Great meats (beef, pork, lamb, chicken, bison, etc.), seafood, eggs, veggies, wine and beer, etc. The place is always crowded, but the people are fantastic and knowledgeable. Parking is limited, but customers are in and out in a beat so not too bad. If you want meat a certain way, just ask for it and they will do it. They'll even grind fresh ground meats if you want it learner. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

It always crushes me a bit whenever I have to buy meat from somewhere other than here. Awesome selection of high quality meats, plus some organic offerings of veggies and fruit. Nice little beer and wine selection too! They’re a big supporter for local/craft fare as well, so keep your eyes peeled when it comes to products they have on the shelves (honey...seasonings...ice cream...literally anything). It’s hard to not love this Northern VA staple!

We have been shopping at this butcher shop several times a week for nearly 10 years. Excellent meat and very helpful staff. Special orders, smoked meats, game, etc are never a problem here! If you want something that is not on display, simply ask - if it isn't in the coolers, they can usually order if for you. There is a gourmet grocery store directly across the street, but their meat doesn't even come close to the quality.

I LOVE this place so much! Do you need organic venison to make stew? They've got it. Do you need organic pork fat to make your own lard? They've got it! Do you want Paleo brownies made with fair-trade cocoa? They've got it! This place is a hipster's dream and the only butcher/organic market any foodie in northern VA needs to go to. Can I give this place 10 stars? Because I want to. Plus everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! I went in to buy some pork and also ended up getting a little movie trivia. 10 out of 5 stars, will shop there again.

Three of us went into the shop not knowing what to expect. We were greeted by someone handing out samples of a delicious MD Cream of Crab. Then we were directed to the sales counter where Wendell was incredibly generous with his time asking us questions and making recommendations on what we should grill tonight. The prices were a little higher than I normally pay, but the service and from what I can tell the quality is there. We're grilling up steaks tonight. We'll know then.

Came here today at a suggestion of a friend. Definitely glad a stopped in- they have every meat you could dream of! Great quality. I got a beautiful duo of pork chops that turned out excellently. They’re that awesome kind of little shop with great homemade spices and rubs, organic honeys, jams and groceries in addition to their meAts. Will certainly be coming back again

I was sold a rotten turkey but didn't realize it until I got it home. So 'David' told me to return it for another one. I did and this turkey has a thermometer in it and was partially frozen. I thought they were all fresh and organic. I don't know what I got now. I will never shop here again. This was my first experience there and it was chaotic and a fiasco.

Terrible service and not for the first time. When I called they said it would take “an hour” for my order of lamb cubes to be ready. I showed up 3 hours later and asked one of the butchers for my order. Without a single word, he paused for a while, turned around, went out the back and returned with an untouched leg of lamb and started cutting it. No apology, no idea of how long it was going to take. It took them a good half hour and the result was very poor. I had asked for cubes with all the fat removed but almost none had been and it took me an hour to do it myself at home. Their stuff is undoubtedly very good but after several experiences like this it’s just not worth it. As it so often does, success has turned into arrogance and a lack of regard for the customer. Will definitely avoid them for a while.

They have homemade beef blends. Double check that the seafood is not previously frozen of that is important to you (99% on display was not). They have boar and other unique meats. They carry some organic products and produce to compliment their meats, so your visit can be a one-stop-shop for preparing for a meal. The staff is very friendly and builds great rapport with customers.
