I am writing this review with sadnes. I have been a customer at Van's for many years since moving to the area. They have some great people Van, Cylde,Tod, Terry, Joe, Adam and Lisa to name a few. I have bout many guns, several bows and knives over the years. I looked forward to visiting your store, but that has disappeared After the last several trips of customer rudeness its hard to shop at Van's I asked about a clip for a used gun and was told do I see one and responded back I don't that is what I was asking. I was then told do I want the gun or not . That day I saw many other customers getting short answers from some new guys behind the counter. Van please just watch some interactions with customers without them knowing you are watching Please Please help get it back to the first day I walked in and made a friend and a company not afraid that they stand behind what they sell. Best outdoor sporting goods and deer processing in the trip county area. Prices are a bit higher than the Big Box Stores i.e Bass Pro. But they are local and I support local anything. One of the best selections fire arms I know of in MS, long guns to hand guns and Premium imported long guns. Great Reloading inventory, to clothing, to fishing gear. Always busy. I feel lucky to have the so close by.

I went to Van's to just look at a high end scope for a new rifle I recently bought. I figured I would look there before I went to Bass Pro Shop to buy my scope. Once inside i was amazed at their selection and personal service. This happened to be the tax free weekend and the place was packed with shoppers. The salesman that approached me stayed right with me the whole time that I looked and he made me a great deal on a fine scope that was cheaper than Bass Pro. I recommend Van's for all your sporting good needs.

When the gentleman finished with that customer he walked right passed me to help another customer that had arrived much later than i, it is obvious that Vans has a common practice of ignoring BLACK customers, because this isn't the first time this has happened.

If you want to pay the highest prices for a firearm, go to vans. They like to sell promo guns at full price and will not refund your money if you purchased a non working gun from them. They will not help out on gun parts but instead Van's is more concerned with taking your money than making a customer happy.

Kick myself for buying there. Scope I purchased there was $1800. Got home and looked online and it was $1199 everywhere and didn't have to pay tax online. Never again. Try to shop locally but that won't happen again. That's alot of markup plus Van is getting dealer discounts. Free shipping plus almost half the price on Ebay beats getting screwed at Van's. Van is robbing folks.

I give 3 stars because all the other departments have always been very friendly and helpful so they would get 5 stars. As far as the archery department, they get 0 stars. I’ve went in with questions and bought several things and every time the behind the counter guys were rude and arrogant. It’s a shame because Vans is a great place for hunting and fishing supplies but they have officially lost my business for anything archery related. Go to B&B archery in Pearl, they actually want to help you there.

I'v been a customer of Vans mostly for firearm related buys. They have a very good selection of all your common types of arms, hand guns, shotguns, rifles, etc. new and used, budget through high end and rare. I'v lost count of how many Iv purchased from there, the staff is friendly and there's always plenty of employees to help including one or more people that are experts so if you have technical questions or are a beginner they can always help. I had an issue with a brand new S&W .38 once, they helped me send it back and although S&W was a nightmare to deal with Vans went out of their way to make up for the hassle, true they sold the gun but its not like they manufactured it. I purchase 75% of my arms from vans and will continue to do so. If you live around here and plan to purchase a gun, stop by vans first trust me. -W. Browning

I have purchased two firearms from Van's so far. Both experiences have been really good. Once you first walk up to the gun counter, there are usually some employees standing around that don't offer to help you but someone that actually does help customers is there in a reasonable amount of time. Prices are okay for their firearms. Not the cheapest but also not unreasonable. They have an absolutely huge selections of firearms though. Any type of gun you could want is there. It is the only place I have found around the Jackson area that actually has anything I'm looking for. Don't waste your time looking at mom and pop shops. Just go to Van's and they will take care of you. Employees are good southern people who treat you like you want to be treated. This place has all kinds of stuff too. Not just guns and ammo.
