We come to Keller's every 2 weeks and it's always a good experience. We like to buy most of out meats here. Kellers makes their own sausage as, maple pork breakfast sausage and Polish kielbasa is always in our shopping cart. We also buy pork shoulder, which they always cut for us to whatever portions we like. Their meat is grass fed and without any antibiotics, everything is pretty much organic without the organic label. Eggs are from a farm in Colorado where the chickens have free range. I highly recommend stopping by one of their two location.

The meat looked so fresh can hardly wait to get home and start up the grill. We will not buy anymore meat from the supermarket. Keller's has our meat business from here on forward.

This is the place to go for your steaks. I've never been disappointed with anything we get from here. Especially the ribeye. If you haven't been here, step away from the grocery store and try them. I promise you won't be disappointed. I will say that they are not cheap but they are worth the price. I recommend them for date night if you want to impress someone special.

The prices are expensive, but would be worth it if it was good quality. Bought lunch meat there and it was just sitting out not wrapped or anything. It was so dry it was inedible which sucks because it is not cheap. On the other hand the cheese was delicious, so I still give it 2 stars.

Keller's is THE place to purchase meat if you care about quality. The meat is raised very carefuly on a ranch in Colorado. It is all locally prepared. Animals are raised humanely and given the best food. Keller's also carries venison, elk, bison, and sometimes unusual meats such as kangaroo and ostrich. Since the animals are processed there, you can buy all the organ meats, any cut, special orders. I like giving my cats raw meat sometimes and because the meat is so fresh, this is the only place to get meat to feed raw to cats. The store also carries other unusual items, such as unusual candy, cookies, teas, sauces, rubs. There is a good deli section with a nice variety of cheese and meats. This old-world, old-school farm store is unbeatable. Meats from Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, and the Coop cannot compete with the quality here. This is the next best thing to living on the farm, raising and preparing the critters yourself.

I was looking for organic turkey to feed my dog who has heart failure. This store came recommended by two different pet stores and I heard a lot of great things about them. I guess it is a good place to get clean bones for your dogs who are healthy. I didn't see a whole lot of free range chicken, turkey or grass fed beef if any.Looking around at other grocery items I found them to be quite pricey. It's probably a great store I hear the owner is friendly.

I don't know if I have ever been to a store with friendlier and accommodating employees, than Kellers. I called twice for different fats to mix for grinding meat and each time Reese at the meat counter made sure I left with what I wanted. Not enough great things can be said about this store. Farm fresh neat selection with a great staff, you can't beat it.

The meats were okay. I was really looking for pasture-raised eggs. Instead of advertising "pasture-raised" the wording on the carton says "farm raised", and they were about $4 cheaper than pasture-raised eggs that I've bought from other stores. Naturally, I had some suspicions. So I asked the manager about them. She was quick to assure me that they were indeed from pasture-raised chickens. I took them home and I could just not buy it. They were white and quite large with light yellow yokes. Pasture-raised eggs are usually brown and smaller with rich dark yellow/orange yokes. On top of that, I asked a couple of the butchers if the meat was truly grass-fed and how I could go about verifying that. They almost smirked at me as if I was being over the top in my questioning. It was enough of a bad experience that I will not be returning. If your eggs and meat are not CERTIFIED pasture raised/grass-fed/organic, then you should have a widely available customer resource that gives credit to your claims.

This place smells like rotten meat! The only thing I ever buy there is bones for my dogs. In fact, I don't even go in there, my husband does! Prices are very high in comparison to Albertsons. The last time I went in the store, I had to hold my nose. I asked a cashier how she could stand working in the awful smell. She stated that "some people are more sensitive to certain smells."

Yahoo! A REAL butcher shop in Albuquerque. if you prefer properly cut meat as opposed to the roadkill hack jobs available in the grocery stores, Keller's is the place for you! High quality products, excellent service, pure rendered fats, specialty meats, custom cuts, everything you would expect in a decent butcher shop. Somewhat more expensive than the grocery stores but unless you're buying for a large family ultimately it's really less expensive to purchase only what you need.

We bought their Thanksgiving meal which turned out to be a GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT! Our oven wasn't working so we decided to get our meal from Kellers. Needless to say, the food ended up being trashed after our first taste. It just wasn't the same quality we were used to for Thanksgiving. We'll never order it out again. On the positive side, Keller's does offer a lot of products that are good, and which you can't find at other venues.

Considering this place is NM's premier butcher, I found most of the pre-cut meat surprisingly thin. Of course you can have them cut it thicker if you call ahead, so do. Prices are better than the competition especially considering its a small family owned and operated shop. Its lacking in the veggies though.

Went to get steaks on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Although the place was packed, it was extremely well staffed; I was in and out in 10 minutes. Even with the crowd, the store was very clean. The person behind the counter was very friendly, and took the time to cut the steaks just the way I wanted. I am extremely happy with my experience, and so excited to find a butcher that sells aged steaks Albuquerque.

As a previous employee there I can say the meat is not always fresh and we have dropped food and reused it, scratch off old expiration dates, and have lied about the cut and quality of out food numerous times! Raw and cooked food is stored next to each other in the freezers, no dates added to most products so meat is usually out for months at a time and they grind up all the Bad old meat to make their sausages and the meat in the BBQ case! Highly not recommended

Place reminds me of a little market that would be tucked away somewhere in some small town of New Hampshire. Really kinda towny with comfortable vibes. Old school customer service, meaning, they actually talk to you and are super friendly and helpful. They have a stunning variety of meat, which is always fresh. However, seafood department is kinda lacking, but nonetheless, the meat is where it's at here. Prices can be a little steep and vary from time to time, but it's not a deal breaker by any means. They also sell vitamins and weird drinks. A+

The best place to buy meat in Albuquerque. It's a little pricey, but really not that expensive (maybe 10-20% more than you'd expect to pay at Sprouts) -- and it is well worth the price difference! I've been coming here for many years and have bought roasts, steaks, chickens, and turkeys, and I've never had a bad experience. The staff is all extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. If you want something cut or prepared a certain way, just tell them! They'll run in the back and get you the exact cut that you want. It's also the only place in town you can find certain exotic meats, like buffalo, elk, ostrich, and alligator. Buffalo they always have fresh (including preparations like Buffalo osso bucco), while the others are usually only available frozen. You might be able to order these in fresh though; haven't asked. This is also a place that's run by real, local people who want to be sure that the customer is always happy. A family member one time had a bad experience with a prime rib he bought there (which, I suspect, he may have just overcooked), and he went back in and complained about it the next day. Mind you, it wasn't rotten or anything like that, and we ate the entire thing -- he just didn't think that it was of sufficient quality. They apologized profusely, asked him how they could make it right, and wound up sending him home with a new prime rib -- on the house. Try that in a chain grocery store!

Outrageous prices, their ground beef isn't what is once was, I used to buy my ground beef here exclusively evidently they got a better deal and now sell livery ground beef which used to not be that way and were perfect for tacos, well I am willing to bet they went with cheaper cuts to save money, not good, I will no longer spend my money here ever again.

QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE What has happened to their chicken? It's just falling apart before cooked, and has all these striations on top of it. Talk to your supplier keller's, they doing you dirty, and you're passing it on to me. It's a niche store. They butcher onsite, excellant for meat. Everything else, the price and service just don't justify going there. Have met the store manager multiple times, always heavily involved in a conversation usually with other employees. Will not break conversation to help customers. I understand if it's business, but then maybe there is a better place for it than the sales floor. 0 awareness.

Why buy mystery meat wrapped in plastic when you can get it directly from the butcher's case? You can also choose individual pieces instead of having to take whatever is in the package. And finally, you can get grass fed beef and buffalo and yummy cheeses and deli items. I wouldn't buy meat anywhere else.

Purchased a (frozen) half leg of lamb. My husband and I specifically asked the butcher to give us the half that didn't have bone or minimal bone. Paid over $30 for what turned out to be only 1lb 11 oz of meat. She had to cut right through a large bone and failed to tell us. Prices are exorbitant. Won't be going there again.
