuel injector is not spraying properly, or the engine is losing power somewhere. The feeling you get of going over small bumps and you bounce up and down is the same feeling I get, but instead of up and down, it is front and back. The service tech told me to start "punching it" instead of depressing the gas pedal slowly.

Joni Lewis

My vehicle was serviced fast without any major problems. Great customer service! Than you Mike.

Jena Enderson

I had such a pleasant experience with Travis! I recently traded my car for a 2017 challenger. Thanks to Travis, the transaction was quick and easy. The finance aspect was also quick and easy with Scott. Loved that it was more of a homey experience vrs the typical dealership haggeling back and forth. Travis and Scott were excellent to work with and I would highly recommend them! Scott just needs to take pictures of his monster catches to back up his crazy fishing stories!

Lorrajne Williams

3 1/2 hours later, oil change still not done, with appointment.

John C

I typically think dealership service department are terrible, but AKS&S service department is the best auto service I have found. They exceed my expectations, do the job right and the people are just darn nice. Highly recommended. My last visit was April 15, 2015.

Anastacia Cross

SES light came on. They were easy to schedule with. In and out in one day. They Always have great customer service.

Anna Smelser

Our vehicle was sent here from Fix Auto for some repairs, our vehicle was a stolen/recovery. We took it to them for a sticky gear shift, We got the pleasure of dealing with MIKE, who told Fix Auto that the sticky gear shift wasn't due to it being stolen and ran into a snow bank it was due to the fax of not being taken care of and the age of the vehicle which is a 2005. So MIKE "fixed" the sticky gear shift and gave it back which insurance paid him for, but we had to take it back two days later because the sticky gear shift wasn't fixed. So MIKE worked on it again and came to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong with it, and then made Fix Auto pay for him to look at it again even though he got paid not to fix it in the first place. Even though it still sticks. Would not recommend working with MIKE.

Darrel Sprau

The team at Alaska Sales and Service are pretty good at what they do. Although they are not perfect they are always willing to do what is right by the customer. Most of thge time they will go out of their way to make your visit pleasant and enjoyable. Staff is very freindly and easy to deal with. Moved over here after experiencing multiple issues with the Other Guy in town and have been very satisfied with both the Sales team and especially the Service department. Highly recommend you give them atry if your having issues on the South side of Anchorage taking care of your heart beat of America vehicle.
