I can't believe I haven't been here before. The steak is amazing! Don't be afraid to talk to the owner, very passionate about what he does. You can also order cuts of meat here and I fully plan on doing so

Amazing steak and service!! Happy hour was awesome as well.

I cant quite make it of this place. I like the local, organic, no hormones, but the flavors dont play right what so ever. I wish I would have read the reviews before going on a Saturday evening with my family. I've spent good money (less than the $210 I spent tonight on five people) and had better quality service and taste. The appetizers we ordered were good. We ordered shrimp and wings. Wing sauce was amazing. Great choice of flavors in the garlic buffalo. I got the Korean BBQ brisket and ribs; the smoke flavor did not blend well at all. The BBQ had a great flavor, but not on the smoked brisket or ribs. The steak was good, but not for $48.00 ever. I get its local and hormone free, but I've had farm to table that is a lot better. Hey, I would have bought the kitchen a round of beers, but I didn't get that spark I was looking for. Will try again and hopefully have a more seasoned waiter.

Top quality. Inventive cuisine. Best fried oysters in the area.

The Butcher Station's food is to die for! Every time I'm there, I leave feeling much more satisfied than if I were to eat at one of Winchester's many chains. Plus the options are constantly changing and very creative. Definitely one of my favorites in the area!

Dan Rozek

The food is absolutely amazing. I got the roast beef sandwich and it was RIDICULOUS GOOD at an amazing price. Everything is made from scratch, even the sauce!

Trishalana Morrison

My favorite restaurant, I enjoy lunch the most. It is priced well and has so many yummy items to choose from. My favorites are the crepe and the cheese steak fries. Occasionally a waitresses can be uninformed but the owners are amazing! They are always willing to adjust your order for any dietary restrictions. That is huge as I don't know many other restaurants in the area that will do so happily. I love the atmosphere but the dining area is on the small side. I love that they butcher their own meat fresh and locally source as much as posdible you cancan a purchase from a deli case. In short I love this small neighborhood restaurant!

Shannon Trout

Absolutely love this place. Wonderful farm to table food. Delicious.

Lara M. Meno

I just left this place. We waited almost 30 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. The waitress told us that "just this once" she would allow us to eat the food that we had purchased there on their outdoor seats because they were for "full service customers" and would allow my toddler to eat the drinks and crackers that I'd brought for her because they were "outside" food and drinks. She then told my toddler to "be nice to" her "flowers" in the outdoor planters. These people are rude. Don't waste your money here.

Andrew Royer

Great atmosphere, awesome food, a hidden gem for sure. You need reservations but they were super cool about getting us a table when we walked in...

Cindy Craig

Stopped with a friend for a late lunch. Amazing! Probably the best hamburger I've ever had. My friend's steak was fabulous - tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. And our waitress, Denise, was a delight. I will definately be back.

Elaine H

We had great service and food. We enjoyed the dry-aged steak and pate appetizer. The Moscow Mule was too sweet.

Gabe Paaga

The food & service was fantastic. The bone in ribeye was cooked perfectly.

Michael Callahan

Amazing local food, my new go to!

Patty Clune

Jon L was an excellent waiter and the food was outstanding!

Alexis Leon

Amazing food, we had the Cuban and. Burger and both were fantastic. Also the iced coffee with sweet cream could have been dessert by itself. But that didn't t stop us from getting their cheesecake . Highly recommend!

Dustin Luttrell

Local meats and cheeses, it's a very small but amazing restaurant delivering gourmet dishes. Its possibly/probably the best burger I've had in my life. We are looking forward to trying their dinner menu and the dry aged hand cut steaks. Their website recommends reservations and I'm sure for dinner service that's a must. Truly a treasure for our small town

Jan Weiher

We have eaten here twice. The food was very good. Fresh, local, tasty. Service was good. I am giving only 3 stars due to the atmosphere and the prices. The atmosphere is minimal - indoor space is quite small, and tables are set up very close together right next to the deli display. Outside tables are set up on the sidewalk immediately next to parked cars. It's almost as if the restaurant portion of the business was an afterthought. The most recent visit two of us ate dinner - we had 2 entrees (steak and fish), one mixed drink, and 2 desserts. Our bill was $110 before tip. In my opinion, they need to adjust the prices according to the atmosphere (maybe 60% of current pricing), or find a location with tons more atmosphere to be able to command their upscale prices.

Carla Holuby

Awesome food but service is fair.

P. Michael Atkins

Took my mother here for her 60th birthday, great choice. Place was packed but our reservation was right on time.....steak was fantastic....cheese selection was great , wait staff was knowledgeable. We got oyster as an appetizer they were also great....will be coming back.....only complaint is there is no price list for the steaks.....ordered blindly and 50 dollars for a steak was a surprise but was definitely worth it.

Stopped in for dinner while traveling and had an absolutely fantastic meal. From the time we walked in the door it was a great experience. Staff great and food was even better. Appetizers and main course were delicious. My wife said they were the best crab cakes she's ever had.

The food was excellent. If you haven't been here. Get here. Resversations suggested. Casual dinning. Limited seating.

Come for locally sourced, perfectly prepared beef, pork, fish, and sides. Our meals were first rate. Pork belly, coconut shrimp, and pork chops. Sides included mashed potatoes, French fries, glazed carrots, cucumber salad and broccoli. It is a intimate place so make a reservation. They will make note of any allergies. We will be back.

The Ribeye's were dry aged and the best steaks that we've ever had. They were more tender than other steakhouses Filet Mignon's. The wait staff were exceptionally helpful and informative

came for the 1st time last weekend to try it based on the recommendation of a friend. really disappointed. we got there at 7pm on a Saturday and they were sold out of the specials. too bad. they may have been good. we were all oyster lovers and surprised to find several oyster selections on the menu, one of them already sold out. We ordered oysters on the half shell to start. they came promptly but you could literally placed the entire dozen into a tablespoon AND had room left over. we asked the waitress and a short time later the manager/owner came to the table and we explained our issue. she said they only serve the small (tiny) oysters raw because people dont like the large (prime) ones and they make them gag. I guess they really don't like oysters but just want to have people see them eat oysters. so we moved on to the meal, 3 of us ordered fried oysters after asking about the size. they came, six to eight medium sized ones. we started to eat and quickly discovered they were coated in panko instead of the traditional flour, cornmeal or cracker crumbs. it was like eating gravel or a bowl of dry Kellogg grapenuts. way too much for something as delicate as an oyster. all in all a very poor experience except for the local Winchester brewed beer. glad its over.

We were traveling through from Texas and found this hidden treasure. Flavors were well paired. Friendly atmosphere and great food. Highly recommend.

This is delicious little restaurant hidden in the back of a shopping center. Just about everything is sourced locally, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Visited for lunch, and I'm glad I chose The Butcher Station. I opted for the Cowboy Burger (sliced pork, bbq sauce, horseradish mayo on a huge beef patty).l with roasted broccoli and Route 11 chips. Paired it nicely with a recommended quadrupole bock. Price was moderate. Food was a AMAZING!

Cynthia Olechnicki

We had the joy of having dinner here and it was AWESOME!! The food was excellent and food display was also great. We will certainly go back and recommend this as a great place for dinner and service was great. Just cant say enough good things about our experience.!!!!!

Went out with mr. Family for a special dinner. I ordered the chipotle lime beef ribs. Everyone else's food was pretty good, nothing extraordinary, but my ribs were very tough and had a funny taste to them. Because they were braised, I'm guessing they were prepared beforehand, but I've never had beef ribs that were so tough. On top of it, I was sick the next day and all I could taste were the ribs. It's a shame cause I had been looking forward to trying this place, but after it made me sick, I doubt I'll be going back or recommend it. If you're going with the steak, it's a good choice but be careful of the things that probably don't get ordered often.

Laura Champion

Excellent selection of cocktails and beer. Wonderful oysters and perfectly seared scallops. The hopped sauerkraut was amazing as well. Great staff that are very knowledgeable and will offer cooking advice. I love coming here!

Brian Glynn

Service during our meal left a lot to be desired. Food was ok, but nothing special. After posting a review on Facebook, the co-owner decided to take the review personally and attacked my wife's comments. Obviously this pompous jerk, doesn't know the first thing about customer service and doesn't deserve any business. It's amazing that they are even in business with his condescending attitude and rude behavior. Not worth the time to write this review but others need to be aware and stay far away from this inhospitable establishment.

Mike Penrod

Where to begin.... The food here was amazing! The steaks are on a level that rivals any of the finest steakhouse I've been to. They were cooked to absolute perfection! Tender as could be. The most minimal of pressure required upon the knife to carve it up! So tender it just melted in your mouth! I mean, phenomenal! I would have posted pictures of it but everyone ate there's so fast that no pictures were to be had. It's one of the few times my gregarious family was mum. I did manage to get pictures of my dessert, Col. E.H. Taylor straight rye, (which I also had with dinner), which is a phenomenal rye. Their selection of bourbon/whiskey was excellent, as was their wine selection. The other picture was of their lava cake dessert. For one, you can never go wrong with lava cake and two, even though they've become a bit ubiquitous at many restaurants, these were, again, next level like everything else here. If I lived in the area, this would be my go to restaurant if I was looking for a top notch meal or looking to impress someone with my knowledge of the local cuisine! Highly recommend eating here!

The food is local and fresh. This is the best restaurant in Winchester.

Matthew Mendrygal

I travel extensively for work and eat out a lot. Customers like steak so I gotten a decent amount of comparisons built up over the years and I’ve developed a pretty high standard for my steak. Hands down, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. And truth be told, I don’t even prefer a NY Strip. But this just blew me away. Outstanding work Butcher Station.

Jerry Hickman

My favorite restaurant in Winchester. This is where I take people that I want to impress. Sandy and Jimmy use fresh ingredients, locally sourced to show off their talents. Amazing chefs that create amazing food. Mmmm

Jeff Terwilliger

Had the roast beef and mashed potatoes. So fresh tastes so good

Michael Girardi

Jessica Barnette

Absolutely AMAZING meal, EVERY TIME! Not only is the food good but the atmosphere is quaint and very personable. Jimmy and his crew provide a one of a kind experience. All of the meats are locally grown and seafood arrives fresh throughout the week. Their menu changes based upon what is available and fresh that day. Their beverage selection is grand, including several craft beers that you will not find anywhere else. If you are looking for good seafood or a meal that is unlike any other in the area, The Butcher Station is the place to go!

Dani J

The food was fresh and tasty. You’ll pay a pretty penny, but I had a great lunch with my husband.

I see many people love this restaurant. That's why we made reservations here. In fact, when we were seated I told the staff that my mouth had been salivating all evening waiting for this upcoming delicious meal. I couldn't wait! Unfortunately, this was not the experience we hoped for at all. We read the reviews and noted it was suggested several times that it was important to hold a table in advance. The person who took our Saturday 8:00 reservation even commented that it was a great time to easily get a table. However, when we arrived the Butcher Station was basically out of meat, with only strip steak and a few pork chops left. Come on. Did the manager not notice the name of the restaurant on the way through the doors?! To say the least I was thoroughly dissatisfied. Next, the waiter informed us that they were out of mashed potatoes. Did they have baked potatoes? No. Sweet potatoes? No. Ok what did they have? Fries. Really? Ugh. I love Cole slaw and collard greens even more. Respectively, they were flavorless and had an overly vinegar taste. So, anyway, we get the last pork chops and my wife's chop comes so undercooked she can't even eat it. So back to the kitchen it goes. It was such a disappointing experience. I will say the staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. The menu LOOKED terrific. That's it though. Looks can be deceiving.

Had the steak and mashed potatoes and loved it! The steak was the perfect size for me and cooked perfectly. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Good wine and beer selection and the homemade sangria is really good. Will definitely be back. Just remember, they serve fresh organic food, not processed food. That makes it even better.

Punkdesignercat

Love the atmosphere and indoor lighting. Excellent customer service. Great to try out another local place, setting is more set up for adult drinking and date nights. Music that they play has my approval. They are very nice and friendly and I suggest don't even get any menus just ask your server and decide that way :)

Molly Llewellyn

Best burger I’ve ever had!! Service was great! Can’t wait to come back with the family. Highly recommend!

Jentry Mitchell

The food was great but I was disappointed to notice a 6% meals charge on my bill. I will avoid Winchester restaurants in the future as long as this ridiculous tax is in effect. Disappointing because the quality of the food and service at this establishment was really great. Restaurants in Winchester need to rise up to protest this tax.

I had the 16 ounce porter house. Medium well! With a side of green beans, squash and mashed potatoes. Also had two glasses of red sangria. Wow! Enjoyed every moment of it. Worth every penny.....lol! Needed a good amount of pennies to pay for it. Definitely worth taking your family to or if your out for a special night.

I liked the service and the ambiance, the food was good but not nearly what I expected, to be fair we did go in about 20 min before closing. I really liked the drink choices and the fact that they are not stingy with the booze when preparing them

We went to the Butcher Station to celebrate our second anniversary. We had been meaning to go there for sometime as we have heard good things about it. It is a small shop, but a nice cozy feel to it. The menu said how their steaks were locally sourced, but the only red meat listed on the menu was roast beef. There was no chalk board listing their cuts, no specials menu nor did the server tell us about anything else. Since there was no indication of anything else and this was our first time there, I ordered their roast beef. We finished our appetizer and the table next to us gets their main course, which was steak. I, thought, maybe I misread the menu and decided to stay with my order and try the roast beef. Our dinner comes out and the roast beef was, to be generous, quite bland. I'm not one to send food back and truthfully I can't recall a time I had in the past. I just couldn't enjoy their roast beef, as well as the fact that they did offer steak compelled me to complain to the waiter. He asked if there was something else they could get me. I ask what are the other options and he hands me a menu, but still no mention of steaks. I ask where the steaks are listed and why aren't they on the menu, since they are obviously available. He says they aren't on the menu because they change daily. Perhaps they could have added a line on the menu similar to, oh, I don't know.. maybe "Ask our server about our daily steak specials", or maybe a chalk board or something listing them.. or any indication that they actually serve steaks besides a brief line on the menu telling us how their meat is locally sourced. Anyhow, the waiter informs me they only have the rib-eye left so I order that. It was an okay steak, not excellent, but not bad. It was cooked to my liking. The sides ordered (mashed potatoes and coleslaw) were quite bland and disappointing as well. Wanting to leave and not really in the mood for desert we request the check. That okay steak was $48. I have paid less for better steaks at other restaurants. They did remove the bland roast beef from the bill, however nothing was offered in compensation for our troubles. With the cryptic method of offering their steaks, the "okay" flavor of the steak and the high price I can't give the Butcher Station anything more than a single star. At least our server was friendly. Terribly disappointing and we will not be returning.

Alexander Manzo

This is the place to take your wife or girlfriend if you really want to give them an experience full of class and respect. The quality of the food could not get any better. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and presented it with class. It was a nice lay back quiet dinner with no pressure. The special of day always changes , so that is a nice treat to always have something so fine, at such a fine price. The owner visited our table and spoke with us, which really made the experience just right. Highly recommended.

Adam Seltzer

Came in from out of town. Great service & atmosphere. Taking one star off b/c my roast beef was a bit dry, BUT taste & texture was great. Food is good & simple, which is the greatest of compliments. Great beer selection.

Michelle Roberts

Delicious steak! Had the 16oz bone in ribeye. Loved it. Would go back for more steak for sure.

dave cdg

My wife and I stopped by here for a light dinner on the 18th of August 2015. The waiter was very friendly, attentive and courteous. The place is clean and neat but with no ambiance - pretty basic décor but as they say, who eats the décor. The menu is simple and limited and freshness is what they say they want to be known for. We were amused that the steaks listed on the menu do not state the size and the mostly do not state a price either. When asked about the filet, the waiter said it was $36 and the size was "a good size piece - about 4 to 6 ounces". We thought that was an unusual way to offer a standard menu item. The waiter mentioned that it was happy hour at the moment and we should also consider their special happy hour menu. We ordered three appetizers - a half a pound of boiled shrimp, a cheese sample tray, and a meat sampler tray. Also ordered one ice tea and one 16 oz beer. We were informed that they were out of the meat sampler and the waiter suggested that we order a wurst/sausage entre instead so we did. The food was tasty and fresh but very small portions - (the cheese sampler was ridiculously small). The meal comes with a non-descript soft white bread which was fresh but not the fantastic crusty French style that you would expect of a top notch, quality restaurant. In fact, the soft white bread was totally unsuitable for spreading the soft cheese, but there was plenty of it for the 4 slivers (and I do mean slivers) of cheese in the $14 dollar sampler. When I received the bill, it came to $70 for such a small meal. Not sure how long this place will remain in business but it will be without mine in the future.

Tl:dr – This place is for a fancy palate without having to cater the environment or prices to it. I immensely enjoy smaller places in smaller cities like this as I feel the proprietor is able to do more compared to bigger city restaurants and I felt like they did it right, had soul and whoever is running the place is doing a great job. I’m in town for work and I’ve been trying to keep to a lean diet (Low carbs) and was trying to find something just right. I stumbled upon The Butcher Station on one of the rating apps and was amused. At first, I had lunch there. In first thought, seeing the reviews and pulling into the shopping center – I had a feeling it was going to be a little done up and a little fancy. I walked in and it was totally not like how I expected but there was nothing wrong with that. For lunch, I was able to keep it keto – I had a burger and subbed the buns out and had it on a salad and was satisfied with it. No complaints, good ground beef patty and it was good. The service was good, not in your face trying or not absent either – just there and honestly, I think that is the best way for it to be. On top of things, I had a coffee with lunch and didn’t expect much either but it was brought along in a smaller French press serving and was a good coffee too! They didn’t sell me, I’m not the type to jump up but I felt satiation. It was enough to curiously bring me to dinner as my coworker had decided to do the taco place (Which from appearance, looked good) but as I said above, I’m on a strict diet. Again, it isn’t much to walk into but I was sat promptly – the menu was simple but I was able to enjoy dinner and I felt The Butcher Station out on this. I ordered the half dozen oysters, two different types – they were just spot on and you could easily tell they were quality sourced. I had the Denver steak that was one of the specials. The seasoning was just right on, I went with the recommended medium rare and while I’m more of a filet fan – I enjoyed it. Everything was cooked just right with the temperature staying put just about until I finished. The sides were enjoyable although I wish I could have tried some of ones that were more carb friendly as the mashed potatoes looked delicious and like they put some soul into them.

Food was decent. Portions are small for the price you pay.

What a great find! This was one of the best lunches I’ve eaten in this entire region. Sandy, the owner, and also my waitress, couldn’t have been nicer and told me all about their partnerships with local farms (pictured). I had the Green Apple Cashel Blue Cheese Burger (see picture) with the hand-cut fries. I subbed a house salad (pictured) instead of a side and had the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious, you could truly taste the care they put into every aspect of the food. I will certainly be stopping back in next time I’m in town and I highly suggest that you do too!
