I come for the reliably good unusual items like goat, rabbit and wild boar, but the sausages are also fresh and tasty and perfect texture, and the selection of cuts is too notch. Many choices for standard pork, chicken and beef, but if that's all I'm getting I usually go someplace with cheaper real estate. This place is pricey because of the location, not because they are greedy or anything. If you live near by, or need something unusual I'd suggest that this be your first stop.

This place has been around forever. If you're looking for a real butcher you'll love this place. I believe it's a family owned business that's friendly and courteous to neighbors and strangers alike. The offer all things you'd expect from a traditional butcher. Meats cut to your liking, thin or thick. And fat trimmed or meat ground, your choice. They have all manner of protein including, duck, osso buco and a very nice pork selection. Especially busy during the holidays and you can order ahead for some speciality items. Conveniently located on a corner they are handicapped accessible.

I can't think of a better butcher shop than this one in entire Manhattan. Meats are always fresh and of top quality. I've tried their steaks, lamb, pork spare ribs, chicken thighs, liver, spare bones for the broth and sausages of course. Butchers are very friendly and they make you comfortable even if you're visiting for the very first time. They listen to your demands carefully and prepare the meats exactly how you want them to be. Prices are great. There is no match for it. You can't expect any cheaper meats in the midtown area. It's a family owned shop and it's been around for a very long time. They do care about their customers. Lastly, leaving without their chicken sausages should be considered an offense. I personally have not tasted any better sausages in my life. Don't leave without chicken sausages.

This old school butcher shop is a classic neighborhood store front for locals and interested visitors. An huge carved and rutted wood block greets you as you wait in line. When you get up to order your cuts the buthchers are patient and helpful getting you exactly what you want. The prices are bit high but worth the coin for a GREAT cut of filet, tenderloin, ribeye or rare cut. Be sure to place special orders a day or two in advance. Otherwise you can be sure if a fat juicy steak is on tap for dinner you can get it here on your way home from work.

The best butcher in NYC - hands down. Esposito offers a wide selection of beef, pork, and chicken products. Leaving without some chicken sausage should be a federal offense. Steaks a excellent and can be purchased by the pound or thickness. Bacon and real Italian meat is cut to order. Prices are more than fair.

This is one of the oldest butcher shop in the city and it keeps the look on the exterior for sure. Although it is supposed by a lot of office buildings now, there is no shortage for customers. You get a ticket before you place your order. They have fresh meat of all sorts. I only got the pork sausages and ground beef here. However, they got rabbit, veal, lamb and even pig knuckles! The price is very competitive for the quality. I am coming back for more fresh meat!

I just tried their special in-house chicken apple sausage and I can safely say, without a doubt, that it was the best sausage I've ever had. It's hard to believe how lean it is, as it had a luscious rich robust flavor. The sweetness added a wonderful character and also led to a crispy caramelized skin covering a tender center. The store itself is replete with character you rarely find anymore. I will only frequent this store moving forward for my quality meat purchases.

An old-school, high-quality butcher shop on 9th Avenue. There are a wide variety meats and cuts and the staff is friendly and professional. It is a little pricey but for the quality you cannot go wrong.

I came here to purchase some steaks for Lapin. The prices are reasonable and they have a decent selection. It's a simple butcher shop but the customer service was great. The gentleman who served me was very friendly and offered a lot of recommendations. I got a rib eye steak, hot Italian sausages and a filet (I forgot the actual name) of steak and Lapin enjoyed each item I got him. He remarked it was very good quality and considers it one of couple of places he would ever get meat from. I just wished they carried more products **hint hint -- perhaps some fresh pasta :)**

Wow. This place. Sooooo good. Fresh meat, all types, cut how you want it. Order ahead and get your big feast sorted. I love how these guys cut pork with crackling. Makes cooking much easier
