Excellent small family-owned butcher shop. The way meat selling is supposed to be. Butchers who know meats with great service. Also sell burgers and sandwiches to eat-in or take out. Best burgers anywhere and excellent vanilla shake. Love it.

Excellent brisket sandwich, pastrami sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, French fries,... Don't miss the Brussels sprouts with pancetta. A little expensive for a cash-only place, but they have an ATM.

It’s not mentioned anywhere so watch out: It's cash only!!! There is an atm inside the restaurant but you will be charged an additional fee. So I'm taking off a star for this. another star off for the wannabe funny/rude butcher. As for the food, my burger was indeed fresh but I like my bread also warm, which was not the case. Would I go there again? Probably not.

Excellent burger — excellent beef cooked as ordered (we had rare, medium rare, and medium, all nicely seared and perfectly cooked), good fries, good sprouts and pancetta, good beer. What's not to like?

Stopped in to get popovers and saw the delicious-looking rotisserie chickens. $13.95 seemed a bit pricey but it came with two sides so I thought I'd give it a try. Man was I disappointed! The chicken was tasteless and dry. I've had their brisket sandwiches and those are good but don't waste your money on the rotisserie chicken.

This place has been a joke since they opened. The prepared foods, the prices, the staff, the owner (ESPECIALLY THE OWNER), all a joke. Now they've reduced the size of their store to 30% of what it was, should be out of business by 2020.

The "Shatzie" burger with sautéed onions, mushrooms and bacon. Onion rings, fries and cheesecake to finish off an awesome meal. If your in Manhattan and don't eat at Shatzie's you are missing out.

Everything was delicious. Schatzie and son, Richie were very kind hosts. My burger was cooked perfectly medium rare with crisp bacon, melted cheddar and a runny egg. Sides were excellent. Belgium fries with truffle oil, Brussel sprouts in a delicious sauce with chunks of thick bacon were mouth watering. Buffalo wings were another homerun. Then the cowboy ribeye was for sure something to write in about. Charred on the outside with a spot on medium rare inside. Don't think I've ever had a more perfectly cooked steak. Loved this place.

The burgers here are definitely some of the best on the west side. Had a great conversation with Schatzie, who told me stories about the old days in the Bronx everybody was really friendly. Splurged on my diet and had a vanilla milkshake for dessert it was out of this world. Before I left I met his son Richie who was telling jokes with my friend really nice people old fashioned type of service and dedication to Quality my new go-to place for burgers have to try the other stuff on the menu

Couldn't have enjoyed this place more. What a great burger place, butcher, and take-away restaurant on the UWS/Manhattan Valley/Columbia area. It wasn't crowded on a Thursday night, so my girlfriend and I were able to talk with Richie a while and he was really nice, knew a lot of about the food industry in NYC, and was a pleasure to talk with. The food was outstanding. We both ordered cheeseburgers, one Schatzie's and one grass-fed, and loved them both. You could tell the meat was high-quality and that was the star. They weren't as greasy as others but still had a ton of flavor. We got the fries with rosemary and they were just a bit crispy but soft and delicious. Someone else ordered the truffle ones which smelled great. The fried Oreos though were one of the best desserts I've had, the pancake batter they use to fry made all the difference, super good! They also have a solid roster of beers, some of which are harder to find. Overall, this place is worth venturing to for a meal and I can't wait to try the rest of their menu.

If you like tasteless, bland burgers that your ancestors probably ate on the Oregon Trail, this is your place! If you like milkshakes that won't even bring street rats to the yard, order one here. If you like getting hit by a parked bike on your way to the bathroom AND toilet paper carpet, use the bathroom here.

What it lacks in creature comforts (ambience) it makes up for in local color. $13.95 gets you a burger, fries, & all the trimmings including lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Also fully functioning prime butcher shop third generation family owned.

Went to harvest fest uptown bwy.nyc no food stands had nothing for ny appetite or wallet ..then looked up and saw this inviting sign $8.95 burger w/fries special..wha could hurt??i could awesome awesome burger w fries..perfect .don't the size/shape or the looks of dah joint fool yah..this id crazy good food at crazy cool prices..Thank You Ritchie n family ..you guys made my day my stomach thanks you n my wallet is pretty vool too..smile..my friend n i walked to 72nd subwaycfrom here just to settle the tummies...
