At this moment the business has a score of 4.2 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 19 reviews.

You may have noticed that its rating is quite high, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.

Prices are ridiculous... $17/lb for 80% lean ground beef? I get this is NYC but give me a break. Do yourself a favor and go around the corner to Fleishers Butchery

Consistently delivers great quality fish.

I ordered swordfish at 4:40 PM (according to Seamless) and I am still sitting here waiting for it at 7:30. I called Seamless and they said the store simply does not answer. My advice to you is not to order via seamless or other online services from this place since there is some glitch that has left me supper-less.

If there is a Hall of fame as to markets in New York City, Mr. Leonard, well deserves the title. The label says they are in 108th years, so the establishment itself must be a part of New York history. While they serve meats from pork, chicken, and beef, including dry aged beefs (rib eye, NY, and porterhouse, don’t remember exactly but either 21 or 28 days?), in tiny space, I am only lucky enough to try their seafood, so far. But boy, let me just say their people are their best assets (If you are ever in New York City, it’s your honor to meet Mr. Leornard). A few months ago, they didn’t have king salmon, which they usually carry, and I asked why. I was told it’s because things in the market didn’t look good enough. QUALITY of service over making a short term profit is how I assume they have thrived over a century in competitive New York City. And, their king salmon from New Zealand, is the King, yes, even though those that I have tried from them are not from Alaska, they are darn good, you can tell when fats taste incredibly great. I will be happy to try their dry aged rib eye some day, and report, the richness in red color, looks too great not to!

I can not help but be impressed with Leonard's Market. Wow! Great presentation of seafood in a tight space. All of chicken are from Bill and Evan's and they have the best prime meats! I had the most unique lobster roll for $20 and their lobster's are from Maine . Fun Fact: This is a 3rd generation family business and was lucky to meet Peter Leonard as well

Great butcher but pricey.

Wow.... bought three filets as a way of "checking out" the quality of their beef. My wife and her daughter told me they were the best they'd ever had ... EVEN BETTER than the filets served at Keen's. They WERE fab. Seafood is next....

TL:DR Bought sashimi grade fish. The owner is knowledgeable and can tell you where the fish are sourced and exactly when they come in. Good prices and honest staff. Full review: The employee who cut my fish let me know when he had a piece that was a little bigger than I asked for and checked to see if that was okay before packing it. Owner/manager/proprietor is part of the family business. Apparently the place has been open since 1910 with his grandfather. Again he could tell me exactly where he sources different fish and when they came in. Top notch guy. Prices: tuna 30/lb, salmon roughly 18/lb (don't exactly remember but it was less than 20), and flounder 25/lb; all sashimi grade. Killer value compared to Roy's Fish and Sushi on 1st and 63rd where almost everything is 40/lb.

The butchers are terrible and will not take any instructions, when asked to clean fat and cut a certain way. They will NOT oblige no matter what. Just to cut one chicken they wanted me to book in advance, and they were not even busy. The gentleman at the counter is very friendly and personable. But the butchers are very curt and almost borders on being rude. I will probably not go back there.

I've been going here 25+ years. It's always good! I generally get a variety of fish. Service is always good too no matter how busy they are. Parking can be tricky if the other stores are crowded.

Nice looking stakes. Very reliable source of meat. I've been coming here since last year so far no meat problems yet.

Went there for the first time today and bought a beautiful dry aged porterhouse and some sea scallops. Everything was amazing! Very friendly and helpful staff. We will be coming back soon.

An updated old fashioned butcher and fish monger for today's consumer. They have high end roasts for your next fancy dinner party should you dare to entertain at home.

William Budinger

After trying many meat and fish markets in the UES, this place has it hands down. Some of the best meats I've ever eaten. Try their porterhouse steaks!
