You will be able to see the feddbacks of people who bought the products and services of True Blue Butcher and Table (Butcher Shop) in North Carolina.
Now this business gets a score of 4.6 over 5 and that rating was based on 136 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is practically the highest, and it's founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may conclude that the score is quite reliable. If people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Butcher Shop belongs to the category of Butcher shop.
My new favorite restaurant in Wilmington. The chef and his team are amazing. From the food to the service and the decor. The options of great simple food to the gourmet items. Quality drinks with lots of variety. If you are looking for a simple meal or a fancy dinner, this is your place.
We had a great happy hour with half priced oysters, and they were delicious. The scallop mac n' cheese was flavorful and the steak frites were great! They have a great selection of cocktails and craft beer list. Perfect early dinner!
Try the Brussels sprouts. Perhaps the best I’ve had.
Saw this place a few months ago and have been wanting to try out, so I stopped in last night to celebrate my new job. I have always wanted to try Wagyu and found out they had A5 Wagyu (the best of the best) in the butcher case so I had to give it a try. After talking with Chef Bobby I decided I definitely had to try it, even though it's very expensive per oz, but well, well worth the cost. He was very factual and well informed when it came to educating me about the A5 Wagyu. Chef Bobby even made a personal appearance at my table to inform me just how special the cut of meat I would be receiving was and I was told by others how rare it was for him to visit a table, so it def made my experience extra special. As for the steak: absolutely AMAZING!! I've eaten at many high end steakhouses like Peter Luger, Morton's, Ruth's Chris, etc. but this was the most amazing steak I've ever eaten in my life. Wagyu steak melts in your mouth like butter, I didn't even need a knife. It has the most amazing, rich beef flavor I've ever tasted in a steak. I'm so ready to go back and try it again. Thanks for making my first Wagyu experience special. If you ever have the money and opportunity to try Wagyu steak, definitely go to True Blue for your first experience, you won't regret it!
Had a great dinner here. It started the moment we were greeted by Joel and continued through the evening. Julia anticipated our every need and we never had to ask for a thing. Julia made us feel like we were her only table and expertly handled our personalities. Her wine and steak recommendations were perfect. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and if you're lucky enough to get Julia I guarantee you'll have a great visit.
We decided to try this place out as it was recommended by several people. Our server Robert was very helpful early on in our ordering and prep, but then things took a turn. Our beverages were not refilled. We had to ask for a refill. My wife got the chicken and she said it was excellent. I got the Steak Frites and asked for it medium well. When it arrived at the table it was rare. I asked for it to be for it to be redone. They took it back and made it medium well. We are now at an hour, my wife is done and my steak is not back yet. I got my steak and it was delicious. But it took over an hour to get it. Our server checked on us rarely. But the table behind us had their server there every 10 mins. Maybe because there was 2 of us and 8 of them. We asked for desert to go and the response we go was " I'm sorry are things a little slow" we responded yes and we needed to leave. 10 minutes later we got the desert on a plate from another server. I replied we asked for this togo. His answer was "Well that is easy". This server took the desert back and they went to clean several tables. I thought this was easy? 10 minutes later we had the desert in a togo box and the check. We should of had our desert and check in less than 5 minutes after that. Very poor service overall. They have no concept of time. Even after I told him that yes things were a little slow and we needed to go we felt like our service got slower. I got a steak because Robert said they were known for their steaks. They couldn't even cook mine correctly. He also spent a lot to time at the computer. and every time we needed to flag him down that is where he was with his back to us. This place seemed like a French cafe and considering our treatment and service I would say that they are right on par with the French concept. We were not impressed and will not be back.
Amazing food and even better service! We really love this place. We’re always impressed by the food, the presentation, the service, menu selections, the pretty artwork, etc. We have been here a few times and always look forward to coming back. The salmon was my fav dish this time.
Got an awesome cut of meat today! Bobby trimmed a perfect Steak Picanha for me that I took home and it was great. The ability to go in and get cuts of meat that you don't find in the supermarket from someone who knows what they're doing is awesome. Go here to get your meat!
Stopped in for date night. Was seated immediately. Waiter was very prompt to take our drink order of 2 waters. 10 minutes passed ,no drinks. Our waiter passed our table several times without so much as a glance. After a few more minutes, we decided to leave. I stopped to speak with the manager on our way out, he said, he thought there was an issue. I am confused, ithe manager knew there was an issue, but did not think to approach the table and try to address and correct the issue. He did offer to take care of the problem when I told him we were leaving. Too little too late. This is probably the reason that the OC, just a couple of doors down had a wait and True Blue had open tables. Having eaten at True Blue in the past with no issues, Im sorry to say you have lost a customer and I will spread the word on how we were treated.
The food here is amazing! Smoked wings, burger, pastrami, everything! Very good!
We tried this new restaurant on a Thursday night and waited over 90 minutes for a table. The cocktails we got from the bar were good. The food was good, I really enjoyed the wagu beef. We ordered a crab cake which had been recommended and good but not as outstanding as we had been told. Sadly the cinnamon roll dessert was sold out so we didn’t try anything from the dessert menu.
FANTASTIC brunch. Great staff food was amazing.
I've been a couple of times for lunch now. The food is absolutely delicious and well priced for the quality you're getting, plus they have an excellent liquor/bar selection. As a former butcher, it's great seeing a restaurant with their own butcher shop so you know you're getting fresh cut meats for your meal, plus you can buy anything cut to order to take home. My new favorite restaurant in Wilmington. Will definitely be back for dinner.
Went here for Valentines day and came out with a very happy tummy. The bread and butter appetizer was unbelievable as well as our main dishes. Good portion sizes too with great flavor which is a rare combo.
I've never had a more flavorful burger in my life
Very good food. I had the Hot Pot and the soup of the day salmon chowder. OMG!
The second I walked through the door it hit me. True Blue might be the best establishment I this solar system. The bbq biscuit (got 2) coupled with maybe the most interesting man in the world equals success.
Our first visit to True Blue and we weren’t disappointed. From the friendly greeting when we entered and the great service, and the food, we were impressed with the entire experience. We loved it and will definitely be back, probably sooner rather than later. PS: if you like oysters on the half shell, theirs are among the highest quality you will find.
First visit in Pembroke's old space (good riddance). The steak and fried Brussels sprouts appetizer is a must try. The wagyu steak was flavorful and the cowboy ribeye was expertly charred but contained a piece of rib membrane. The service was excellent. Will be back.
Fantastic. Creative menu and delicious burgers and more. Great bar, pleasant atmosphere. Very happy we discovered this gem. Highly recommend.
Ordered a massive tomahawk steak (rare) for my birthday. It was seriously the best steak ive had in wilmington and in my life. Perfectly cooked, highly reccomend.
This place was an amazing experience. Love the atmosphere and how knowledgeable the staff was of the food. The steak was so fresh and you can get a bigger steak for cheaper than a god quality one at ruths chris or port city chop house! Plus the charcuterie and oysters were top notch. Def. a place where you treat yourself but perfect for date nights.
One of the best dining experiences to be had in Wilmington!
The food and drinks were delicious but overpriced. The dessert was not good but they compt it. The creme brulee sugar was perfectly bruleed but the custard underneath was frozen. The cinnamon roll was as tough as shoe leather. We will probably go back but go elsewhere for dessert.
First time visit tonight and won't be the last. Tip: Open table reservation system/platform not compatible w/ restaurant system..so don't use it. MORE IMPORTANTLY: we are HAPPILY miserably full and had a very enjoyable evening. Lisa L., our server, was great. Just our speed and easy going. We will be doing our best to request being placed at her table whenever we go. The Irish sour was just right. Interested in trying the Sunday Family dinner (aka supper) with friends. Give the place a whirl....you might find it's just the ticket...
Best Brunch in town!
This is a great foodie place. Their dishes are awash in a multitude of flavors. I had by far the best steak I’ve ever had in my life
The food here was very good. Portions are huge. Service was friendly and good but not great. The prices are slightly high but not outrageous. The reason for the three star review is because the air conditioning was not working and it was incredibly hot making it impossible to enjoy the meal. Hopefully next time will be better.
Great food and atmosphere.
An incredible restaurant. Arguably the best in Wilmington!
Wonderful lunch today as usual. Our waiter, Will, went above and beyond. My steak was tender and cooked to perfection. Can't recommend the brussel sprouts enough. And 'dem cheeseburgers!!! Warm atmosphere and good table placement for private conversation. Great service. Keep up the good work!
Awesome place to meet some friends for LUNCH! Great lunch menu and dinner items! Their BURGERS ARE DELICIOUS!
This restaurant is exceptional. From the food to the service. They accommodated our party of 6 without reservations. And treated us like royalty.
Went for lunch, food was very salty. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger and daily melt.
Mate, If your looking for great steaks from an awesome place, please just try it. Make up your own mind. Any questions just ask.
Four of us enjoyed a great Sunday brunch here. The drinks were great, and the meals were outstanding. We also took home a tomahawk steak from the butcher counter to grill at home. All around, wonderful service and glad to have a legit butcher so close by.
Besides the food being excellent, try the butchery. I ordered a rib roast to go. It was by far the best i've ever cooked. Didn't even need a knife. None of that fatty outer layer. Trimmed to perfection. Moist, flavorful, a total crowd pleaser! WOW
Small simple menu, but complex and unusual dishes. Excellent service. Prices are on the up side, but reasonable for the fine quality.
Chef Bobby and the staff are all greatly welcoming and attentive. The dining room is collected and chic, the plating is lyrical, and the food is refined and pleasing to the taste. Butcher to Table experience, it is.
Great food and service !! Little $$$
The food was great. I wish I knew this place earlier. I went there on my last night in Wilmington.
Great food at reasonable prices. The portions are well thought out.
I recently purchased a 5-rib roast beef from your butcher shop for a dinner party I was having. It was excellent. Your butcher trimmed the meat just as I requested and gave me instructions as to how to cook it to perfection. The quality of the meat was as good as I've ever had. It was enjoyed with rave reviews by all. M. Brady
Great food and fantastic service! The chef was both incredibly knowledgeable and customer friendly. Wonderful experience, and we will return every time we are in Wilmington.
Loved the food, excellent service, we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back soon.
Great food and great service
We had a delicious dinner at True Blue. The cauliflower souffle was a great choice, one of us had it as an appetizer and another as a side dish. The crab cake was was all crab and of course all the meats were excellent. The Scallop Ramen bowl was unique and a perfect blend of flavors. This would have been a 5 star rating if True Blue would have served bread. Bread is on the menu for $5. True Blue is a true dining experience, and to charge for bread at their level of menu pricing quite honestly feels cheap. The bread they are selling is a a more special type that they must make in house. It may be reasonable to leave it on the menu while serving a more plain variety to those of us who enjoy a piece of bread with our salad or at the end of the meal with the remaining delicious sauce that remains on the plate. If you are looking for a really nice meal this is a good choice.
Finally went to True Blue for dinner tonight and it did not disappoint! As soon as you open the doors it is very welcoming and has such a great layout. Our server Matt was super friendly and informative. We ordered some beers and a bunch of small plates to share and also their $5 smash burger. Food was incredible! Cannot wait to go back. Definitely plan to come here often!!
not gonna work. gave it a try though
Beef and Brussels for the win! We’ve been several times for dinner and brunch and will certainly be going back for more.
On Sunday night (Jan. 27th) we came in to celebrate my husband's birthday with a few friends. I want to start off by saying the food was absolutely delicious! The service however, was less than par. Our waiter (Joel) took about 15 minutes to bring waters and another 20 minutes to bring drinks. He was bad mouthing the new female bartender when he brought the drinks which I found this to be unprofessional. Throughout the ordering process he was very pushy and persistently tried to "up-sell" thru the use of shame tactics. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience for all guests. The server made several people feel awkward with his forwardness. Drink and water refills continued to be inexplicably slow for the remainder of the experience. As we finished our meal a few guests ordered another glass of wine. After waiting another 20 minutes we decided to cancel the order to which the waiter's reaction was unnecessarily short and rude. It was very disappointing to spend nearly $200 on a dinner for my husband and I only receive this kind of service. Everyone left feeling as if we were in the wrong. This was the first visit to your restaurant for all six member of our party and we were not the only two diners to feel this way. After much consideration I decided to email True Blue about our experience and never heard back. I do not recommend this restaurant due to the lack of service and response.
This is an amazing restaurant with incredible service. Even the vegetarian options will knock your socks off, which is especially impressive for a place that prides itself on being a butcher. If you haven’t been to true blue yet, you need to go right now.
New favorite lunch spot! We dined here for a nice Valentines Day lunch and were very impressed with everything. While saddened to learn that Pembrokes was not longer at this location, True Blue Butcher is as good, if not better. Looking forward to stopping in for dinner sometime soon, and maybe even for Sunday brunch. We had the Daily HotPot and Daily Melt and would highly recommend both dishes to anyone non vegan. Incredible food - well done Chef Zimmerman.
I have always been very impressed with the superb quality of the food, butcher’s counter, and the service. We love getting fresh steaks and deli meats to go from the butcher’s counter. Dining in has also become a pastime of ours. The charcuterie boards always have something new to try on them and the entrees always have such great attention to details. Smokey chicken wings at the bar deserve an honorable mention, too. We will definitely continue to give them our business and hopefully will see them a lot more this coming summer.
Short wait to get a table and the Pork Chop and grits were amazing. My group was a little taken aback by the portion sizes of their meals, and the menu explains the portion sizes, so I guess it could be bit confusing. The wait staff was attentive and responsive, our mixed drinks were good, and the quality of the food was on point. First time visiting this establishment and we will be dining here again!
Food was amazing, will be going back for sure!
Food is wonderful, wine is smooth and flavorful, service was exceptional!
TBB&T is a great addition to the Wilmington dining scene. Our party of 4 visited this evening. Service is crisp and knowledgeable without being annoying/overbearing. The restaurant has a pleasant ambience in a chic casual way. The beer/wine/cocktail list is interesting albeit on the smaller side. The food is excellent....top notch ingredients that are prepared and plated well. Our group of 4 had herb salad...very fresh greens finished with a refreshing, almost " gastriquey " dressing. Steak was flavorful, tender and cooked expertly. Potato puree was creamy, satisfying and well seasoned. Charred scallions added a nice kick. Scottish Salmon with curried beans, bok choy and carrot broth was composed perfectly, the unique spices complementing the creamy salmon. The lime yogurt dollop atop the salmon paired well with the spices. A perfect plate in all regards. Try it! Our server Holly was knowledgeable and pleasant. Stop by the butcher case for drool worthy glimpses of beautiful meats and cheeses. TBB&T is definitely worth a try....you will be pleased .
The food was out of this world, and I have been in the restaurant business for years. Our server, Kira, would get 10 stars too! Do not miss the opportunity, if you are within an hours drive - worth every moment!
I give one star due to the very pretty yet, extremely rude, blonde bartender. The food was excellent, the service was HORRIBLE. She charged us for drinks we did not order ( martinis ) and was very upset when we questioned her very minimal pour of our $14 a glass Cabernet. She was rude after that the remainder of our experience. We asked if the owner or manager was available and she stated " he is not" . No manager on duty eh? Doubt that. The next morning, we saw our bank account had a hold on a $50 authorization. After spending over $80, we were very confused as to what this was for....must have been the martinis we NEVER ordered. It fell off in 3 days but what type of restaurant does that? Holds funds for an unauthorized tab? Plenty of other places to get a great meal in this town. Too bad the bartender has made it clear we were not welcome there and therefore, we will not be returning.
Decided to try this place out for my 40th Birthday & it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was beautiful, but even more importantly the food was amazing! We had a party of 6 & we all ordered something different. Everything we had was amazing. The food is very fresh & made from scratch. We will definitely be back! I highly recommend you try this place if you live near or visiting the Wilmington area.
Exceptional dining experience! Fabulous crab cakes, caeser salad, pecan pie. Everyone loved their food! The service was amazing! I highly recommend!
Service was alright. Had to ask for a few things a clue of times and the waiter forgot some of our order.it was very busy and not a big deal Quality of meat was outstanding Very interesting set up, their menu is nice, you can also pick a cut from their butcher shop which is a very cool feature. My step father and I went on a Monday, if was burger night. 5 dollars for a hamburger, it was crazy how many burgers were served, being it is a steak house. They also has half off oysters this day too. We both had steak frites. It was good and a perfect portion size of steak. Not too big and was about 4 oz. A plus is, they have fresh and raw anchovies. I haven't been able to find these for years, so I had a few bowls to snack on. I will come back and do recommend you to try it
I travel for work and stop by many bars for a quick bite after the day is over. This place is great. There is a man, I’m sorry there is, THE MAN. His name is Ryan and he works at the bar. He made a fantastic Manhattan and great conversation. Get the BBQ sandwich. It’s dank.
Had some lunch with the wife while running errands in Wilmington. First time patrons. Soup was delicious. The wife stated her chicken salad sandwich was one of the best she has ever had. Waiter attentive and friendly. Tea and water glasses never got empty. Restaurant very clean and not too noisy. Restrooms clean. Price was dead on. Docking one star until I try the rest of the menu. Will definitely dine here again.
I love reading reviews but never leave one. I must leave a review for this restraunt and the superb service. I must say the flavors of each dish I tried were above excellent (trying 3 dishes w/family) and the personal attentive service left us feeling very special, when that may not be the case in this tough life today. We were honored to be graced w/ the Manager Caitlin on numerous occasions and the hostess and host at the door were most inviting. The waiter for our table guided us to the perfect fit for most excellent entrees. I have to say, this is probably the best food and service I have ever received. This would be a great place for a romantic evening. Advice: go early. It is worth it!
Knowlegeable staff, unique mixed drinks, and delicious spins on classic dishes!
Love this for my Sunday brunch after church.
My husband and I had brunch here for the first time today. It was simply amazing! The food was great and the service was equally as great. I can not wait to return!
Brunch! Went there for brunch on a Sunday. Fantastic food and service without being too crowded or having a long wait. And they have this awesome Mimosa special - 3 for $8. Theres a big bar with some TVs playing sports. It's also a butcher shop so they have some amazing looking cuts of meet. Finally, I saw (but haven't tried) a killer hamburger deal on Wednesdays. Definitely recommend trying this place out.
Great burger and atmosphere, will definitely be back!
NO FOR SERVICE ! ABSOLUTE YES FOR FOOD! Good news is, the staff can be improved and with already good food, that should be easy . My card was charged twice for dinner but my bank is rectifying that . Pay better attention and don’t text while working !!!
Great service, amazing steak! Will be back.
The crab cakes were phenomenal. Pure crab meat ! Absolutely fantastic Very pleasant staff
Excellent food and great atmosphere
Absolutely outstanding, service, atmosphere and food....
Great food, Chef Bobby knows how to get down. This place is getting better with time. They accommodated our early dinner request and gave us first class service to go along with it.
My first visit here and I was impressed overall with venue, food, drink selection and atmosphere. The occasion was a combination of a UNCW graduation, Christmas family dinner and Holiday celebration. The only downside of the experience was the place was overbooked, overcrowded and our male waiter got argumentative with our table guests when he brought the wrong food and blamed us for ordering something totally different. This upset our entire table and evening. The bill was over $500 but service was not worth it. We will not return to this venue in Wilmington. We filed a complaint by there has been no response as of yet. ($ad face)
Brunch at True Blue has become one of my favorites in town. Everything is fresh, interesting and delicious. I keep ordering something different every time and so far everything is a favorite. The burrata in this pic was to die for. The staff is top notch and always goes above and beyond.
This was absolutely the best dinner I have ever had!! All the flavors, textures and sauces were paired perfectly!! From the very front of the restaurant with the hostess, the waiter was impeccable and very knowledgeable fabulous to the chef who came to our table made us feel like royalty. Caitlin the restaurant manager was precious and very attentive. I can’t say enough about this restaurant!! Will come here every time I’m in Wilmington and PLEASE open one in Raleigh. I will tell everyone I know about your amazing restaurant!!!! 10 stars if I could!
Top notch! Need a reservation for dinner on the weekends but full service available at the bar. One of the best meals I've had in Wilmington.
Elegant yet casual with a unique and delicious menu. We loved it, and were delighted to share the warm bone marrow on toast for our appetizer, so decadent! Delicious steaks with yummy sides. This restaurant is definitely worth being in your top go to places.
Delicious crabcakes! Decadent creme brulee
Food and staff are excellent!
$8 Wednesday Burger&Brew is the best deal in town!
The food is excellent. The restaurant is clean and charming g. I loved it.
Brunch was great here! Our server gave us great reccomendations and the mimosas flight is both cheap and delicious. The restaurant is really nice. We can't wait to come back for dinner.
Love.This.Restaurant - have been coming here for a few months now, generally on Saturday or Sunday at lunchtime. I'd like to say that I've tried many dishes, but their breakfast hash is so out of this world that I keep re-ordering it. Based on the other reviews, I will have to try other dishes. Great chef!
They were very helpful, beautiful restaurant and great food!
Fabulous lunch just now. I had a delicious turkey sandwich with side of tomato soup. My wife had vegetable payaia. Very pleasant wait staff. The restaurant is known for its beef counter where you can special order the best beef in North Carolina. The owner takes great pride (rightly so) in providing the absolute finest choices of beef steaks. Conveniently located in the Forum, across the street from Mayfaire in Wilmington’s best shopping and dining area.
