He said, 'no, we don't and we will never carry this thing' and the look on his face was terrible. I was going to tell him that I was not asking for charity!!Truly rude. Prices are generally good, but you need to know item values. If you need to buy in bulk without a membership, this is also a great option. You can find 6-10 red bell peppers for $4-5, which is cheap. Food quality is generally good.

I always have a issue at the register I feel I have to watch the screen to make sure I'm charged correctly. The staff is constantly asking how much was this because most of the items don't have barcodes. Hopefully they can eventually learn how to organize their computer systems to ring things properly instead of harassing the customers for prices.

Prices are hit and miss. Some are really good and the cheapest around. Other are on the high side. They have just about everything a restaurant and check would need. You do need to take your time and walk through out the store to see everything. Check out can be slow as well but overall it is a good place to shop for your culinary needs.

only downside to this place is the way they check your receipt after you pay for your items. it doesn't matter if they watched your whole checkout process. they must make sure you're not a thief. aggravating enough to lose 3 stars. everything else is good. great selection and prices.

Drove an hour to buy ground beef on sale here for <$3.00 per pound (it may have been <$2). It was the best beef we have had here in OK! (I cook ground beef in bulk for my family, covered in water in a large stock pot, then strain off the water, divide the meat in meal portions and season as needed). The cooking water made a delicious broth that actually jelled better than any bone broth I've ever made, and the meat was way more tasty than what I've gotten at Walmart and Aldi's.I also used some of the meat for hamburgers, and these were delicious as well.

Chef Store is a true FOODSERVICE STORE. This is a place that the restaurant all over the State go to to purchase groceries. I do mean from all over the State. If you shop at the Chef Store. You will soon grow to dislike your local retail grocery store. Food at CHEF STORE is restaurant quality and Pac size. No in many cases you DO NOT have to purchase huge quantities of food. The meats are excellent. Produce is exceptional. Dairy products are high-end at lower prices. Paper goods for just about anything you need. Restaurant equipment and supplies are plentiful. Dishes, glass ware etc. Low prices. The foods they sell are 18 to 30% less than retail grocery stores. Seriously, this is a must shop place for the Holidays. Professional grade foods. Best prices on those type foods and makes your holiday meal outshine everyone else's. Take your time and look at everything. You will not believe what you will see. amaIt's amazing. You will fall in love. You do not need a membership to save or shop there. You pay same thing the restaurants do. I believe you will fall in love with this place. I love buying my shrimp and all other seafood and meats there. It is an incredible price. Treat yourself!

We purchased a bundle of frozen fruit here for our smoothie business but all of the fruit turned out to be sour, tasteless and unusable when we tried it in our recipes. All of the fruit was extremely low quality and watered down. I explained this to the manager on the phone and she was quite courteous and said she would refund all of the fruit. When we got there her attitude changed and she said she would only take back the unopened fruit because she couldn't put the open fruit back on the shelf (which seems unsanitary to recycle returned produce). I was very dissatisfied with the company and the managers integrity and now I will be going somewhere else for all of my ingredients.

Great place. I just wish there was one on the northwest side of OKC. I would go more often. They have the breaded calimari that some restaurants they serve as appetizers. They also carry breaded oysters (the only store I've found them in). If you love to cook you need to visit "The Chef Store".

Manager handled situation very unprofessionally, we bought bulk fruit for our business and it ended up being sour, we then called and explained the situation very thoroughly and we were told that we would receive a full refund by the manager. When we arrived soon after that call the manager went back on her word and we were only given a partial refund for the fruits.

Everything here is so affordable. It's a bulk food and restaurant supply store. Kind of like Sam's Club... without the membership fee and Walmart feel. I run a nonprofit organization to feed the homeless, so the Chef Store is an awesome place to shop.

This place is amazing! They've got everything a home that eats a lot, or a food service establishment could need. My nephew is having a graduation party next week and we picked up 77 pounds of ground beef at wholesale pricing, because it's wholesale! The down side though I'd that you have to buy a rather large amount of whatever you're getting but if you stockpile food in a freezer then this is the place to do your home grocery shopping. The best part is that you get big box club pricing WITHOUT a membership fee. It's open to the public with no membership requirements. Perhaps the most memorable part of the trip was how friendly and helpful all the staff were.

Always have trouble at the register! They don't have any thing marked correctly! They lack any management! Seems like a bunch of first line employees with NO supervision! Oh, and as a restaurant owner I find it really hard to shop here because they change their products almost monthly! Example: I was purchasing raw I breaded chicken wings for my restaurant, after getting my customers hook on them... Chef store decided to do away with them! So I had to buy frozen wings from Walmart for almost a month! Then they started carrying another brand of wings; 40lbs for $75. Those were great! Now after buying those wings for 3 months, I go in today, and the price has sky rockets to $93!!! Not only that... They said my TAX exempt card wasn't good for chicken! Lol really? I'm done twitch this place!

One thing I noticed was everything seemed to be well stocked rotated and the fresh foods were fresh and the staff all had a smile. . So the atmosphere may be bustling with the promise of delicious endeavors later, but kudos to management for being able to maintain a relaxed, clean, atmosphere and a level of professionalism that keeps people coming back.

Love this place. Open to the public. Great prices on seafood. Got a lb. of crawfish tails for only $8. That'll run you twice that in a grocery store. Also got a 1 lb. can of jumbo like crab meat for $31. That's usually what you pay for 4 oz. in a grocery store! Was stoked to find out they have a store in Farmers Branch since I live in DFW. Also recommended this place to my foodie friends.

I serve at a church for the homeless (and formerly homeless) in downtown OKC, and I get a lot of my supplies from Chef'Store. As a retail outlet for restaurant supplies (without having to buy a membership card), they're the only game in town. But they've generally got just about everything, and the pricing isn't too bad. The service could be a little better, but the most annoying thing about the place is their penchant for rearranging things so you have to go search for it, or go find someone who works there--and don't expect Walmart-level service, where they go take you to find what you're looking for--you get, "I think that's on that second aisle from the end." As to the quality of what they carry, it's generally top quality. A lot of restaurants use Chef'Store as sort of a backup supply, and one I know recently ran out of mushrooms, which they use for fried mushrooms as well as on salads. The Chef'Store mushrooms were of a higher quality than what their regular supplier provides; they looked better, retained the breading better, and tasted better than their normal fried mushrooms (which is what prompted me to ask the wait staff, who passed along the story).

Lots of stuff you can't find in regular stores like tools and bulk items. Bonus because it doesn't require a subscription like Sam's for most items. I think some of the really specialty stuff requires a monthly fee but most stuff is open.

One of my favorite places to shop for things I need in bulk such as flour, sugar and cheese. I like that you do not need a membership to shop and we save so much money it's definitely worth the drive. Make sure to bring a cooler bag for meat and if you plan to buy smaller items like cheese and frozen vegetables, bring a bag. They do not readily provide free bags there.
