Went with my wife Jennie, her sister Margaret and Margaret's husband Bill. The wives each had the soup & salad bar. The husbands each had the fried chicken dinner with the soup & salad bar. Everything was excellent. Finished the meal with slices of their frosted raisin bread and a nice helping of cottage cheese topped with apple butter. The best!

This place has the BEST fried chicken EVER!!! I will drive out of my way to go to Bullocks just to get their fried chicken. The batter is just right, it’s always fried perfectly and it’s never really greasy. Once you eat this chicken you’ll never want Popeyes, KFC or Royal Farms chicken again. They also have a nice buffet, awesome ice cream and yummy desserts. Oh, and don’t forget to buy a loaf of fresh baked raisin bread before you leave. This place has been there for a long time and my grandparents Dotty and Stanley Whitson use to go. It was five star then and is still five star now.

Well we drove an hour to eat and shop at Bullocks The meats were left out in showcase uncovered all day asked for rope saugage sold out freezers were down VERY!!!! VERY!!! DISAPPOINTED!!! then we went into the restaurant and deli walked the salad bar and left never to return thank God we found a Texas Roadhouse on the way home

We love Bullock's. Great restaurant. Fresh home cooked food. You order, sit and wait for your number to be called. They also have a salad bar. Hand scooped ice cream. Fresh made sweets and salads (raisin bread, pies, macaroni salad, potato salad ect.). There is a meat store attached to the restaurant. Fresh cut meat. The meat store is a butcher too; so you know their selection is fresh!

Read a review in for only in Maryland which is why we went. After reading the reviews on their steaks, I had to have one. Both my wife & I ordered the ribeye. Both of us ordered medium rare, my steak was way over cooked, and a bit tough. My wife's steak was also a little over cooked, but not as much as mine. We drove a little over an hour to get their, and needless to say was a little disappointed. They do have a very good salad & soup bar. Would I go back, not sure, but if I did & my steak was not the way I ordered it I would definitely let the staff know, especially for the price we paid.

Well Bullock's is great. If you've never tried it give it a go. I don't recommend eating in however unless you like their style. They are out of date on the decor but where I think they accel is in their butcher shop area. They have some great cuts and if you want to have a thicker steak cut they can do that too. Lots of good options very fresh and they have some accoutrements to go with your meal so you won't have to stop by a separate store.

Went there a couple years ago by accident. Service was unhelpful and slightly rude. However, the fried chicken was fantastic. Several months later we happened to be passing through the area again. We decided to get some fried chicken to go. Service was still rude. Chicken was great. I give it '5 stars' for the fried chicken and '1 star' for the service.

This place has not changed since I started coming here in college in the 80's and that is a good thing. The food is good old fashioned stick to your ribs fare, lunches are hamburgers and sandwiches. Dinners are steaks and fried chicken. The steaks are excellent as the name would imply plus the meat market on one end. The bakery is excellent and they serve hand dipped ice cream. Bullocks is a through the line cafeteria style order. Place your order and then check out the simple but extensive salad bar. When your food is ready they will call your number. For a good, quick bite of home cooking it is very nice. Lots of regulars in here every day.

I grew up down the street from Bullocks and even though I have moved an hour away it remains one of my favorite places to eat. My sisters and I worked there during high school and my mom cooked for their catering business in the 70s. I think they still use her Paradise dressing and baked bean recipes in the salad bar. Everything they serve is amazing and the fried chicken and salad bar are worth driving an hour for. I find it laughable that someone reviewed the food as tasting frozen when probably all the meat is slaughtered up on the hill. How much fresher could it be? Hope it didn't hurt the reviewer to get up for his drink refill! The serving concept of Bullocks has been that way for 40 years and seems to suit most people just fine. How many independent locally owned restaurants have been on business that long?

It isnt what it used to be sadly. Used to have best fried chicken in town. It was very dry and greasy. The pie had no flavor but the rolls still good but for 16 pc chicken rolls 2lbs of cold salads apple pie for 50.00 I wont be doing that again.

Two words: Fried Chicken. You can't get it better anywhere else, especially at lunch time. I love it with mashed potatoes or the steak fries, huge potato strips with a thin layer of fried goodness. You can't find them like this anywhere else. As another reviewer said, it's literally a step back in time, something out of the 50s perhaps. I've been with very large groups (10+) several times and it's a quick lunch option and generally a crowd pleaser. The soup and salad bar is a good choice too, usually with 2 soups, slippery pot pie, and a variety of breads and salad options. I still say: Fried Chicken.

A very quaint, family-style restaurant. It's like taking a step back in time. They have a good size soup and salad bar. The food is consistently good. Very laid back atmosphere. Upon arrival, you stand in a line to order your meal. Soup and salad bar is help-yourself. Otherwise, your number (on your receipt) will be called and you pick-up your food.

I inquired about slaughtering of a hog and how much meat I would receive from it. It’s not rocket science because men have been butchering hogs millions of times for many years. They could not tell me how much meat I would receive, and would not make any commitments other than their pricing. Why in the world would anyone wanna have their animals slaughtered at this business? There are Far superior butcher shops that will give you a range of meat that you should expect to receive in a fixed price for the cost of slaughtering, butchering and packaging the meet. My advice, look for another butcher won’t rip you off and steal your meet.

This is a great family restaurant. They are not only a restaurant but they have a butcher shop that you can get fresh meats sausage and boxes of ground beef already made into hamburgers. They also have fish and shrimp. They are very friendly and helpful with anything you need!!!! They also have a great bake shop with fresh pies and cinnamon buns!!!!! And a variety of other things!!!! The whole place is family owned and operated!!!!
