I read the other great reviews and always heard this place had good meat. When I visited I didn't see any marbleized meat but decided to purchase the one delmonico steak that had the most fat on it. I grilled it medium rare. It was very tough without any flavor. It was one of the worst steaks that I ever had. Took two bites and threw it out. I won't be going back. Don't fall for the false reviews about the great meat unless you want lean tough meat.

do not take your deer here to get processed. horrible packaging! wrapped very lose in freezer paper with some having the meat exposed. all meat has to be repackaged. if you want to spend a lot of money and have poorly package meat that wouldn't last a week in the freezer then this is your place.

Grew up going here. Was our go to store. I moved from the area in the 90's but came back recently. I tried shopping there a few times but It definitely the same but different. The store is a time capsule, nothing updated in many, many years. Then I experienced the older lady. She definitely wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, every morning. I'm over it and moving on.

That older lady... Smdh... Personally I enjoy their meats and cookies/cakes, as they are made right there so they are fresh and yummy!!! But the older lady ruins everything!!! She is so mean... Rude.... Cold.... Snotty... And I could go on.... She's the owners sister so maybe that's her problem IDK but someone is gonna trip out on her one day I'm sure

Jim's butcher shop is a mainstay in downtown Flat Rock. It has been here for over 30 years. He has the BEST in hand cut meat of all kinds. He also has AWESOME stuffed pork chops, chicken, kabobs, and homemade sausage that is out of this world. He also does catering and processes deer! Homemade breads and bake goods of all kinds. Scones are to die for. Other groceries & antiques and craft persons goods. Great store! Great people! Lotto, alcohol & beer.

I love the fresh cooked chicken very good! My complement to the cooks the garlic was great! Way better then the big store chain & fast food it's great so is homemade items are worth it the store could use updates
