I entered the store. They just stared at me. Horrible place. I asked for help at meat counter. Someone at counter tried to help me with request of beef shanks. But it just seemed awkward for me. I am felt like west Texas area. A time warp. It was aweful.

I was excited to have shot my first deer and being from Lockhart, I wanted to keep it local instead of taking the deer meat to Austin to get processed. I went dropped it off discussed what I wanted and ordered sausage with cheese so my kids could eat it. This was an exciting time for me because it was my first deer and I was providing for my family in a different way as well. The first complaint was the sausage were not in vacuum sealed bags and were freezer burned. When I spoke to manager Craig about the sausage being spicy with jalapeño he said that's how it came but I had asked for it to be without jalapeño because I wanted my kids to be able to enjoy the sausage. He offered to replace the sausage with beef and pork but then what happens to my deer meat, they needed up on my order not me. When I asked for a discount for their error he said why are you trying to get something for free. This was never the point, we know processing is not free. They messed up on my order and now I have a daughter who was looking forward to deer sausage who can't even eat it. Craig then said I have to go and hung up on me. This was the worst customer service I've had to deal with and very unprofessional. I would recommend taking your money elsewhere and drive to Austin instead. Don't let them mess up your deer meat.

We had the daily s special which consisted of a chopped bbq sandwich and it was huge, not to mention delicious!! We also bought some beef jerky and smoked sausage. On our way back from College Station, we're stopping to buy some pork chops and steaks!!!..very clean store, clean restrooms and the staff was friendly!!

If you can find better steaks, I'll eat them for you. Best of meats! I've been buying meat there for over 10 years. You simply cannot find better beef, pork, or chicken. You can find it cheaper, sure. But not better. The groceries are a little higher, but hey, is not Wal Mart. If you like fine steaks, look for Chuck Norris's picture on the wall. He stops there when he comes through!
