Place has gone downhill. There was a time when I made a point to go here instead of the chain groceries nearby. I was in there today to get ribs, burger and bacon for some holiday weekend cooking. First there was one rack of ribs in the cooler so I go to the butcher window to ask for another and am told all they had were frozen ribs to which I said cool, can you sell them to me anyway? He reluctantly went to the back and got a rack and brought them to me, not frozen at all, just too lazy to help the customer. I then asked if he could grind the pack of bacon in my hand as I had planned to mix it with the ground sirloin to make some awesome blended bacon burgers. He refused to do it telling me he would have to clean off the meat grinder when he was done. He then said don’t you have something to grind it with yourself and rolled his eyes! I replied that if I did I wouldn’t be standing here asking you! I ended up buying about $70 of meat which will be the last I buy there. Save yourself some time and go over to Publix where the meat department is excellent. If the butcher is not slammed busy, he is usually out in the meat isle asking if customers need anything. They are happy to do custom meat cuts as well. Houston’s meat is not the quality it used to be anyway, neither are the people.

Inconsistent. One week they tell me come after 530 to get ground pork. Next week they say we don’t do ground pork. Wasn’t overly impressed with what I was getting. It was good. Not great. But made a special trip to get ground pork and was turned away. Frustrating and won’t be back.

I needed a specific cut of meat and decided I had to finally drive over and check Houston out. Before I even looked for what I needed I was wowed by the fact they have a restaurant setting/menu and daily specials so we ordered lunch and it was outstanding. Great sandwiches and comfort food at great prices. When I did look for what I wanted it wasn’t readily on the shelf (5lb chuck roast) but they pulled a huge piece of meat and cut it fresh in front of me. It was also much cheaper than Kroger’s price. It is so nice to finally find a great butcher... it’s fantastic to find a butcher that also serves a fresh lunch! The people working there were all friendly and helpful.

I care for a place nearby here and I always make a stop here. Its like a sweet treat in a way for me. Kind caring people work here. Friendly and fast service! Always someone there asking if you need anything. Its like walking into your own home and you are treated like a family member! By far the best butcher shop in Mount Juliet! A MUST STOP!!!

Did not meet expectations. As others have mentioned, meat did not look fresh and beef and pork were extremely low quality. The staff scattered when I got there to not help me, and as it was my first time there, I guess it seemed suspicious that I wanted to see what all the selections were. While doing so, a couple staff members kept peeking around the corner as if I'm stealing something. I may come back and buy sausage here, but honestly they don't deserve my business.
