Best ever customer service! So knowledgeable and willing to do special cuts. I wanted to make a "meat basket" for my husband's birthday (he has a smoker) and Frank was so helpful with advice, cooking tips, and getting exactly what I needed. My husband says it is the best birthday ever and he is already planning to go back with his grilling/bbq friends.

Paid over $50 for a "Wagyu" steak, which was definitely NOT Wagyu, and also not cut very well, as one end was about a half inch thicker than the other. I also purchased a pork belly which, while reasonably priced, was not of great quality (I'm no expert, but I've cooked this cut of meat several times and this one was far too lean and pretty much cooked like a pork loin rather than pork belly).

They were amazingly helpful took the time to talk to me about the cut's of meat and what I wanted. When I cooked the meat it was absolutely the best meat I could of bought for the money.( I purchased American Wagyu). I will normally not bother to review a merchant however their service far exceeded any expectations I had. I will be a repeat customer and hope many others will be as well.

Also, to top it off, you get to meet Frank "the meat educator" to give you some honest tips on meat if you need it. Oh, yea, and the beef bacon is by pork bacon. Owner/butcher Matt and his team have procured an incredible variety of locally farm-raised meat, including pork, beef, rabbit, lamb, etc. all butchered on site, and their staff have an incredible wealth of knowledge that they are willing to share! We've already had tomahawk pork chops, rabbit, breakfast sausage, and will be enjoying a rack of lamb tonight! I can't encourage you enough to check this place out - satisfaction is guaranteed!

Very helpful and friendly. I have been looking and calling everywhere for beef kidney to make steak and kidney pie. They had what I wanted and it came nicely cleaned and wrapped. Thank you, it was the best pie I’ve Ever made.


Awesome farm fresh meats. Incredible cuts of beef which any of us have never heard of, let alone tasted. If you've never enjoyed farm fresh eggs you are missing something special.

Wife went there on December 5th and purchased steaks, pork loin, sausage and 2 slabs of ribs. Opened one of the slabs of ribs and it smelled so rancid we ended up putting it in a garbage bag and stuck it back in the fridge. Tried calling the store on Tuesday since they are closed on Monday. Left a message but a couple days later still have had no returned call. Guess the wife will just have to drive up there and hopefully they will resolve this issue.

This place is hard to find but so worth it. Frank spent so much time explaining the various cuts of meat and worked with the butcher to accommodate my special request for low sodium sausage! Can't wait to cook up these beautiful beef ribs and pork chops. Making room in my freezer for next time! Here's a tip ... when your GPS says you're here and you can't see it anywhere look to the left for their sign on grey building just off Woodward Hgts.

We've been patrons of the Romine's fantastic culinary endeavors since early on in the days of The Mulefoot Gastropub (which is missed) and have never been disappointed. This continued with yesterday's visit to the butcher shop. We've ordered online and enjoyed our purchase, but our visit (and corresponding meat purchase) was amazing. While there was a wait due to the number of customers, it was worth it. The steaks were fantastic in quality, and we're a hit at home later in the day. We will be back, and are already contemplating purchasing a 1/2 or whole cow and/or pig for over the fall and winter.

Provisions is a great cheese, chocolate and organic meat shop. The owners were very knowledgeable about the origins and flavors of the different cheeses. They gently guided you through suggestions and samples that are just outside of your comfort zone. There was quite an array of nut free chocolates from around the world. Some of the Vietnamese chocolates were insanely good! Just like the cheese, there were chocolate samples Galore. Provisions is slightly hard to find, it's in the back of a fenced-in lot. You have to really look for it. It's totally worth the effort.

Great new farm-to-consumer butcher in Ferndale. Matt knows where all of his meat comes from and offers it at a great price compared to other markets like whole foods. On my first visit, we picked up some great New York Strip steaks for Valentine's Day, sirloin bacon, ground lamb and breakfast sausage. It's a bit hard to find, as it has a Woodward Heights address, but the entrance is in a gated parking lot at the corner of Wolcott St and Woodward Heights. It's small right now, but I'm looking forward to seeing it grow!

If there's a better place to buy meat within an hour drive I'd love to know about it because we haven't found it. Everything, even the ground beef for burgers, is aged 60 days and tastes amazing. While they may be sold out of exactly what you're looking for if you come on short notice they will spend time explaining other unique cuts and other options. We recently got a Wagyu Denver steak that was incredible, but I would have never thought to buy on my own. They also have pork and lamb offerings, both of which are delicious. It is hard to spot from the street though, so keep your eyes peeled.

Everyone that works there was very knowledgeable and if they didn't have something that you wanted they would work on getting it for you. prices were a little expensive but well worth it cuts of meat. they also have a cheese counter that's wonderful. looking for something different that's where to find it.

My husband & myself made our first visit to FF&T yesterday to purchase a couple of dry aged steaks. The gentleman behind the counter was super informative, friendly & patient with us. My hubby was just delighted with his t-bone & bone-in strip steaks. The andoullie sausages we got were too greasy to be usable, which was a bummer. We will be back, nonetheless!

Very nice. First time to for me to take home some quality strip steaks. Salted/seasoned them four hours prior to putting them over the charcoal to grill. Very good. Go check it out!


Amazing, that about sums this place up. You will never want to buy your meat from a grocery store again. Everything I've tried from here has been excellent, including their scallops that I tried for the first time today. The steaks are incredible. You honestly do not even need to season the steaks when you grill them. The natural flavor their steaks have is fantastic. People think I'm a great cook, in reality I basically do nothing but grill the steaks and they turn out to be one of the best steaks you'll ever try. Besides their great selection of meat , Frank is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell he genuinely loves his job and taking care of his customers. When I have friends and family over for dinner this is the only place I will go to buy the meat.

The location is kind of odd, it's not the easiet to see. The staff is very knowledgeable and the selection was great, but unfortunately the prices seem a bit high, even for an organic/grass fed butcher. It was a nice treat with the Groupon deal, but unfortunately I doubt I will be shopping here due to the price. Also in the same room is a cheese/chocolate company, so you want to go to the counter furthest from the drawer.

I went there with high expectations, and they met them entirely. I bought their house made Italian sausage, and a brick of unsliced bacon. The sausage was so tender and well seasoned, and the cube bacon was absolutely phenomenal when sliced thick for BLT's. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Was able to give several suggestions for preparing my purchase. This is definitely a high end product source. Prices are definitely in line with the level of products that are on display, but so worth it. This is really a case of you get what you pay for.

Fantastic butcher shop! Frank is so helpful, especially with special orders. This is THE place to go for amazing Michigan raised meat. Since it's owned by two chefs, they'll even tell you how to cook the unique cuts of meat they carry.

Edit: I am unable to delete my review, so I will revise it. Farm Field Table has since paid for those hogs, and has made a much better second impression. We decided to try again, and haven't had any issues since. **6 days, and still no contact from Farm Field Table, for those wondering how this has turned out.** There was no miscommunication, nor were we at a loss with whom to call. We were in direct contact with one of the owners, Matt Romine, until he began to no longer answer or respond to calls, texts or voicemails after February 5th. We have several more hogs ready we were hoping to send your way as well as few hundred head coming along, and had hoped to start a good partnership here, but the sudden cease of communication outside of a review online, and then a seemly snippy response is pretty offputting. My husband and I would be happy to hold this discussion off of a review post, as we have tried to prior, and are willing to try and salvage a relationship if we can get this figured out in a more prompt and friendly manner, and direct communication can remain open throughout. We brought in SIXTEEN, pasture raised Mangalitsa and Red Wattle pigs to Farm Field Table, on January 17th of this year. We agreed to a 30 day net on payment for our hogs, with Mike, who was asking us repeatedly to bring more hogs with these 16. This deadline has come and gone, and now we are unable to get a response to calls or texts. We hauled our pigs across the state, about 200 miles one way, and were looking forward to establishing a relationship with this business. However we are now out not only our fuel, time, and all of the time, effort and care we put into our animals, but also about $8,000 in income for our family. I would most definitely not reccomend bringing your animals here, and if this is not resolved soon, legal action will ensue, and I will be making sure to let all of our fellow heritage breed hog breeders know of our experience. It's extremely unfortunate that it has come to this, as we have tried to be relaxed about the situation up until this point.
