Great selection of meats, cheeses, and other goodies!

I wish I could split this review. So I will. I would give a 5 to the incredibly nice woman who help us in the cheese company. She helped me choose some cheese, wine, and gifts for the family we are visiting. Remarkable woman. The second half, the I wish I could leave less than one review, Main Street Meats. The female (because she was less than business woman and too foul to be a lady) was a rude, condescending, and shrewish. When we came in, they were busy. We spent time looking around. When we came back to choose what we would purchase for appetizers for dinner she acted like she was better than us. Granted we just got out of the ocean and maybe we didn’t look like we were there to spend money or honor her food. She acted like she was bothered by every request to help us. Then, rudely stated “we are here to help you!” when blueberries accidentally got turned over next to the register. It was her fault when she pushed the other things on the counter. We are from DC and we are the rude ones??!?!! Get someone new behind the counter. If you are the owner, grow up and realize we are the people that support your business to be able to survive the rest of the year.

Didn’t realize until recently that the original owner’s no longer there (assuming he was the “Flamm“ in the original name). Still a pretty good shop, nothing like it around here, but he seemed to be the backbone and was incredibly knowledgeable, about everything. Bread doesn’t taste the same.

Outstanding gourmet shop within a shop. Home made meat products like sausages, terrines, cured meats, etc. Unbelievable breads. Their baguettes are the closest to a French baguette as I've found yet. In that that they're made to be eaten within 24-36 hours

Don't let its size fool you– despite having the square footage of a small corner shop, a fully operational butchery cuts fresh and local cuts daily, cheese cases carry a seriously impressive selection of cheeses, shelves hold an assortment of gourmet products from all over the world, and award winning bread baked to perfection waits behind the register just begging to be taken home. You're totally missing out if you don't give this place a try.

Sure, they have choices, many items that you just can't find on the Mid-Coast of Maine. Great selections of breads as well. Some staff were approachable. But I must have rubed one staff the opposite way. I had asked if I could take a few photos of the cheeses. One staff said sure, and I explain why, for friends and clients to be able to select choices. I then took one photo of the cured meats and this other staff asked, "what are you doing?" I explained that I wanted a picture of the meats. She then quickly asked "why are you doing that?" She did say they have a list of meats. But I really felt grilled for a simple action that I had already sought permission ahead of time. Though place.
