I don't know why Williamsburg is segregated. You got your hipster joints, and you got your old-school Italian joints. What, hipsters don't like nice people, or reasonably-priced, really tasty food? Everything I've tried at Gennaro Meat Deli (aka Lorimer Market) has been absolutely delicious, from the pasta caprese (farfalle, fresh mozz, basil, cherry tomatoes) to the broccoli raab to the farmer's market veg and DOC (grilled chicken) sandwiches ($7-$8). Come here enough and you'll get used to the attitude: it's called "friendliness," and you'll see it a lot at non-hipster joints.

Old school Brooklyn Italian deli! I moved to Long Island years ago, nothing compares to a father and son business, where they take pride in their cooking and the way they treat the customers, just like family. Jerry is the best! Never massed produced! Great hero's and top butcher cuts of meats.You will not be disappointed!

I stop here at least once a week for the delicious breaded chicken cutlet and bowtie pasta with mozzarella. My fiance and I love the food--it feels like you are getting a nice home cooked meal. They also have great italian bread. The owner and staff are always so kind and welcoming. I love this place.

I just started a new job nearby and this has become my go-to lunch spot. The sandwiches are really good and taste fresh. I usually get the Italian or meatball sub. It's gets pretty busy around lunch time but the owner does a great job expediting the orders, and she is very friendly as well!

I had the buffalo chicken sandwhich smothered in mozzarella and blue cheese dressing. $13 for that and a soda. It was worth it though. The bread was good and crispy and fresh, the cheese was good and the chicken was perfectly cooked.

This place is a true gem. Family owned for 30 years, they serve the most delicious Italian sandwiches, roll the best meatballs and are so friendly. I call them at least twice a year for catering and they never disappoint! Thanks guys!!

Came all the way from the UK for some sandwich shop research. Was visiting Brooklyn and wanted a good sandwich. Saw this place and thought I must check it out. Got the meatball sub. AMAZING. Everything about this sandwich was delicious, meatballs was a good size, hot and tasty, cheese was delicious and the sub was soft but stone baked. And affordable! The guys working there were very friendly and the service was quick. It's more of a grab and go place but you can sit at the bench and eat. I would recommend making the trip there where ever you're staying. A really authentic and genuine experience.

When you imagine an Italian meat market in Brooklyn, you're actually picturing this place. It's exactly what it should be: amazing food and meats, and run by guys who know and love what they do. They also have the best meatballs I've ever eaten. I stopped by the other day because I wanted to make a pizza. Eddie and Jerry helped me pick out sausage and gave me advice on how to cook it. They helped me get everything I wanted, and happily gave me some samples to help me make up my mind. The prices are great, and the food is all delicious. This is my new favorite place. Do yourself a favor, and stop by this place. It's a piece of Brooklyn history.

I got the meatball sandwich, it was good, but just a bit too salty for my taste. This place seems like a really awesome deli though with some yummy looking take out items. I'll definitely be back to try some of those soon!

The iced coffee with coffee ice cubes is just delightful! Best bacon egg and cheese sandwich, sold at the Lorimer St Meat Market. This is no exaggeration. Buy it and you'll agree. The bacon is sliced off a huge slab of meat (bacon frequently sells out here). The egg is not over-cooked. I choose cheddar cheese but they carry imported Italian cheese and, of course, American. Foremost, this market sells fresh, high quality butchered meat. They move enough product that you can trust that your steak hasn't been sitting there for very long. They have a well made meatball sandwich. I typically don't like any meatballs aside from my mothers but the Lorimer St Market is pretty good. Try any cold cut sandwiches here. You'll be happy you did. This is a store/deli, there's no dining in. Get your food and wander over to Father Giorgio Triangle or two blocks further to McCarren Park and eat on a bench.

This is the best Italian hero I've ever had. Better than Meat Hook. That's not a joke. The owner was in and I asked what the best sandwich was, and he said, "Don't worry. I'll take care of you." He did not disappoint!! Go here now.

The quality of their meat is outstanding, I have gotten so many compliments on my steak and burgers because of Lorimer Market. Can't say enough nice things about them.

Staff was super friendly and recommended the rat pack, which was awesome. Heros are about nine inches and very filling. Take it to go and eat it in the park up the street. want to go back to try all the other sandwiches on the menu.
