I'm a plumber and stay busy I called the Lexington store on North lake drive where I used to buy meats which I thought were over priced compared to their competition .any I told the worker on the phone I needed some soup bones and I specified Marrow bone three times also I said I wanted cut in 1inch pieces I told him I would stop by and pick them up I specified please have them ready for me because I was out doing ready i should have leservice calls and don't have time to wait for them to be cut up.he said no problem it would be ready when I got there and asked for the bones he said they were not I should have left then but I waited the 30 minutes it took him anyway I told them over and over I wanted Marrow bone when I got the bones which where 2 bones I didn't see any Marrow he stated it's because the are frozen so behind on my one work now I believe d him and paid them 26.00 for fiber bones which I found out after thawing I wanted these for my dogs I feel ripped e or thoff I could feed them steak for less I went to caughmans meat plant in Lexington got Marrow for a third of what they charged me and got what and how I asked for it

The friendliest staff in town!! Everyone is always very inviting, and helpful! ! The meat and other products are delicious. The last time I was there I purchased filet mignon by the pound. They were the most tender and delicious filets I have ever eaten.

My husband and I normally go to the one in Lexington. I just left out of there and the young lady at the register was extremely pleasant and nice to everyone in front of me. I was the only African American in the store at the time. As soon as I come to the register she just grabs my meat, rings it up and reaches for my card. I said Hello to you too. She said nothing back. I will no longer go here. I felt like I was dealing with a racist. So they won’t get anymore of my money. Visited 3/9/19 @2:15pm

For lunch today I went through Sonic for a cheeseburger combo -total $8 Then I came here to get filet mignon for dinner - total $7.50! The steak with Pirates gold melts in your mouth! I'm not going back to Outback and pay $29 for same cut or spend $8 on crappy burger I'm just going to come here and it steak!

Feel free to go in here if you want to be closely watched and rushed. I was probably in the tiny store for less than 5 minutes and wanted to look around at what they had to offer although I was there for one specific thing. I was asked if I needed help and I said I was just looking. I saw another black woman in the store approached in a similar way as she looked. The colorful haired clerk behind the meat case walked up to my husband and I and stared at us while we were discussing what we might want to buy. I was uncomfortable and left without purchasing anything. I’m not sure if they need better sales tactics or diversity training. Old Timey Meat Market indeed. I won’t be going back.

I used to frequent Ole Timey, but I am not happy with their prices going up and up not in relation to meat prices at other places. I still like them for some of their unique items, but these days I'd rather just patronize some of the local grocery stores who's meat tastes as fresh and at a fraction of the cost. The last time I visited was two visits a day apart. In that one day, $2.00 was added per pound to a certain cut of meat. I left and bought the same cut at literally almost half this new price. The meat I saw on day #2 was the SAME meat that was there on day #1. I will give them praise on their customer service, variety of meats, and cleanliness, but for me it is just not worth the extra cash. To each their own.

I have shopped at Ole Timey for over 30 years. They offer all types of meat, but they excel when it comes to the quality of their beef. You can tell the difference in the taste from Ole Timey versus any grocery store. Their ground beef is ground on site, not packaged hundreds of miles away and sealed to fake product freshness (sorry, Walmart). The filets are tender and delicious and will save you a trip downtown (sorry, Ruth's Chris). Great place for meat!

We went there on a Friday. They were so friendly and knowledgeable! This place has all types of fresh meats, the BEST PIMENTO CHEESE ( made in store ), frozen vegetables, the Best Fresh Steak cuts, roasts, ribs, chicken, Sausage, anything you can image! They even have made in store chicken salad, egg salad! Did I say the Pimento Cheese was the Best we ever tasted? My husband used to dislike Pimento cheese until he tasted theirs theirs. After hearing good things, we decided to give this place a try. I picked up two racks of ribs—$5.99 per lb. Seemed a little expensive, but I figured it must be worth the money. Got home and found the meat green/brown with a bad odor. It was spoiled! I will never set foot inside this place again.
