We offer you all the feddbacks of real people who used the services and products of The Choppin\' Block (Butcher Shop) near Tennessee.
Nowadays the business receives a score of 4.5 over 5 and that rating is based on 108 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is virtually the best one, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the evaluation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

Yummy is the word will be back again
Good meat selection and price just before a Holiday
I love the Choppin block and can’t figure out why on earth anyone would expect the owner to pay the $3 fee for an atm. The owner could not help that the credit card terminal wasn’t working. Also, why would you leave a review and say that the owner is a bad person because they wanted $3 off of their order.
Always delicious! Ribeye sandwich and homemade potato salad. Yummy!!
Great food. The staff is awesome.
My favorite place!! Always great food and awesome meat selection!
They have an awesome breakfast and lunch. I believe in supporting small locally owned businesses. I like to call ahead and have them marinate me a couple of ribeyes. I’ll take it home and grill it myself. Steaks are always the best cut.
Great food friendly staff honest prices
If you like to over pay, go visit it
Meat!
Rib eye sandwich and a side order of French toast ... Excellent !!
Good meats. Good food. Good service
That Ribeye Sandwich is awesome...especially with a twice baked potato!
When we travel we look for somewhere local to eat. This place was amazing! The boudin balls are delicious, so much so, that we drove to walmart to buy a cooler to take some home! We had the ribeye sandwich, with all the fixin's, which was also delicious. Great food, great staff, we highly recommend!! You know your back in the south when you walk through the door and they tell you, "ya'all help yourself to a drink". You gotta love it!
Ribeye sandwich is the best!
Great place for lunch!
Great place to eat and excellent butcher shop of Meats.
I called around to 6 different butcher shops in search of an untrimmed brisket. They we're the only ones who had it unless I wanted to drive nearly an hour and a half. When I got there to get the brisket t he actual Butcher brought out several for me to pick from and he even recommend the best one and why. (Fat was marbled all throughout really well) I left more informed then when I came in. My husband, who is the expert, said it was the best one we've ever gotten. We will b back and I'll post pics once it's done it's 24 hour dry rub marinade. Really amazing service guys! These people obviously care about what they do and put alot of love into their food. Super fast yet very personal service and they were slammed!! Update made the brisket and it was perfect! Great cut of meat!
The Choppin Block is a great place to get a meal, butchered meats, sliced deli meats and cheeses, homemade deli salads and desserts, and specialty items. I often stop in for their blue plate special or call ahead for breakfast to go. Their catering offers professional service and fantastic tasting food. They also sell Big Green Eggs!
My husband loves hole in the wall type breakfast places and this is definitely one. You know the ones - there's no frills, you eat off styrofoam plates, and the waitresses call you "sweetie". We opted for the BLT, omelette, sausage biscuit, and pancakes. Everything was good, but they definitely aren't in hurry.
Love this home town place! So nice to have a place where people still know you and treat you like a human and not a number, not to mention the stellar food!
Absolute deliciousness!! Especially the boudin balls!! A must have!!
I have had breakfast or lunch here before and they do a good job. However, if you plan to buy raw meat, the price is way too high for the quality. You can get the same quality meat at Publix or Sam's for a better price.
We were visiting from out of town and had a waiter recommend this place. It was 15 minutes out of our way, but we drove to pick up a couple of steaks any way because of all the great reviews. When we walked in the service was phenomenal and the associate was very helpful. She wrapped up 2 dry aged filets for us, and we were on our way. When we got to the register the young woman let us know that it was a possibility that the credit card machine may not work and that we may have to go to the ATM to get cash. I told her that we would be happy to do that if the owner would take care of the ATM surcharge. The associate called the owner, and the owner said absolutely NOT. My experience with this establishment was not with the associates, but with the owner. The credit card machine was down and obviously that was my fault and not the owners. In my opinion, as a business owner myself, I would rather break even and keep my customer happy vs pissing off a customer. I'm sure this is not normal, but in this case I would have done anything to keep a customer happy. I will slaughter and dry age my own cow before I ever enter this establishment again. Thanks a lot to the terrible business owner!!!
My only concern is when handling customers food in my instance I got a pork chop one morning and wanted it deboned well they did just what I have ask but when pulling the meat off the bone the lady wasn't wearing any gloves. Now that brought a concern to me being that she just rang up another customer before taking my order. I love this place great food I just wish they would change the policy and start wearing gloves.it would really make customer feel at ease a little more. Other than that they would have been rated a five star!!
Not bad, the menu isn't very clear on what you're ordering. Limited seating with a very nice staff. We went in expecting a butcher shop, didn't expect a small table service inside.
Delicious food and the friendliest staff ever!
Went there about 15 minutes ago, first time there and me and my wife and child stood there a few minutes, nobody said anything to us and we weren't sure what to do. And then a lady walks in and a worker goes right to her asking her how she can help her while ignoring us. Finally another worker asks us if we need help , upset we just tell her we change our minds and leave. If my wife would have been white instead of Mexican I'm sure they would have helped us. Never will this place get my money.
I had the veggie omelet with coffee and a biscuit. The veggies were so fresh I suspect that there might just be a secret garden out back. Mom had the Western omlete and cleaned her plate. We will be back.
Awesome!
Good people great food and quick service
Great place to eat! Just small inside but food was great and their staff is very friendly.
Burger Wars In my quest to find the best burgers in Clarksville, TN, I've sunk my teeth into a new find, The Choppin' Block. This is not only a butcher shop but a small restaurant that provides catering services. According to the owner, they celebrated their 10th anniversary in December. She was proud to say that the desserts, salads and salsa are homemade. They are well known for their rib-eye steak sandwiches and twice baked potatoes. Brhett is one of the friendliest waitresses with a generous smile. She took my order of which I kept simple; a cheeseburger with everything, French fries and a drink to make my meal a combo. I do not exaggerate when I say the meat was tender, juicy and the taste unbelievable. Even the bun was soft creating one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. The crinkle fries were thick and hot. To top it off, the prices were just right. The food is so good that I’m already planning my next meal. They offer daily specials as well as breakfast that starts at 6 in the morning. The Choppin’ Block is also a distributor of the Big Green Egg, a barbecue and cooking product. Overall: Fresh meat, great prices and service makes this a favorite to return to more than one once.
If you want some good meat in and around your mouth, you need to get here immediately! The people are really nice and the food is excellent! You can't beat their meat!
Best Lunch in Clarksville
Wonderful place to eat and we buy our weekly meats here. I won't shop for meats anywhere else!
Excellent omelette! Service was superb!
Never had a bad issue. Only flaw is it gets crowded at lunch time. But that's to be expected.
Amazing food, great selection of meats, and great prices.
We got our food to go. It was actually pretty good. I got the rib eye sandwich. It tasted good. The fries were just fries. They forgot the cheese on my husband's sandwich, but the bologna was really good. Their fresh meats looked really good.... but pricey. The people are very nice. It's a good place to eat.
Great people, great food. Highly recommend.
Great selection! Super reasonably priced meats and great quality. The staff made us feel at home! I would recommend this place to anybody in town
EASILY within the top 5 best burgers I’ve ever had. Maybe top 3 even. Nice people, great service, awesome food and meat.
A Great place to eat or get cut meat. Great and friendly staff.
Good for fresh meat. Ordered the Reuben it was very good. The crab ettouefee was to spicy for me they said it wasn't that spicy but it was and they took it off my bill. Also bought 2 ribeye steaks, 3 packs of smoked sausage, 2 strip steaks. And of course fresh baked cobbler and chess pie. Try this place at least once you might like it.
Fresh meat cuts / Mondays Creole Meal
Great selection of meats and deli items. Also has great prices on meals they offer in-house that are delicious. Highly recommend!
The food and service are always great
I'm from Michigan and visited friends in Clarksville over the weekend. My friends know I'm a big fan of southern pimento cheese. Having heard from locals that The Choppin' Block makes the best they bought me two containers full that were presented upon my arrival.
They call this gyro??? Meat was dried out and 1 pack of mayo for the fries... I have one star bc the fries are actually great.. but again the gyros...so disappointed!!!
Was just at a ceremony at northwest highschool.. they catered worst food I've had tasteless 1little piece of meat dry no flavor.. I've done alot of catering myself and would have been embarrassed.. also the woman serving needs a lesson on customer service
Grade A+ Meats Great service wonderful southern cooking.
Absolutely fantastic food and even better (if that's possible!) service. I had the pleasure of eating here while visiting friends in Clarksville, and then contacted The Choppin' Block to have a meal catered for those friends following a family emergency. They went above and beyond to make everything perfect, a true reminder of all the positives small businesses can embody. Their peach cobbler is just a bonus!
The catering is A+++. I was lucky enough for the Choppin' Block to cater my wedding reception in November 2016. I wanted a home-style buffet which included grilled chicken breast, mac & cheese, loaded potato casserole and green beans. Everything was fantastic! We loved the food. The staff was great also! Very helpful and pleasant. The prices were very reasonable and included set-up and clean-up and serving. I would say this is the best place for catering.
Horribly overpriced, meat isn't that great of a cut, staff walk around like zombies.
I don't understand why this place doesn't have five stars on Google. I love The Chopping Block and it's unexpired meat.
Awesome breakfast at an awesome price!
Went in to the store today after seeing that they started selling boudin and boudin balls (a rare treat I only get when I visit family in Baton Rouge) after getting in a new Butcher that says she’s from Louisiana. I saw what I wanted and inquired as to the price, $9.99/LB!!!! I had to ask again to make sure I heard the lady behind the counter right. She replied with a little bit of offense that I had questioned the price. I said that I was expecting something a little less, around the $4-$5/LB price range seeing as how boudin is nothing more than pork, vegetables, seasoning, and rice as a filler (5cups uncooked rice/23lbs meat *John Folse). Her immediate reply with a little bit of attitude was that “there’s pork butt and lots of other good stuff in them” like it was some mystery to me as to what’s in boudin. This is a little ridiculous seeing as how their Andouille sausage, which is all meat and smoked, is selling for less @ $6.99/LB. The only thing I can figure is that they expect people to not know exactly what boudin is and pay the price for a new novelty food that “comes from Louisiana.” Shame that someone from Louisiana is allowing this to sell for that amount seeing as how pork boudin sells for around $4/lb if not less, Crawfish and Crab&Shrimp boudin is only $6/LB, and the balls sell for around $5 for a dozen at Tony’s in Baton Rouge. Guess I won’t be going back there looking for my Cajun food fix any time soon unless the price comes down. I understand that they can charge what they want for their product but I find that it is more highway robbery than anything to charge $9.99/LB for something that is mostly rice. It’s a shame that this has happened because I used to go in often for other specialty products but this experience has left me feeling cheated, guess this is not one of the “great reviews” you’ve gotten on the new product.
Fast, friendly, CHEAP, and delicious! One of the best places to eat in Clarksville. You can literally get a made to order ribeye sandwich for cheaper than what a ribeye costs in the grocery store. Amazing! Highly recommended!
This place is top notch. Went in for the first time today and was very impressed. The staff, food and atmosphere were nice. A very good looking selection of meats. What more could you ask for? I ordered the daily special which was schnitzel. I paired it with Mac & cheese, fires and a sweet tea. It was a delight.
Great food, great service and great coffee. Everything was reasonably priced, fresh and delicious.
Excellent service and meats! I love this place
Always love getting my grilling food here!! They have the best steaks & meat, plus advice & supplies for using my green egg any time I need it. They also have lots of yummy food to go with my grilled meat, especially the twice baked potatoes and the broccoli salad!!!
The staff is welcoming, the atmosphere is homey. The food is great, everyone should stop by, believe me you won't forget your experience. " They'll probably make you feel like family.
Excellent, will be back
warm, family style environment. TRY EVERYTHING. This is good home cooked food so EVERYTHING is delicious. Fast service and just a loving environment. Top 5 best eatery in town :-)
Love this place, super friendly staff and the food is amazing! Two thumbs up
Had the smoked ribeye sandwich and it was the best one I've had from that. They've stepped up their game.
We kind of where a large party from Tampa,Florida. They did a fantastic job accommodating us very short notice.Very pleased with staff and food was very reasonably priced for portion size.Highly recommend stopping here.
I was in the other day and purchased 2 of the stuffed pork chops / unknown to myself the BLOCK has 2 types of stuffing. To my surprise when I bit into one of the chops I was just beyond myself expecting to be greeted by a mouthful of pork & fruity bliss I was treated to a corn bread stuffing that left me a bit wanting more and confused. Today I called the BLOCK and spoke with a staff member that was all about her customer service, when I asked about the old stuffing she informed me that the Choppin BLOCK has 2 types and she was sorry for the mix up, she would credit me for 2 of the fruit stuffed chops and place a posting on the butcher board for me. Simply put this was my error. Not knowing something doesn't automatically make it the proprietors fault, but she took it upon herself as if it were. I am truly a customer of this establishment for the rest of my stay in Clarksville. Let me now elaborate on the food they sell this stuff called Cowboy Caviar / (I call it redneck caviar) O.M.G. OUTSTANDING..... THE STUFFED CHOPS ( both types of stuffing are to die 4). The patattoe salad is great. The stuffed porta-bello caps are great on the George Foreman. The chicken salad, (Waldorf salad) is great. Although I have renamed their entire menu this place gets 4 & 3/4stars. TRULY one of "CLARKSVILLE ' BESTS" spots on the map.
The food was awesome. Waitress with the bob haircut was horrid.
Came here today to buy a steak for my husband bc it’s his birthday and Wow talk about terrible customer service. The lady (larger woman with very short bleached hair) talked to me like I was a complete idiot. Ive never been here before and honestly would not have bought anything from here if it wasn’t my husbands birthday and the fact that he loves this place.
Love this place. Food is great. Just a down home spot that will make you want to be a regular!
