Original post: happy with the packaging job, overall their freezing facility appears to be in full functioning order. Update: 500+ pound cow and only 3 small packages of the backstrap?? This is after we specifically did not get t-bones or any other cuts that would affect the this cut of meat. We are inquiring with management and I will update here... Final update: spoke with management, the first thing they said was, “we didn’t steal any of your meat”. They said that one of the reasons we got so little of the cut of meat back we were hoping for was because one of their saws broke, and they had to use a sawzall on our cow... They did not offer any compensation, or any further accommodations because of this. I’ve been told they have come under new management and it seems they are trying to get on their feet, I just wish it didn’t come at the expense of our cow or our choice cuts. Recommendation: if you want to ensure you get the full back strap, I would suggest having them pack it whole and not have them cut into servings. We are bummed out, but we will survive. I do not think we will have anything else processed here. Good luck!

Took 2 cows paper work said one cut weight was 495 only received 345 pounds of meat ....second wieght was 359 should have been about 89 pounds per quarter.... quarters actually weighed 60 to 67 pounds by their weights i am missing over 150 lbs of meat also the steaks were very disappointing some you can almost see through and is no bigger than the bottom of a coke can I will be calling them....more than likely nothing will be done and if so i won't be a return customer....edit called and the first thing they said is we didn't steal your meat if you don't like it go some where else ...well I will the reply they wrote to this review is nothing like what they told me on the phone these were young cows ......they told me it's not unusual to lose 70%of the hanging weight how is that acceptable these steaks look like they were hacked up by my 5 year old I've been raising cows 15 years and never heard of up to 70% waste off hanging weight just don't waste your money ppl go somewhere else

Very proffesional and easy experience getting my hog processed at mitchells! Very accurate with the timelines I was given and I got back more meat than I was expecting from my hog. Packaging was clearly labeled and well sealed. They were very accomodating of the specialty cuts I asked for. They even worked with me on my pickup time and allowed me to arrive early before work for pickup. I usually process my own hogs, but after my experience with Mitchell's I will definitely be letting them handle it from now on!

Helpful people. Great place to save money on meat.

Excellent service and prices. They have been processing beef and pork for me for years, and I have never had a complaint.

Mitchell's is by far the best meat processor I have ever used. Given I have lived in four states and used multiple processors in all but North Carolina, you can't beat the price, the timeliness, staff nor the product you will receive. Thanks Mr. And Mrs. Mitchell!

Mark and his team are awesome! I can drop a deer off and they will take care of everything. Very clean site and great group of people. I will never go to another deer processor, have taken several deer here and i can say this place is first rate.

Terrible cutting and packaging, you will get very little meat back. If you insist on taking animals here, get a certified weight on your animals before dropping them off and make sure that they know it so that your meat does not "disappear" while there.
