Nice selection of meats as well as a small selection of produce and groceries. Unfortunately some of the produce looked like it was no longer good, but for the most part everything looked fresh. Overall this was a nice hometown grocery store and deli. The cashier was very friendly as we're the guys at the deli counter. We'll definitely be back!

I've been gong to Alward's Market for years. Incredible service and top quality meat choices. Years ago I picked up a 12 pound loin to have cut into NY Strip Steaks... The fella cut into it and said, "pick another one, this one will be tough." He proceeded to throw that loin into the hamburger grinder. How many meat markets would do that? Today, I bought a full rack of ribs from Wes, who was smoking/selling meat in front of the store... These ribs were hands down the absolute best pork I've ever tasted. Bob, Cam, Sue, Wes and the rest of the Alward's crew, never fail to exceed expectations!!!

A small market, but they have a great selection of high quality meats. Not to mention some of the best jerky in michigan, and great smoked bacon. Definitely worth a stop if you're ever heading through Hale. We've been coming here for many years on the way up north.

There was a long line but they got us right through, two pounds of bacon and 1 pound of breakfast sausage later. It was amazing and delicious. Made an awesome bacon wrapped pork loin over the fire.

Pricey....one steak $20. It was a rib eye and it wasn't tender, for that price it should have been Angus. Also pineapple there was $3.45 and everywhere else its under $2. Last visit and we are regulars not week end visitors

FIVE STARS: Meat NO STARS: Customer Service I've come to this store when it was Wyatt's!! They have ALWAYS been known for their meats, which are terrific!! I purchase loins, bulk meats (#10), meat trays, etc. HOWEVER, the last time I purchased bulk they freezer wrapped all the meat and put the stickers on the outside of the box leaving the packages ALL blank NO WAY of knowing what was inside!! When I called and spoke to Bob about this, his response to me, I quote: "Anyone should be able to tell the difference between hamburg and pork chops (boneless)" There was four of us at the house and NOBODY could tell the difference, so if they're frozen there is NO WAY anyone could tell what was inside!! We had to open each package, mark them and re-seal them!! This should have been done by them at the store, every other meat store (I've called around and Alwards use to mark them when they cared for their customers) mark the packages of what's inside!!

It's time for an update to Alward's reviews. Recently the store changed ownership, and like other locals I wondered if there was going to be major changes. Thank Goodness, there has not been so far. All things remain pretty much the same, Great meats & great staff. There was an issue lately that I will relate to everyone. The store has used Patriotic grocery bags, which a lot of folks (esp. Veterans) like very much. The supplier send a substitute bag when they ran out of the Patriotic bags. I brought this up to the staff, and talked to the new owner who said he would look into it. I am happy to report that Terry was successful in getting Patriotic bags back... GOOD JOB!!! Also, Tammy is making soups again, she does soup almost as good as my MOM's. I hope everyone gives Alwards a chance, This store is worth patronizing, help them out to keep this business going. Thanks for taking the time to read this review.

Ever since the new owners took over everything has went down hill. They got people who don't know anything working behind the meat counter. I asked for a pork loin she gave me a beef tenderloin The over all quality has went down. Will not be going back to alwards again! I've been a loyal customer for 8 years now. What a shame.
