It was ok. The food is very Mexico style. It's not like what I would call new mexico type, it was good but different, no a/c it's hot to sit and eat comfortable without sweating. They give you lots to eat good service. You be the judge.

Venues like this one are a large part of why I love Google Maps and its reviewers. I decided to try this place out after a trip to Carlsbad Caverns based upon the recommendation of maps users. I expected it to be good based upon the reviews I read, and I was not disappointed. We ordered fajitas and nachos, and what we received was some of the best food that I have found in the area. The meat was so good and tender, and the portions were very generous. I will visit this restaurant every time I go to Carlsbad.

Menus are in all Spanish, so if you’re not a Spanish speaking person they really don’t want you there, one small chip tin for 7 people had to ask for chips, even with ordering quest, and she would bring it with about 20 chips in it. Bought tortillas, got them home and the next day covered in MOLD! So if tortillas are bought eat them that minute. Tried to leave a tip even though she didn’t deserve one, but they wouldn't give us change. So sorry. Honestly wasn’t worth a one star!

Great authentic Mexican eats with tacos, tortas, burritos, menudo on weekends. Has a butcher shop and bakery inside. Torta was massive, amazing bread. Small grocery with minimal products. Highly recommend for a meal. Staff was super nice. Food came out quickly. No alcohol. Very cute decor.

I've lived in Carlsbad for 5 months working I've eaten in a lot of good places but this place hands down is the best place to eat by far ...the menu is very affordable and the plates and portions are HUGE and delicious! OMG! The salsa is unbelievable! They take time and pride in everything they make! I would highly recommend this place to YOU and everyone. I cant wait to go back!

This is as authentic Mexican food as you can get. Food was excellent and prices cheap. The parking lot and restraunt was packed -- always a good indicator for good food. Their barbacoa tacos were excellent, along with posole, and the Mexican version of bean soup. The roasted green hatch chili salsa appears to be homemade. This place also serves as a meat market and small grocery store so that you can make these same meals at home. Service is great and they were patient explaining all the foods to me.

Being out of town we decided to try this place out after going to the caverns. We based our decision on the ratings and the pictures posted by other patrons, everything was fine up until the moment we took the first bite, the meat had a lot of fat and tasted old. Being that the place doubles as a meat market, I feel that whatever meat doesn't sell gets sent into the kitchen before it is spoiled. The reason for the 2 starts is because their food presentation is pretty good, too bad the taste is not there to back it up.

1st time their. Took an hour to get an order of barbacoa get to hotel and what do you know, their is no barbacoa in the bag. WTH! Lol Drove back which was 10 min drive but the young lady was very nice and helped me out. It was very very oily but I guess to bad for us since I think it might be the only place that sells it here in Carlsbad. Maybe next time we will go eat their. We'll see
