My mom bought a car with the help of Jackie a few weeks prior and she said I had to go see her because she would find exactly what I wanted, and she DID! I didn’t even plan to buy a car that day, but Jackie knew my price range and the things I wanted and needed in a suv, so she made it happen! She took great care of me and checked on everything, even the days following my purchase. GO SEE JACKIE! She will find the right vehicle for you!

Car buying is a purchasing experience most people would rather avoid. Its high stress and understanding the price breakdown is never clear cut. In today’s world we have multiple tools available to us buyers that can help give us insight into a price analysis of the car market for that specific vehicle. However at the end of the day it comes down to the dealership and the car. In this case the dealership was University Honda of Florence soon to be (Greenway Honda of Florence). I would give my overall experience a 2.5 out of 5. Multiple factors play into this review from the time spent in the dealership, the presentation of the vehicle, the finial paperwork and the negotiation experience. The total time in the dealership from start to finish was about 5 hrs. give or take. I felt that this was a reasonable amount of time although during this time I was bounced between 4 different desks. It is my hope that in the future they will be able to resolve that issue with more sales desk. The presentation of the vehicle I purchased was good. However, it was not clearly stated or shown online that it had a noticeable scratch to the back bumper. This was only discovered after driving 1hr 45min to look at the vehicle. The scratch itself was not a major deal breaker however it brought doubt into the integrity of the dealership and made me question if I was dealing with a reputable company. This was an oversight by my sales associate who I made clear prior to my arrival that I did not like the whole bait and hook that other dealership play online not fully disclosing price or issues with a vehicle. It is my understanding that they are trying to break themselves free from the poor reputation of the University Honda of Florence name however I don’t feel this ship has fully corrected its course. During my time on the car lot I was also shown a used Honda odyssey as a possible new option nevertheless this tactic failed to impress. The Honda Odyssey was clean on the outside but the inside was in horrible condition. Brown stains covered the floorboard and the back trunk showed signs of a battery leaking in the trunk not to mention the vehicle smelled of smoke. My sales associate was in complete and honest shock and quickly moved us away from that vehicle. My goal during negotiations was to get to a fair and reasonable price. Not to completely minimize the dealerships profit but to also take into account factors that were not accounted for prior to me physical looking at the vehicle. After a initial stand still and me taking a lunch break in preparation to drive to my next option we were able to come to an agreed 2 price. The final paperwork process was sufficient. However it was presented to me as we were closing that the vehicle only had one key not a major issue but an inconvenience at best. In addition the original price I was shown during finial signature was not the correct price. After going over with the representative and him arguing with me the finance rep. finally came to the realization that I was right and he was looking at the wrong number. I am not sure if I would recommend this dealership to anyone yet at this time. I would recommend Jamie Blair my Sales consultant. I felt he was as honest as he could be for the environment he was in and went above and beyond to fix and to correct the issues I was facing. It’s clear that University Honda of Florence still has a lot of work to do if they are gona correct the ships course.

In July 2017, I walked in University Honda to check on trade in with my older pilot. I was greeted with William (Will) Jetton. Having past negative experiences with car salesman, I was adament about keeping grounded to my needs, wants, and price, regardless of any good car salesman strategies. First off, Will is not the typical car sales man. He listens. He was friendly and accommodating with my two boys. Will was just as determined to make me happy as I was on sticking to my agenda. I gave him exact details to interior/exterior color, trim, and price. Definitely not an easy task. Will MADE it happen on a NEW 2017 Pilot Touring and a great trade in value with my old Pilot. Will changed my philosophy of the car buying process, it's all about finding the RIGHT person and WILL JETTON is the right person to help you or your friends buy a car. You'll leave the dealership happy in a new vehicle and you'll make a new friend while in the process.

Had a great buying experience. I traded my vehicle in July 28th with the understanding that they were to pay off my trade. Honda finance continued to call and harass me for my next payment. In order to save my credit score I had to send in my August payment. I notified University Honda of the situation. I was assured that the issue was resolved. It's now September and the phone calls are starting to come in again. I left a message with finance yesterday and still no returned call today. Now, the robot you are forced to call is not able to forward calls so I'm still waiting on resolution. Looks like I'll have to continue to make payments on a car that they own until they find someone who is competent. Never had this issue with Toyota. 9/26 (update) Here we are a week later and the issue is not resolved. I can pay a bill in seconds from my phone but this "professional business" can't pay a bill in 60 day. Does not instill much confidence at all. I just hope my car is more reliable than they are. 10/10 (update) After two months of dealing with this issue my trade in has finally been paid off. Unfortunately, the additional payment I was forced to make was not fully returned to me, only half. In the two months that it took for them to do their job, the interest continued to build on the balance, raising the payoff amount. So that now appears to be the "game" they play. They stall for a few months before payoff in order for you to keep making payments and lower the actual amount that they owe. I've notified them once again of the issue and will continue to update until all monies owed to me are paid. Avoid this dealership!!

I live in Memphis TN. I was in Florence for two days visiting my Granddaughter. I had been looking for a used CR-V EX for sale by owner for about a month with no luck. I have not had a car note in years and wanted to pay cash for the car. I also wanted to know the service history. Out of frustration, I went to a dealership in Memphis and found several vehicles but was even more frustrated with the sales tactics and pressure from the sales department to purchase a car that cost more than I was able to pay in full. When I drove into Florence, I saw 2 CR-Vs on the University Honda lot from the road and decided to try one more time. Will Jetton answered the phone. I explained my situation to him and told him how much I could afford to spend. The two cars I saw from the road were over my limit but he said he would keep looking. Within an hour he called me back. He had found a 2012 CR-V EX L within my price range, only one previous owner and had been serviced over the years by University Honda. I kept the car over night and drove it while I was in town. I was very happy with the car AND the way University Honda AND especially, Will Jetton worked with me to help me get what I wanted and for the amount I could afford. Will listened to what I had to say and worked to find me what I wanted. Thank you, Will and University Honda!

The worst decision I have ever made was to buy a car from University Honda of Florence. 1st of all the car buying process was a joke the guy we talked to 1st and road with us on our test drive told us a ton of lies. And was just basically saying anything he could to get us to buy the car. Then the 2nd salesman we talked to was also an idiot and then finally the 3rd salesman actually knew what he was talking about. Looking back should have ran after that situation. I have had the car for a year and my wheels and tires are making a scrubbing noise. I have taken it back to the dealership 2c they say there is nothing wrong with the wheels or tires and just put some lube around them. This did not help and the car is still making this noise. This is a 2017 Honda Accord. Other customers have complained with this issue. We can not get anything done about it. We have contacted Honda customer service as well they are not concerned and tell me nothing can be done. I will never ever buy another Honda and ESPECIALLY NOT FROM UNIVERSITY!!

They definitely know how to get you in a car. I worked with Zackery White and found myself in a 2017 Honda HR-V. Zack was a lot of fun to work with and while waiting for management or finance guys to come around he was good to keep a conversation going. It just felt really natural. I was between a Fit and the HR-V. The HR-V was quite out of budget but Zack and his manager Brent worked out a GREAT deal for me (I think they just wanted to make my fiance happy, which I'm also okay with). They brought the HR-V from out of budget to the exact same price and payments that the Fit would have been. I traded in my 2015 Mustang that I was still paying for, and they paid the loan off IN FULL on top of giving me an excellent deal on the HR-V itself. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because there was a lot of confusion over the car itself. For a while I was thinking it was a 2018 HR-V (which may have been my fault) but I don't think it was ever deliberately made clear that it was the 2017 model (again, could have been my fault). But at some point in the process I was quoted an interest rate by one of their financial or management guys (not Zack or Brent) that was apparently only available on the 2018 model. Turns out there wasn't a single 2018 model on the lot. I could have gotten a shorter loan with payments still well in my budget thanks to that great interest rate, but it turned out to be unavailable, so that was pretty disappointing. All in all though I'm pleased with the transaction. The car grew on my really fast. I've never driven anything like it before. There's so much space. The seating is very comfortable. And my fiance enjoys it a lot more than she did the Mustang's bucket seats. If you're interested in a Honda, go look for Zackery White. He and Brent will do right by you. It also helps to bring a wife or fiance.

We were looking at a used van which was nice but after driving an hour from Madison to the dealership we realized it was not the van we wanted. We had not planned to buy at this time but the transmission went out in our 2006 Honda van with 280,000+ miles. Rachael knew we really needed help and didn't wsnt us to leave empty handed. I came in for a recall on my van. I had to have a shuttle to take me to shop during a long process. Only to get a call with a long list of things that needed to be fixed. They included new breaks. What they didn’t know that I had them recently checked by a mechanic that I trust and was told they were still good. When I said no to all the things they told me to fix, they then suggested a payment plan for every thing. I said no again. I took my car the next day to my local mechanic with the paper they gave me with everything they said needed to be done. NOTHING on the list needed to be done. I hate when people think just because I’m a woman that I’m stupid. The van was bought there, but I promise I will not buy anything from a place who treats their customers this way.

Over the past two years, I have purchased two cars from University Honda and had two cars serviced. Jackie Smith was the sales person who assisted with my first purchase and solely handled my second purchase. Throughout the process, she did an excellent job balancing the sale and trying to meet my expectations on the deal. I was very satisfied with the buying process, the delivery and followup after the sale. The manager and the credit department were both most helpful throughout the process. After the sale, I took one vehicle back with a minor interior problem. Chris Thompson, one of the service advisers and a service technician quickly took care of my problem. On another service visit with a ten year old Pilot, that same pair diagnosed and repaired an annoying brake problem which had existed for about thirty thousand miles. Another shop had failed to make the correction to resolve my problem. I had about five other items serviced on the old Pilot and all were performed to my satisfaction. Service is the key to running your Honda for many trouble free miles. I would give University Honda in Florence, Alabama an excellent rating for both sales and service.

Was very disappointed with my experience at Greenway Honda. Been going to that Honda dealership for many years. Have owned a Honda vehicle for many years bought my first Honda from Jerry Damson, always used the service department at this Florence location. Was very disappointed in the person that checked my car in for service, his name is Brian Bissonnette. I Have a 20018 & a 2008 Odyssey, Brought the 2018 in for a B12 service had 28,000 plus miles. The attendant said car would need a transmission check at 30,000 miles & wanted to know if I wanted to have it done while was there; told him didn’t think so car only said B12 service. He ask me 2 more times if I wanted the 30, 000 transmission done while I was there ask him how much would cost said $400 Finally just told him no would wait until it came up on car. As long as I have been coming to that service Dept have never felt pressured to have something done that was not necessary at that time. Was having a problem with one of our keys not unlocking the car door on the driver side. He said the software update would take care of it. Ask them to check on this problem. When I picked up my car ask about & he said recall would take care of my problem & let them know if it didn’t. Had this done yesterday tonight the key would not open the car door on the driver side just like before. The man that checked me in didn’t put on my paper for the them to even check he just assumed the software update would take care it the problem. I live 45 miles away & will have to make another trip to Florence or I can drive to Franklin & go to another Honda dealer. Every time you change owners the reputation of that Honda dealership goes down I hated to have to give this review to hurt anyone’s reputation & thought long & hard whether I should say anything. Not looking forward to having to go back to that dealership to have my car serviced. This is the first time since 1997 that I have been disappointed in that service Dept

Salesman make grandiose promises that they can't keep. Such as getting you in a car for next to nothing a month with little down payment. If you have either of those Whether you are like me and have always had a deep unending love for minivans... or like my husband the convert who realized "Why yes.... they are more comfortable to drive when on a trip and those sliding doors are WOWZA!" ....or can't convert your husband yet?.... then you need to call Jackie Smith and/or Kenyatta McMillin at University Honda! We bought our first Luxury mini bus from Kenyatta in early 2016... I had never owned a new car and she made the purchase as painless as possible. I know she stayed a little after hours that night and I appreciated her attentiveness and her patience as she showed me all of the buttons and features I would now have in my new Honda Odyssey. ... I've never been so excited about a vehicle in my life! Then... fast forward to the end of summer of 2017....we had talked about upgrading to a new minivan and getting the cabin watch feature....and Jackie Smith was now there, she helped us to find the perfect one and then my husband ultimately decides we need towing capacity and trades in my beautiful Honda Odyssey for a reallllllly nice YUKON ..... My inner cowgirl leapt for joy, but my inner Mom and every other part of me had a REALLLLLY hard time. ..... bring it back around to now.... He's gonna have to make that Yukon a work vehicle. The man sacrificed his Honda Civic when Jackie and Kenyatta found us a used 2015 minivan! The new van has less features... it's not as fancy as the last one I had..... but if you have ever driven a Honda then you know that they are ALLLLLLL amazing! I can't be more thrilled to be back in an Odyssey. My husband works long hours and with 4 kids.... Old beat up trucks are for hauling critters.... but Honda's are for hauling families! University Honda has the most prompt front staff, helpful sales persons, and excellent service department I've ever interacted with! I'm secretly a little excited just to go back for maintenance..... :) Kenyatta and Jackie are both incredibly helpful, genuine, kind, humorous , and respectful people, in addition to being wonderful sales women. Ask for them by name! They come highly recommended by the Thompsons!

Bought a 2018! Honda Odyssey at this dealership in March and traded my 2013 Nissan Quest in which they were suppose to pay off. 2 months later I realize the dealership never paid my old van off and the payment for the van that I traded to them was still coming out of my account! Over $900 in payments and interest we have paid because they never paid mine off as promised and as in our contract. They have finally gotten it paid off after trying to blame the situation on me and everyone else. The extra money I paid on it while they actually owned it bc I had traded it my family is just out! I’ve tried speaking with my salesman Will but he’s always busy, the sales manager Shane or Bucket as they call him in the most rude and unprofessional person I’ve ever spoken too! I told him this was their mistake and had put us in a bind this month and I had 4 kids and we really needed to get this worked out so we could get our money back. He was rude, blamed the situation on me saying it’s just a risk you take when trading in a vehicle, laughed so loud in my face over the phone, made fun of me and hung up on me!! I’ve never as a woman been treated that why by a man much less someone who is a sales manager and supposed to be professional. My husband is employed by UPS and I can assure you he would never be allowed to speak to a customer this way!! We bought a $40,000 vehicle there and this is the treatment we get! I asked to speak to the GM and Shane told me he was the manager and he made the decisions. I did not want to speak to him I wanted the GM someone who would speak to me with some kind of decency!! This dealership is terrible in the way they handle business, treat customers and speak to women. I will never buy here again nor will I service my van here or recommend this dealership to anyone!!l a professional sales manager does not talk rudely to a customers or woman and laugh at them and hang up on them! We paid $900 worth of payments with interest on a vehicle we traded to them bc they failed to pay it off on time and they wanna blame it on me and talk rudely to me! This is their fault and they are taking the blame inno way only acting like I’m trying to get something out of them. Crooked and rude! To the GM Bill, you seriously need to look at your employees and how they are treating customers. I hung up the phone in tears Shane was so rude! Greenway is not what Jerry Damson was. When I called to make my appointment I asked for an oil change and for them to check a rattle that my van had. When I got there and checked in, they only had me down for the rattle. The service department reps are not the same. The guy who always waited on me before is now in the shop. He was always so professional and helpful. The new guy came over after we had been there about 30 mins and said to check the rattle would cost me $100+ just to run a diagnostic. I declined and said I’d take it somewhere else. When I went to pay for my $65 oil change (price increase)

Best dealership I’ve ever dealt with. Not pushy at all and incredibly honest. I drove 4 hours to them after they made me a good offer on my trade in over the phone a few days prior. When I got there and they evaluated my trade they actual gave me more than they originally offered for my trade! Zac was a pleasure to work with and it was certainly well worth the drive.
