I give it 2 stars only because workers there were pleasant - first time at this place for purchasing. The prime rib cut of meat was sub par for what I paid. It was a primerib cut with gum texture and flavor just wasn't there. Fat wasn't good either. Half of this serving was cut away on my plate. I will search elsewhere for prime cuts of meat

We had Rivers Edge cater our wedding. The pricing beat everyone! Super reasonable! Food was really good and heard nothing but compliments from our guests. Danny and her staff was awesome to work with. You can pick up your leftovers the next day as well! Highly Recommend for your catering needs.

On 9/22 I dropped off my deer for processing and indicated that I wanted all cuts and the remaining trim grounded into burger with no additional meat added. At the time of the drop off I was told that it would be ready in approximately one week before it was ready to pick up. Three weeks latter, when I had yet to hear anything from them I proceeded to call and check on my order. I was called back a while latter and informed that it was ready for picked up and the the all cuts would be available. When I arrived they presented me with a complete box of ground venison with no steaks, roasts, tenderloins or chops. I informed them of this and was told that this is what i ordered. Mind you they had crossed out my initially selection for cuts and filled out the section that would match what they provided. Now while they did not make me pay any additional money, aside from the $20 deposit, this hardly makes up for the sheer negligence and the fact that they tried to passed off my order as something that i hadn't selected and essential destroyed my deer. Needless to say this explains why it took roughly 3 weeks to hear anything back from them. In conclusion, I would not recommend River's Edge for venison process especially given the time, energy, and passion that hunters put in to this sport.

All the menus had dirty finger prints on them...they're laminated, is it that tough to wipe them off? Had an egg sandwich and it wasn't that good and then I found a few strands of the cook's hair sticking to the bacon and was repulsed...yuck!

I bought a 1/4 beef from the Jefferson County fair this year and had it processed at River's Edge. I made my order simple: T-bones, porterhouse, ribeyes, chuck roast, and the rest in hamburger. At pickup, I got 60lb in hamburger and 45lb of steaks and roast. 105lb from a 1200lb steer? I left a message and went in the next day. The manager told me she knew what my question was and that there had been mistake ...that she wasn't there the day it was processed. They had given me only a 1/4 of the all the hamburger made from the whole cow though my portion of hamburger should have been more since I wanted very little otherwise. At that point, she had more burger to give me if I was ok with a mix of 1lb and 1.5lb packages. Sure-I thought that would be fine. She brought out a box with burger thrown in it. I got outside and organized the box that had all of 1.5lb packs...it was roughly 40lb worth. So then I had 145lb total out of what I was expecting to be more like 180lb. On top of that, my hamburger isn't the quality that it should be as all the other parts of my 1/4 were not ground into my portion of hamburger. The lady offered me $50 back or an additional 16lb of their burger. I took the burger. At 161lb, I'm feeling a little better, but the quality of my meat still isn't where it should be. Three other people that got 1/4's with me were shorted and after the error with mine, Rivers Edge did not automatically attempt to correct the other orders though I had spoken to them and they were aware before the other people picked up . One person recieved 105lb at first like me and checked after I mentioned they might want to look into it. Additionally, said person had products marked for resale with River's Edge price stickers in their order! The other two received135b. on their first pick up. We all got $40 back in cash at the end. The brother of the steer we bought(raised in exact same environment and manner) that weighed 10 lbs less was processed elsewhere and a half was picked up at 430lb. Doing the math puts that at ~ 215 lbs/quarter. Please weigh your meat and have an idea of approximately how much you should be recieving! The packaging varied among the orders and even same cuts had different packaging. I have finished this experience feeling cheated and frustrated that we had to work so hard to make it right, and even then, we all wonder what meat we really ended up with. ETA: Yes. There was much conversation about the situation. This review comes after a business not doing everything in their power to make an obviously very wrong situation more than right. To have to fight tooth and nail for a remedy that still puts us very short of the processed meat of a near perfect comparison is disappointing. An error should be corrected in such a way that it leaves no doubt that it was a huge accident, that the person/group/business responsible is very sorry, and that it is not the manner in which business is usually conducted or ever will be again. The opportunities to appropriately amend this were numerous and River's Edge fell short, hence this dissatisfied review .

This place rocks! Support an awesome local butcher. Porterhouse, sirloin, NY strip, and the list goes on. Their steaks are far superior to any grocery meat dept. Do your self a favor and shop Rivers Edge, you might pay an extra dollar or two but it'll be well worth the extra cash.

Wonderful meat market. I have stopped buying beef, pork or chicken from grocery stores. The cuts of meat are great. Once you start to use their meats you wonder why anyone would buy from other places. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. Buy the way great place to get local milk also.

I booked Brad and his crew to cater my wedding reception for 100 from 2,000 miles away and they beyond delivered. I went with Rivers Edge because he said he used only fresh or frozen, would work with me to get exactly what I wanted on the menu, was willing to deliver within a reasonable distance for free and didn't charge me an arm and a leg per person. I was so impressed with the service and the food both. The finger food plates were delivered just as he promised while we were at the wedding and the dinner was delivered with so much food. It was all delicious and everyone had seconds. I ordered four cakes from the bakery for the reception too and they were not only beautiful (the baker called me with ideas to plus up the look of the cakes that I never would have thought of), once we cut into them they were scrumptious! My carrot cake went entirely and most of the other cakes only had small pieces remaining. I'm incredibly impressed with these guys end to end and I would recommend them to anyone for catering and bakery for any event. Thanks for helping to make the reception such a hit!!

I've never been in a store quite like this - a huge selection of meats, cheese and brats plus all the grocery necessities AND a restaurant. If you stop in between 11-2, you can grab a huge burger with a choice of sides for under $6. Amazing fish fry on Fridays where you get 3 big pieces of hand-battered fish, choice of side, coleslaw and bread! Hands down my favorite lunch place. Truly a gem of a store that has a cute cafe/restaurant, bakery and I've heard they do an amazing with catering. I tell everyone to go here.

I’m a huge fan of Rivers Edge! We love the milk we get there, and I like that it’s in glass bottles. The eggnog is AH-MAZ-ING. Love the beef sticks and fresh cheese curds on Tuesdays. I tend to buy a lot of meat there and the quality is way better than Walmart. We buy Prime Rib twice a year, and it’s expensive but considering the quality it’s worth it.
