Was really expecting more. The cheese selection, consisted of only 3 or 4. There were quite a few different types of brats, but thankfully ingredients were listed. All contained gluten.

During a recent trip to the cute town of New Glarus, we stopped in and picked up some frozen brats to take home expecting a small town deli to produce some top quality sausage. Unfortunately, both version of the brats we purchased are by far some of the lowest quality brats I have ever had. The sausage appears to be made up with low quality fillers and an excessive amount of fatty meats. Skip this and go straight to the New Glarus Brewery.

I just love this place... the cozy and welcoming entrance, the personal service, and of course the awesome aromas! I always make it point to stop here on my annual ride to new glarus. The landjaeger sausage is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve shared with several friends who’ve told me they haven’t had landjeager that good since they were in Switzerland!

The best brats I've ever had. Not fatty at all. Cooked up very nicely on the big green egg. Since they're not super fatty, they are less moist than your normal brats. They're also bigger in overall size. I bought a few other items as well. So far so good. Get there early for fresh. Good service too. What a hidden gem.

WE were in the lovely town if New Glarus this past fall and had a Schublig. I ordered a few to take home and froze them with my food saver. Just had the last one today.....yummy! I do plan on ordering some

Stopped there a few years ago. You should consider staying open a bit later on Cheese Days week end. Many of the Monroe stores stayed open extra on those special weekends when people return to Green County.

Some of the best sausage I've had. The "Portable Wisconsin" is a major hit with anyone I serve it to. Blue Cheese & Mushroom and Taco brats are equally worthy of a try. The name doesn't necessarily imply it, but Ruef's is primarily sausages and local cheese. There are no other meats (beef, chicken, etc).

The owners were extremely nice. He took the time to explain the differences between the sausages, whether they were coarse or fine ground.
