Bought a rancid package if lamb this week...label said it was good until 3/24 and its only the 12th...wouldnt be so bad but had the same thing happen with dog bones that we purchased last week.... Nevermind my wife just told me that she bought the lamb at Market Basket but the bones part is accurate

Meat is good and they run some really good deals at times. Overall the prices are fairly in line with other area grocery stores most wise. Love the cowboy marinade and the cuts off meat are good. Think the prices for other groceries there though are a little high. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful, bit only 4 stars as it always seems the staff at checkout are surely and not too thrilled to be there. The most recent time might wife said hi, thank you, we etc. to the clerk and be acted like he couldn't be bothered... very rude..

We went in and the customer service is fantastic. It's a great friendly no pressure atmosphere. You can tell they butcher on site. The employees love their product. Even the other customers are cheery. Great prices for excellent meats. Scott gave us the run down on lots of products and he was a star example of customer service. We'll be buying all our meats here from now on. They had samples of steak out and definitely the most tender steak I've ever had.

Never again.... I was really excited about McKinnon's offerings for our meeting. I usually order from a place that delivers but I was impressed with the options from McKinnon's. Unfortunately my first experience with them wasn't the best.... I was supposed to pick up my large salad and large sandwich platters at 11:00a I arrived at 11:05 but I waited until 11:45 before getting the order, so it was late getting to the meeting - everyone was sitting and waiting for the food! Also, the containers were flimsy - the overs would not stay on and the bottoms were week, it was very difficult to transport them without dumping the goods all over the ground. I recommend keeping track of orders better and getting sturdy containers for carry out.

Bought Baby Back Ribs for a catered party, they should hang their heads in shame for selling those cuts. The fat and lack of even a rib was unbelievable. Even super fatty St Louis cut made these look meaty. Pure ripoff. First time shopper there and never again.

Great selection of meats, no doubt. However, their pre-packaged veggies, like green beans, are disgusting! Dried out, woody, and 2x the price of Shaw’s or Market Basket! You will pay double for any family staples like bread, coffee, croutons, fruit etc.

Marinated Steak Kabobs are excellent, and a great value for $4,99/lb. Also, the Steak Bomb Sausage are incredible, have never had anything like them before. These are the meats I go back for.

I have always had a great experience here. Today Sherri (Sorry if the spelling isn't correct) helped me at the meat counter and she was spectacular. Very friendly and helpful and had no problem at all with a request. She is top notch......

I love McKinnon’s. They have great meats and prepared foods. The staff is friendly and the store is clean. I did find one time that the chicken was rubbery after cooking it. I always get the same chicken and cook it the same way. Not sure why it was rubbery that time but overall it’s still good. Also love that they carry blueberry milk.

Perhaps my favorite grocery store ever. The meat selection is great, it's hard to find better quality. Their prepared food section is really good and their deli counter is great. Some prices might be higher than others but quality is worth it. The only knock is they tend to change their selection a lot and it's not always for the best.

When McKinnon's first came into the area, we were very impressed with their quality of produce and meats. Recently, we have had several bad experiences with both produce and meat. Tonight, we brought home meat that was spoiled. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially since the expiration date was not even close to today's date. Shame on you, McKinnon's. I am sorry to say, we will have to shop elsewhere for our food. This is a huge disappointment.

Twice now I've brought home meat from McKinnon's that was not the freshest. The first time it was ribeye steaks, and the second time it was a whole chicken. McKinnons: please clean up your act. I used to be able to count on fresh meat from you.

Great quality, nice and friendly staff. Not as large of a produce section as I would have liked to see. Plenty of regular groceries for needs you might have. The meats look amazing... Very thick, very quality, amazing looking meats. We did not buy any this time since we were not going straight home. They had a lot of single serving meals (quite a variety). I thought many of them were overpriced, but they're obviously selling enough to warrant how much they put out.

Great place to shop or have lunch. It has great fresh foods and the salad bar is the best in the area. Fantastic cheese selection and a very wide beer selection. It is nice to have wide choice of import beer as well as domestic micro brews. Also of you are on the way home after work and want to grab a prepared meal they have it there ready to go all made in-house.

I absolutely love McKinnon's! The quality and selection of foods here is the best around. Whether you're shopping for meats, seafood, produce, sides, or just doing some light grocery shopping this is the place to go! I also love their salad bar. I go a few times a week for lunch and it's always delicious. I don't interact with the staff much but the few times I have they have been very friendly and helpful. Check them out!!

Nice store. Food can be pricey. But hands down worst pizza I ever had. I got the bacon pizza. It was rock hard crust. The bacon/cheese came off in one piece. And the sauce was just too sweet. Try something something else besides the pizza

I want to love this place but, after getting spoiled meat 3 times in as many weeks, I'm done. Their produce and dairy are expensive, but we always came for their meats and Boar's Head deli products. In the last few weeks we have had 2 bad packages of chicken, and 1 bad package of ground beef. All 3 had gone bad 2-3 days prior to the "sell by" dates marked. The employees were always apologetic when I returned the items, but nobody ever acted surprised when I said that we had gotten rotten meat. In fact, the only thing that the meat manager said was "yeah, that grass fed beef goes bad in just a couple of days." So, after 3 separate nights of having to scramble and change dinner plans, followed by the requisite trips to return spoiled meat, I can no longer shop at McKinnon's.

Update - They did fix the hand-basket issue! Thanks for listening. Also hands down the best place in the area for fresh fish and meat. The quality and pricing is exceptional --- Generally very good, with a solid range of fresh produce and refrigerated products. Some items are very competitively priced and the staff are always helpful. I only wish they would fix the odd sickly smell when you first walk into the store and have more hand baskets available.

I have always loved McKinnon's. Fresh meats and prepared meals. If my last visit there was my first I would never go back. I bought some boneless chicken breast to make a stir fry. Even as I was cutting it up before cooking it just didn't seem quite right .. it was tough. I marinated it before stir frying. It was still tough and we couldn't eat it. Weird texture! I never had tough chicken before. I also bought the haddock pie and it was all cracker crumbs..where's the fish? And the crab cakes were dry and flavorless. The scallops wrapped in bacon though we're deliciuos! I hope they can go back to the quality they used to be.

I get the Sushi here almost every time I come in. It's Excellent. I think of it like a whole foods without the a really expensive price tag. A lot of times there's a huge line at lunch time if you go there so you just cash out at the service desk.
