Great place to shop. I have passed by this butcher shop for many years and never stopped. I did today and was very pleased with the selection of meat, prices and friendliness of the employees. They were very helpful in assisting me with selecting my products and also in the checkout process. I live about 50 miles away, but will definitely be shopping there again when I am in the area. Next time, I will take a bigger cooler.

Edit November 28, 2018 On Nov 19, I purchased some boneless pork chops. Looking at the sticker it said Use By was the 27th. I promptly froze it. Tonite i defrosted one package. I took out the chops and each one smelled rancid. I checked the sticker and noticed it was carefully placed over another. The one it was over said Use By was Nov 23. Disgusted. Defrosting another. It also has that sneaky "cover up the real use by date" sticker. This has me doubting the freshness now! . Old review Upon walking in you will notice the smell. Remember, it's a butcher shop. The coolers are loaded with clean, fresh meat. The cube steak is phenomenal! Thick flavorful and tender! Not the thin, dry, and tasteless like at grocery stores. . The chicken breasts are comparable to the $8.99lb at Harris Teeter. . They have sidemeat! My Aunt used to have that when I was a kid! . Will be doing my meat shopping here from now on! Prices are AWESOME The butchers are super nice!

I have been going to this butcher shop for 15 years now.....The place is awesome. Why would anyone that eats meat buy it anywhere other than a butcher shop?..we are fortunate to have this place so close ...and you will NOT get fresher meats from nicer people anywhere.a 10 in my book.

Stopped in today for their air dried sausage, liver pudding, cracklins and old time wheel cheese. Picked up several other items too. Always have to make a stop when up that way! Sometimes it's a special trip just for their sausage and bacon! Been going there 25 years or more!

I live in Winston-Salem but make several trips to the coast to fish. My truck knows the way to the Butcher Shop b/c i absolutely love their smoked sausage!
