Great place for fresh, local meat. In many cases, cheaper than the local grocery store. Must try the ready seasoned ribs, and the ground beef. They have pellets for smokers, but no wood chips or chunks. No worries tho. Just go right next door.

A large satisfactory shop that serves the culturally deprived community of Salt Lake City. I have shopped there for hard to find meats like veal shanks (I guess it's illegal to slaughter calves in Utah) that are shipped in from "the states." The last order I placed for veal shanks was $200. which is about 50% higher than back east but they were excellent---pink ,small ,and very tender after preparing Oso Bucco . This recent $90 order of veal shanks last week was of unacceptable quality---over-sized, thick ,and tough and more like beef shanks. I received a very kind response from the owner Jake that who reassured me of their continuing commitment to customer service and quality meats.

Probably my favorite place/store/restaurant/facility of any kind in Utah. This is totally my happy place. The most amazing meats, selection, and staff. Oh did I mention that they have probably the best sandwiches/ deli anywhere. Seriously try the Mac salad, you’ll thank me later. (Very awesome deal for a lunch combo too) The staff is just out of this world amazing, always over the top service and attentiveness. They can work with you on whatever special requests you want. Really amazing selection of BBQ sauces and rubs, Bbq woods and pellets, specialty chips/grocery, and a big selection of craft sodas. We are looking to move back into the valley (from Tooele) and no joke, anywhere near Sniders is basically the #1 item on my list. Really been looking hard in the neighborhoods around. Okay, okay, I’m totally obsessed, but for good reason. Let this place rock your world too! I have one tiny little complaint, and I guess it’s just a bit selfish. I wish their hours were a bit more friendly to working people. Hard to get here before closing sometimes working regular hours. Wish they did Sunday’s too.

I had to go to Snider's on Saturday 12/22. This was probably the worst day to have to go and get my monthly order, but because of my work schedule it was the only time i could make it. I got there around 3:00 p.m. and the place was packed, as you could imagine for the holiday. There were 16 people in front of me. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for my number to be called. When my number was called, Michael was the person who was helping me. I had about 16 items on my list i needed, I felt bad that I had so many items on such a busy day. This did not faze Michael, I was naming off things I needed about two items ahead of what he was getting, and he kept up with me. He managed to get all my items correctly and have me at check out with in about 20 minutes. These people are the best and it's the only place we buy our meat. Great butcher shop. Great quality. Great value. When we want the good stuff, we come here and stock up. They have their own line of meat spices as well. We love the Porterhouse Roast spice and we use it on all beef dishes (not just roasts). They have great Tri-tip, marinated or plain. Their Cherry Wood smoked bacon is awesome too. You can't go wrong. They have a great selection. They are really knowledgeable and they give great, very fast service.

Best meet it town. Grass feed and grain finished beef. They also have assured me they do not purchase the meet from factory farmers. Initially I was a bit freaked out they don’t wear gloves when handling the raw meat. I learned the health department does not require the use of gloves just food hand hygiene. They are required to wash after raw meat prior to getting anything from the deli which they do. The porter house steaks are amazing. We also enjoy the stuffed pork chops and other meats prepared for the oven. Great for working people.

I'm so angry and frustrated right now I can't see straight. My family works on Thanksgiving. So we are having our Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday this year. I've been a customer of yours for years but never bought our turkey through you. I decided to try this year. Wow what a mistake. Since we aren't having dinner until Sunday I didn't want to pick up the bird until Friday. I asked if that was a problem. The lady at the checkout told me no that's no problem. Just put Friday pickup and the date and they'll still hold it for you. I was like great. I requested a 20-24 lb bird since I have my whole family coming over. I called today to check and make sure you guys still had it before coming down and was told no. They didn't hold me a bird and all that were left were 15 and 16 lbs birds. That's 2/3 the size of what I needed. They let me talk to manager (I think he said his name was Will) and I explained why I was upset. If you guys couldn't hold the turkey the size I needed, I would have went and bought a frozen one and spent the multiple days defrosting it. But since I need it defrosted for brining tomorrow I don't have that option now. So, because you guys didn't honor your commitment to me, I'm stuck either 1) not having enough turkey or 2) calling all over town to find someone else with a fresh bird and driving to get it. (I did find one by the way from a nice gentleman at the Smith's in Murray.) So look, here's my main issue. The customer service and the way I was treated by Will. I get that people make mistakes. That's fine. If a customer calls with a complaint there is a simple recipe to make 99% of them happy. Empathize with them, explain the situation and try to find a compromise to make everyone happy and save a customer. Will did 1 of those things. He explained the situation, but even that was in a very forceful, cavalier way. Multiple times I had to interrupt him because he kept rudely talking over me. He wouldn't let me finish a sentence. Furthermore his whole attitude was just downright asinine. I'm an upset customer that has been coming their for years. A little empathy and compromise could have remedied the situation. THERE WAS NONE. His attitude was there was a mistake. So what? What do you want me to do about it? I have this turkey available take it or leave it. Fine I leave it. And, unless someone wants to reach out to me and make amends, I leave your company. I LOVE your store. The quality is unmatched. But I will not frequent a company that treats it's employees that way.

Went here on a recommendation from a friend. Absolutely blown away. There are very few businesses out there that motivate me to drive completely out of my way in rush hour traffic, and this is one of them. I will be going back regularly. The customer service was excellent, and the meat was incredible. The ONLY critique I had was that some of the cooking instructions on some of the frozen stuff I bought didn't yield optimal results. We made it work though and enjoyed all of it thoroughly!

1st time coming here and my husband and I are going to be lifelong customers! If the meat quality and food was mediocre, the friendliness of the staff would still earn them a 5 stars! We came in knowing we wanted a "brisket" and that was all the recipe said, but the guy behind the counter was able to work out what we probably needed and didn't make us feel like the inexperienced dummies we were haha! Luckily the quality of their handmade meals and hand cut meats is incredible as well so I guess 10 stars are in order ;) We also ordered one of their super customizable deli sandwiches and those were delicious as well. I marked sourdough on the sandwich order slip but it was made with whole wheat. I marked "To Go" on sandwich order slip but they served it on a plate on the counter. The fountain soda cup they filled and served me had soda all over the outside of cup. I had to wipe down before picking up off the counter. A raw pack of sausages I purchased was bagged with a sandwich and container of potato salad. Raw meat should be bagged separate from ready to eat foods to avoid cross contamination. I had to specifically ask for receipt when making purchase. They were going to throw it away if I didn't say something.

You get better Meats at Harmons that being said there's a great selection of items here. The 2 counter guys and the cashier were all very friendly and helpful. More so than you would expect for a guy asking a lot of questions at the end of the day while they were trying to get a jump on closing. Big thumbs up on service! They also enter a lot of national BBQ competitions so they have a lot of good information in that Arena. On the downside, the sausages are high in fat I wouldn't recommend them and it looks like the majority of their beef is USDA Choice you'll get better grade and cuts again at Harmons they have USDA Select (a higher grade) Most everything in the service counter. Plus they have a dry aging locker.

The sandwiches made to order are of high quality and very affordable for the amount of meat you get and are leagues above Subway. I recommend checking out their weekly specials, I always stock up for meals for the week on those.

I love Shivers Bros Meat. Today I just got a sandwich. My opinion is if you're getting a meat sandwich, get it at a butcher shop. Sniders $7 6" sub has 1/3 pound of meat. Compare that to the chains and there is no comparisons. I love the hot mustard they make. It has mustard and horseradish and is delicious on the roast beef sandwich. It's also a great butcher shop and has several items you can take home and heat up. Great for a dinner party. I have had the chicken Santa fe and a couple of other stuffed chicken breasts. Always terrific. Give them a try.

I was gifted a gift card of $100 to this place and misplaced it, which I understand is totally my fault. However I called them to see if they could look up the number of it (I have the number of the other gift card purchased at the same time so I feel like they could easily find it) but they were absolutely no help. So I’m just SOL on a $100 gift. The gentleman who answered the phone kept insisting that it wasn’t safe for them to keep credit card numbers on file when I wasn’t even referring to the credit card. I’ve NEVER had a problem with this anywhere else and worked for a small retail company that could easily replace gift cards that were YEARS old so I’m really not sure how the “manager” is unable to find it but I won’t spend a single penny there EVER.
