Great meat market and grocery store! Old fashioned glass cold cooler/counter where you can pick out your beef, pork, chicken, smoked sausages, etc. They also have seafood, wild game, seasonings, rubs, and marinades, plus a nice fresh veggie counter. Wheelers is a very clean market and the staff is very helpful and courteous.

Meat is always super fresh. Paula's Perfect seasoning is worth a trip to load up on. Goes on everything. Their other seasonings are not quite jamming. Marinades aren't very good either in my taste. Side items either. They have several exotic meats to try from elk, to venison, to camel, and gator. Even ostrich. Though it's frozen. Wish they had more of a fish selection. Or some turkey and frog, but grateful for the variety and thick cuts of beef. They need to stay open till 8pm instead of 6pm.

This place is just OK. I went here about a handful of times before I decided to start looking elsewhere. The reason for leaving is simply because they cut many of their steaks way too thinly and if you're buying steaks from a row with one steak on top before they have to pull the paper for the next row, they won't let you look at any of the steaks on the next row and make you buy that last steak. I mean, I understand you can't let everyone pick through every steak, but when I go into a shop to drop over $100 for a weekend BBQ, I'm gunna be picky. So, all that to say, this is an "just ok" shop. Staff is friendly enough most of the time and prices are on the high side.

Meat was super-fresh! Customer system was well-organized! The gentleman who was filling our order gave us great recommendations as to what kind of ham was the tastiest. The people here are great but the meat is best. You may find some great bargains on the limited grocery shelves, too. Occasionally they sell some beef cuts not easy to find, like picanha steak. Their marinated skirt steak makes easy, amazing fajitas. I also love the smoked arkansas bacon. Meats aren't sold soaking wet to increase the weight. Try the chuck sous vide. Comes out like prime rib. I don't like buying meat anywhere else.

My visit to Wheelers was ok. It has been better. I was however able to get a good deal on seasoning. 2 for $1.00. Is impressive. I also purchased the brisket. This was not one of the better outings. The meat was tender but the taste was bland at best. So with that said I gave them a 3 star over ratings.

My review is not related to meat quality but poor customer experience, in store. I called ahead and inquired into making a bulk order for meat over the phone and was informed I needed to come in. Upon arrival I was met by an unhappy male employee that was short and irritated in his communication. He was noticeably upset by the fact I had a large order. I even tried to explain that I had tried calling in but he didn’t care or even acknowledge most of what I had to say. The other employees ignored or looked on uncomfortably. Countless other guests came in and were helped by other employees while he was filling portions of my order. What could have took 10 minutes took over an hour.. the employee stopped using tissue paper when wrapping my expensive meats and was slamming them onto the counter in frustration. He stopped using gloves and converted to bear hands on the back table! No smiles and an unwelcoming vibe.. I even attempted to ask a manager (bald headed) individual about the special made sausages and items that they sell and he had zero interest in having any conversation with me. The environment of the store changed right as I was about to leave when processing my order because another manager arrived, possibly the owner. Perfect example of employees and management going though the motions and not “caring” for customers. Taking my $500 orders somewhere else!

I have been purchasing meat at Wheeler's for years. I will not go back. Went into Wheeler's yesterday and attempted to purchase some Porterhouse Steaks. There were three layers of Porterhouses. All of the steaks on the top layer were full of fat and gristle. I asked to see the steaks underneath. I was told they are not allowed to show the steaks underneath until they sell all the steaks on the top layer. I asked management if this was true and they confirmed it was. I was told some people want to see all the steaks available. YES, you just read this correctly. A meat market that refuses to show you the best steaks available. Translation, you will buy the poor quality steaks on the predetermined layer or nothing at all. What a shame. This used to be a great meat market.

Purchased almost $500 in beef products and did not receive the package #4 discount of 12% (noticed it when I got home to store the meat). Went back today 4/8/2018 to get a refund on my credit card and was told that the discount does not apply to "Specials" (a non-retail price). They identified which of my purchases were specials, and still no discount was applied to other "retail" purchases. I ask why no discount on the retail items, and was told that the wrappers behind the counter apply the discount to the retail price before they add up the total by weight. However, the retail price on my ticket was the same price they had displayed on the meat counter. When I pointed this out, I was told that the prices change daily and weekly and that I was mistaken about the price I saw posted at the time I purchased the meat. Sorry, but I know what the posted price was, and they simply refused to credit me for any of the 12% discount. Sad, because I was looking for a place to purchase enough beef during the year to keep my freezer stocked, it will not be Wheelers Meat Market.
