I purchased chicken from Antonellis about two weeks ago.I brought it home and cooked it on the grill.i used a meat thermometer like I always do to make sure it was properly cooked .Once it was done I ate it but noticed a weird tangy taste which was odd considering I only use salt and pepper when cooking my chicken.anyway 5 hours later I was sick as a dog. I ended up having to go to my local minute clinicand the doctor there told me I had food poisoning. So ultimately I got food poisoning or from poorly handled chicken sold to me by Antonellis. I will never be doing business with them again and I suggest that you buy your chicken somewhere else

I brought my organically raised birds there to be slaughtered and upon receiving the bags of meat to bring home I Immediately noticed a rotten egg smell ..in my opinion they ruined my meat probably by using dirty water to scald and process my birds and I am extremely upset and disappointed considering it took me over two months to raise them and I now have 11 chickens weighing in total about 80 pounds of meat that is unedible considering even after being cooked the meat has a rotten egg taste .. again these birds were raised on 100% organic grains and for all the birds I've ever processed myself I have never had them smell like rotten eggs before ... update. Upon closer inspection of the meat as I was throwing it out .I noticed these to be much smaller than what I had brought in so I'm now believing he took my quality organic chicken and gave me some rancid chicken he had laying around probably about to throw out himself

I brought my chickens to be processed at Antonelli's poultry company . My birds were pasture raised and fed and organic diet.walking into the facility it smelled terrible like rotten chicken.believing it was just from all the processing they were doing I went ahead and had my brids processed.an hour later I was handed bags that were not properly labeled as required by the USDA and also had a rotten egg smell emanating from them.again these were organically raised birds and it only took them one hour to process so I don't understand how they would smell like rotten eggs.I brought them Home and immediately refrigerated them but still the smell of rotten eggs was overwhelming when I would open the fridge door. I contacted Antonellis and talked to the owner Chris Morris who is extremely rude to me and unprofessional I let him know the issue with the birds and how at the very least I would appreciate a refund of the processing fee of $55 since I obviously didn't pay him to ruin my birds . His response was he's been in business for 45 years and I should have just taken them somewhere else .I stated that I understand he's been in business for that long but accidents happen and while I was still talking he hung up on me.. I would highly recommend you go somewhere else to buy chicken or have them processed as Chris Morris suggested .he clearly didn't care That he ruined over 80 pounds of chicken that took me over two months to raise that I now have to throw away .. avoid this business if you're not looking to get ripped off
