I was disappointed. I purchased a whole, uncooked beef tenderloin. For $150, it should have been exquisite - however the texture was slightly grainy. The service was excellent, however.

This place is a BBQ'ers dream. Amazing quality and selection of meats and seasonings. I spoke with Brandon and Anthony, both very helpful, knowledgeable, and downright friendly. I went in for the first time today for ribs and I can't wait to go back to try something new.

Great selection of on site buchered meats. They also carry specialty items like Parisa, jalapeno poppers, Quail poppers, chicken poppers. Etc. They have a restaurant behind the meat market in a beer garden if what you want is not on the menu you can purchase it at the meat counter and take it the back to be cooked. No extra charge how awesome is that?

Purchased a Big Green Egg from Chick's. Brandon & Ross drove down to Selma, delivered and set up my Egg for me! The prime bone-in ribeyes are the best I've ever had. Great, friendly customer service. So glad to have a prime meat market in the area!

It’s still relatively new and growing so with that comes some growing pains. The owners and employees couldn’t be any nicer which always helps. I haven’t seen or experienced anything that would keep me from coming back. I’ve only been for lunch so far but I’m looking forward to trying some of their meats at home.

Great, high quality meats from genuinely nice folks. Love the tomahawk pork chops. We love the jalapeño and cheese beef sticks and summer sausage. The rapid growth and expansion of Chick’s is no surprise. They now offer deer processing with 24 hour dropoff. The owners and employees are always friendly.

Chick's is hands-down the best meat market in town! Every cut of meat that I've purchased here is amazing, from bone-in steaks (including rib-eyes, New York strips, and filets), to St. Louis ribs, to smoked sausage, nothing here disappoints! And now they're selling Big Green Eggs and supplies, so I no longer have to fight San Antonio traffic for charcoal. And most importantly, the customer service is incredible. All of the butchers are friendly and knowledgeable, they've taken all the time necessary to answer all of my questions and help me make great choices from the meat case. I haven't found service this good anywhere else in and around San Antonio. I'm a customer for life!

The steaks here will make you realize what steaks should be like. Worth every penny. The customer service is insane- they really bend over backwards to make sure you're taken care of. Really wish these guys were located closer to my home!! They're amazing. Good selection of raw cuts, grill ready foods (like asparagus stuffed chicken breast), and unique condiments. A must see place for a meat connoisseur!

This place has almost everything! But, I am always happy with what they have! Regular live music and events. Other nights it can be quiet and you can just sit out in the yard have some great food and drinks. The food made up front is amazing as well as anything you may select for grilling or cooking from the meat market. Can't tell that I like the place...can ya? BTW the burger is Axis Deer, steaks are Prime Ribeye, the sausages are made there and were for St. Patty's day- Bangers and Mash. Try them out and follow on Facebook for all their events coming up!

We just moved to the area and stopped in for lunch. Any place with a "backyard" is appealing to the kids, so they were eager to play on the playground equipment, which was nice and sturdy. The service was excellent, we were greeted with a smile and friendly handshake. The Prime Brisket Panini was amazing. Even the Grilled Cheese was delicious. Can't wait to come back on the weekend to listen to live music.

I really like the quality of the meats and the staff is always friendly and ready to help. If you don't see what you want displayed they can always cut it fresh for you. In response to a previous review, a simple Google search will show that Creekstone Farms uses a variety of distributors including Sysco, Ben E Keith, C&C Packing Inc., etc...

A relatively new operation that features prime meats and seafood. Not cheap, but their product is great. It´s a meat market, but on Friday and Saturday evenings you can select your cuts at the butcher´s station and take it outside so it can be grilled for you. Have both taken ribeye cuts home and grilled them and have also gone on a weekend night and had them do the grilling (no additional charge), while we listened to their live music. Given that they are relatively new, if they get busy wait times can get a bit extended, but I´m sure this will improve as their routines become second-nature to them.

This was our first visit to Chick's Meat Market and it was very much a pleasant surprise..!! All of the folks are super friendly and even the owner walked right up to us to see if we needed any help.. He told us how they have live music, beer, wine and margaritas on the weekends and how you may pick your own stake and they'll cook it right up for you.. They also have an awesome playground area for the kids.. We will certainly be back again soon..!!

Best meat market. Prime cuts are super delicious and we'll marbled. The homemade salsa is to die for. Plus they will deliver. They have a beer garden in the back and will cook up any cut of steak you'd like

Great Watering Hole! Visited in June 2019 on a Friday evening. Live band was The Jesse Stratton Band - an excellent local band! Food was good, beer was ice cold, and the service was 10 for 10 - Nice Work The Original Chicks -Meat Market. Think we met one of the Chick family members and he was super welcoming and would do whatever was needed to make sure everyone was having a good time safely. The live band location is a shady area behind the meat market. Next time we go, we'll go get a steak or other from the meat market and they'll cook it to order (two thumbs up!). Parking is kind-of a do what you can sort of affair but very doable. If its hot out, they have misters all over the place. The evening we were there, it started raining as we were leaving and they were in the process of moving the band to a covered area to keep the fun going... again way to go Chicks and Jesse Stratton Band!

Music was great last night. A few improvements are needed, but the place is a nice outdoor place to hang with the kids, listen to live music, drink a beer, and eat a pulled pork sandwich. Speed up the ordering process, post your menu so those in line can see it, and bring in a better beer selection and you will knock it out of the park.

Definitely a 5+ star review. I started going here for meat when I worked in the area. Now I will still make the trip for the best steaks in town. We’ve also really enjoyed going on weekend nights for live music. Great family friendly place to bring kids with outdoor playground and games. Special events like Mother’s Day have also been great. The owners are great people who always make us feel welcome and appreciated. I can’t recommend enough!

I went in for my first time today. The steaks were beautiful, extremely expensive, but beautiful. I ring the bell, choose my steaks and here arises my issue that assures I won't shop there again. The gentleman used gloved hands, one of which had a big hole between the thumb and index finger, to grab and bag my meat. He then proceeded with meat and blood covered gloves to wrap the meat contaminating the paper. To make matters worse, he proceeded to the front, still wearing the same gloves and used the register touching most everything. He's now contaminated everything with raw meat. To me this is a huge concern, especially when they serve cooked food as well. Proper meat handling practices are extremely important to me, so I won't be returning.

I stopped by here today. Everything seems to be top notch. Their smoked sausage is smoked with applewood and has great flavor. I picked up a stuffed bell pepper and a pack of kobe beef hot dogs. Staff of very friendly, this is the perfect place to stop to pick up dinner on your way home.

Great place, with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Steaks are amazing, as well as all of their other meats, chicken, pork, sausages, and their cheeses. They even got me to eating some asparagus that they season and wrap in bacon.....Awesome place to go hang out in the beer garden and enjoy some food, drinks, music, and family fun.

Opening day, and there's a small crowd and wait. Not everything is always out at the counter, so ask if you don't see what you want. We picked a couple boneless ribeye and pork chops along with some of the snack sticks (pretty tasty). It costs more, but the animals are humanely raised, and not fed chemicals banned in every other country.

It is always more tender, juicy, & flavorful than meat from any other establishment. Make sure you try the BACON!

We have purchased ribeyes several times and they were delicious. You pay for the high quality meats that Chicks sells and they are well worth it. We have also gone to listen to a number of the bands that play on Fri and Sat nights and they have been wonderful. We always have a great time.

The BEST beef jerky you'll ever have!!! Owners are so friendly and incredibly helpful. Everyone in the area wants to see this place do well. They are a gem. I just wish they shipped their jerky so I could send it to my friends!!!!

Meat is well above par and will buy again. Late night music on the other hand is an incredible nuisance to residents within a mile radius of their facility. Not respectful to their neighbors or nursing home in earshot.
