Superb small deli serving HUGE subs. One is more than enough for two people. Frequented by locals - always a good sign. Sorry to read below of lady who had bad experience with staff as we found them friendly, relaxed and accomodating. Best to go early if you want to sit down at the only two informal tables.

Alissa Marianacci

Delicious turkey & avocado club! Fast, friendly service & quaint!

Best sandwiches in entire DC Metro area. Well loaded with meat. Great for carnivores. So big that most only can eat half or split amongst two people. Ideal neighborhood gem and butcher shop. Consistent locals following and small feel where remember your name. Regular and highly recommend.

Dave horton

Just what i was looking for. Grabbed a couple New York Strips about 12oz ea. Beautiful Marble fat content. Pan seared to perfection! Will definitely be back!

With sandwiches as big as a newborn baby (see picture), no words can describe how amazing these sandwiches are. We got the hot pastrami, brat, and the grinder. Every single aspect of the sandwich was good - the bread was phenomenal, mustard was great and meat was bomb. Definitely go, and definitely bring friends to share with!

Katie E

Sandwiches are consistently tasty (and huge!). It's hard to find a good, lean pastrami sandwich in DC and this place delivers. Their service there is also stellar...everything is handed to you with a smile and they are more than happy to provide pairing suggestions and help you pick out the cuts that you need.

Geoff Lenoir

Love that place, best sandwiches and meats

Andrew T. White

Epic Sandwiches! Worth every cent!

Tod Stuckey

Since finding this deli back in 2015 we have yet to make a trip to DC without eating here. We have even made the 2+ hour trip just to get their pastrami sandwiches. Sadly the pastrami sandwiches we got today will be our last from Stachowski’s. It is not that the pastrami sandwiches were sub par they were fantastic as usual. What bothered me the most was a hand written sign on the wall stating adding avocado to a sandwich would now cost an additional 50 cents due to some political BS. Had my wife and I not just spent money on an UBER to take us there and had I thought that she would not blow a gasket I would have left and gone somewhere else. Now I fully realize that in this area that political view is dominant and they certainly have a right to their own views. I do have to wonder why a business owned and operated by LEGAL immigrants would post such a sign. While it is their right to their own views it is my right not to do business with them because of it. Sometimes it is best to keep your political views out of your business, ask the NFL, Nike, and Dicks. I also felt the service was a bit gruff this visit but that may just be me imagining that since I was already ticked off. When I asked for extra pickles he gruffly pointed to a pickle barrel where I could buy a pickle for $1.50 each. Normally we call ahead and have our order ready complete with extra pickles at no extra charge. When we got back to our hotel we found that they did not give us any pickles at all.

I've got a special place in my heart for pastrami sandwiches and deli delicacies. My expectations for D.C. delis are fairly low, but I'm always delighted when a delicatessen surprises me. Stachowski's falls in that category. Out in Georgetown, my BF and I decided to stop by Stachowski's for a quick lunch. The storefront is small, but it was brimming with activity. I was legit impressed with how much they're able to serve in this corner Georgetown store. You can order various meat cuts and different types of sausages. I saw everything from bone-in ribeye, rack of lamb, filet mignon, turkey sausage, roasted chicken, and Cajun andouille to Kielbasa, duck, and Weisswurst. They also have some seafood items like tuna and salmon. And what's more - there are plenty of charcuterie options like panchetta, duck pate, rabbit pate, soppressata, mortadella, and duck prosciutto. And if that wasn't enough, they serve meatballs, kabobs, pastrami hash, and stuffed quail. Furthermore, you can find some fruits and veggies for sale as well, cookies, soups, sauces, syrups, and even frozen prepared food. This market is a one-stop shop! We ordered the 4 Meat Grinder ($12.99) to share. This has salami, coppa, mortadella, soppressata with provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and hot peppers in a house vinaigrette. This sandwich is massive, big enough for 3 people. I could only eat about 1/3 of it at best. The meats were all fresh, and there's a nice ratio split between bread, veggies, and meats. The vinaigrette makes things a bit messy (it wouldn't be a deli sandwich without some mess!) and it makes it difficult to save it for another day, since it'll make the bread very soggy. The bread is very crunchy, fresh, and holds up all the packed ingredients very well. I would definitely come back and try all their sandwiches. And if you're in the need for a great deli sandwich, head over to Stachowki's.

Bobby A

Authentic deli. Nice service.

Martin Ramos

So delicious!!

WAMZL

michael carragher

Jesus! The man behind the counter said "I think the grinder is big enough for 2 people..." yeah for 3 meals! Delicious!

Deshan Chandrananda

Had a very good hot pastrami sandwich

Kevin

Small so not a lot of seating. The grinder is the biggest sandwich I've ever seen. You'll have leftovers for sure.

Mason Stachowski

I was over there last summer and I was with the family that cam in with the last name of stachowski and started talking but never got time to asking how we are related so can you tell me please

DINO GEORGE

Don't miss this amazing place. Check them out on YouTube that's where I found them. All the way from New Hampshire! Jamie is a gentleman and truly 'The Meat Maestro' . See you soon!

I just pass by but never went inside

Michael McCarthy

A Gem in a great neighborhood. This place is a great place with great & tasty sandwiches. The sandwiches are huge and worth every penny. Over 1lb. of fresh smoked pastrami made on a sent straight from Heaven pumpernickel bread. Definitely a market to visit many more times.

Matt l

Had the hot pastrami.. Average at best Unfortunately doesn’t live up to the hype and not near the standard of a typical NY delicatessen

Dustin Price

Best sandwiches in the DMV area!

Dmitry Plotnikov

All sandwiches I've tried were delicious and massive. Definitely enough for two (at least!) meals. The meat they use is looks and tastes high quality. The bread is fresh and tasty too. What else do you need from a sandwich?

Lee Congdon

(Translated by Google) Excellent quality and cold meat options. Everything I tried was delicious. Your catering is highly recommended. (Original) Excelente la calidad y opciones de carnes frías. Todo lo que probé estaba delicioso. Muy recomendado su catering.

This is hands down one of the best places in DC, if not the best. The quality and assortment are top notch, get a sandwich, any sandwich, you can't go wrong.

Rozan Cater

Price s have gone up.

anand deshpande

Really hearty daily.. good food.. meat lovers paradise..

Jon Ayscue

If I had dropped the roast beef sandwich I ordered on the ground, it would have caused an earthquake. Can't wait to go back and try more! Go here, and buy the greatest sandwich in DC.

Nicholas Galgoul

Caroline Hamric

Great spot for specially meats and piled-high sandwiches.

Marco Calderon

If you're going to Stachowski's for meat, it's going to be hard to beat the quality. This is a true butcher shop that cares about their products. You'll find everything from Cornish game hens to New York strip steak to duck prosciutto. The sausages are also very, very good. The only downside is that you certainly pay for that quality - Stachowski's is not cheap. It's not a place you go for everyday shopping, but for a special dinner it's a great choice. Stachowski's sandwiches are comically large (particularly the 4 meat grinder, which is the size of a small head pillow), and are absolutely worth trying. The pastrami tends to draw a lot of people, and it's great, but it bears mentioning that it's thick-cut pastrami, not thin (for those of you that care). Whether you love it or not, the $12-$15 you'll spend on a "sandwich" that could feed a family of four is a fantastic deal.

Matthew Thompson

Pastrami brisket heaven.

Hanes Rosenau

Fantastic local market with an excellent array of meats. The staff is also very nice

Joseph Parish

The hot pastrami sandwich is humungous! This is supposed to be the best pastrami in DC. It's good but I'd be a little disappointed if DC really had nothing better.

Olivier Mayer

Worst butcher ever, was waiting for a special order that I was told to be there ready to be picked up, but no phone calls then the sudden it was there but not ready of course, anyway bad for my business and will never spend time or Money there

Dib Dias

The Pastrami sandwich is perfect! The best in town.

Ben Austin

Great experience, food was great and the staff were very helpful.

Tom Preston

Incredible homemade dishes everyday, and a wonderful selection of high quality deli items. Hands down our favorite place in Georgetown! A+++++

Caleb Jang

Just an ordinary corner deli? No way. The sandwiches are amazing. I'm literally eating a sandwich from stachowski's as I am writing this. I recommend the pastrami, the French dip, or the turkey club. However, those are the only ones I've had so far. I can guess that all the other sandwiches are amazing as well. They have tons of other stuff there too. I haven't had them yet either, but I'm sure its all great.

Catherine Bryant

Love. I love this place. It is exceptional.

Jonny Newburgh

I don't understand how this place doesn't have a perfect 5. Maybe someone is concerned that they're trying to give us all heart attacks, based on the size of the sandwiches (the five meat grinder in particular). But I'd happily accept my fate if it meant eating a Stachowski's smoked meat sandwich 7 days per week.

Jane L

This was my first visit but the way it worked was that when you enter head left of the register. This line will take you to the counter where you put in your order. Next pick up anything else you want and go to the other side to pay. Then stay on that side (near the menu) to wait for your order. The place filled up while I was there but order only took about 10 min. I got a pirosky and the hot pastrami sandwich. This set me back about $25, but you know what... The 5 lbs of meat will be enough for 5 meals for me.

Tim Schwuchow

One of their sandwiches could (deliciously) feed an army

Ethan Stackpole

Best Reuben sandwich I've had outside of NY. The care and effort they put into their charcuterie, sausages and deli cuts is evident in their flavor. Pricey at times, usually worth the investment.

Christina Fedor

Gordy Casasco

I gave stachowski's five stars but they really deserve 6. Everything here is top notch. Sandwiches - massive, best ingredients, fresh, and did I mention massive. Meats - Locally sourced and always the highest quality. Seriously though, that meatball sub is amazing and could feed a family of four.

Jill Nicholson

Best Turkey club I've ever had.

David Muss

This place has some of the best pastrami I've ever eaten, and I lived in New York for three years. Thick slices of pastrami, mustard, and extra slices of pumpernickel with a pickle on the side: that's all you need. You can also get other varieties of meats here and they're all worth trying. A must-go place if you're in the city.

Jesse Gray

Being an Ny/Nj native, 2 things i love pizza and pastrami. And this market has the pastrami to die for. The pastrami is nice and thick cut, with a great taste. Now i don't know where other people shop for pastrami like this and complain about the price, but it is worth it. Hell you'll pay double for the price of a sandwich like this in Ny and Nj. So if your looking for a good pastrami sandwich, definitely hit up Stachowski's.

Richie Smith

The best pastrami I've ever had!

Joseph Marchionna

Incredible Value! Great execution. Quality through and through.

Alyx Mark

A bit on the expensive side for a sandwich, but when you see the size of them, you'll understand! A wonderful addition to the neighborhood for local produce and fare, a great butcher if you are looking for something special. Not to be missed!

Sue Rundblad

Visiting from st louis. Great food, generous portions, fantastic employees!

Robert Rivas W.

Te best of the best!! Mr. Stachowski is a Grand Master of the meat.

Lenacooks Xoxo

They’re bread hard like rocks idk

Jesse Thomas

The ultimate butcher

Traci Kuratomi

This deli reminds me how great locally owned businesses are. Jamie, the owner, runs a great shop and is more than willing to make custom orders...scallop sashimi anyone? I love it, it's fun, and I'll definitely be back for the pastrami.

Matthew Howard

Kickass sandwiches!!! Highly recommended

Denis Golubinko

Best sandwich in town

Michael Epstein

The 4 meat grinder. An exceptional sandwich, no matter how good your hometown hoagie, sub or hero may be. This place is a gem.

Anne Huynh

Everyone was very nice and the hot pastrami sandwich is ridiculous. I've never gotten a sandwich that comes with an extra slice of rye bread.. but it makes sense because they give you so much meat that you can make a cute and delicious half sandwich on the side. Delicious and the pickle adds a nice crunch to it all. Oh, and they have mini pies from ACME Pie Co. here which are all delicious! Will be back for sure

Joe Blumhoefer

The pastrami is the best ever hands down

philip1515

Natalia Gapuk

A cute little shop with amazing sandwiches!

Rory Harper

Great local butcher/deli. Love the take-out food and sandwiches.

Bryan Zhou

amazing. simply amazing.

Austin Graff

Stachowski's Market is a small corner deli in north Georgetown away from the main shops and in a residential neighborhood. It opened in 2013 and is primarily a meat shop. However, they also sell bread, some produce, coffee, grab-n-go drinks, chips, cookies, and a few other items. In the very back are the meats and a board of sandwiches written in chalk. Every sandwich is HUGE! I ordered the pastrami sandwich and it came with three pickle spears and thickly cut pastrami. I could only eat one half. It explains why it ost $17 for a sandwich. It really is two meals. They also do dinners for pick up and they rotate each week.

Brian Fojtik

Best encased meats you'll find in DC and prepared foods are great too. A true gem.

Jovana

Chris White

One of the best sandwich shops in Georgetown and DC. Pricey but you get exactly what you pay for and you get more than you are expecting. Meals that can feed a small army....great experience

Ram Mohan Reddy

Good tasty food. And it's a lot. No vegetarian or Vegan options. To go advised. Recommend it.

Janusz Wilczek

Stopped by to have something warm to eat. I was served with burned, cold inside chicken, much warmer sweet potatoes and awful red cabbage. Horrible and very expensive experience . Everything else extremely expensive with very poor selection Wouldn't recommend this place. No parking, no service. Unfortunately there is no way to give no star Never again!!!

John Ayers

Fantastic butcher shop and sandwiches/soup. Wonderful neighborhood shop. Call ahead for special orders.

Slava Gadetskiy

The best sandwich here is actually the Roast beef, even though everybody gets the Pastrami.

Bryan Nguyen

Best sandwiches I've had in a long time. Meat is top-notch, but the breads were also excellent.

Cindy Kovacs

If you love meat, you will enjoy this place. They make prepared dinner each night. We enjoyed prime rib and roast chicken dinners. Sandwiches are enormous and delicious. They have prepared salads if meat is not your thing, even my favorite cheese bonne bouche from Vermont Creamery. It was the highlight of our stay in Georgetown. The pastrami on squaw bread had an extra piece of bread underneath for support.

Cory Biram

If you buy a sandwich anywhere else in DC, you are wasting your money. Nothing even comes close to Stachowskis. Same for the cuts of meat and the fridge full of sausage. If you want quality, nothing in DC compares.

Hugo Casella

Probably the best deli in DC. Amazing sandwiches and other products.

Bill Ament

RESPECT THE MEAT!

Danielle Paonessa

The food here does not disappoint! All made in house, free range, grass fed meats cut with painstaking care. Also selling hard to find meats(quail, rabbit, veal chops). If you are searching for an authentic polish deli, look no further!

1/7/2019 My experience at Stachowski's Market the other night was terrible. I've lived in Georgetown for years and have stopped into the market occasionally when passing by to get a cup of soup. A couple weeks ago, I bought the Pastrami sandwich to take home. I showed my husband that the meat was full of fat (not lean like pics I see on the internet or lean meat advertised at restaurant sandwiches). I could not eat it. $16 was thrown into the trash. I was mad that I paid for nothing. Last week I stopped by near closing to get soup to take home. Jamie (the owner) showed me a plastic container of leftover Chili that was in the cooler. I bought it. Got home and found that it was all liquid and nothing in it. Another waste of $7 for nothing. I stopped by last night to see what soup was in the pot and that I could see what it looked like. Did not like Lobster soup and passed on it. I mentioned to this guy in charge behind the counter (looks like and sounds like Eddie Haskel from the old "Leave it to Beaver" show) about my 2 bad food experiences (Pastrami with all fat; leftover Chili of all liquid). He answered very rough and defensively, "So what do you want me to do about it?" I said well, what would you do? He just yelled the same question back at me in a combative tone. I said give me my money back. He asked where is the sandwich? I said in the garbage weeks ago. He said he would have to see the sandwich (Chili wasn't discussed). From his demeaner and quick, rude tone, even if he saw the sandwich, he would say (as he had said to me in the discussion) that they don't know what is in the meat. He finished the discussion by telling me not to come back and said bye (like I was thrown out). Then he started to wait on another customer and was laughing to that person about me. He knows that I had been in the shop other times. I have lived in Georgetown for 45 years and was never spoken to in such a rough and rude manner by any shop. There was no apology from him for me paying for poor food or an offer to make good on another product. I have worked in high end establishments in Wash., DC part time over the years and would never treat a guest as this person talked to me. I guess because the shop gets good reviews and his position is secure (maybe family member), he feels he can talk down to anyone who complains. Well, I want the public to know that the shop is fine to people who are happy, but it doesn't have the correct customer relation skills to handle unhappy customers other than telling them not to come back. I am very hurt and shocked by this exchange.

Alex Dzwill

Easily the best sandwich I've ever had. 1.5lbs of corned beef, incredible bread, even the mustard was perfect! It was so big it ripped the paper bag. They also have a wide range of meats and charcuterie that are all made in house, absolutely incredible.

Sami Can TANDOGDU

Amazing!

John Nolan

Great sandwiches in a quiet part of town.

Frank C.

The place is da bomb.

Pascal Hermann

Ate a Pastrami Sandwich. Best!

Andrew Goodall

Honestly I am picky about my deli sandwiches, but I went last night about a half hour before closing time and the quality was extraordinary!! My wife got the beef liver sandwich and I got the turkey club and they were both amazing. It is a bit of a drive for us, but so good I would drive a long ways to get it again!! Thanks!

Zach Heng

Over-hyped Georgetown Cupcakes, M St Traffic, Luxury Retail Stores, Tourists everywhere... all reasons I tend to avoid the Georgetown area as much as possible (I also live in Rosslyn, which should tell you how much I hate going into Georgetown). However, I now have a huge reason to venture into this area and it's the huge Pastrami Sandwich at Stachowski. This behemoth of a sandwich is piled high and probably weighs in at 2 pounds, if not more. This heavyweight sandwich seems like it ate all the other sandwiches then hit the gym for months. Everything about this sandwich was overwhelmingly awesome. Included with the sizable sammie is a pickle spear and an additional slice of bread. Upon unwrapping the small car-sized sandwich, I questioned why there's an extra slice hanging out... but then it hit to me -- to make more sandwiches. Like most normal human beings, this sandwich is simply too much for one meal. I was able to take that extra slice of bread and turned the one big sandwich into 3 smaller, more manageable sandwiches. Overall, the food is crazy good and the staff is super helpful. Based on this one sandwich alone, I'm certainly looking forward to returning to try some of the other super-sized sammies. One thing is for sure, it's certainly worth the trouble of fighting through the Georgetown circus.

Dallas Elgin

Mike Hill

Wow! Greatest Italian coldcut sub to be had. Ever.

Millicent Harris

The sandwich was huge and worth $15

Patrick Aquia

Rude ,rude, rude. I have never seen a manager so rude and disrespectful. I have thought maybe it was because he was young. But after 2 visits it is just his personality . Maybe he shouldnt work with people. I can only imagine how he treats his co workers. Hopefully he doesnt treat them like he treats the customers.

Shane Atlas

Pedro Vianna

VERY rude waitress, I didn’t even stick around to try the food, might be good, but her disrespectfulness got in the way!

Nick Kraus

John Ruxton

Harry Ross

Lives up to the hype.

Steve Ehrlich

This place is amazing. Very friendly staff, and tasty food.

Sherry McMahon

Awesomely fabulous sandwiches. And a nice neighborhood market, emphasis on freshest meats.

Rich Moser

Best meat in all of DC

Steve Higdon

Jamie personally delivered (with no delivery fee) our lodge dinner last night, and even insisted on helping me carry the boxes up four flights of stairs. The sandwich platter for 25, which consisted of a variety of all his sandwich choices, was a huge hit. I was thoroughly disappointed that there were no leftovers for lunch today. Stachowski's was recommended to me by a very good friend, who also happens to be a former chef for the Secretary of Defense. It certainly did not disappoint and I will be going back very soon with my family. Thanks, Jamie!

Gene Taylor

Awesome sandwiches, fresh cut meats and extremely friendly service.

umut akyol

Voow, pastrami sandwich was devine!

Jason S

Between the giant italian sandwich, and the italian corned beef sandwich, you cannot go wrong! only order 1 of those 2 sandwiches! they are as big as your head! well worth the trip!

L Davis

#delicious#butchershopsandwich#fantastic

Jerome Lamboy

Awesome place. You will find unique items. The meat is excellent even though it is a bit pricey.

James Weingarten

Fantastic new butcher just inside Georgetown on P street. Amazing selection of beaf, veal, pork, and chicken. Also, wonderful pates, sausages, and Italian coldcuts. The prepared meals are very good, but the meats are the best part. They also have some fresh veggies for sale and other sides. Pricey, but worth it for the quality.

Brian Flores

Chefs choice dip...amazing.

Keith Lamphier

Potomac Hudson

Great place for meat sandwiches. We went there because we were craving for a well prepared sandwich with real meat and Stachowski popped put in the search. Expectations met. We got the primer rib and it was really good. Next time, we will try the pastrami. The place has space for no more than 8 people to eat there, so better think ahead where to eat.

Jean AbiNader

My go to place for deli foods and house made sausages great for GF folks. Tasty well prepared good portions. Good food, not cheap, worth it.

Pete

I drove one hour after Church just for a grinder sub. You know what? It was all worth it!!!! The sub is super huge. It taste amazing!!! I love the vibe in the shop. There are one small table and one big table. It’s hard to find a seat when it’s busy. Luckily, me and my friend got there just in time for lunch. If you are looking for a Butcher shop. This is the place you have to go get your fresh meat in Georgetown. I miss the good old day that you can go to a Butcher shop get fresh meat. They also have roast chicken !!! I am definitely going to get one next time visiting friends in Georgetown. The store is super clean. The staffs are amazing friendly and helpful.

Jason Grant

Daniel Nguyen

Good expensive butcher. OK dinners (~$15)

Laurent SAIAG

The owner makes me think of Roman Polanski ;-) Excellent beef, veal, prosciutto, sausages.

Peter Kiefer

Old fashioned butcher shop, with good selection and friendly service

K

The place is really dirty and the workers aren’t as welcoming. I ended up not buying anything from these guys. I’m definitely not coming back here any time soon. What a waste of my time

Raul Martinez

Local family deli, that creates monstrous Sandwiches, but delicious. also available are fresh cuts of meats, poultry, rabbit, etc. When in town, this is where we shop for our proteins and some local veggies and farm fresh eggs.
